+ Ive had great experiences here each time I go. This last time, I left an important part at the store after buying it and Mark drove out to bring it to me after work. Thanks Mark!+ Theyre honest about wait times for parts during COVID. They gave me a time parts would come in and also offered a similar part for just a few bucks more I could take home today. Supply chains are all messed up, but theyre doing what they can.+/- Dont expect the vibes to feel like a bright sunny day or overly positive. These guys know what theyre doing and arent following the trend of being supper happy and offering bright customer service most people are used to. They have the experience in fixing, selling and offering advise for where to ride. They want to see you have fun, they just wont be smiling while they chat haha. No problem to me!+/- Theyre approach to fitting helmets is If it fits, it fits. where as other places youll be brought out helmets to try and shown sunglasses that match, or have your head measured to find the right size e.Example bike brands available: Basso & Marin

After using this bike shop for several times, here is why I dont recommend.First, I agree with some of the other reviews that the attitudes of the shop personal are sometimes questionable. One day they are very nice and the next day they are rude. Not sure what is up with that.Second, from terms of reliability of the repairs, my experience is that the repairs do not hold up. I am currently riding the Transamerica Bike Route across the US and had them replace all my brake/shifting cables as well as adjust the brakes. Day 1: front brakes failed because they didnt tighten the right bolt so I adjusted it myself. Now 3 weeks in (1000 miles) and the cables for the shifters caused friction because of the cables they used (according to the bike shop that fixed it) and created a failure to shift. Easy fix but it shouldnt have happened with new cables. These are the only two issues I have had with the bike- even before a flat tire on this trip! They did replace the tires and tubes and those have held up well.Third is the price. I dont know the standard of prices in regards to repair and I understand it is a functioning business, but I dont agree with their pricing. I paid hundreds of dollars for the brakes, cables, tire replacement and tubes. The shop I went to in Illinois charged me $38 and replaced all the cables, adjusted the front and rear derailers, and checked general maintenance.Pros: they are upfront with pricing and are able to tell you when the bike will be fixed. I definitely appreciated that regarding their service. My advice is to shop around different bike shops if you need a repair, this place isnt bad but I dont think I will use their service again.

The front tire of my bicycle went flat, so I called the following day and received a same-day appointment. They repaired it very quickly and for what seems to be a good price. They also noticed an issue with my spokes and applied a temporary fix. On top of that, its location is very convient for students at UC.

These guys are just plain rude. Ive gone in several times and am treated like Im a low priority to them- even when Im the only customer in the shop. Heres a prime story of why I dont shop there anymoreIm the only person in the shop with 3 employees. It takes them 10 minutes just to approach me at the counter and great me. Im looking for a 27.5 tube, pretty simple. But Im new to biking (I bought my bike WITH them) so I bring my tire in just to be sure. They look at my tire and sell me 3 tubes, all too big. I come back the next day after trying to fit them, and tell them of my troubles. Im not trying to cause an argument or any trouble, so I tell them what happened and say I want to buy tubes that fit my bike. I dont even ask for a refund. One of the managers (bald dude with glasses) comes up to me and tells me that Im doing it wrong. He says its a user error. I ask him to change the tube himself then if hes so sure of it, in which he replys they dont do this at the shop. Which is total bs, that is a repair that would take him all of 5 minutes. So I walk out without buying anything furious.I go to Spun Cyclery and they give me a tube that fits in minutes. They even taught me some cool tricks on how to replace the tube quicker.Moral of the story- they dont care about you at Campus Cyclery. Youre jusy another number to them. Screw these D bags, go support people who actually care about their customers.

Im a frequent rider of a decent bike with a Shimano 105 groupset . Fairly good quality bike Ive had for about 4-5 years. Id been having problems with my gears shifting properly for a couple of years I took the bike to another bike shop 3-4 times for tune ups, but the problem persisted. This time, I decided to take the bike to Campus Cyclery since the store is on my way to work. I picked up my bike from Campus Cyclery on Thursday and rode over the weekend; and, WOW!, the problem was fixed! Smooth gear changes front and back and no chain noise. What a relief. Thanks Campus Cyclery!

The gentleman we had the misfortune of dealing with was totally rude and acted like we were completely bothering him. I was hit by a van a few weeks ago and my specialized frame was trashed. My boyfriend and I were there trying to look at a Marin gravel bike, and we were consistently told not to touch the bikes without permission, and when I asked to look at a 50cm Marin, he refused to unlock it and let me at least sit on it for sizing. At that point we said screw it and just left. We were trying to support a local shop with everything going on, but this was the worst attempt at buying a bike experience ever. Between his sighs, eye rolls, storming off, and refusal to let me look at a bike I was wanting to buy, we will never be going there again. Hell, Montgomery cyclery has better service than that.

They are nice folks who will treat you right and give you a fair price and outstanding service, to say nothing of the fact they have free parking in the back, which as anyone who has shopped on McMillan St. knows is huge.I get all my service and parts there and buy all my bikes from them - from my daily commuter to my carbon frame roadie. Go to Campus Cyclery you will not be disappointed. Some bike shops are like wine shops, the staff knows everything better and their opinion is the most important and it doesnt know what you want or like or can afford, they know whats best for you. Fortunately, Campus Cyclery is not like that at all. The folks there will work with you, within your budget and you needs, to find the right bike for you.

