Really great service and super fast! I spoke with Larry on the phone, and I believe he did most of the repairs as well. He was so nice, professional and helpful and explained everything to me that was going on with my older car so I know how to care for it better myself.
Excellent Service! A very Professional man named Carl quickly assessed our tire problem, fixed our issue and had us back on the road in short order. Highly recommend!
Larry took care of a few bent wheels and new tires that I needed. Guy did an absolutely awesome job keeping me informed throughout the repair process. I would highly recommend.
I own a Mazda and took it here when the check engine light came on. They said they knew what the problem was and said the intake manifold needed be replaced. I agreed but after the replacement the engine light stayed on. They said the car computer needed to adjust to the replaced part. However, the light never turned off. Finally took it to a Mazda dealership where they said the computer explanation didn’t make sense, the problem all along has been a different part, and replacing the intake manifold didn’t help anything. So, I spent around $1,000 replacing a part that wasn’t broken, didn’t address the actual problem, and had the real repair delayed by several months because of poor recommendations from this garage. The staff is very nice and mean well, and maybe this is Mazda specific knowledge and they’re better with other cars. That said, will not be returning here for further service
Do not use Bob Sumerel in the Hyde Park Plaza they are predators . My 19 year old daughter who is a college student had her car towed by AAA to Bob Sumerel in the Hyde Park Plaza. It took 2 days and several phone calls for them to even look at the car. When they finally got around to taking a look at the car they proceeded to call my daughter instead of myself after I requested several times that they talk directly with me. They obviously wanted to speak with her because they tried to convince her to pay $350 for a replacement of a part that costs $70 and takes less than 90 seconds to swap out plus they werent even sure if that was the issue since they had ran the car all day and they really couldnt find what was wrong. We obviously decided to take the car elsewhere to get it repaired. When my daughter picked the car up they were very rude and she got about a 1/2 miles out of the parking lot w her car broke down again. She called back to Bob Sumerel and the Hyde Park Plaza to explain what had happened and they laughed at her and told her she needs to take it to the other place. Do not take your business to this location these people are truly predators.
My car broke down on Good Friday while traveling. Eric told us to come over and he checked it out right away. Although the car was a goner ( we barely made it) he offered us a ride to the hotel, showed us some good restaurants on the way and also gave is advice on what we could do with the car. I would highly recommend this company, awesome customer service!
Had 35 series low profile tires installed on my Golf R here. Initial install I felt the staff was a bit rude, but fine just put my tires on. Both of my encounters in this store I seemed like an inconvenience to the staff and was even hung up on when I was called for my car being ready. Sorry for bringing you my business I guess. Come to find out not only was the staff rude, but is not proficient in installing low profile tires. I sprayed the tires down with soap to see where the leak was coming from. The bead was leaking around 75%+ of the outer side of the rim. The only reason I chose this location was because they are a tire rack installer. I went to a proficient installer and had them fix their mistake, but don’t worry Bob Sumerel Paxton, I will not be back to inconvenience you with my business ever again. You had one job, and well...
Highly recommend! I had an issue with my Yukon and they quickly diagnosed the problem, fixed the wheel bearing, and had me back on the road in no time. Larry, the manager, was extremely helpful and didnt pressure any unnecessary repairs. Great experience from start to finish!
Great service and amazing customer service. Highly recommend for anyone who needs car repair like tires.
Very frustrated with Bob Sumerel and recommend you do not go there! It all started months ago where we received a free oil change for nurses during the pandemic, turns out it was not free. Since then I continued to go there because the workers were easiest enough to deal with and this location was convenient. We went for multiple oil changes, only one time did I leave only with an oil change, they continued to say something else was wrong. Finally the last straw, I had an issue with a lock on one of my doors, and needed to check my battery. I was quoted $1500 to get everything fixed, and the quote for the battery was more than what roadside AAA quoted (red flag). With the quote, I decided check their price and go elsewhere. I got everything fixed for $421, rather than the $1500 Bob Sumerel told me it would cost. Do not go there unless you have to.
Honest and helpful. I thought I needed new tires but Larry, the manager, talked me through what he looks for and recommended that I did not need tires at this time. I bought tires from him in 2018 and this was the reason I came back. I appreciated his honesty and helpfulness. I know each person’s experience may be different but if you ask for Larry I hope yours is the same as mine.
From the initial phone call through the appointment, all of the gentlemen were very friendly, helpful and professional.
Professional friendly knowledgeable staff. Honest assessment and quick through work with a fully explained price.
The team here has always been very up front and clear with me about things. Ive purchased one set of tires from them, had them install another set, and done two alignments. Great, friendly team, and theyre always able to turn things around quickly. Updating this to share that they came through again recently on two quick tire fixes. Always top notch service from these folks.
