Andy did a fantastic job gathering up the supplies before I entered the store. With buying some more extra equipment, he showed me how to assemble it and what the product looks like.Great worker, even carried some of the products to my car and gave me advice on how to fit a backdrop into a small sedan lol.

Extremely knowledgeable shop that sells a wide variety of camera and camera accessories! The people who work there are very nice and understanding to ask advice about certain equipment to use. Honestly if youre looking for a good camera shop to check out I cannot recommend any other place! Definitely worth the drive, and I will gladly come back again soon!

Had a mediocre experience here. Customer service was very hands off, and had to approach them to get any help. While they were not exactly rude, they werent friendly either. Plus the store was dimly lit which is not my preference when browsing expensive items. Some people may prefer this, however it just isnt my cup of tea.Edit: just read some of the previous reviews and the parts about being ignored definitely ring true.

My professional career as a videographer has absolutely relied on the support and equipment that I’ve received from Dodd. The staff are out of this world polite and caring. They go above and beyond to understand your needs as a videographer and to meet those needs with the best piece of gear to fit it. They’re always helpful and point me in the right direction.

Corey is literally the best employee. He - out of work hours - recommended me the ultimate setup and for some reason he would not disclose said to give the sale to someone at the store. He literally saved my wallet and recommended the Fujifilm Sx10 instead of what I was looking at because it packed the SAME punch but several hundred dollars less. I got there and we found a gentlemen named Brian - this man welcomed me even though he was on the phone at the time and made my purchase quick and EASY - even recommended a Boom mic that I went ahead and purchased. What a combo of employees. 10/10 service, priced matching exists, and the staff is welcoming and knowledgeable. I imagine some of these folks freelance or stream or something because answers came quickly for them when I had a question. You should all be purchasing things from Brian and Corey at this location.

This is a true and rare photography store. It sells new and used equipment from the most basic to professional, film to digital. Prices are very good, especially during special events.Yes, you can go back to film! I and others fill out lens, flash and other equipment to enjoy this fascinating and still loved media.The employees actually know about all the equipment they sell, and they work hard to help set you up to do what you want.

I recently got a roll of Portra 400 developed at Dodd. It took them only a week to develop and it came back perfect. scratch and dust free. The negatives turned out fantastic and come back in the same envelope they sent it out in, which means they took care to keep track of them. They also come back in matte negative sleeves great for scanning!

I love going to Dodd. It is my favorite toy store. It is literally relaxing. I can look, chat, ask questions and the people that work there have a fantastic attitude. I recently bought a used lens that I couldn’t afford to buy new. It is in fantastic shape. It might as well be new. If they don’t have it, they will get it for you. And if you need help, you will get it.

We went there for quick passport size photographs with very specific dimensions and they were among the very few in the town to do it. Its a great place - very friendly folks and very professional. For camera geeks, its a heaven as you get a wide variety of cameras and cool accessories. In addition, they have a big studio for clicking cool photos.There is parking available in the lot which is common for all the shops in the complex.

Initially I went to procam to trade my gear in and the price was so low it was laughable. Although I ended up selling my gear myself that experience made me try out other options for camera gear. The gear I bought was used but top notch and the prices were extremely affordable (lower than anywhere online).The employee that helped me was super helpful and personable. You could tell he was genuinely trying to help me find the best options for what I was looking for. Customer relationships and service are what creates a long lasting and growing business. I ended up spending $850 and plan to go here for my next purchases. Think about it though...the fact that a company wanted to pinch pennies on a customer caused me to explore other options in which resulted in a better outcome for me and their competitor. Thanks!

I bought camera, lenses, printer and misc stuff. Very good service. Excellent prices. The only thing I wish that they had better return policy 30 days not 10. Hal, Dallas, Ian and Bryan are pretty knowledgeable and willing to help.

Just in the area today, stopped to look @used wide angle lens for my canon.Corey Hodgson was great !!! He suggested many different angles and ways to go, looked up what I had purchased before to get the range I needed.. walked out satisfied and amazedDodd,s is great.

I absolutely love Dodd Camera! Everyone there is so helpful and so kind to me! No matter what problem I have, they are always willing to spend time with me, fix a glitch, and explain to me what happened without making me feel incompetent! Have always had great customer service, from shopping small items to lenses and / or renting a camera for a shoot. Rental department has always been spot on and Hal is an amazing resource. They carry a good balance of pro and beginning equipment. No problem recommending them.

Personally I like this store, as I like to shop on my own and not be bothered to have to make a selection in a hurry. Some camera stores rush you in my opinion. I browse the store and they have quite a few things out on display which interest me. I especially like their selection of high quality professional lighting and modifiers. They have great staff who are very courteous, knowledgeable and professional. I highly recommend them!!!

Dodd is excellent. The staff are knowledgeable about the products they sell and easy to work with.I find that renting equipment from Dodd is significantly cheaper than most other alternatives, especially online. They only charge you the cost of one day to rent over the weekend and because you dont have to pay shipping or handling it is very cost effective.

Staff is always professional and helpful (except for maybe one). Store is fully stocked and well laid out. Prices however to me are high. Hard to support local business sometimes.

The sales people here seem to be knowledgeable of photography and generally know what they are talking about. Not pushy or obsessed with selling you something. You can expect to get everything at MSRP. I really havent seen much on sale, but they sometimes have used equipment at good prices. Its nice to be able to try out different lenses before buying.

This is the last big brick and mortar camera store in Cincinnati. Their customer service is top notch. They go above and beyond. You can test camera equipment, purchase and rent gear, they have instructional classes and a studio in the back that is available to rent. Lastly, if you have young children, there is a toy train set to keep them occupied and happy. Great store and staff.

