I finally got to take my young boys to use their gift cards at this phenomenal neighborhood bookstore since theyve opened back up for in-person browsing. My oldest (10) was really taking his time going through their small, but very carefully curated childrens section. Sarah, who is amazing (!!), came over and asked him a few questions about his recent reads and favorites, and then appeared with an armful of additional books for him to peruse. So thoughtful and knowledgeable. Love it!! He chose three of her recommendations and is currently enjoying them. Highly recommend!

Great selection of kids books and love their small paper craft kits as little enclosures for greeting cards. I always find at least a couple of new, cutting edge novels for myself.

You wont find another store that takes as much care and personal touch with their mail orders. Local orders ship for a very reasonable rate and often go out within 24 hrs. Staff is personable and order updates or email inquiries are always answered quickly. Beautiful space for kids! A locally owned gem that should not be missed.

I emailed the owner if he had Of Women and Salt available or how soon he could get it. He had 2 copies on the fiction shelves. With the generous store hours, it was easy to pick up this new novel on my way to dinner! When I looked at my receipt later, I learned I gained points in my Frequent Buyer Status (remaining from pre-COVID). Emphatically recommend you check out this friendly, intelligent bookstore in Northside!

The best curated local bookstore Ive seen in years. This quiet shop packs a punch with fantastic publishers and thoughtful balance of award-winners and lesser known authors. Its rare for us to see so many of our favorites and books recommended to us all in one bookstore.

A beautiful bookstore with an outstanding collection of thoutghtfull curated books and gifts. Really incredible stock for all ages and interests. They also do lovely gift wrapping and before the pandemic had cool collab pop-ups with local artisans. During the pandemic they have shifted to ensure shopping and delivery or pick up is easy and fast. A true gem!!

Wonderful hometown book store. I was able to book a private shopping appointment and it was great to see how serious they took safely. They have an awesome selection of books, puzzles, and stationary.

Unfortunately I havent been able to visit in person, but Ive ordered twice online and Im so pleased that we have such a great local independent bookstore now! I preordered a book recently and it ended up coming a few days late, which isnt something that bothers me, but they were so prompt about emailing me and letting me know they were waiting on the shipment that I never had to worry about it being a lost package. Truly such amazing customer service, I had to write a review and gush a bit. Please order your books (and puzzles!) from here so I can visit in person one day!

This is a fantastic little bookstore in a very cool neighborhood. The person working there gave me some solid book recommendations and a perfect dinner recommendation to boot. If you happen to be a woodworker, the selection of relevant books is among the best Ive seen at a brick and mortar store.

One of the best curated collections of books I’ve seen in a LONG time! While the space is small, every inch is used to its utmost potential. My first trip there I found 3 books I may never have come across - and my life would have been lacking from the oversight. Great bookstore!

Pleasant atmosphere, nice selection of books, including childrens. Both bookseller Sarah and owner Greg took time to say hello and tell us about their store. This is a place to make a personal connection and run into a book or two that you might not notice in a larger store.

Downbound has an incredible selection of adult and children’s books. They also carry gift items from local artists. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly and they have a great customer rewards program!

I love this book store which is just a block away from our shop. My mom was in a super bummed out mood last night because she had finished her puzzle and had no books to read. All I had to do was make a phone call to Greg at Downbound and we made arrangements for my mom to pick out some stuff from their website. Another phone call to pay her bill and I walked over, Greg came out in a mask and handed me my moms stuff and I went on my way. This is how we do business during a global pandemic.