By the time I settled my bill in the office, my run flat with a nail in it had been replaced and I was free to go!! Every person I encountered in the HP location was very pleasant to be around.....even the other customers!!Quick to see the problem. Quick to fix the problem. Friendly while I waited. Thats 5 star service for me!!
Excellent and friendly service. Needed a new tire and manger was not pushy nor tried to up sell me on the more expensive tire. Received a discount with my AAA membership on service.
Very friendly, very knowledgeable folks! Super reasonably priced tires. Larry is really awesome!
I went to get air in my tires. I went about 10 minutes before closing on a Saturday. Steven put air in all my tires and was super friendly.
I always end up coming back. Ive run into the manager at other stores/brands through the years and he is top notch.
The crew was super knowledgeable- worked to get us the best deal on a big repair and even threw in a quick fix on my husbands car. And they fixed it all in one day. Thats how you get customers! Will be coming back, thank you!
Deceptive business practices! Go anywhere else - Tire Discounters is nearby.I took my car in due to the front tires having issues going flat (not due to seasonality) and Bob Sumerel claimed to have cleaned them. They did not report any other issues with the tires. My tires almost immediately had the same issues after I took my car home, including one tire going flat within a month. I take the car back and am then told that multiple tires need to be replaced due to dry rot issues, corrosion issues, a dark spot from a bad repair, and low tread....all of this changed in a month?! Not a word then.Meanwhile, Larry lectures me on being abrasive as I ask questions trying to understand how so much changed in a month and why 2015 tires were put on my car in 2017. I couldnt get answers on what Bob Sumerel policies are to any of this and was essentially gaslighted over the whole thing. Also, I couldnt get general time estimates on when my car was ready over the course of these appointments and never got a call when my car was ready so I wasnt able to pick it up on time.Seriously - GO ANYWHERE ELSE FOR SERVICE. READ THEIR BBB REVIEWS.
I took my car in because the battery had gone dead. The new battery they (AAA) had just replaced 1 week before. I had used AAA to get it started. The reason they gave me that it had lost power was a open door light had been on and it drained the battery. 2 weeks later I was in KY and the car lost power. Good thing I wasnt on the high way. I had to replace the alternator. NEVER AGAIN will I use this shop!!
I took my car in to have a tire repaired. Slow leak. Pretty simple. I was given a time of noon for service. I dropped the car off at 11:30am. At 2:15pm I get a call asking me for a wheel lock key in order to do the repair. So, almost three hours later they begin the process for an appointment quoted for noon. So, I go to pick up the car realizing it’s not their fault if there was no wheel lock key. The problem: there was a wheel lock key in the glove compartment. Wasted my entire afternoon and still didn’t get the tire repaired because they were closing. I don’t plan to do business with this location anymore. Details and customer service are not high on their priority list.
100% fixed my tire when they easily couldve upcharged me, or sold me a new one. ill be coming here from now on. super friendly, and honest. give them your business.
Went in to get a slow leak patched and they showed me a small crack in the wheel. They couldnt fix it, but they didnt even charge me for that bit of information. :-) Thanks!
Amazing service! Very accommodating and helpful. They got me in right away and was done by the end of the day!m. Highly recommend!
We used to bring all of our cars here, when Doug Forg was the store manager. Never had a problem, everything was done well and on time, and if something failed, they made it right. After Doug left, things went downhill to the point where, for the past 6 months, we have had our cars serviced at other locations. Noticing that there was entirely new management again, we thought we would give it another shot this week. Called on Thursday, made an appointment for this morning at 8:30 to have 2 new tires put on, and the oil changed. Had a discussion with the manager about the oil. Dropped it off last night, listed tire info and oil change request on the overnight ticket. Said I needed to pick it up by 10. They werent done until noon, so when I came to get it, I was in a hurry. Got home and finally sat down to look at my ticket. It turns out that they did my tires, but did not do the oil change. I really want to be able to bring my car here, but this is not the type of service I expect.
Very nice people...Larry got to my problemRight away..
I have had great service from these guys multiple times
My brakes were squeaking a little, so I took my car to Bob Sumerel. I was quoted $1,800, and immediately knew something was off. I called a local auto shop, where the estimate was $300. Just know that if youre a woman, they will try to charge you for the most ridiculous things, and scam you out of hundreds of dollars. Will never ever be coming back here, and if youre a woman I suggest you go to Gildays on Bridgetown Road, unless you like paying hundreds of dollars for nothing.
Great work, affordable and honest
As someone who is not mechanically inclined, Ive loved the team at the Hyde Park location. I really appreciated how the manager and the team took the time to walk me through any needs that I may need in the future and red flags to keep an eye out for, without pressuring me to make purchases right then and there. I came in for a summer maintenance package, and they were kind enough to adjust the prices for me, as there were products and services that I didnt need. They were honest, friendly and patient. Im so thankful for them!
