Our New Years Eve Bouillabaisse was amazing! Clams, Mussels, Shrimp, Scallops and Halibut, all from Hyde Park Fine Meats (AND FISH)

I just bought and cooked short ribs from this shop over the weekend. They were divine- perfectly cut and carefully wrapped, with excellent flavor and texture. I’ll definitely be back for other meats!

Great neighborhood butcher shop

This place is amazing! There’s a great selection of different cuts, proteins and produce. Whenever I have questions, the employees are friendly & know what they’re talking about. I’m also impressed with the measures and dedication they have to bring safe. This is definitely a hidden gem & a local business I’ll shop at in the future!

Hyde Park Meats has very high quality products and an incredibly accommodating staff. Every time I have called with a request, they have met my expectations and more. John is particularly knowledgeable and helpful, but really the entire staff does a great job. And I have to mention the chicken pot pies. Delicious and big! I highly recommend HP Meats.

Hyde Park Meats always delivers. The quality of their meats and sides cant be beat. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Small but good craft beer selection as well. Ive been most impressed by the owner John who has advised me many times on best ways to prep and smoke meats (brisket, pork shoulder, salmon, chicken), to the delight of my guests who have really enjoyed the food. Highly recommend stopping in sometime, you wont regret it!

Love the tenderloin, bacon, salmon; delicious 16 Brix bread; and the best homemade red sauce. Delicious peaches and tomatoes in season. I like supporting a locally owned, independent grocer.

He also has excellent homemade soups, deserts, sides and other features that are all very good. Great place, was driving by and stopped in. Great selection of steaks, fresh salmon, and more. Also has a deli area with homemade sides. I ordered a roast beef sandwich and white cheddar mac and cheese with bacon. Super delicious stuffed sandwich piled high with thin sliced homemade roast beef. I will be stopping here often! It was the first time I was there. I bought some deli meat and cheese. They make their own roast beef. Its good.

This place cannot be beat. The meat and prepared foods are all delicious, and of the highest quality. They offer all of the basics, too (some produce, pasta, bread, canned foods), and have a small selection of good wines. They try to keep most of their offerings local if they can (local ice cream, bread, baked goods). Last but not least, the staff will go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and to get you what you need. The prices are going to be slightly higher than a big grocery store, but the convenience, quality, and friendliness is well worth it.

Great microbrew selection that is constantly changing. Found some zombie dust there. Chicken pot pies are so good and only $7.00. Same price at Kroger for 1/3 of the deliciousness!

I love shopping here. The meat is fantastic and the service is great. We get our turkey for Thanksgiving here every year. The prices are a little higher than a grocery store but the quality is 10 times better. I suggest you stop by and try them. There are so few butchers around these days we need to support the ones we have!

Neighbors. This is a great place to buy meat, poultry and seafood, but it is also a great place to see your neighbors and catch up on local happenings. This place has really decent prices and selection, but the customer service and personal touch is the reason to keep coming back.

EDIT- added stars because the owner took the time to address the issue.The store was very clean and organized, and the food offered looked amazing, but sadly Ill never get a chance to find out for myself. I was immediately greeted by one employee who asked what I was looking for and then turned away. However, an older gentleman moved in and was waiting to hear my response. I told him that I was looking to put together a charcuterie tray and wanted to see what kind of meats they had available. Without saying a word, he looked at a third guy who asked me when I needed it for. I said it was for Christmas and before I could explain that I just wanted the meat (not for them to make the tray) he cut me off and said they couldnt do it. Then he started yelling to everyone working that they couldnt take any more orders for Christmas. I just smiled and said thanks anyway. As I was walking towards the door he did apologize for not being able to help me. Now Im off to find a butcher shop that can slice deli meat on the same day. The food looked good so give them a try, but just be prepared to have to fight to give them your money. LOL

This is in response to the below reply, I have an excellent memory. I asked for gizzards which I was told you were out of being the day before thanksgiving. You then said you had necks. I said I would take them all. There were maybe 4 in the pkg. The rest were RANDOM parts of the turkey. I have no reason to lie if it was not done intentionally Ill take you at your word but for someone to not pay attention like that is confusing to me as a patron.

I went in as a sad, pathetic man and came out as a certified pro. They actually battled each other in front of me on the appropriate cut of meat... and then the seasoning I should use. Then they jousted on how I should cook it. I paid handsomely for my birthday cut of ribeye, but I feel like it was of very high value. I’ll be back. Thanks, guys.

High quality meats and an excellent staff!

Paid $44 for 1.75 lb of NY strip. They don’t post their prices. You find out at the checkout unless you ask. It’s a lot to pay for the amount of gristle and fat that was on the meat -very disappointed. And I won’t be back.
