Such a beautiful space with rich history! Decided to stop here while exploring the neighborhood. I was surprised by how small the space was, however left feeling very welcome and enlightened by the staff member Elena! The collection includes paintings, sculptures, and installations. Some of my favorite pieces included kinetic sculptures by two of the founders! Although not as big as some of Chicagos other art galleries, the pieces are beautiful and you can easily make this a quick stop while in the neighborhood. This gallery has alot of heart and I will be returning for future exhibits ❤️
🖼🎭 One gem of a gallery in Ukranian village featuring artworks from local and foreign artists (not necessarily of Ukranian descent). Artworks/exhibits are updated bi-monthly. Entry is $5. Walk-ins are fine but if you have a big group, would recommend calling them ahead of time to help them stay on top on capacity requirements. It’s not too big so you probably wouldn’t need more than 45 mins at this place.
Beautiful and informative. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful.
Wonderful museum off the beaten path but totally worth the (small) detour!
I stopped in on my last day before my flight left on a business trip. It is a great little museum for a great price. They had an evocative and thought provoking guest exhibit and a great permanent collection. The staff is knowledgeable, welcoming and warm. I would definitely recommend scheduling some time to visit.
Came here for an art exhibition. Very nice venue for this event. Local non profits need more patronage. Come visit and enjoy the art and ambiance. 😄
Nice persons at the reception. Taking the time to explain. The content not quite to expectations.
Love the artists that this museum hosts. I love coming to art openings here. Ukrainian Village is lucky to have such a vibrant gallery in their neighborhood!
Completely wasted my time by visiting this museum. In total, the place has two garage sized rooms that hold a handful of paintings. A few of these notable works of art depict various religious figures in disgustingly sacrilegious ways that turned me off immediately. The atmosphere is damp and although it is called the Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art, half of the contributors are not even from Ukrainian or European backgrounds (but instead pay generously to get a spot). Not worth even a minute spent.
Went here for Open House Chicago 2017 and was blown away. There were two separate exhibits; one featured work from a Puerto Rican artist, and the other showcased pieces made by inpatient mentally ill individuals. Both were incredible and powerful in different ways. The person working said that they switch out collections pretty regularly, so Im sure they have more great artwork now!
Nice, well kept and the two shows I have seen here were nicely curated.
Monthly openings as well as selections from the permanent collection - museum has been offering the highlights Ukrainian modern art for almost fifty years.

Glory to Ukraine
Beautiful place
Amazing
The Ukrainian Institute of Contemporary Art is one of the largest diaspora galleries in the United States and Canada, as well as an important venue for public life with numerous exhibitions, meetings and concerts!
One of the most important and most prominent places of the Ukrainian Diaspora in Chicago and the United States as a whole.
I was there, and I really liked it, I was glad that there was at least something Ukrainian in all of great America!)
Well done keep it up!