Larry went out of his way to make sure I had a safe trip. He didn’t have to but he did and that’s why I am now a lifelong customer here.
Outstanding! Thank you for fixing my tire today and saving me a towing bill 🤗🥰
Great customer service. They really go above and beyond. Also the repairs are usually fairly quick.
Great people & great service
Susan worked very hard trying to book out airfare for a trip we are taking. We are a large group traveling from different areas and going overseas. Susan spent hours with me, looking at airfare and hotel options. Her dedication to the solution was amazing and I really credit her time and patience with us. She noted some details we had overlooked, like the fact that we will need three currencies on our trip, and even spent time calling to specifically note the distance from a prospective hotel to a popular attraction in our destination city. Very thorough.
Update to my initial review.... I finally received a call back from a home office manager. Apparently my initial attempts to contact them fell through the cracks due to some staff changes. He was very apologetic for my experience. He made things right by compensating me for the key and fixing the valve stems in the other three tires.Initial Review: Most recent of 3 visits was for a slow leak in tires they had installed less than a year ago. They called and said they couldnt fix until we provided the wheel lock key. We said we dont have wheel locks. I explained they are the only people who have ever touched the tires and this didnt come up on either of the previous 2 visits in which they would have had to take the tires off. They said they ALWAYS hand back wheel lock keys to the customer at the end of every visit. If that had happened, we would have know it, because we would have had to ask what it was. So it cost me $50 and hours of time at a dealership to deal with the missing wheel lock key. Dealership explained this happens frequently - mechanic sets key on tool box, forgets, customer drives away, and when they realize they forgot they throw it away rather than get in trouble for forgetting. So while we were at the dealership, they identified and fixed the slow leak. It was because Bob Sumerel put on our new tires with OLD valve stems. This is bad practice. At a minimum I would have expected Bob Sumerel to ask us if we wanted new valve stems and recommend it. Tried talking to location manager about all of this and got no where. He took my bill from the dealership and said he would send it to corporate to see if they wanted to pay for it. Waited a week, never heard from them. So then I went on Bob Sumerels website and submitted a Contact Us form requesting a phone call to discuss an issue I couldnt resolve with the location manager. Waited another week, never heard anything. So after trying to give them multiple opportunities to resolve their mistake professionally, Im submitted this review to warn others. And to make matters worse, this will likely cost me even more money over time, as the old valve stems fail in my other three new tires.
We had our front brakes and a wheel bearing replaced here recently, which was, of course expensive. We were sad that our brakes were super squeaky afterwards. After a few months of nonstop squeaking, they checked the brakes and cleaned the pads for free. So far no more squeaking! Im glad they made it right without charging us more.
A bit pricey. Shop around and you will find a better deal most likely.
They helped me when my low tire sensor came. They squeezed me and got me on my way quickly.
Scheduled an appointment and was told on the phone they ordered the tire I needed for replacement. Went for my apt, and turns out they never actually did and did not have any record of it. The only thing that was offered was getting it in, in another 7 days.. Not to mention anytime I called, I had to sit on hold for 15+ minutes.
I have been getting tires and service repairs here for years. Doug Forg and his team have always treated me well.Today, they went beyond the call of duty by opening up early for me. I arrived 15 minutes before the store opened. Doug saw me waiting outside (windows were dark, lights not on, so I didnt see him inside). Doug opened the door anyway, repaired my flat tire in 30 minutes, and for a very reasonable amount of money had me on my way.
Upon leaving a nearby car wash my car was suddenly making a ka-thumpa sound. I drove straight there and I was pulling up the staff came out to meet me, instantly diagnosing the problem (I had run over a bolt) and repaired the tire in minutes. Outstanding customer service.
I have never been more disgusted at the customer service I was given here. The travel agent, Barb Jordan, was rude, pushy, and extremely unhelpful. She rolled her eyes incessantly, talked down to me, and made me feel like I was never welcomed to begin with. I went in cheerful and excited about my trip, but left feeling terrible. Barb should lose her job for treating members this way. Ill never go back in.
Real nice place to have your car worked on and good tires fair pricing
Told me that my transmission was 100% out and that I needed a new one. When all he did was drive it around the block and check my fluids. When I got home, I looked it up myself it was sticky in the gear console and needed clean. AAA shop was a waste of my time and treated me like I was a waste of their time. Glad I didn’t take my car to real shop and have my transmission worked on. Instead it took me less than 30 mins to fix.
