My 19 year old daughters car was stuck on the side of the road and I live in another state. We found out that this pep boys was very close to where the car was. I looked them up and saw that they offer a very decently priced tow to their shop so I called. They were very helpful on the phone. Once ordered, the tow truck was there within 30 minutes! Once at the shop, they took very good care of my daughter, communicated well, and did not try to fix anything that wasnt broken. I even received a follow up call from the tow truck provider to make sure we got where we needed to go and that the truck showed up in a timely manner. Wow I am impressed. If I lived in the area I would give them all my business. Bravo!

I had an oil change done as walk in. Was promised that it will be done at 2 pm today. Came back 2pm just to be told it will be another hour because of lunch break. I would understand if they disclose the lunch break when I came checked in but no mention. I was told I can pull out my car, these is after 2 1/2 hours of waiting! What kind of costumer service is that! With two kids with me and a lot of waiting this is unacceptable. If there is an option to give 0 stars I would. Not to do business with this branch ever!

Quick pick up service for an online order. The service agent who processed my order was friendly and answered all of my questions about installing the new car battery. He also carried the battery out to my car for me and carried in the replacement for recycling/fee refund. Ill definitely be back the next time I need to make a car-related purchase.

Service time they gave match the time my car was done. They didnt offer me the information of my complimentary inspection that came with my package. So I was a bit unpleased with that. But the did give me a cheaper deal and free rotation on my tires. So that was nice.

I would never take my car back to this place, they dont have enough mechanics to call themselves a repair shop. they kept my car overnight just to do a brake job and I took it in at 12:30 in the afternoon. And they never called to inform me that they would not be able to complete the job. 😤 Never again!!!

Had an appointment for a set of tires, balance, alignment and install @ 1pm. Arrived 15 minutes early to take care of paperwork. After standing there for about 15 minutes, someone finally asked if I needed help. Strike 1. Price increased exponentially when I arrived, from when I spoke to them on the phone to make the appointment. The salesman said he gave me the best price possible. Strike 2. Then I informed them I would need to wait for it and was told itd take 2 hours of my time... Ok.... 1 1/2 later they still had not taken my car back. Strike 3. I took my keys and left. As I was driving out the parking lot, the manager called and offered to make the deal even better, If Id come back and allow them to get right to the car and get me on my way. I asked him why that wasnt their attitude from the get go, he didnt have an answer for me. I went to a competitor and had a set installed in an hour at mush less cost. This is not the first time Ive encountered issues with this particular Pepboys. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere. The only thing they cared about was loosing $, but dont take customer service seriously. P. S. Ive never before posted a bad review, and one star is too generous.

Went for an oil change and the pepboys mechanic left the undercarriage dripping with oil. Called the store to speak with the manager and they hung up. Ended up with dripping oil on new stamped concrete driveway. Dont recommend this place for service- No pride in work!! This establishment does not value their customers. Store is a mess and the garage area, even worse. So sad.

Horrible customer service. I got passed from service to battery testing back to service back to battery testing, and finally to check out. No one seems to know how to process a replacement battery that was under warranty. There was an additional cost of 19 dollars because the optima battery was on sale when I bought it three years ago. What?? I just paid and got the hell out of this confusing place. My time is more valuable. Wont be coming back.

Paid over $400 for rear brake job; rotors and pad only!!!! I knew I was in trouble when the price kept sliding, and I knew I was being worked when it went from $400 to over $600 to change two bolts!!! Glad I didnt keep the car there overnight. Showed the receipt to another pep boys near my house, and they gave me that look!!2nd star is because there are some good people there.

Very good shopping experience. Definitely recommend. Ive gone to other Auto parts stores and had the complete opposite experience, Pep Boys on Pipeline and Grand in Chino is Awesome!!!

