Went on a guided tour with the president, Arnold Skip Horween, who is an amazing guy, great stories to tell, and take the utmost pride in the leather made at the factory with the other 145ish employees there. There is a breadth of senses and information hitting you when you walk through the 5 floors of the building. You get a general gist of all they do there to make various leathers on the short tour. Highly recommend a visit, dont eat before going, youll thank me later, and expect the smell of leather to linger a tiny bit.

Call ahead to have the gate opened for you if youre entering from Ashland Ave. If your trailer is 53, I suggest you enter how I drew the yellow line on the screenshot.One of the workers said that some trucks enter how I drew the green line. Theres no gate on that path. Though most enter from Ashland he said. Backing was tricky with the light pole, dumpsters, and cars being obstacles.Quick unload, friendly staff.

Low ratings because it smells bad? Its a factory - leather tanning is nasty business. I dont know how they can make leather and not have it smell like theyre making leather. Lovely products from these guys.