We have been coming here almost everytime we need a tire repair or new tire. I came in with a flat and they were incredibly nice and fast. They did work for me for free which is unheard of just to get me to come back next time. Always will now. Thats how you treat customers, something so simple goes a very long way. Even got some good visual tips on my tires. Non pushy just informative, didnt even tell me i should get all new tires even though i definitely need them. Great guys. Thanks again it made my day after going 2 other places and not fixing my problem. Quick and easy.. A+ service
On 11/18, I had my car towed to Bob Sumerel in Finneytown because it would not start. They looked at the car and said it needed a new battery, I told them to do that and to change the coolant. They charge a $95 diagnostic fee which they told me would be applied to the battery and coolant change. When they called me to tell me they finished and told me the charge it was about $95 too much. They did NOT apply the diagnostic fee toward the other expenses as they said they would, they even denied they said that. It was full price for the diagnostic fee as a stand alone expense. These people are crooks, liars and cheats. No more business from me.
Ok. I worked at tire shops when I was younger so I know how these places typically operate. That said, this isnt like those. These guys take the time to do it right and (hate to quote that stupid jingle, but) they really do care! Had a tire that I had to put air im every couple weeks, no big deal but Ive been doing it for roughly 6 months lol. Brought it in around 10 am asking if I would still be at work by 11, dougy fresh says sure! Pulled my jeep in, pulls off the wheel, finds not one but TWO screws in the tire YIKES! Theyre pretty close together which sometimes means the tire is done for but these guys took the time to be very careful in installing 2 patches pretty close to the sidewall ( iffy results if not done right). Boom, all fixed up!! Even makes sure that the wheel is still balanced before remounting! Normally shops charge extra for that. All done, only charges me for a single patch, not for 2. NO shops do that. Im out the door with more in less than a half hour. Im a very happy guy!! With my background in automotive, Im usually highly critical of shops cause I can do it better but not with these guys. Theyve earned my trust and my business.
They dont know how to balance and Aline foreign cars. My grandma busted out the passenger side tires. Brandon and Andy put on a new front tire and the spare tire on the same side of the car, not the same axle. Plus gave it an alinement. She came back the next day and Brandon put a new tire on the rim in the trunk, and put it back into the trunk,Not on the car. The car shook on the highway and pulled. Came in on Saturday and had them change the tires around. After coming back 3 more times, they were still unable to balance the new tires they put on the car. They replaced the tire with matching tires, still they were unbalance. They didnt notice the brake calipers were locked up or the brake pads were getting smaller during the 4 times I took the car back. There was only 600 miles from last time the brakes were checked by Lexus when the car came in with damage tires. I was told that the calipers most likely locked up, and the oil leaked out,do to what ever she hit. The car came in with totally shred tires, and they didnt look to see if there was other damage done to the wheels. AAA had to tow the car from the senior center about 30 feet away.Bob Sumerel is in the business to up sales and check over tires, brakes, wheel, and basic car maintenance. Had to have Lexus balance the car tires, and put on new brakes because Bob Sumerel didnt notify us the brake pads were getting worst even when told it has a shaking problem. I had Andy test drive the car he said didnt feel a thing, but he said he doesnt drive the car enough, this was on Saturday. Lexus had the car on Monday, they balanced the tires, found the stuck Calipers, and was able to fix the issue. Bob Sumerel Needs to learn about foreign cars you put the new tires on the back of the car,not the same side, or front. Plus put in extra effort to look over damage when a car comes in on a tow truck with totally shredded tires. After spending all this time I was only able to get a refund for the balancing. I could have gotten the same tire, cheaper at Lexus and had it done right the first time. The manager Doug laughed at me after I told him about the brakes, and balancing the tires. They didnt take of my grandma theyre not going to take care of you!
Good service
When my daughter a student at uc had a problem with her car Chris at bob sumerel came thru for us. as a parent a few hundred miles away I needed help and chris was a true pro. checked everything out called me back promptly with a fair quote. did only the work I asked to be done and had her safely back on the road in a few short hours .could have not went any smootherthanks for helping our family
Had some issues, but good overall.
Went for tire patch. Tried to sell me on buying new tire versus patch. Tire had about 15k life left. Gave some bogus excuse. Went to Tire discount not only did they patch it did it for free. Will buy my SET of tires from them.
Have always had good experiences here for many years.
Always honest and upfront, wouldnt go anywhere else
Excellent service, honest technicians, I wouldnt go anywhere else
Literally the worst customer service and automotive service I ever received. I would never do business with this organization again and highly recommend you take your business elsewhere.I got a flat tire, they said they had to order the tire and it would be there in a couple of days. I dropped my car off at the agreed on time but they didnt have the tire yet but said they were going to get it that afternoon. I got a ride home and waited for them to call to confirm that they got the tire and put it on my car. I called them an hour before close and they said they would call me back. They never did. The next morning I called them and they said they werent sure about the tire and would call me back. Once again they did not call me back, and I called them 3 times that day only to be told they would call me back. I eventually showed up, and took my car back. They were rude, incompetent and terrible at their jobs.Terrible terrible place. DO NOT VISIT.
Professional and fast