Called to make appointment to have 2 tires put on for Saturday morning.The service writer said “ instead of coming Saturday morning, come now we are slow”.So I said great. I just got home from work, (5:45) but I be there within the hour.Got there at 630 pm and when I was written up for the work I was told should be complete by 845 to 9 o clock.He said there is a lot of work in front of me- sorryI was upset at the poor service and communication at this store. Seems every time I call for a parts related question I’m put on hold for a long minute and then the phone “disconnects” (hangs up). Then I call back and the employee that I literally just spoke to, before getting placed on hold/disconnected, needs to be refreshed on what they were looking for while I was on hold the first time, so then I get placed on hold a second time. Today I was on hold the second time around for over 15 minutes before I hung up. This isn’t the first time, maybe it’s just my luck but it’s always this location. Idk.

At the Chino location I had three services done. The first was a balancing of the tires. A week later I had the oil changed and break pads redone and finally a few weeks later the alignment done. Now I did not drive it a whole lot so I did not notice until I drove it back to Orange County that the truck bounced considerably and pulled. When I returned the truck I told my dad about the issues with the truck despite being just serviced.He took it back to his Pep BoysWhat he found out shocked me. The Truck was considerably off balance and the alignment was barely adjusted. After the other store fixed the alignment and balancing the Truck was fixed again. You would think that the standards of a company such as Pep Boys would be held in all of its locations. But the reality is that it is not. The store in Chino did not service the truck properly and basically did the least amount of work possible.I am happy my father has a place to go that does quality work. I however, will not be returning to the store in Chino.

We waited for at least 1/2hr to speak to a service agent regarding our online oil change service appointment. Once we we approached the service agent to explain in detail regarding our service appointtmnenr he responded that they will not be able to service us until tomorrow. FOR AN OIL CHANGE....HOW ABSURD IS THIS!!!! If they are short handed I get it but irresponsible employees who call out or just plainly lag on work orders is not working for Pep Boys Service Department. This isnt the first time. I waited an hour the last time and was told my car has not been looked at reason being because they only had one mechanic available. The other one called out. I try to patronize this place but this is the second time they disappoint me. One more time and they are out. Thank you

I will not return here. Never been a fan of pep-boys there service is terrible. I try to give this place a chance and this is the third time I’ve walked out after waiting on the cash register clerk over ten mins before walking out it doesn’t take that long to scan a bar code and press the debit key so a customer can pay. I don’t blame the clerk as much as I blame poor management. Unless you have 30 mins to wait to check out I don’t recommend this pep-boys

I have never felt so swindled in my entire life. The service was terrible they attempted to charge me for work that had never completed and every time I talk to them they changed the price for the same work. I would never recommend going to this location they were awful. I wish this was an isolated experience however earlier this year when I went to try to buy tires I could never get a straight answer on cost or a call back from a representative to answer any of my questions before buying. I went to the one in Ontario instead. Beware before you come to this location there are others that are close by as well that provide much better service.

