I havent shopped at Willis in years. They never seemed to have a very large selection, esp. compared to the big box stores. While they still dont have the biggest selection, I cant believe what a great deal they gave me on a new Fender Strat. The gave me an instant rebate of $200 as well as earning 2% in-store credit for the purchase (another $40), so I definitely got the best price in town. This was even better than what was offered on-line. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about their products -- special shout out to Karl!. The store itself was well maintained and modern, although the mall itself was pretty depressing. I will certainly shop there again!

I am renting a musical instrument for my daughter for school band. The rental I did have broke, but the fellas at Willis music replaced it for free. It is really affordable to rent and great service.

I’ve been a customer here for almost 5 years I’ve bought a few different guitars from here. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I recently bought a synsyster gates signature with a Floyd rose tremolo and was very confused about fine tuning the instrument I went to Willis and within 20 minutes one of the workers had it explained to me perfectly in a way I could understand. I’ve had nothing but good experiences with this music store and I plan to be a customer for a very long time.

Its a great store, but in comparison to other really nice music stores, its not a five-star music shop.Its small. It is a little larger than your average, Mom N Pop guitar shop. The staff is helpful, but theres usually only one or two employees working there, on any given day, & they do not do really extensive repairs to instruments. But they are friendly, and helpful, and its nice to have a place where you can stop in, & grab a little something that you might need, & they tend to have whatever it is youre looking for.

My son decided he wanted an electric guitar. I had no clue what we needed. Spencer was very helpful!

Picked up an Epiphone Les Paul Modern from Willis Eastgate today. Beautiful store with a very helpful staff. Youll find special instruments here. If you want a guitar that has soul, go to Willis!

I go up there to window shop. Ill find something I like then search on the Internet for a better price. Sometimes I find one, sometimes I dont!

I give this place a pass because the service is always good here. Guys are friendly and professional but not stuffy. The downside is the selection for me. They just dont have the selection of Guitar Center and Sam Ash Music. I realize they mainly seem geared towards school band rentals and guitars but as a bass player I feel the selection of instruments and amps is sorely lacking. Still I could easily recommend them if guitars is your thing or keys, band instruments etc.

Went there to get guitar strings and picks. The gentleman behind the counter was very nice and knowledgeable.

This is an excellent store to get in a musical instrument parts for strings for your guitar and theyll even put them on for you for a small fee very friendly people there very helpful

The store had a wonderful selection of Yamaha Clavinovas. These great pianos greet you as soon as you walk in, and so does the sales staff. Ill certainly be back the next time Im in Cincinnati!

Music store in the mall, and the pricing reflects this. Staff is knowledgeable, and there are staff as well as private rooms for music lessons.

A very good selection of common instruments; guitars, keyboards, drums, and a mixed bag of small handheld instruments youd find in a music classroom. Not as wide a selection of special interest or finer instruments such as banjo or violin. Same with the instructional books, wide piano and vocal, handful for special interest. Which I guess makes sense, because those products just kind of sit there, until some yokel like me shows up and requests uncommon stuff.

This is a super nice music store. They have any type of sheet music you could possibly want for any type of instrument you could possibly play. My child really enjoys going here for his music lessons.

The folks there are nice enough but none of the guitars ever seem to be set up to play. Can nobody there do that. You got to adjust them for the customers to like trying them out. No one wants to buy a guitar with a bowed neck or buzzing frets. It defeats the purpose of having a store. Just focus on the other instruments I guess.

I have personally been taking guitar lessons at the store and my teacher has helped me understand how to play guitar and when I purchased my guitar the man who sold it to me answered all off my questions and helped me find a guitar that fit me I also got a ton of discounts and freebies. One thing I recommend is go during the holidays when they want to sell a lot and all the problems other reviews have said can be avoided.

Decent selection, but most of their gear is far overpriced and their sales people are way too pushy. Then give you attitude if you don’t buy anything.

Poor & rude sales people, very disappointed. My son and a friend went there to play some instruments and look at some guitars, while they were there singing, the sales rep told them that they were not allowed to sing? What? This is a MUSIC store! Ive seen other people there singing there before! They were not disruptive or loud either! Sorry Willis but you lost a big sale that day, we were about to make a big purchase.I recommend Guitar Center! They let them try out their instruments and play and sing there and they were much nicer and professional!

Responding to a review I left and you guys asked me a question back..My review was you never have what I need..I have been in there the last two months..I am an active professional musician and as all of us, we have our preferences..mine is Pro-Mark drum sticks 747 with vinyl tip...I am a rock drummer..seems like you cater only to soft rock and jazz or high school when it comes to sticks and certain (most) instruments and thats okay..you have Pro-Mark sticks, but every time I come in..the Pro-Marks with vinyl tips are sold out..no matter what size..this should tell you something. The rack is full of wood tipped...Then I walked in the other day for the same thing..nothing..then I wanted a High Hat Stand..you had two stand alone (not mixed into floor kits) both very beginner stage high hats..so I ask to buy one set up with a kit..They told me no..They could order me one..well..so can I for that matter..that drum kit has been there for over a month..you should sell me the stand and you should order one. I am here..cash in hand..sell it. Little things like this really make a difference when your thinking I need to stop and get some..sticks...stands.. drum heads..(which you guys have very little..I had to stop buying heads there for drums..Never have enough of the same series)..so you think..Well, they probably dont have what I need anyways..so a person moves on and forgets about Willis Music because stock is so small..I get that you only have so much space..but maybe the store should watch what is selling best and get more...And never..never..never..refuse to sell something. Same thing here..if you guys would have sold me that high hat stand..I would have remembered that..Those guys went out of their way and sold me what I wanted off the floor and ordered another stand I would tell all my musician friends. I hear this a lot..Why go to Willis..? They never have what you need.. I say..because its my hometown music store.

Higher prices and smaller selection than their bigger competition, but the staff is friendly. Mainly deal in fender, blackstar, and mesa boogie amps.Update: On my last visit all three employees ignored me even though I was the only one in the store. I would think with so many other options they would want as many paying customers as possible, but apparently they dont care if I take my money to guitar center, Sam Ash, Sweetwater, zzounds, musicians friend, etc. I wont be back.

I went here for advice and help buying/renting a sax. The adds stated that the staff would be well informed and helpful. While one young lady there was indeed helpful she lacked any real knowledge of instruments and how to pick one as a beginner. The other two clerks where about as helpful as athletes foot. One stayed on her cell phone texting and tweeting while the young man with the deer in the head light look and Why am I here demeanor just shrugs his shoulders in a classic almost stereotypical teenage I dunno.I am very disappointed with the lack of service and waste of my time the staff of Willis provided. I would not recommend this to anyone seeking information about your first instrument or how to chose one.Hope this saves some of you time and effort.

Family had a great time

Went and bought a ukulele, took it home for 24 hrs and I didnt like it. Went back the next day to look for a guitar instead. Found a guitar that I absolutely loved and was going to use the ukulele return to pay for the guitar. Well the guy returned the ukulele instead of exchanged it. Then I took an old guitar that I found and wanted strings on it because my money didnt hit my account from the return and the guy was very snoody. I will not spend one more penny there. Very disatisfied.

Keep moving store around so whenever I go Im so disoriented. 😂
