I have very weird feet and have a hard time finding shoes. I bought a pair here that I thought would work until I wore them for a while. They not only refunded the shoes after Id worn them, but Chandler put the time in to help me find a pair that would work for my feet. He listened and genuinely wanted to help and itll be a great improvement in my quality of life!

I needed to get a pair of skis, boots, and poles for my trip. So I thought of this place when my stepdad mentioned our trip. My stepdad and I went to the store 5 minutes before it opened, then the associate said hi and that we can come in since it was only 5 minutes before opening. That was a great start. We then go to the counter for the ski gear, and Lars the employee was just more than wonderful. He was just happy, enthusiastic, funny, and more than happy to help. That shows an employee loving their job and just being positive in their position wanting to serve. As a businessman myself, I love seeing that in employees. I then bring the gear back after my trip and he happen to be at the door and remember me and saying, fun trip? And i was like yes. Quick return and that went well. Ill have to rent the gear again when another trip comes up.

LOVE Chico Sports LTD.!! Great store - tons of products and super helpful staff. Their bike section is amazing - and tons of items for the outdoor enthusiast. Plus, theyve been in Chico for years and years - have always loved their store. We(my wife and I) bought a bike there some time back for my father-in-law - they went out of their way to help us and get him the right bike(use, size, price, etc.). He absolutely loved it - and their service on the bike was outstanding. Highly highly recommended shop.

Its a rare thing to be greeted as you enter a business. You get greeted when you walk into Sports LTD. You get someone who walks up to you, greets you and is eager to help you find what you want without crowding you. Theyre staffed with very well educated people who can help you get exactly what you want. I used to hit big box stores, but after countless disappointment in inferior products Ive made the move back to local business that knows its business. Chico Sports Ltd, you are a jewel in Chicos local business crow.

Needed help to continue pedaling into the sunset. Ed, Matt, Nick offered spot on advice. The bike they guided me to was heavier, with easier riding tires and frame.....beat my 10 mile flat ride by 4 minutes! How can that be? Only bike shop for me. We love these guys.

Its a pretty good store but expensive. They do offer free tuneups if you buy a bike there. That can be a big plus over the life of a bike. They also want the customer to be happy with their purchase. Very helpful staff and repair department.

I came in one recent afternoon to buy a bicycle Id called to verify was in stock. The counter person pleasantly greated me when I walked in, but (despite out numbering customers) staff then ignored me while I stood 15 minutes in front of the bike.Ordinarily I would have eventually approached someone for assistance, but while waiting I performed a cursory inspection of the build quality and found it lacking. Specifically, the wheels were not well trued and the brakes were unevenly adjusted (there may have been more, but those easily apparent issues were sufficient to discourage further inspection).Ill readily pay the full MSRP for a bicycle that has been thoroughly tuned during assembly, but not for one that was little more than thrown together straight from the box. Maybe this was merely indicative of a temporary quality control slippage from the Christmas season rush, but for now Ill take my business elsewhere.

I had some bad experiences at North Rim and went over to ltd to look at tires, Frank helped me out and told me the pros and cons of each tire I looked at, I was very happy about that because I got the opposite type of help from Tyler at northrim. They installed my tires while I waited . Ill definitely be back, parking is easy too and thats a change from always going to shops downtown

Great deals on 2 new Electra cruisers. Awesome service in the set up of the bike. They let you test ride the bikes. Recommend heading over to the bike path at nearby One Mile park.

Frankie at Chico Sports was by far the most outstanding at providing customer service that I have recieved in years. He educated us on bikes, modifications, and proper methods. But aside from the technical stuff he took the time to go through everything even when it looked like I wouldnt be buying anything. We ended up buying three bikes which he personaly fitted to me, my wife and son. Thanks for making this a great experience!!!

Great store. Why does it seem to be the only bike store closed for the covid issue?

For a medium-size store in a small town, they have quite an inventory. It is also nicely arranged and well lit, as opposed to the big box sporting good store. Also, the staff are mostly young active types and know at least a little bit about the equipment they have for sale.

After my bike was stolen- my girl who (and this is very relevant) has aeol reputation in this small town for going the extra mile- no extra MILES. With that said - what Matt (the owner) did next WE will never forget. Im suddenly in a REAL HURRY. So, WHEN I get back- ILL POST HIS GENEROUS DEED. Thank you, David Grover

Great bike service, awesome front desk staff, knowledgeable on all regards from local hiking, cloning, to whats new with backpacking gear. The climbing wall is Great! I have never left this store disappointed.

I have liked shopping at Sports LTD in the past. I have spent many thousands of Dollars in this store. Today I noticed they are selling hats and shirts with Right Wing Propaganda BS printed on them. I will not spend another penny in Sports LTD until they remove the Right Wing BS merchandise from the store.

A good place to buy sporting goods for the types of activities that are popular in and around Chico. Bikes, hiking gear, climbing gear, etc. No skates or things that shoot.

Great selection of outdoor products, they have everything from climbing gear to mountain bikes and even disk golf. The staff were all kind and helpful.

Yesterday I had an extremely derogatory and uncomfortable experience with a staff member. The man helping me was very friendly up until the point that I admitted I couldnt afford the shoes I had in mind. I asked if I could try on a pair anyways in case I decided to order them online and he flat out refused saying that this would be a waste of his time, when the store clearly wasnt busy at all. He easily could have just said we only let potential buyers try on shoes, or that is not our policy. Either response would have been perfectly understandable and professional, unlike the demeaning response I received. We live in a culture where being honest is not always rewarded, however admitting I had no plans to purchase the product of interest should not have enabled him to lose respect for a customer. That is not how successful business relationships are formed and maintained. Little did he know I was also planning to purchase sandals later, but after the shift in treatment that I experienced after he knew he wouldnt make a sale with the other shoes, I decided I will not be making any purchases at Chico Sports if being rude to a customer is tolerable. Instead of handling the situation in a professional way, he quickly made it unpleasant for no reason and lost a potential future customer. Hopefully the rest of the staff has better customer service skills.

This is a great bike shop, they fix stuff right away . You would be hard pressed to find a better bike store . I have 6 kids and they take good care of our bikes.

Went into the store looking for two items, one of which I wasnt sure even existed. I was looking for spikes that I could clamp to my existing boots. The service representative knew exactly what I needed, checked his inventory, then apologetically told me that my shoe size was out of stock, chiefly because the product is used for walking on ice. He immediately gave me two terms that I could use to search for them, knowing that I needed them for traction on a steeply inclined dirt hill.I also needed a new bicycle pump. The service representative immediately steered me to what I needed and made no high-pressure efforts to talk me into something more expensive than what I needed.Everyone at the store was genuinely friendly, with none of the forced smiles or memorized lines one often hears from staff. Everyone there seemed to know the exact balance of knowing when to step in and assist a customer and when to let customers peruse the merchandise. While we were there, I overheard the stores owner take care of an unreasonable customer who was demanding a refund on merchandise he had purchased on close-out; I had never heard of any owner who was so willing to set aside standard retail policy just to satisfy a single customer.This is THE place to go in the Central Valley for sporting goods.