Unfortunately, I have to give add another poor rating for Pep Boys, Chino, CA at Grand to the very low ratings that others have given. I was hesitant to use Pep Boys, because I received very poor service at Pop Boys when I lived in Virginia. Since I moved to California, I reluctantly want to give Pep Boys another chance since I havent used Pep Boys for over a decade. I mean, there are so many good car repair shops in Los Angeles that are honest and efficient - Why would I use Pep Boys. Well, the moment came when a Bosch car battery for my BMW was on sale. I called online customer service and they arranged the battery to be put in at Chino location at Grand on Sunday at 12:30pm. I got there early, around 12:20pm, and I asked where to check in. A young man named Gary manned one station and an older Filipino gentlemen manned the other station. They were working on some kind of complicated orders with the two customers at the two stations. Im standing behind a lady who was in front of me. Gary was slow and the Filipino gentleman finished first waved for the lady in front of me to go to his station. I was thinking to myself, okay, finally, as I have been waiting for about 7-10 minutes already. The lady had some complicated issues and took a while. Finally, both of the stations were cleared and Im the only customer standing in line. However, nobody waved me over. As I stood there scanning both the Filipino gentleman and Gary, the Filipino gentleman knew I was getting impatient and said, I WILL get to you soon. I responded OKAY. Gary doesnt care if I stood there for another 15 minutes - he didnt even bat an eye towards my direction. The Filipino gentleman quickly put away his papers and signaled for me to go to his station. I handed my appointment paperwork to him, and then Gary interrupted the Filipino gentleman and said there is a guy with a Honda on the line asking questions. There were some back and forth between the two while Im waiting at the station. Gary told the Filipino gentleman to take the call and told me to switch to his station. Okay, this is a second time that Im handing over he paperwork again just to check in. I told Gary that I shouldnt wait for so long just to check in my vehicle, especially when I have an appointment set by the online customer service. Immediately, Gary responded in a RUDE manner, YOU ONLY WAITED FOR TWO MINUTES, and everybody needs to get in line. Im no pushover - I said GARY - I waited for at least 10-15 minutes, because I came early for the appointment, and as it is now, I am over 10 minutes late. Fine, Gary, if you want to pay LOGIC, the customer that called in, WAS NOT STANDING IN LINE, why did you tell the Filipino gentleman to take care of the Honda guy on the call, and stop him from servicing me? Gary had no answer to my question... I have a Ph.D and I certainly can dance around Gary in circles if Gary wishes to play logic game with me. At that point, I asked for the manager. Gary said there is no manager on site Sunday. Wow!!! one of your busiest day, and there was no manager on site...Poor business model...Poor business management. If i can give negative stars to Pep Boys, I would....The Los Angeles market is so competitive with so many competent repair shops, how do you think you can win customers to your chain stores. You have to perform better, perform faster, and perform logically to beat the thousands of competition. Im so glad that I live in Los Angeles, and there are so many car repair choices. My poor experience with Pep Boys in Virginia 10 years ago is now reaffirmed by my poor experience with Pep Boys in Chino, CA at Grand. Just aweful customer service and aweful management all around.

Ordered a battery with free install online. Called ahead to see If I can move appointment up an hour. They said om and it only takes 30 minutes to complete. Went in to store and they said Im an hour early and I need to wait till original appointment time and then another hour after that. I didnt have 2 hours to waste on a 5 minute job so I asked to get just the battery and Ill do it myself. Well that took forever just to be able to checkout. What a pain.... if you can DIY its best If you do and not get service here.

I used to go to change my oil and now Im going to stop it because they messed up when they did my oil changed recently... the mechanic name is Jeremy he didnt close the cap after the oil change and oil spilled all over my engine.I did oil change like regular basis.. so I took my Honda on Sunday, after the oil changed I drove 3 days (during driving I smelled oil and heard different kind of sound that coming from the engine). Thank God that I opened my hood & found that mess.... 😠, I spoke with the manager Mark, he assured me that if anything happens to my vehicle, then I can bring it to them and get serviced (but will see), at this moment my car is little bit vibrating when I turn on the engine 😠, I am really super upset.

The guy was nice but he said my free inspection would take no more than 30 min and It took 3 almost 4 hours. When they gave me back my car it wasnt the same, I went just because my brakes were squeaking but when I got it back the brake petal went all the way to the floor. I think they messed with something so that Id come back for service.

The Pep Boys were everything I needed. I had my car realigned and my tires replaced. They took a look and affirmed thats what I needed. They walked me through different tire prices and didnt try to upsell me, but were candid about what my real needs are. Then they did the repairs and finished early. If I could, I really wish to give 0 star. The employees here dont know how to respect their customers. I asked a guy there about the differences between two types of the windshield wipers, and he used his foot to point it? He wasnt professional enough to answer questions from customers and his attitude really made me mad. Theres another guy which wore a white outfit at the service department had really bad attitude. I stood in front of him and asked him if he could help me about the wipers, he just sat there and ignored me about 10 seconds. After that he just walked away and told me he cant ring us up and I should go to the register to pay for it. Hes so impatient and I didnt even say anything during that time. when I try to say something, he already disappeared?

