Whats that expression blood out of a turnip. They charged $153 just to look at my Honda. The mechanic only spent 20 min to tell me I need brakes. Many shops do this for free. I asked for them to secure the plastic under the car, since they had it up in the air they refused. On their radio announcement they said free coffee from Dutch Bros, they ended that. They also mentioned special on an oil change. Not that reasonable. These guys are just out for money, stay away. They have 4 loaner cars, and several mechanics who need to earn a salary on your back. I mostly noticed elderly women and women that really dont question their prices. The only woman who works there, said Ill see what I can do about the high estimate +oil change price...sadly I walked out paying $194. Shes married to one of the staff. Like I mentioned They are out for blood money. We are in a recession, I am a senior and I dont have a job. Beware, very appropriate for Halloween 🎃.

The team at Boradori is phenomenal. They always give my Honda a good look through even when I come in just for an oil change. They catch things before they become problems, which is absolutely how I like to maintain my vehicle that I rely on to commute. On top of the great service, the customer service is great and the prices are fair. They are good communicaters and Ive only ever experienced great attitudes!

Edit: I received a smog check and was told my car did not pass smog due to a monitor being not ready. No check engine light was on.I was told if a repair was done in house they would retest the car for free. I said no, drove the car for a week and brought it in to be retested without any repairs. I was charged for another smog check because no repairs were done in house.Initially I was upset about this policy as it is not what I have experienced in the past with other shops. The owner asked me to contact him and explained this was his policy, and in addition it is against the law in California for a shop to run a diagnostic on a before a smog check and notify the customer it will fail. I thoroughly appreciate the outreach and even though I would have preferred a complimentary re-test I can attest that their customer service is top notch

This shop is very high-end, they are real automotive professionals. I had previously made the mistake of taking my car to Pep boys a few months ago when I needed a new alternator. They installed a new one and said I was good to go. But a month later, my car died again. I needed another alternator! To say I was furious is an understatement. They said to bring it back and theyd take a look but no thank you. I was not making that mistake again. So I researched all the shops in Chico and Boradori had the best ratings. I can now confirm that they are all indeed accurate. I had my car towed there and it actually ended up staying there for several weeks because I was unable to come get it. They worked with me and were totally awesome and didnt even charge me a storage fee like most places probably would have done. They only charged me for the diagnostic fee. They have this really cool system where they send you a link to a website where they list everything you need done, a breakdown of the prices, all that. And you have the option to either Accept or Decline the service. Its so cool Ive never seen any place have that. I definitely recommend they are Chicos top shop by far. Ill definitely be bringing back my car for future repairs.

Came in for an oil change and get my spark plugs changed out. Noticed a couple comes in about their car being busted after coming in and getting work done recently. Red flag*So, decided to go through it takes a few hours and done. Noticed the car shaking A LOT... thinking maybe the spark plugs are getting too much air... they forgot to screw in the spark plugs, bolts arent the same, so screwed it down and running good. I know they were closing soon but they couldve checked their work, especially when its pricey and expecting quality work.

Very satisfied with the service. Not cheap but more than worth it. Used to go to a different shop. Won’t say names but why do it twice when you can have it done right the first time. Was even offered a loaner to get to work while my car was being worked on. Thanks Jeff and Francisco.

I took my car here to check AC issue, asked me extra 150$ to do further work. In addition, they said that my refrigerant is not leaking, so i took it to different shop and they found out there was a leak and fixed. Worst place to go, i would like to get refund for such work he didn’t do right.

Took my car in to get an oil sensor changed since that was the permanent code on sensor. Replaced for 500$. Drove 700 miles. Stated to drive more to get the smog in order to get it registered. Sacramento, City Driving, stop and go as well as multiple starts stops in chico to grocery store etc. Permanent codes cannot be cleared automagically. So we a got a second look. Low and behold The oil sensor repair we payed for was wrong. The sensor cleared after 25 miles. Never again will we trust a non jeep repairshop.

