I really enjoyed my time there...a very eclectic place with something for everyone! Ill most definitely come back...
I’ve edited my review because I appreciate the response and the moment to address just general customer service. People don’t always look like a typical customer and it’s nice to be treated well always. Understanding that there are volunteers helping the cause is great. Take care
Best place to find beautiful, quality furniture and home furnishings..as well as lots of other treasure!! Artwork, designer handbags and accessories, fine and costume jewelry too. Whether you are shopping, consigning or donating..This is by FAR the best source!
+1 star because they had a wider selection than anticipated walking in. Thats the end of the positives.I was not greeted upon entering the store despite multiple employees/volunteers being present at the front of the store. I browsed jewelry and handbags at the front of the store for several minutes, and was observed that I was being watched closely - but not once asked if needed assistance. I browsed cases AT the service desk. Still ignored. When I inquired on the process for getting service, the gentlemen told me flatly You have to ask. Were low pressure sales.. He also asked me to repeat everything I said after the initial statement, implying I couldnt be understood through my mask. I was speaking clearly and loudly. I immediately even more unwelcome and uncomfortable and left the store despite wanting to purchase several items.I cannot definitively attribute my experience to being a person of color and/or due to wearing a mask, but I cant rule it out. This is especially disappointing as a part of the very community this store is supposed to support. I will not be returning.
A lovely treasure chest with beautiful volunteers to brighten your experience.
You are so right, Jerry. You would think that people raising money for people to be cared for emotionally would be kind hearted. I can tell you that that is definitely not true. The original founders were very kind spirited (especially Harry Davidow who I was screamed at for contacting by the manager of the Cancer Support Community). really hoping that people like the people they loved who passed from cancer, would be supported. Unfortunately over time, the Board was appointed by a questionable lawyer and people are hired who are not about kindness, healing and love. They quite often are about promoting their former or current business concerns much to the downfall of the money in Legacies account at PNC. This is especially harmful when the head of the Cancer Support Community is abusive verbally to one of the most devoted volunteers of 4 years and later--4 years underpaid financial manager on front of all of the staff except one. Even though this was a non profit raising money for the people needing hope and comfort, not one of the staff at Legacies was comfortable standing up to the manager of the Cancer Support Community. They were intimidated. This is not a criticism of the staff at Legacies, but an acknowledgment of the horrible situation that can happen when a clueless board disrespects a money making enterprise, or at least money making before a pandemic. Most of the employees of Legacies are better educated than the bullies on the Board who think that they are way above the intelligence of the Legacies staff. It is laughable.
My spouse and I love this shop and support it. Weve found some treasures. It is a great way to help with the cancer cure.
Extremely nice Heirloom furniture
Always fun to pop in. always something very interesting to look at and quite often something that begs purchase
My parents have dealt with Legacies for a decade. They are downsizing. Had an inquiry about a couch set. The staff said they could probably not sell the item, but they could donate it to a needy family. My parents thought that was ok. They entered a few days later to see their couches listed for about 700 dollars. When they inquired they were told the couches had sold and would receive no money. THEY LIED. We are filing a report with the Better Business Bureau.
First time at Legacies. Very nice merchandise. The volunteer workers were very friendly and helpful. We ended up buying a very nice 35 yo leather chair.
Awesome deals and a wide variety of furniture and jewelry benefiting a great cause
Love going here to just look and occasionally find something for the house at a good price, supporting a good cause.
The stock changes frequently. Good prices on furniture and Ive seen some here that I liked a great deal. If you like vintage jewelry have a look here. Im usually pleased with the vintage lighting fixtures. The artworks are not to my tastes but I think someone else would like them.Theres the usual odd pieces of vintage glass and ceramics, but not excessively.
3850 Paxton Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45299 Hyde ParkI would not recommend legacies upscale resale for consignment. I took in 2 Hermès scarves one Chanel scarf 10 days before Covid shut down which means I had items for consignment for 10 days. They re-opened on 6/9/2020 .The day they opened I took my paperwork in and had them extend my sale time to compensate for their 84 days of being closed. The person that initialed the paperwork E. S. On the reopening date of 6/9/2020 Saying that extended pricing would be for 90 days Which I understood to be from reopening date, Which would be through September 9 TH .that would be 90 days from June 9.I went up today to check on items and heard they were sold but under their calculation I had missed out and that it was considered donated items, they kept the money . Hermès scarf thats sold yesterday sold for 175.The lady I talked to you today kept arguing with me saying that my calculations were wrong that the 90 extended days was calculated from the day I took things in not from June 6 /20/20 . Which in other words means I absolutely got no extended time and the 90 days should be up September 6. Legacies is a rip, off keep an eye on things you take in and the date you have them brought in. I have included photos of the day I had my paperwork extended for 90 days but they still say my calculations are wrong ! So I am out of 250+ dollars! I am so disappointed and upset !They make the rules up as they go along and are not looking out for your consignment welfare but more for their pockets. They take 50% of all sales unless items are donated then they keep items at 100%. I do not recommend this place as an honest business! According to the contract they do not have to contact you to let you know anything about your consigned items. You would think they would have the decency to contact sellers especially during this time of COVID19. Shame on you LEGACIES !
Rude. Short. Interrupted me after three words on the phone. Have a one of a kind Very nice table that could benefit this place’s cancer cause. Which I now even question. When doing anything for a “cause” would seem to mean there are compassionate, caring people behind it. Seems like a Front to me. Slap the words ‘To benefit cancer’ on a business and caring people show up. “Upscale”’doesn’t have to mean rude and better than you. Does here.
Always fun to browse. Never know when youll find a gem.
We go to Legacies almost weekly - and rarely leave without purchasing a couple of things. We love all the treasures we find there. The volunteers are very friendly and helpful !
