So since my review got deleted, Ill put it back. The dude seemed in a bad mood, and seemed mad because i asked to pick up a guitar, i asked if there was any picks and in a rude and snarky tone he said We prefer you to not do too much picking he was an older man too. Ill never be Back... (This was may of 2019 i believe?)
It is in basement of a condo. You will have to park on the street and walk up to a big red brick building (yes, it looks like an apartment building because thats what it is). Then, you will have to walk up the driveway and turn to your right. His door is the second to last. There is not a sign or anything to indicate that this is where it is located. Ring the doorbell a few times- if he doesnt answer then call him. It is a little strange at first because youll be wondering if this is legitimate...it is. You will walk into his living room and it just feels like a regular house. Again, theres not a single thing that would make you think theres a guitar shop anywhere near you at all. The basement is down the hall to the left. There are probably about 50ish BEAUTIFUL guitars hanging on the wall. Dont bother making small talk with the business owner, hes not very talkative. Do be prepared to feel awkward. Do ask if you can play the instruments. Do ask if you can plug a guitar into an amp. Dont act the way you normally would in a guitar shop (i.e., grabbing guitars off the wall, plugging them in, asking questions, etc.). All in all, an interesting experience to say the least. I dont think I will be going back due to feeling unsafe since I was in some random persons basement. I feel bad leaving a review like this because he does own really beautiful instruments. Its just that the experience is very intimate and awkward.
This was my first visit to this establishment. I drove from Kentucky after speaking at length to the owner regarding a trade deal. He was very flexible, courteous, and accommodating. The shop is nothing short of awesome; tremendous selection. My new go-to for any guitar needs!
So helpful. I will be a repeat customer. Very knowledgeable experts. Grateful they are close to Oakley.
Called around 12:30 pm asking to see if they carried nylon guitar strings for a classical guitar and the associate said that they might have a few sets, but didnt offer to go check. I mentioned that I would be in a bit to get them (assuming they had them).Fast forward 45 minutes and arrived at the establishment to find the front door locked. Called the store again to no answer, then to receive a call back to then talk to another associate who then said they were closed for the day due to being at a blues festival (or something like that. That part I dont remember). Would have been nice for the person I talked to earlier to mention that before I drove to their store. No signage on the door or anything to note the change in hours (or even on their website).:(
Easily the best high end guitar shop in the region. Very knowledgeable staff, incredible pieces, worth visiting if youre in the market for a serious player
I just needed some guitar strings and advice on music lessons. The cashier was nice and helpful with both.
Great place. They did an amazing setup on my telecaster.
Musicians who happen to play guitar will find a home here.
