This is my favorite store of all time. Before the first time I went, I was a little anxious about the name your price set up, but its actually a lot easier to name a price than I expected. They have items color coded according to suggested price range which is very helpful. The store is a little cramped, but thats because its full of a bunch of art supplies. Ive found quite a few great items here. They have stuff for pretty much any type of art or craft.

Cool little place in the OTR neighborhood of Cincinnati. Arts and crafts resale shop but done kinda different. Spending some time in here is pretty easy to do. During covid time you are able to schedule a time to shop. If you are into arts and crafts definitely worth a stop. Also have kids stuff, kits and such.

Watercolor paper, newsprint, sketch books. A variety of yarns for knitting, crochet, and needlework both natural and synthetic fiber. Needlework needles, and circular knitting needs Tons of intresting fabric scraps, zippers, buttons, snaps and beads. Sewing machine thread. Various picture frames, cardboard tubes. Decorative paper scraps for mixed media projects. Crayons, pens, pencils, markers. And a lot more! Its a real treat going to Indigo Hippo if you love thrift shopping and art supplies.Everything is priced on a sliding scale so each person can pay what they can afford. This time I got beads, stamps, bells and a few other things. I also like to donate when I come. Makes me feel happy I can contribute to others creativity and joy! 💜💜💜

Have been donating here for a while. They require an appt. to donate or shop (materials are all donated and shopping is free). Very smart. The process is very easy. Talking to employees on the phone is always pleasant. Sometime I will shop!! Just glancing thru the window, it looks like they have a very plentiful and eclectic inventory.

I could spend hours browsing here. Im not much of an artist but the store still gives me inspiration. Every time I go they have different things. They let you pay what youre able to pay as well, which is awesome. They also have some things from local artists that they do charge a certain price for but they are still really reasonable and beautiful.

Indigo Hippo is a Cincinnati gem. Its hidden away in plain site and doesnt make a lot of noise but boy is it a treasure trove for artists amatuer and pro alike. Do you need some crayons or some paint? In search of some local crafts peoples we work for cards or candles? Need to spruce up a frame? Or are you just looking for inspiration? Well they have everything you need. They take art supply donations and their store is pay what you can, so its perfect for finding that one little thing you didnt know you needed at a bombshell price. I am often reminded of Shel Silversteins Hector the Collector; to one person this might be junk but to so many more its treasure.

I donated items to this store long before I ever visited (someone else delivered the items) and I love it! I love its mission and the entire principle on which it operates. Im starting a new business offering Inner Child creativity workshops and the selection of paper and colored pencils, markers and crayons was awesome. The selection is very broad and youll find items that dont necessarily fit into the art supply category. If you are the least bit creative, I recommend you stop in this store. The staff was extremely helpful and knew the stock well. It is a donation based system and while they do have things coded to a recommended range I was still a bit apprehensive about what I should give. The cashier suggested an amount about half of what I was expecting so I gave the amount I thought it was going to be, it was still an incredible deal. When I do my workshops, I will encourage participants to bring along any surplus supplies they have laying around and will donate to Indigo Hippo on their behalf.
