This is one of those good, good hardware stores with the creaky wood floors and the hard to find stuff. I hate the big box stores, and try and find these where I can. Im glad I know Becks. Theyve got me out of a few jams, and 10 minutes from anywhere in Hyde Park. Always someone there asking if you need help, and youre not walking around a giant warehouse for 2 hours looking for something simple that should be in the plumbing aisle, but is actually in paint. Anyway, skip the blue and yellow stores and head to Beck for a quick, friendly experience.

As an older woman, hardware is definitely not my forte. The wonderful folks at Beck Paint & Hardware make this otherwise diificult experience effortless! Tell them what you are looking for and, chances are, they can tell you the aisle the item us on, the shelf it is on, and how far down the aisle you need to go! I highly recommend this wonderful little located on East McMillan Street in Walnut Hills!

Becks on McMillan is by far the best hardware store in the City!! They have a large and well chosen stock including many things you wont ever see at the big box stores. They also do knife sharpening and Im systematically refurbishing all my kitchen knives, metal shears, and scissors. This is a great service you dont find anymore. Someone always offers to help you within a minute of coming in the store. Has that ever happened to you at Home Depot or Lowes? Highly doubtful! Check this place out. The store is right off I-71, you always find a place to park right by the door and its in and out in minutes. No wandering aimlessly down long aisles and buying something similar to what you wanted. Becks is a small, efficient and friendly. And I bet youll find exactly what you wanted.

This hardware and paint store has been in the Walnuthills area since I was a little girl living on Oak Street. Such fond memories of a smiling familiar face. I have a DIY project and everything I needed was in stock. Plus I needed a copy of a door key, they do that also with a smile. Truly enjoyed my visit.

What a hardware store suppose to be, knowledge, respect and treat you right all the time. If they dont have it, they will ordered for you and give the best deal possible. The owners bother is one of the nicest guys around and you cant forget Don from the paint department too. Its like tool time the show

Ive been a patron of Becks for many years. It is the only local neighborhood hardware store that I know of. They have much better service than Home Depot and Lowes. The other chain is a boutique with a hardware store atmosphere. Becks has what you need and if you dont know what you need they do.

Sure, its smaller than the big box stores (which is a huge benefit at times) but the people there are helpful and know their stuff. They have just about anything you need and its super easy to get in and out quickly. Prices are fair and you can check stock online if you want to double check before you make a trip.

Becks has been around a long time with that being said. The knowledge of all the long term employees is second to none. Plumbing, electrical, roofing, window screen, window glass replacement etc..they are reasonably price for the convenience of in and out quick versus the big box stores where you can get lost in the damn place,, when you get there say hi to OLD SCHOOL lol with the hair from the 70s a great guy .i think he keep a razor on him lmao just kidding. . A great gem in the walnut hills area ...i love this place. ..MUCH LOVE PEOPLE. ....... peace. .....

A good LOCAL hardware store. If you want somewhere inside the 275 outerbelt area, options are very limited. Can be a little pricier than the big box stores, but you come out ahead once you figure in cost of travel and time.

Thank heavens there is a decent hardware store close to downtown (Walnut Hills) without having to run way out the mid-burbs to go to a big box store where nobody has a clue what is going on. Run by trained and seasoned personnel, if one person can t answer your question they keep asking around until someone can. Prices are (understandably) a bit higher and selection narrower, but theyve never been without something that Ive been seeking.. A hidden jewel in Walnut Hills!

Called and asked about tow chains. They said come on over we have it all told him what need to be towed said he had it. Arrived and they have nothing strong enough for the tow. Caught a cab there and can back still unable to tow. Poor experience
