Called the owner on the recommendation of a trusted associate. The generator on my 1938 Chevy pick-up truck was making an unfamiliar noise and I was looking for someone who could rebuild to. The generator is original so it was important to have it rebuild in lieu of replacement. I imagined sourcing parts for and 83 year old generator would take some time for any shop. I was literally taken at back when the owner told me he had the new old stock parts for my exact generator. Who keeps 83 year old parts in their inventory? In less than 1/2 a days time the generator was back in my truck and I was cruising on. Sincerely can not give a higher recommendation for this company. Top notch!

He was also able to take me in last minute on a Friday and able to have me out within a few hours. I’m highly impressed with his work and will continue to visit him if I ever need to. 5/20/2021 - ABSOLUTELY recommend Dan and this shop!! I called on Tuesday afternoon @3 PM and described my issue and Dan was able to give me a quote based on the part (that he ordered overnight from CA) and labor estimated (1 hr). He called me the next day to inform me that my vehicle was ready and that he had also replaced a bad terminal cable and even though he said the actual job took 3 hours, he honored his estimate of an hour of labor. I am amazed at how professional, prompt, and courteous the experience was.

Im so happy they sold me a one year warranty in April to close 2 months later. What a great way to hang your hat.

29 April 2021:Thanks to all the positive feedback from previous customers, I drove over from Ruskin, Fl, about 50 miles, to have Dan work on my 2000 BMW 540i. It has a liquid-cooled alternator that is not easy to work on. Dan did an excellent job...and because parts were not easily available... I have a new Bosch alternator at a fair price! Stan Evans

Alternators sometimes go bad from overworking, not just age. Down here in Florida it is not abnormal to replace your battery every couple of years. I have had several interactions with Dan and all of them have been positive. A couple years ago when an alternator on my F350 failed one evening, I picked one up one the way home at the auto parts store and installed it to avoid downtime. Two days later the light was back on. Fortunately I still had my original core, called Dan and dropped it off. later that day I picked it up for about half the price of the one I got from the store. Been working great ever since.About 4-5 months ago I had an problem with the starter on my 1967 International Scout. Again, called Dan. As we discussed the issue over the phone it was immediately apparent he really knew what he was talking about on these vehicles that are probably twice as old as him. Had him rebuild and it has been perfect ever since.Fast forward to this week. The F350 starter would spin but not engage. I did not even think twice about where I was going. Dans repair was reasonably price, and I am far more confident in what is in there than I would be with one from the LAPS.It is a shame that there are not more true mechanics out there that can actually diagnose and fix what is wrong, and evaluate the condition of everything else, instead of just removing and replacing with aftermarket garbage.I recommend Dan and Advance Alternator and Starter service to anybody who has an issue in those areas.

I am very pleased with my experience! I came to visit my mother from out of town and my battery died, killing my alternator along with it. My day started out horribly after spending 3 hours at the Honda dealership, only to be told my warranty just expired, my alternator was bad and it would cost 825 plus 400 for a possible bad tensioner.As I was waiting I googled alternator repair places near me and found advance. I was in a pinch. I had removed my rear windshield wiper motor to clean it and determine whether it was operating correctly. I somehow lost the little spring that keeps the brushes in contact with the rotor. I could find the spring anywhere and I know these motors are very expensive. I did a search on google for an auto electrical repair shop near me and happened to come upon Advance Alternator and Starter Svcs. I called and explained my predicament to Dan. He said to bring the motor in for a fix. I did so, and Dan expertly crafted a replica of the spring. He installed it, tested it, and declared it was as good as new.