Made an appointment per their schedule. Needed tires rotated and had a flat rear tire and a possible nail in front tire. Wasted over 2 hours.....they said they were busy so what is the point of appointments? 24 hours later my tire was down 10 pounds, added air and 8 hours later, down 10 pounds again. Took it back to Pep Boys and again informed how busy they were(only 1 car in the bay) and it would be 2 hours again. Notsorry this happened...Not we will get right on it....but maybe I got a nail in it. Now the problem is my fault. HORRIBLE customer service...we didnt trust them...didnt feel they would be honest....I an sure they would have come back withoh a nail was found. Left with no resolution....never will go back....cant wait Ru hear what Firestone, Goodyear or maybe just the Mobile station will find. I will be calling Pep Boys if no nail...and refusing credit card charge.

Went to Pep Boys in Chino Hills to get a flat tire fixed and alignment done, they said 1.5 hours to finish the service.I have an 1995 ford truck and unfortunately my window regulator is broken, so I asked to dont open the window or Ill not be able to close again.2 hours later, I had my tire fixed, and the technician was not able to do the alignment, he said that my car is too old and too big, and need a more experienced technician to get it done. 😱Also they opened my window all way down, and when I asked them to close it, the guy told me come here tomorrow and well close it kkkk

My niece got a flat tire, and she rolled the tire s 1/4 mile in the cold. They said a new tire $57, and $37 to put it on the rim. And they didnt even offer to help her put it on. No class, no taste and definitly none of my respect. Im sharing this with everyone in one week. [Step up Pep boys].

If I could, I would put 0 stars for this place. I never write bad reviews but this place is ridiculous. I called at around noon today to see if they were busy to get my oil changed for my car and they said no problem bring it in. I dropped it off at 1pm and the guy said he would have it ready before 4. 330 comes around and my car is in the same parking space. I go and ask the same guy from earlier if he thinks it will be done anytime soon and he starts saying how busy they are and that I had a lot of cars ahead of me when I dropped it off but that I was next and it wouldnt be much longer. Well then why did you say you werent busy earlier?? I leave with my mom, go to costco, and come back at 530 and my car IS STILL IN THE SAME PARKING SPACE. I told the guy that was there, who was different from earlier, to give me my keys COMPLETE WASTE OF AN AFTERNOON. I dont know if it is poor time management skills of the mechanics or not enough on hand but regardless if the guy from earlier knew it was busy and didnt say so to avoid losing business then he really screwed up because now he has two very angry customers who will not be returning ever. I would be more understanding if it was a weekend but it is wednesday. This is also the second time this has happened to us last time my mom even made an EARLY appointment for brakes and they didnt give her the car until the next day. What is the point of making an appointment if it will still take more than a day to get the car done? Very frustrated and annoyed on the time wasted and still not having my oil changed.

Joe was the most rude person at this place. I came in so nicely asking for an oil change and as soon as I tried to speak to Joe he shut me with a Im busy, wait phrase. I stood there like an idiot until I realized how bad he had spoken to me as a costumer. Then he told another staff member he was off at 5. Excuse me sir, but you still had 20 mins to do your work or at least pass it to someone else. I drove to this place for my oil change and it was a waste of gas.

Average Pepboys location that includes a shop and a service area. Since I do all my own maintenance, Ive never used the service, but the staff in the shop are a hit and miss. Sometimes theyre pretty good and sometimes they dont know what theyre doing. As for parts, Pepboys doesnt keep a whole lot of inventory on hand which kinda sucks, but you could always order and have them hold it at the store. Prices are fair when theres a sale, but otherwise its way overpriced and much better to buy online. For motor oil, always go to Walmart down the street. 5 quart Mobil 1 jugs for under $25.

I called the service department about a check engine light, they told me it would be $89 to read the code. I hung up and checked online where pep boys says they have a free engine check light vide reading. Called back to clarify and got a bit of runaround, oh the CHECK is free, but if they have to diagnose its $89 ??? Ok... All I want is the code, that is FREE? Well, yes...Didnt inspire much confidence in their honesty.That being said, I went in, they checked code for free and in under 5 mins. I just would never go there for repairs based on the price dishonesty right off the bat.