Extremely dissatisfied. Customer service lacking and competent mechanics lacking.Terrible at communicating w/ follow up calls and making a lot of excuses. Mechanical issues left undiagnosed or fixed improperly resulting in multiple attempts to actually fix problems.1st attempt at solving issue:Took car in to diagnose metal clunking in front end and squeek in breaks. Car sat entire day with no one looking at it & I had to call to check in. My car would have sat in their shop over weekend if I hadnt called them.2nd attempt: diagnosed $2,700 worth if break issues, unsafe to drive car. Was provided with loaner(the only positive thing about this shop at this point). Car sat in their shop for 2 weeks this time. Never bothered to check the clunking sound I had originally brought it in for them to check. My car was also damaged while in the shop this time(backed into leaving dent in good and cracked headlight) this was downplayed by manager saying damage hardly noticable & I may not even want to bother fixing. When I indicated I did want it fixed it was agreed that repairs(new headlights and paint on dent to prevent rust) would be handled at no charge to me so they could avoid going through insurance. Breaks were fixed at this time.3rd time in: Repair to damage done to good & headlights. Took weeks for headlights to come in as first ones ordered were incorrect. I finally had to call them to see what was going on because I hadnt heard anything from them. Headlights replaced. I let them know the new breaks were squeeking and was told that the problem was resolved.4th time in: headlights were installed but the mechanic neglected to adjust them. They were pointed at about 2 feet in front of my car making night driving dangerous.Called again to discuss fact that breaks still squeeking & was basically told that its a parts issue that they could do all the work again & may never resolve squeek.As a result they have lost my businesses and I will not recommend anyone to their shop based on my experience with them. You can only rest on your laurels of being in business since 1948 for so long if you cant continue a high level of customer service and mechanic expertise.

Earlier this week I wrote a poor view about boratorys automotive. Today I would like to change that review. after the first two times coming in I was still having the same problems with my truck. This last time I went in the mechanics and Saul at the front wanted to make sure my job was done right. They took everything back apart sent sent parts back to the manufacturer fixed them and put everything back together. The communication was much better and now my truck runs fine. I realize we all have bad days and not everything goes right the first time. Thank you to all the people at boratory for sticking with it and I will try to be more patient and understanding

I took my 2000 4runner to these guys after it had overheated while I was in the mountains. These guys diagnosed the problem for me and fixed her right up in a very timely manner too. These guys are super professional and I would totally go back to them again, great people and great service even though I am a young man I know I did not get taken advantage of by these guys, incredible work my car feels better than it ever did.

I had previously taken my 2005 audi a6 to 3 different places who said they could fix my igniton switch and program it to my car and all 3 places could not even attempt to do the work and quoted me in the 500$ range and directed me to the dealership. I decided to try one last place before I went to the dealership and it was Boradori automotive and left my car there for 2 hrs came back and my car was fixed perfectly. And the best part was it only cost me 140$. Great service and excellent price. I was amazed.

Fast and friendly service at a fair price!

The shop is really nice. they have very comfortable leather couches while you sit and wait they have cold and hot drinks coffee, soda, water. The countertops look like black marble with glitter in them. The staff is friendly they know what theyre doing, I think theyre just a little bit on the pricey side.

Great work done ahead of schedule

These guys will rip you off! I went into see what was wrong with my brakes. They told me I needed to get a new brake master cylinder. Which would cost me nearly 800 bucks, not including all the other things they wanted to get me to add on. I went to my family automotive shop and said it did not need to be replaced and did a simple service on my car that only costed 110 bucks. Now my brakes are back to normal!Not to mention the guy at the front desk is super snarky.

A difficult problem was rather painstakingly diagnosed by the shop, and I was carefully cautioned that certainty was 80% with a 20% chance that the expensive repair might not work. It did work. Superb shop savvy was demonstrated throughout the 2 and 1/2 days. Thanks again for a job well done: Jeff, Donald, and the indefatigable team of skilled technicians in the back. Hear, hear!