RHYMES WITH “WITCHES”Rude personnel and lost my item. Masochists ONLY should visit this place. The lady with a lot of jewelry was exceptionally rude to me with no reason and acted like she was doing me a favor to talk to me.I don’t know if the people here are volunteers or paid for their time, but I know that a couple of them need to find another line of work.I don’t care if the proceeds benefit charity or not - I DON’T NEED ABUSIVE TREATMENT IF I AM DONATING SOMETHING. I wish that I could be more positive but my interactions here have been miserable in all regards. Who is accountable here?I am not going to mention the fact that they lost the item that I had entrusted to them for sale.
Looking for something unusual? This is the place. I stroll through every Sunday. There is a lot to see so take your time. Art, furniture, glasswear, jewelry. They have it. It is such a great cause as well. The staff are helpful and will answer any questions you have. I have donated as well as purchased items. Either way its a great place.
My first time visiting this place, a bit of a surprise, any good way, very decent prices for our nice things
Very nice. Nicely arranged a nice mix of items in varying prices. Loved it and really loved the jewelry
I just love these folks. Beautiful people with beautiful merchandise. A true treasure hunt because everything they have is treasure.
Unfortunately Ill no longer do business with this company. Beware. Took a high priced item in the same way Ive always proceeded with items and they priced way under what I suggested and then discounted the item before the allotted time then sold to an employee with a 20% off coupon. When I confronted them they claimed to have lost the pricing sheet and blamed it on me for not meeting with someone when I dropped it off (which I very rarely have ever done, even with high priced items). First call I was told by the Business manager I would get reimbursed. Never saw a check. Phone calls never returned when I left numerous messages. Finally got in touch with the business manager who right away transferred me to someone else and apologized and said she thought it was taken care of (?) Finally was told they no longer wanted my business because it wasnt a good fit. This is wrong from the beginning and thats why I have spent so much time trying to get satisfaction for something that is rightfully mine. Only thing I can do now is tell others of my experience. Beware as they blame the customer for their mistakes. So sad.
BEWARE, NOT all is as it seems or they say! I should have read the other reviews before consigning w/this place like others have WARNED! If an employee or family member of an employee wants an item you bring in to consign, they mark it WAY below the normal starting selling price (like 50% before to start off what they normally do from day 1), then discount it AGAIN BEFORE the alloted stated timeframe they specify in their contract to cosign w/them. Then they discount it again w/20% so the employees can buy it dirt cheap! Basically like fraud & scam if you really think about it. They dont put the regular usual time slots & prices if an employee there likes it & wants it, they basically make it so they can have it for near FREE from the jump & day 1 & give no one else a chance to buy it for the right price first & the customer make their money for the right timeframe it should be out before discounted. This is NOT right, ethical or moral by any means whatsoever. Makes me question the entire Cancer Charity thing as well if they have employees who can do this & such an abhorrent unethical thing to basically give away nice items customers come in to consign & expect that they will be properly priced, sat out for the STATED allotted timeframe promised before being discounted further & then before being discounted again after that timeframe. ALL items should be treated the same way as they promised & be priced appropriately to the stores guidelines fairly NOT based on if one of their employees wants it for themselves, so they screw the customer & mark it way below the normal appropriate starting price & then discount it way sooner to ensure the employee gets it. I doubt the item ever even gets sit out when an employee wants it! I am so disappointed & lost trust in this place & their values & moral compass. Right is right & wrong is wrong. If you have stated promised timeframes for items consigned, they should be fully utilized as promised & prices should not be discounted at first time slot as also promised. Thats not what happened w/our items & its not right. If the owners are in on this scheme too, shame on them. If they & their employees want an item when it comes in on day one, they should pay what any other customer would for wanting it on day one & not dupe the consigner just b/c the employees want it. Thats NOT right, no way, no how, no shape or form & you know it isnt! Be better people! God is watching & sees every action & your heart & intentions when you beat the very selling system you have in place just b/c you want an item that comes in, doesnt mean you get to screw the consigning customer who brought it in. I will be watching much closer w/my remaining items, taking pictures of the items, prices on them & have others stopping in anonymously to check on them too & keep an eye out for anymore deception or break in procedure or time frames. This is a public business where you promise consigners certain procedures, timeframes & pricing for consigning & if you are not doing & following those procedures fully, you are in fact not living up to your end of the contract of consigning. Every consigner should be able to trust what your procedure is will be followed correctly as promised for their items. The system is not based on if your employees want something, we have to take less & they get our items near free. Thats not right & you all know it. How would you feel, put yourself in our places? Its not right to take items & sell them to your employees for way cheaper from the start & not make them pay what any other customer would & then screw the consigner out of that timeframe sell & full length of price at full price. Its really sad you cant trust anyone anymore today. REALLY SAD!
Dale is the best salesman EVER! Will be back! One of my favorite places to shop now.
This isnt on my side of town, but we were near Crossroads Church in Oakley, so we went to this little shopping center weve never been to before. it was really nice they had nice things. I bought a necklace and would go to this store more often if it was closer.
Amazing shop for an amazing charity!!!
Great finds for a certain type and age of folks. Looking for that special piece you may not find anywhere else for there price. Great staff.
This is a great consignment shop in Hyde Park Plaza that has everything from furniture to cake platters and bird cages. The inventory changes constantly so you never know what youll find. Its a fun store to explore and its super conveniently located next to Snooty Fox. When my wife is shopping next door for clothes I come here to go treasure hunting.
This is always my go to place for unusual pieces. For myself and for gifts. I can always find something that works, and I enjoy chatting with the friendly ladies here.
I adore this place and its staff. I have purchased several little things for my apartment...the larger items like furniture can be pricey but lots of lovely things at all price levels. Love the Xmas items
