Very rude and unwelcome staff. Would not you recommend to buy anything here. Dont waste your nerves
Owner is horribly rude and angry. No masks. Not to mention, insane prices. AVOID at all costs!!!
Like overpriced alcohol, with ignorant, bad tempered employees? Then this is the place for you! Otherwise, go elsewhere...there are plenty of small local business nearby with good selection that will be friendly while helping you pick something out instead of being rude.
Worst experience ever got refused service for no apparent reason.
Not recommend this place!!! Very rude and aggressive Servise👎👎👎
Unfriendly staff, overpriced items. Wish this store was better since I live right by it, but instead I walk further to Garfield’s or Joe’s Wine Cellar where the vibes are much better.
This is the worst store I have ever been to. overpriced and the owner was extremely rude.
Horrible place I got here 5 minutes before they closed and they asked what I was going to buy then wouldnt let me in
Really rude service today. Guy must have been in a bad mood, but I’m never coming back here.
I walked in the store & ask the cashier about a Jameson bottle & the size. He kind of got upset & responded in Arabic under his breath. Which I completely understood what he said & it wasn’t nothing nice to say. I purchase the bottle & told him him thank you friend in Arabic but never ever again going to walk in that liquor again. FYI I am not Arabian.
I would like to give a five star review to the best corner store a person could ask for.
When I got my beer to the counter some hefty sized guy in a red shirt asked me if I wanted a bag. I said yes. He rang me up and then I’m just standing there and I was like hey man can I get that bag? He says you have to buy it. I said yeah I asked for one. He said no you didn’t. I said yeah I did man. “It’s seven cents.” I was like well ring it up on my debit card. He’s like “no seven cents”. Just kept saying seven cents. Refused to give me my bag that I asked for. Was completely rude about it.
Would rather spend more $ at Garfeilds than support a local business... how sad. Maybe try not cussing at your customers???Will never return OR support.
Very nice selection of alcohol, old man was very nice, went back and gave bought 1,000 just beacause the customer service was so good
Super rude service
Their manager refuses to wear a mask, putting everyone in danger at their store. The manager treats their employees very poorly, in front of customers.Their male staff is rude. And their prices are 4$ more than anywhere else.
Wanted to support local. However, worst customer service - angry, rude and doesn’t mind swearing at his customers. Negative stars. Will never return.
Great place and great people and its open late at night.
This place has been charging a 25 cent bag tax for well over a year claiming that the city of Chicago was to blame. The clerk screamed at me when I commented that there was no such thing as a 25 cent bag tax. This of course was a complete lie considering the bag tax just went through, and its only 7 cents. They also dramatically overcharge for all of their products. Its so much easier to just be nice and fair to your customers rather than make every interaction difficult.
Expensive, rude and anti dog. This place is a trap for the stupid andvtge desperate. Go anywhere else if yit want good service. decent prices and something other than a bad attitude.
The people who work here are rude, belligerent, and not aware of their obligations and responsibilities. Example: they try to charge you more than what their price sticker says without explanation, then, when pressed, they tell you they put the wrong price on it. Meanwhile, the beer prices are awful (youll pay about 20% more here than in surrounding stores). Good selection, yes, but a one star review is still too good for the experience of being in here. Ugh.
Terrible service. Checkout person was incredibly rude after screwing up the scan. Avoid this place if you value human decency
They once told me the problem with the neighborhood is black people. Never went back after.
Customers be aware they dont swipe cards with bad chips!!
You’ll be miserable your whole life if you don’t change your attitude.
Rude and overpriced.
Good selection and decent prices.
It doesnt have much of selection of items
They have a huge selection
I will never ever shop here. Its 10 degrees outside and I parked by the closed byline bank. I am sick and pregnant and left the parking lot for two minutes, with plenty of available parking in the lot. This company pays a private booting company called Innovative Parking Solutions LLC to sit idle in their vehicle and watch people leave the lot and then boots them immediately. It costs $140 to remove it. This is the most immoral business practice I have ever witnessed. I am a small business owner as well, and I would never treat neighbors this way. I did not notice the signs of course, but when you are pregnant and desperate to not vomit its pretty tough to pay attention to your surroundings. Im appalled by this practice.