Im speaking, of course, about the two lovely dogs that are there to greet customers and lounge about the waiting room. Theyre very chill dogs who will stay away from you if you ignore them, so dont let that stop you from coming in if you are not a dog person.Ive brought my car in here a few times and each time they are quick, keep me informed, and make me feel like theyre actually listening to my concerns about my car. They genuinely care about their customers and the cars they work on.10/10 will return again.

Definitely going back if my car has an issue I just needed a simple smog check which passed no problem the service was fast and professional. When in for an oil change, found out my car needed more work done. They provided a car to use while, they were servicing my vehicle. After a few hours they had my car ready. I like how pictures are taken to show the areas that need service. Their waiting area is comfortable and they provide drinks, coffee and snacks.

I was in Chico on business when my car decided to stop working. I was taken to this shop by a AAA tow truck. I was nervous because I knew nothing about them. Long story short my car was diagnosed, fixed and I was on the road later that day. The whole staff was helpful and the dogs were a bonus 🙂I wish I didn’t live so far away or they would be my new mechanics.Thank you again for everything!

Thank you for reaching out, Jeff.***After years of living in Chico, I wanted to find a local, small business to take my car in to get it serviced. My sister and brother in law recommended Boradori, and after reading the reviews, I was looking forward to establishing a long-term relationship. Unfortnately, a routine oil change and tire rotation left me on the side of the road; and a one hour appointment, turned into a three day inconvenience.What I will say, is mistakes happen. People make mistakes. But it was a rather careless mistake. The mechanic who worked on my car neglected to bolt down the panel underneath my car following my oil change. It left me on the side of HWY 99 during commuter traffic in 100 degree heat. Thankfully, Donald was still at the shop and sent a tow. When I made it back to the shop, he had a loaner car ready and I was just grateful to be out of the heat.The following day, I came back to pick up my car. I was gracious even though there was no offer of resolution. There was no refund, no discount on the next service, just an apology. That is okay. I didnt make a fuss. I just wanted to get home after a long and difficult day.The major problem I had was when I got home. After being patient and gracious, I looked up and behold, oil-stained finger prints on my cream colored fabric, on the ceiling of my car. At that point, I became very frustrated, but remained calm. When I called the shop back, Donald answered. When I told him of the oil-stained fabric, he said, I dont have control over what the guys do in the back. At that point, I was stunned. Where does the buck stop? Does it make it okay? If that is the attitude, then in my mind, anything goes. Why would I take my car back for service again if they could disrespect my property so blatantly. Its hard. I just got a job after months of unemployment, only to be furloughed. I am pinching pennies right now but I work hard for everything I have. And I try hard to take care of what I have as to make it last. So needless to say, my shock at Donalds response became one of anger. Donald asked me to come back a third time to clean the ceiling. So I did.When I arrived the third day, Donald had the ceiling of the car cleaned where the finger prints were located. They did a good job. But still, aside from an apology, there was no desire to go above and beyond. I mean, I would have been happy with a 5% discount on my next service, or a free tire rotation. Anything, I mean anything to get me to come back. But truthfully, I dont think they need my business. Maybe they dont want it. Regardless, no one felt more disappointed than me.Like I said, mistakes happen. But being careless, man...that is a real bummer.

I called to schedule an oil change and they got me in the same day. The waiting area is great and the shop dogs come to check on you regularly for some pets.I was in and out in less than 45 minutes. Great service and staff.

They were able to point out that Jiffy Lube did not bleed my brakes properly as it resulted in my brakes no longer working properly. I took my car for its first brake fluid flush to Jiffy lube and when they finished, the brake light was on and my brake become soft. They said they checked already for leaks and could not fix it. Turns out, according to Boradori, Jiffy Lube did not even seal my brake system properly. They properly bled my brakes right then and there and did not charge me for it, only for the inspection.