Best shop in Cincinnati!! Glenn is extremely knowledgeable: If he doesnt have it you dont need it! (And he can order everything). Mark and Billy are amazing in the shop and can fix and install anything. This is a shop full of people who love cycling, and love to support our cycling community. From entry level, kids bikes, race bikes, cyclocross bikes, commuters, I have bought them all from Campus over the years! They also arent intimidating and sell at all price points from a few hundred bucks to dream machine pro-level race bikes. Also, new bikes delivered from the dealers get totally taken apart and then rebuilt by hand: This shop wants to KNOW that everything was done correctly and safely. We are lucky to have such a great shop in town.

This is a fine shop if you know exactly what you need and have a thick skin. But the attitude of the employees has finally pushed me into writing a negative review. Id been coming to campus cyclery for probably 3 years, and consistently getting the impression that the employees thought they know better than I did. Just rude, condescending attitudes all the time. Im asking for a spoke wrench and they tell me I should just bring the wheel in and let them do it. Excuse me. Did I ask you to do it or did I ask you for a spoke wrench? Many more examples like this. Then I bought a bike there, a couple years ago now, because it was close and they had the frame I wanted. Spending $2,500 on a bike and accessories changed everything. Everyone became very friendly and helpful all of a sudden. That lasted a year. Now a couple years later, the employees seem to have forgotten that Im not some bum off the street wasting their precious time by trying to give them money. Many of my friends have had similar experiences here. If you want to be respected, go somewhere else. If you dont know exactly what youre looking for, ask someone else.

Not too much of a biker myself, but I went on a bike ride yesterday with a friend of mine and her tires were flat. Theyve always done me right. Have been there 5 times now and each time I feel like Im getting a pretty good price. - Glen and Mark are pretty helpful with whatever you have questions about. - They are super reasonable with labor rates too. - New grip tape and new transmission/brake cabling and housing ran me only $65 total with the cost of parts being $30 of the $65 - In fact I got new chain and Casset few weeks ago tires and they installed all for only $15. -- If you go in on the weekends theyve got a younger guy working there that provides the best customer experience Ive ever had at a bike shop. Dont know his name but let me tell you that dude is the man! --- Parking is easy to find on Saturday. If you are going during the week, street parking doesnt start until 6pm Mon-Fri. So bring a couple quarters with you for paid parking just 3 blocks away.

Unfortunately biking attracts a bunch of snobs and nothing else could be said about the shop owner. (I think his name is Glenn) Not only are they unpleasant to talk to and do business with, their service was poor at best.I paid nearly 300$ for them to replace my bike tires and cassette, cuz I needed it for my bike tour in less than 3 days. I explained that my chain is brand new but Glenn argued I need a new one because an extra link is needed. I obliged.Well, I go to get my bike, I was the only customer there. I say hi and it takes them 15 minutes to attend to me while they were just chatting with each other. Esp Glenn was just hanging bike caps. Like what the hell! Do you even know how to do business? Well, keeping my niceties aside I insist that I am waiting and I am here to get the bike. He brings it, but doesnt bring the original chain and cassette which I think is just such a cheap move. When I ask for it, he delegates it to another mechanic. Very unprofessional and disrespectful. And thats not the end of it. I come back and ride the bike, turns out the chain is rattling and the gears dont shift properly. I take it to another bike shop thats close to my place: Spun bicycles. The guy over there finds out that I needed to shorten my chain by one link. He does that, and everythings smooth and crisp like it should be. I mean I cant imagine someone running a bike shop who cant even install a freaking chain properly.Utterly disappointing and a total disgrace to local bike community.

I have bought two bikes from these fine gents. The service is great. These guys know their stuff and are willing to go the extra mile. A good example is, when I bought some SKS raceblades- I could not figure out how to mount them on my aeroforks. The owner took the time to show me how to mount them...then he mounted them- free of charge. Not only are they a business, but they are also a great group of advocates for bicycle culture and cycling safety. I have been on rides with Queen City Bike Club and have ridden with these guys, they kept me in the pack and taught me good safe maneuvering strategies. This just goes to show that this shop is committed to promoting cycling as a form of transport, recreation and community.I am pleased to say that I was able to get my Surly Long Haul Trucker and my wifes Marin Larkspur from this shop and they have been very helpful with getting us set up for an upcoming trip this summer. The prices are reasonable and the products are quality. That being said- Campus Cyclery is a great shop in our community.

I had been a customer there for two years, since I bought my first used racing bike; the first few times I noticed how sarcastic, careless and condescending some of the guys responded to me there. I remember a phone call that was particularly off-putting and deemed that place sucked! But since it is very close to my home I went back. Recently I bought a lame road bike that has had too many problems for spending 1,100.00 that was supposedly worth 1,400.00- get the hell out of here! Several flat tires within the first month! The chain had to be replaced because it got caught and tangled and bent, and the seat started squeaking! 60.00 for a chain within the month after paying over 1,000.00....I intensely dislike the bike and the people who work there. I dont recommend it personally, but this is just my experience. Maybe they are great guys? There is Team Cycling and Fitness I would go to also, but thats across town on Colerain, and I dont drive-I noticed they are much more friendly and seem to care to interact with the customers.
