This store has a lot of things other stores dont carry. Foreign food is one example. And their deli is almost beyond compare. Theres a wonderful selection of deli meat and fresh cheese. You can do quick shopping too. For me though, the drawback is the rather drab setting. I think they could lighten it up a bit.

The store has a good bakery and produce is pretty good too. Management is rude and completely unhelpful. Staff works very hard but their hands are tied by rude and unhelpful management. I just noticed yesterday the had a sign stating, ABSOLUTELY NO RETURNS OR EXCHANGES I am not sure how any store can make such a policy. The only reason I ever go here is because it is so close to my house. I honestly would rather go just about anywhere else

This is a great store! A huge deli with fresh products....its priced right and that makes the difference. Their honest pricing moves product to give you the freshest ingredients for wherever your imagination takes you whilst creating a dish! This is an all inclusive establishment and its well stated and cared for.

Upon moving back to the area and shopping here regularly, I’ve got to say this is an amazing supermarket. Great produce and baked goods. Meat is on point and we’ll priced. They have a very polite and accommodating staff.

Went in...got few things....left $500 there.I am from another state and was recommended this store for all my international food choices. I am happy with variety and choices of everything needed and not able to find in my state at all or for a reasonable price.Coming across some things that I grew up with in Europe but not being able to have it for over 20 years until now is.....priceless.I will make this my one stop shop next time i am in town.

I love this store. So many great choices. Many unusual foods. Good produce choices. Too bad not too many people buy organic, sometimes this can be s bit older. Good polish choices, smoked fish 😋, bakery! Depends on what you like. I hard deli is great with many cheese options...I dont use it though. I recommend. Honest stuff.

While I was there I noticed 4 customers who did’t have masks on. I left the cart with whatever was in it by the cashier and left without buying anything. You would expect that with that big of a sign at the entrance saying that mask is required that they would refuse to serve the people who don’t wear one. I don’t mind doing my grocery shopping at Mariano’s, Trader Joe’s or Whole Food. If I end up having to drive more and pay more, then be it. At least I don’t have to deal with inconsiderate customers who think themselves above everyone else.

I really enjoyed their lunch special they had but recently they increased the prices on the hot bar and I don’t find it as yummy as before. The breaded pork chop was a bit bland. They do have great alcohol selection, good fruits and veggies. You can Apple Pay too, so that’s cool.

I am Polish and that is the place where we load up on polish food before we head up north. Love their deli and their bakery. Tons of nuts and seeds as well. Loved my shelled walnuts and my polish soft sweet cheese.

Bed was awful. Burns in the bedspread and curtains. Microwave oven plug wouldnt reach the outlet. Rain leaked in the door flooding floor overnight. The screaming kids in the room next door meant we didnt get sleep which was what we paid. Seriously under impressed with this place representing red roof inn.

Great store to find authentic Mexican, Italian, Polish and other imported ingredients. Aisles are sorted that way, too.While you can find individual Mexican, Polish and Asian shops in this area, Shop N Save has it all in one stop.Their produce freshness and meats cant be beat. We go here to stock up on beef, chicken and pork because its cheaper and better quality than Jewel. Their bakery sweets and breads has never disappointed me, either.The beer and wine section also has unique selections you cant find easily, like Carlsberg Elephant Beer.Staff is young and extremely fast checking out and bagging.Great resource to the neighborhood!

My wife and I moved into the neighborhood a few months ago. Weve been buying our groceries at Shop & Save Market. We enjoy the buffet and their bakery. So far, everything has been great.

I really like shopping at Shop & Save Market. They have an enormous selection of house-made soups, green salads, deli salads, sandwiches, and a pretty good salad bar. 🥗 There is an attended steam table serving complete meals priced from $5.99 including a protein, potatoes or rice, and salads or hot vegetable. The proteins are a combination of Polish dishes, American dishes, and some Italian items, but while tasty, they are not very Italian. These items can also be purchased by weight.There is also a self-serve hot bar which includes an assortment of peirogi and toppings. The hot bar also includes a large selection of meat and side dishes. All of these items look very good, some of them are quite tasty, however, the self-service hot bar is completely neglected by store staff, and at no time, does it appear fresh or appetizing. It always looks dried out, greasy, and unappealing. I want to purchase dinner there, but why buy old, dried out food?The bakery is terrific, and the bakery staff very helpful and accommodating. The breads and pastries seem very fresh, and the items I have tried were quite good.The deli has a great selection of local and imported hams, and charcuterie. They even have excellent roasted in-house rare roast beef.Good produce section; generally fresh, decent prices, good selection. Often, there are good produce specials. There were beautiful tomatoes at .69 per pound. And beefsteak tomatoes were .99 per pound. Some items can be higher priced than other stores, but not outrageously so.The rest of the store has a full selection of domestic and imported grocery items. The best selection of imported jams and preserves in the area, even better than stores four times bigger.The front end staff are all very nice. One of the cashiers, a young woman with long red hair, most often worn in a pony tail is so nice, really charming and always remembers me, and is so good at making all the customers feel welcome and is so very kind.I really enjoy shopping at Shop & Save Market and the only thing Id change would be that the self-service hot bar would be maintained and kept fresh.