It seems that Dodd Camera is one of the last free standing Camera Stores in Cincinnati. They were very busy (12/27/17), but very attentive despite the flow of Customers. I highly recommend the store.

Outstanding! First visit was today. I am new to the DSLR game / higher end cameras. Recently purchasing a Canon 80d. I know enough to be dangerous; and still really benefit from listening and learning to people. Even though I was buying some accessories, they talked with me as if I was a customer of many years. They took a lot of time and showed me all sorts of products I can use to make my work look more professional... I will def be going back. Pricing was mostly on point with Amazon when I checked; but that is all MAP / Dealer pricing. High quality, higher end products carried here FYI. No knock offs or cheap $5 mounts that last 2 weeks.Great team! I worked with Hal and Kim.

I just want to take a minute and say that I couldnt disagree more with the negative review. I am a professional photographer and I am so happy that there is finally a store in the Cincinnati metro area to serve my needs. The sales staff are all photographers themselves and are experienced with what they sell, and they are very accommodating to customers of all skill levels. Theres no reason to shop online if you live near Cincinnati. If they dont have what you need in stock, they will get it to you faster than an online retailer could and their prices are just as good as the big box stores and online vendors, and the service is 100% better.Dodd is an Ohio-based company and a family owned business also, just a heads up, if thats important to you.

Dodd will now be my go-to place for camera equipment. They have such a wide variety and at fair prices, too. So many people came while I was shopping to rent equipment thats now something ôl consider as well. As I took my time browsing I was asked if needed help a few times, but no one was pushy. Im looking forward to future trips!

I have to agree with Anna, I think this is the best camera shop going in the Cincinnati area. So many have shut down or cater only to consumer grade offerings.I think all shops that are expertise-based can seem a little off-putting at first but if you raise your hand, or make yourself known, my experience with Dodd is that they are very helpful.Their return policy is excellent, too. They just dont argue with you even when the goods crest into the thousands and that is invaluable to me--much more so than someone lapping at my heels, waiting for my every word.

Staff was very helpful and friendly. I went to buy a macro lens with a general idea of what I wanted and the employee helped me to make a final decision based off of my needs. There was a good sale going on at the time so I also picked up a Manfrotto camera bag for less than half of what other places wanted if you include the rebate from Manfrotto.

Corey H got me setup with my first 35mm slr camera and film, lens, strap, and bag, while giving me the right direction to get my old sx 70 sonar serviced.these guys are awesome, friendly, and love to see pros and new photographers, theyre my #1 stop for anything film and camera related!in short, they did an exemplary job and truly impressed me. 5/5 just isnt enough stars

Dodd is an excellent store that houses not only great photo equipment but great employees. The service is great, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The rental department is just a bonus and have what Im looking for 99% of the time! Highly recommended!

I shop at the Cincinnati store all the time. The staff is super helpful and can always solve my problems or answer my many questions. They also have a huge selection. I have sent several friends to Dodd to get a camera. They have great cameras for beginners to pros.

Had my first experience at Dodd yesterday and could not offer up more praise. I bounced between a few staff members throughout the exchange, and each one was very courteous, knowledgeable, and friendly. The trade-in prices were very fair, and the cashier threw in as many discounts as she could find for me when it came to the new purchase. I have shopped exclusively online in the past, but Dodd will be my stop for future purchases.

First of all they never answer the phone when you call them. It rings three times and goes to a mailbox that is full.Their prices are high. I am surprised they are even still in business considering most brick and mortar stores went under due to not being able to compete with online prices. Their customer service is atrocious and it takes forever to get rung up if all the staff is with customers. I tried to buy film and waited 30 minutes before I just left because the two sales staff were busy trying to sell their over priced equipment.K&R in Ft. Mitchell is a far better camera store with a bigger used selection and one on one customer service.

GREAT camera store! Im so glad I found this place. Not only do they have a good selection, but the service is excellent. I needed to rent a camera and lens for a big photo shoot and Hal B., the rental manager, walked me through the process and made sure I got exactly what I needed.I normally wouldnt think about buying a camera or lens at a local shop. Thats changed now. Ill be buying most, if not all, of my equipment there!

Was planning on buying a new camera. No one approached or greeted me in any way. This is upsetting because I do like to shop local whenever possible. Now Im left with either driving to Lexington and going to Murphys or shopping online.

Seems like a fairly busy camera shop. My experience may not be typical but I needed a modeling bulb for a studio light. They told me they had one in the Cleveland store and would have it transferred to the Cincinnati location on 1 day. My order was placed 1 week prior. I called to check on the order 2 days following and they were having route driver issues. Theyve still not contacted me. I guess they never worked out the route driver issue. Needless to say I had to take my business elsewhere: B&H online and Adorama, fast delivery and friendly customer service. Cant say either of those for Dodd Camera.

I had inquired about a lens for my Nikon D750 of which was no longer available. The salesman wanted to sell me the newer version of the same lens which wasnt as good. After mentioning the difference between them the salesman offered me a used one for $150 less than what they originally sold for ($250 more than the new one). Wasnt very happy about that. A couple days later I decided on a different lens that I wanted more . Went to the store and checked it out and took my lens I wanted to trade, (just over a month old and only took 3 pictures with and only time it was out of the bag) and was offered 1/4 of what I paid for it towards a $2000 lens. Decided that wasnt a reasonable offer and lost respect for the place. Went home and ordered the lens online from another place and giving my $650 lens away since I would rather give it to someone I dont know than someone just trying to steal it. Wont give them another chance for my business, they had 2 chances