Everything was super easy. Communication was great and everything was explained. I recommend Boradori for car service.

I went in for an oil change, everyone was very nice. They worked quickly and after the oil change they checked over my whole car. They sent pictures and a description of everything that needed to be fixed and then quoted prices. Also the dogs made really great company while I waited!

There are not enough words to convey how great Boradori Automotive in Chico California is when servicing their customers. Ive have had the best-of-the-best experiences when dealing with the issues of owning an aging vehicle. The service providers at Boradori have always been up-front and honest and have always given excellent workmanship and have always backed their warranties!!! Always!!! Without complaint... without hidden language... without gimmick, tricks, inflated costs, or finger pointing. For a business to stay in business for over 35 years means they know how to treat their customers. I recommend avoiding the inflated overhead of the local dealerships for the fair, reasonable, and courteous experience that is given by the loyal Boradori professionals.

My transmission suddenly went into limp mode...Jeff and his crew did a thorough inspection on my Jeep Grand Cherokee and because I usually do my own auto repair; when they explained what they did I knew they did it the right way. That problem miraculously went away before i scheduled repairs; but they were very understanding. I did however need an Oil change, SMOG and piñon seal replaced on my rear differential. They took care of it and shuttled me home and back as well. They have a lobby with snacks and coffee too if youre waiting. Thanks to Jeff and Don!

The owner Jeff is A1 in my book! I’ve got an older, beat up, burned up (camp fire), diesel pickup that I love with all my heart. I needed it back to its heyday ways and Jeff didn’t even flinch when I asked him to tackle the job.Boradori was offering free air and cabin filters right after the fire. We took the gf’s car in and we were immediately sold on their service and goodwill. Took her Lexus in the next month for power steering issues and the repair was on time and on budget and they treated her with the utmost courtesy. She was sold again. I took my car in there for a diagonses, they charged me 250 to tell me the welds on the heat shield attached to my catalytic converter were broken causing an air leak, they wanted over 1500 to do the job, i start the job myself to find the heat shield is perfectly in tact and the welds are undamaged, not to mention mention the first shop I brought it to told me the sensor that was throwing the code was precat, how does a precat sensor tell you the cats bad? Wouldnt that be the after cat sensor? As well as when i was in there paying i heard the guy on the phone talking to the owner of a 90s s10 saying it needed 2000$ worth of additional repairs, (seeing as they already had the truck from doing another repair) and the guy listed hoses and belts that needed to be replaced for about 5 minutes straight no real mechanical parts.

I took my car to Boradori because of noise coming from the back of my car. They immediately looked at my car & determined the cause. It was serviced & resolved that same day. They answered any questions I had even after the service. I really appreciate that!

Honesty. I have been in for smog to brakes. The last visit, I went in for both sets of brakes and they informed me I only needed the front and not the rear, that I had a few more oil services before changing those and it would be money wasted based on the driving habits. I had a great experience at Boradori. My car was diagnosed and fixed within a day. The staff are very friendly and the prices were very fair. I went there one time before for a transmission flush because it was about 100 dollars less than at the original place I went. They also have a complimentary shuttle which enabled me to avoid an expensive cab ride home. Overall, the people working there are very knowledgeable, honest, and friendly. I will definitely take my car back for maintenance and anything else that may come up.

After multiple difficulties with a local dealership, I was referred to Boradoris for a second opinion for major repairs. It was found that these repairs were not necessary!! The work that was needed cost 2/3s of the money I had set aside for the dealership repairs. That day I became a member of the Boradori family. They have always been thorough, honest, efficient and cost-effective! They have kept my now 13 year old car on the road and I have been ever grateful for all they do...the dependable work, the shuttle service, refreshments in the waiting area, cookies, and even the fresh flowers! I now live in Sacramento, but do not trust anyone else with my car.
