Stay away, this body shop is hands down the WORST. I own a successful company for the past twelve years and have owned a few over my career. Honestly cant figure out how hard it is to do what you say and live with honor. This starts with the owner Joe Bassett who asked me to come in and meet with his Service Manager who would look at my two vehicles with hail damage 3 MONTHS ago. This took about an hour of my time and two sons time to drive the vehicles to the autobody shop. They took pictures and after harassing for over a month for the estimate. I was finally called back after about 6 weeks or so apologizing for ghosting us and no follow up. Was then promised we would receive a quote the following week. It took so long Farmers actually closed both my claims on each vehicle. Had to call Farmers again and re-open the claim. CARSTAR ( RANGE RD, CLEARWATER) finally called back after SEVERAL more calls and said she would send the claim on Friday ( It was Thursday ) Never happened its been another couple weeks. I called the store two days ago and said I would like to speak with Joe the owner and they asked what this call was regarding and I said please tell JOE - its about the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER IN THE HISTORY OF CUSTOMER SERVICE. Joe still hasnt returned my call. I see where his employees get it. Not sure how you run a business my friend. I understand we are probably understaffed due to COVID etc. At the end of the day its how companies react when things go wrong to completely continue to BS and break promises and NOT follow through is pathetic. To ignore phone calls and turn a back is any indication of what any other customer will receive, stay away. Couldnt imagine if I actually left the car there, Lord knows how long it would take. If anyone knows of a local Autobody shop that does what they say and does quality work, please share. I have already wasted 3 months on CARSTAR - Clearwater- Range RD location ( There are several locations, Joe owns two of them so dont judge all of the others with this review, its different ownership) Sorry to all for the long winded review its actually the 1st one I have given in years. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE

I highly recommend this shop to everyone! I needed my passenger mirror replaced on my truck and Darryll Austin helped me not only find the best deal so I could save the most money, but he also made sure it was done correctly and quickly. I can honestly say my mirror would not be fixed right now if it were not for Darryll.

This place is fantastic. #1 the quality of the work they did was perfect and you can get that at a lot of places. What set them apart was the customer service. They got me in quickly and had the job done much faster than expected. While I was waiting for the rental car company to pick me up, Darryl Austin (an employee) noticed I was waiting for longer than is normal. He came out and offered to drive me to the car rental place. VERY appreciated as I was on a tight schedule to get back to the office. Then when I picked up my finished vehicle the owner (Joe Bassett) came out to make sure I was a satisfied customer. I am never going anywhere else for damage to my vehicles. This place earned my biz for life.

I had a minor fender bender with my Toyota Tundra. Its color is called, cement gray, which is very hard to color match. The painter nailed it! Very pleased!!!

Great work. Good communication with us and with insurance after the fender bender. Car looked better than before. And it was cleaner, too.

Don’t take your car in for an estimate because they will order parts without asking you or telling you price and then if you don’t want to pay that price they charge you hundreds of dollars to return the parts or they won’t give you your car back. Very unprofessional. Who knows what other shady stuff they got going on. Just beware.

I have taken my car multiple times. Every time they kept me informed and up to date with everything they were doing. I will only bring my cars to this shop. I recommend them to everyone especially my friends and family.

AMAZING PROFESSIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE... JUST WOW. It was by luck, that i found this collision department. My car died and needed to be towed, was taking it somewhere else, until SAM the tow guy for Pinellas gave me a card and told me it was my choice, but he was confident that i would love the work and shop... and BOOM took a leap of fate and told him to take it to service shop.. then i called the Collision department spoke to the most PROFESSIONAL, KINDEST, COMPASSIONATE -- KIM, during COVID-19, hard to ask for rides & scared to do UBER/LFYT but KIM, she DROVE DOWN to service, did an estimate for me... ABSOLUTELY FAIR & AFFORD estimate... She ordered the parts, and got my car to be fixed, kept me in the loop entire time... my engine is still acting up, and KIM & the wonderful staff, WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND CUSTOMER SERVICE... Kim took my car back to service for me... its the small acts of kindness and help that makes me want to give 1000% star review.. Very impressed with Collision and service! SHOUT OUT TO TOW TRUCK DRIVER SAM, KIM (estimator) & OWNER FOR HAVING AMAZING STAFF!

Our son had trouble backing out of the garage, and scraped the bumper on the way out. Originally took the car elsewhere and was quoted $1000Luckily I was referred to Carstar, who immediately recognized it wasn’t going to require as much to fix. Parts were ordered, and repair was done in less than an hour. We’re so grateful we stopped in.