I like the store selections
Pretty good neighborhood Liquor store. Not the greatest prices but kind of the only option within a few blocks to get beer or liquor.
I cannot respect any business that will allow an uneducated employee to retain a bill only on the suspicion it is counterfeit without a reason for thinking so. Or any employee or manager that allows pride to inhibit good judgement and wise practices. The cashier who took my bill never said I would get it back if it was real until I returned to the store insisting on checking the security features. The manager refused to admit his employee made a mistake and did not outline a plan to ensure it didnt happen again. This is a scam at its finest. Its a long account even when abbreviated, but it deserves to be told.I went in to buy a bottle of wine after driving from a late-night shift in Glencoe. The cashier takes my hard-earned $20 I was tipped and immediately begins analyzing it, holding it to the light, feeling the paper. He then concludes it is a fake based on the quality of the paper. Aghast, I ask if he has a pen to double-check, and he says he doesnt believe in those pens, saying theyre unreliable, that he has encountered enough counterfeit currency to know just from the feel. He waves the example fakes they have at the register and refuses to let me see them to compare them to my bill. He doesnt even compare my bill to their example counterfeit. Tired from my shift and not remembering the security checks for a $20 or wanting to encounter the police, I pay credit and leave. After unwinding from work, I look up the security features and go back to request another look at the bill. He says its too late, he already zipped it up for the bank to take. I ask what security features he saw that werent there, he says he cant tell me, its illegal according to the Illinois Liquor Commission. I ask to see where it says this and he avoids the question. Only after much insisting on my part does he say if its real when the bank checks it *WITH A PEN* the next day, he will save it for me to retrieve.I call the next day, and the cashier says the bank declared it a legit $20. I go in, retrieve the bill and ask to talk to the manager. He comes out and listens to my account, says he respects me and apologizes for my experience. I thank him for the apology but ask what he will do to prevent this negative experience from happening in the future and preventing the illegitimate ransom of hard-earned money. He says there is no way for his employees to accurately analyze all the ways a bill can be counterfeit. I stress that all I want to feel this is remedied is for him to educate his employees on the security features of a bill so that no one else has to go through this experience. He refuses to do this, constantly giving excuses for his employee and himself. He shows me the example of a fake $20 they have on hand. It is so obviously counterfeit. After a while he excuses me without remedying the issue. I will never shop here again!
Friendly and convenient!
Do not support this store.
Unassuming on the outside with a surprisingly good beer selection on the inside.
Horrible management. Tried charging me $1 for a single plastic solo cup. Got yelled at for using phone in the store. Prices are extremely inflated. Always people arguing when I go in.
Horrible business. They sell over priced beer that is always skunked. They have no clue on wine pairings. Plus they boot their neighbors. Will never buy from them ever again.
This place is just the absolute worst. Every experience here is beyond negative.
Great beer selection. A bit pricey.
Overweight Clerk was very unfriendly and rude. He snuck in an extra $5 charge on a $40 liqour purchase and he refused to give a bag when I asked for one. I came in with a bottle of water and he yelled no outside liquor allowed. I will never go back there. Also charges 40 cents for using credit cards.
My go to for my fix
Open late, outstanding prices and selection.
This is an excellent liquor store with a huge selection.
They have what u are looking for..and theyre open late !!
EXTREMELY RUDE EMPLOYEES AND EVERYTHING IS OVERPRICED. NEVER COMING BACK HERE AGAIN AFTER HOW I WAS TREATED.
Best Store
Their wine selection is garbage and their ice cream has at some point completely melted and refrozen. Two stars for beer I guess.
The people that work there are very rude, and they consistently sell old beer.
I live next door and I will never shop there again. I have never been to any other liquor store and got into an argument, but it happens here every visit. Expect over price beer and strung out employees. Cheers
Very high prices a 12 pack of cider there is like $20 when marianos or jewel has the same thing for about $ 13 or $ 14
Service wasnt great, but they seem to have the major liquor.
Great place to go
