This is the only shop we use for our Audi. They have saved us countless times in the past year and have saved us at least a few thousand dollars. Don and his crew are incredibly knowledgeable and never run you around and really take the time to walk you thru everything. Even when they couldnt make a repair on my car (because the engine control module can only be done by the dealership) their very sound advice saved me a few thousand dollars and a few headaches when I took it to the dealer. When the dealership failed to diagnose a problem a few months after the first issue, Spencers found and fixed the issue. They made replacing my turbo relatively pain free and gave me a good price. I couldnt be happier with the work. My car has had some of the worst mechanical issues you could run into and finding a good Audi mechanic in Chico has really made a difference. They also have excellent communication skills, if and when they run into problems. These guys really go above and beyond and know how to treat and keep their customers. They will never mislead you or charge you for things you didnt agree on, like most local mechanics do. This is the only place to bring your Audi! I wouldnt trust any other shop in the area. I have them do everything for me now, oil changes, tire rotation, smog and any repairs! Thank you Spencers for everything!

By far the best Auto Shop I have been to. For months I was trying to track down the engine light code on my BMW in order to pass smog, along with a whole list of other issues.I tried multiple auto shops but none were able to fix my light or find the cause.For about 3 months I emailed back and forth with John from Spencer Automotive trying time find the cause of my lights, and anytime there was an update, price estimate, or anything related to my car, John would call me before proceeding with any work, and would give me a full breakdown of what was wrong and why / how it was diagnosed. He made fixing my car a breeze and provided me with lots of info along the way.After my visits, my car is running great, everything is fixed and sounds nice, and smog was even completed.Great shop, and super nice/helpful staff!Thanks a lot John!

Been coming here ever since I bought my Audi, 3.5 years & they still say my car runs like a champ. Willingly would pay for car work, but fortunately they never found anything wrong with it! I love the hospitality and I guess I’m a “Regular” now. It’s nice to walk in the door and be greeted with acknowledgement. Lobby room is equipped with AC & beverages, free WiFi, TV, lots of seats.

Ive had great experiences here. They are honest, hard working guys. I know I can trust my vehicle in their hands and that they will have it ready in a timely manner. Its also really nice to know that if possible, their diagnosis comes with a couple options on moving forward without totally breaking the bank. Nothing but good things to say!

Spencer Automotive is great. Getting your vehicle fixed sucks, there are almost always complications and extra costs. The guys at Spencer keep you appraised of the situation and explain everything as they do their work. When the bill shows up, you always know what to expect and why. They make a difficult situation easy and understandable.

I dont rate with a 5 star very often. This place is the honest great auto shop. They diagnosed our car issues on my daughters 2004 VW. The gave their experiences with the year and make of the VW and performed the repair. They gave me options as the car has become high maintenance. All good, ask for John and he will take car of your needs. They also work on BMW and Subaru besides VW and Audi. I appreciate their dedication and communication, clean shop. Mark

I have taken my girlfriends car there a couple times and its always been a great experience. The lobby is always clean the front desk is always friendly. If youre thirsty they have water or if you would like they have a Keurig machine for some coffee. They let you know everything up front from pricing, how they conduct business, to the follow thru. To me the follow through is the most important because its sticking to your word which they absolutely do. If theyre busy they let you know up front and around about time that they will be able to get your car in. They go step-by-step only doing what you ask to be done and nothing more. They let you know if theres anything else that they notice because their Mechanics know what theyre doing and keep a watchful eye out. I had no idea that my hub assembly needed to be replaced or that it was even bad. I took it in for the AC to be fixed which means they had to drive it around to make sure everything was good. They heard a noise coming from the front end. They called and gave me the run down. They diagnosed it for free, told me what it was and I fixed it. They even gave me some advice to help me a long. As far as mechanic shops go I highly recommend Spencers automotive for anything that you need. To me they are reasonably priced and when they give you an estimate its been my experience that theyve been 10 maybe $15 under the quote they give you. Thats great! Who doesnt like to save save $10-$15 lol.

Came in for a smog check on my Mustang. The waiting room is comfortable, and I took advantage of the free WiFi to get some work done on my laptop while I waited. Didnt get much done, though, because they got my car done so quickly. Ill be coming back for service in the future.

They did a good job figuring out what was wrong with my car. Also a satisfactory job of explaining what they wanted to do to fix the problem. I dont think they did any unnecessary work, and they seem to be honest about how much work was done. Will certainly go back, and I would recommend them to anyone who drives a Volkswagen in Chico

I have been here twice and both experiences were great. The first time was just to get a new starter but since it was the first cold night of the year the evening prior so they were packed. They had so many cars needing starters and batteries so Don was upfront that he most likely wouldnt be able to get it fixed within the day. I was 8 months pregnant and an overworked manager for a restaurant so my car was indeed necessary. I thought for sure I would have to be cabbing to work and home for at least a couple days since my car was last and with no appointment. To my surprise Don was able to have my car ready for me before the evening shift even started. I couldnt have been more grateful for him to help me in my time of need.Forward to 4 months later and my car needs assistance again asap. Having had such a wonderful experience before I decided to go back and Im glad I did. No appointment again so Don informed me that it could be a few days until they even got to my car. I told him it was no problem seeing as I am now a mother of a 2 month old I will not drive either way and I trust them with my vehicle. Low and behold they were again able to have it fixed for me in just a few hours later!! There is no one else in chico Id trust to take car of my car. Good honest work and more than willing to go the extra mile for their customers. :)

This shop is straight out of one of those stories.Congeniality is unrivaled -- I was treated like an old friend.Knowledge of field is superb -- Not only were they highly knowledgable about cars, but I had a long intelligent discussion with Don while my oil was being changed.Service was quick and accommodating.Pricing was very reasonable.Free wifi... seriously, at a car repair shop?! Yep.Free sodas and other drinks.Not only did they change my oil, they also vacuumed out my car.Ill be back; they worked hard to make me feel welcome and to make sure I walked away happy, and I did.
