We used Jim Carver & Sons for a bathroom remodel/expansion. They did an outstanding job from beginning to end. Designer Brian did a 3d rendering which helped us imagine the space and helped us select finishes, and builder Brian was top notch doing the work. They built it per schedule and budget, communicated any issues (it is a 1900s house), and cleaned up when finished. We received 4 quotes, they were the 3rd highest, but it is a great example of you get what you pay for. I would 100% use them again for any project.
Just finished a kitchen remodel and we could not be happier with the result. Very professional and detailed. The workers left our home every night as if it were their own, Great attention to detail and follow up. Dave and his crew were wonderful to work with and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to remodel.
Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful staff. Took the time to answer all questions and concerns. Very professional and easy to work with
Fantastic people and service
BUYER BEWARE!! Had a problem with work and was told theyd fix it, then refused to do so.
We had a terrific experience with the whole team at Carver & Sons, working closely with Adam as our designer and lead as the project was completed. We did a significant renovation, opening up walls in our house, gutting our kitchen, moving laundry upstairs, and creating a new powder room downstairs. The process went extremely well. I was kept closely informed throughout the process of timing and getting in materials and appliances. The team was so precise with timing that they actually ended ahead of schedule, even serving as a liaison with a flooring company to ensure all elements of the project were accomplished at an appropriate point. We intend to do a renovation on our master bathroom/laundry room in the coming years and we fully plan to work with Carver again.
We have used Jim Carver & Sons for two projects, a master bath renovation and then a major kitchen overhaul that included knocking out walls and extending our kitchen. We couldnt be happier with both projects. Both our main contact / designer (Barb) as well as the crews executing the work were outstanding. We will use JC&S for future remodeling projects
Absolutely outstanding in every regard- customer service, pricing, craftmanship, you name it! This was our first home remodel and Dave was kind, professional and knowledgeable. The crew who worked on our home was highly skilled and wonderful to work with. We will be using them again for future projects without hesitation!
Dave Carver and Sons remodeled our kitchen and first floor a year and a half ago and completely transformed they way we use our home. Our house is much more beautiful and functional now. They did an excellent job, and I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking to remodel their kitchens.
I called Jim Carver and Sons because they have done work for me in the past when I lived in Georgetown, Ohio. I called to get an estimate on a finished basement. They offer a 3-D drawing. You have to pay $300.00 for it but I did not care. On May 29, 2020, Brian comes to my home takes measurments collects the $300.00 and says he will get back to me. I have to call him several times. He calls me to tell me that he believes the project will be out of our budget. I tell him I do not have a budget. Give me an estimate based on what we talked about. And let me see the 3D drawing so that we can decide. He tells me he has to talk to someone and get back to me. He calls again and tells me thatt he believes it would be out of my budget. Again I tell him we do not have a set budget. Let us see the estimate and the drawing. We get nothing. I drive to the office and am given my check back. I believe they did not do anything, I believe they or Brian just decided he did not want my business. I am irratated because I want the basement finished by Novemeber, I waited a month to find out that the job would be out of my budget (Again I DO NOT HAVE A SPECIFIC BUDGET IN MIND) Moreover, I never even got an estimate let alone a 3D drawing. This has been a big waste of time.
The Carvers have done multiple jobs for us both inside and out of our home. (Kitchen, siding, doors, windows, roof, gutters, flooring, bathrooms)Their customer service is impeccable! They and their crews take great pride in their work and they stand behind what they install. We would not consider going anywhere else for our home renovation needs.
Design work was fine, but when the construction began, the job fell apart. I was looking for quality work, done by licensed professionals -- this was not the company to choose. The first day of demo, the two crew members removed all the fixtures, but didn’t put down adequate floor protection, and stained our bedroom carpet. Then it got worse.Day 2, they wanted to start the plumbing, but within a few hours, it became clear they had no clue how to do it. I found out that neither of them were licensed plumbers and that no one had pulled a plumbing permit. Contacted Carver and he tried to find an actual plumber. Day 3, they started into the electrical, but the same problem – neither of the crew member were licensed electricians. Uh-oh. At this point, I stopped the job.Negotiated with Carver to pay for the material delivered, and then had another company finish the work. I would not recommend this company.
They refinished our master bathroom. While the job was not without some hiccups, they were professional throughout the process and in the end delivered high quality work. Very trustworthy team!
We were redoing our master bathroom and needed a double sink counter top that was unusually long and needed to match the rest of bathroom colors. They were able to find us the correct color, material and sinks and get it installed when we asked. the work was above our expectations and we love it. Thank you.
If I could give this company 0 starts I would. I scheduled weeks in advance to have their handyman come do some work on my house to prepare it for sale. It is hard to find a reliable handyman, so I figured it would be great to get one from a reputable company. The handyman showed up on time. However, he then told me he had other, primary, responsibilities that he had to do. He said he could only do the work in the afternoon. I was unhappy but desperate so what could I do? Then in the afternoon, he said he cant come at all. Mind you, this was SCHEDULED. IN ADVANCE. So half my day was wasted during which I thought someone was coming so I didnt try to find anyone else to do the work. I called the company and spoke to one of the actual Carvers and he actually said yeah he has to unload the trucks as if an appointment and scheduling mean nothing to them. Maybe they do a good job with remodeling, but the irresponsibility of this and their nonchalant response coupled with their complete disrespect for my time and schedule prompted me to write this review. This is my FIRST Google review so you can imagine the inconvenience required for me to write this.
If you looking for home improvements and you don’t want to go to the large stores this is a nice place people are very nice, I really couldn’t tell you if the prices are more or less but you get what you pay for.
Called to try to get an estimate all I need is tile on a bathroom wall repaired or replaced I talked with Dave who said everything had to be replaced every wall the toilet the sink the tub everything and gave me a rough estimate of $18,000 over the phone. be warned they only cater to people with money to burn
Extremely helpful, friendly, and patient.
Very well one contractor outset. They have a reception of so he recalls to remind you of appointments. very unusual for this business.
Very knowledgeable.