So my mom went there today and I cannot believe how unprofessional this place is. She picked up the candle which had a price of $6.99 on it and the cashier started to argue with her saying that the price was in fact $7.99 and was not going to honor the actual price, appearing on the product. That was strike one. My mom also had 5 jars of honey which was on sale, priced at $11.99 each and that very same cashier disagreed and started charging $14.99 per jar. At that point my mom asked for a manager to come. The manager was very unprofessional and pretty much ignorant. When my mom asked her to go and follow up on the honey price she replied I dont have time. We will never ever go back to that place. We were customers for many, many years, but this is unacceptable. Good customer service and willingness to help are crucial when it comes to running a successful business and keeping long-term relations with customers. This place lacks both and more. Wish I can give it 0 stars. As mentioned above none of my family members will ever shop there again.

I was shocked by the server at the coffee/to go/deli with her mask below her nose. Then 2 customers at the deli same thing, deliberately below the nose not just loose. And the other with her top lip exposed. When they got served at the counter the server should have cheerfully asked them to cover up or gestured at the mask on behalf of other customers waiting. I kept moving away. I work in customer service. Its part of my job. It should be theirs.

Check the dates on every item you plan to purchase! I bought jar of dill pickles that expired August of 2020. Wow.

Stopped for 1st time ... This store is fabulous I live far away from it but picked up my daughter from not far from there. Stopped in for a few things, bought ALOT! THE SALADS THE DELI THE QUALITY PRODUCE THE PREPARED MEALS... I couldnt believe what a wonderful selection and when I got home how absolutely delicious everything that they prepare tastes. Im looking forward to shopping here again after Thanksgiving when I return I wish that they were closer so that I could go there all the time. I highly recommend them they were so polite and careful with social distancing and face Shields. I felt very comfortable.

FYI: I am giving this city location of Shop & Save 4 stars, but I gave the Des Plaines location 5 stars.At this location, I feel that there are fewer items overall, and the store layout is a bit odd (getting to the checkout from certain departments).I was looking at the homemade soups to go, near the deli. Every single soup (out of 20 or so kinds?) had meat or meat stock -- so no luck if youre vegetarian like I am.The homemade salads were very good and fresh. I bought the mozzarella/tomato, and the veggie/fruit one.I then went to the hot meal counter. They have lunch and dinner specials where you can get 1 meat with 2 or 3 side items. I asked if I could just get a few sides since I dont eat meat. The woman at the counter said I could get the lunch special without meat, and just get a double size of 1 item and regular of 2. That was very nice! I got the roasted potatoes, mashed potatoes, and veggie rice. All 3 items were delicious and I highly recommend them!They also have a homemade pierogi bar where you can mix and match and pay by the pound. I chose to just get 3 packages of the homemade pierogi from the refrigerated rack. When I got looked at them later at home, I noticed 1 of the packages had expired 2 days earlier. Id already thrown out the receipt and didnt want to go all the way back, so that was a loss of money. So definitely check the sell by dates at this location. At the Des Plaines location Ive never had this happen.

Shop n save has THE most diverse foods available, they have hot and freshly made whole meals at the ready, no time to cook a meal, no problem, come to this place, you will not be disappointed, they also have a variety of shelved foods as well, the prices are decent, staff is helpful, if you cant find items elsewhere, come to shop n save, you will be ooooed and ahhd by this place

Fantastic selection of European (largely Polish) products. Excellent bakery selection, all the teas and coffees you could want, and expansive European and Middle Eastern snacks/sweets. I go here all the time.

Good prices. A lot of Polish food, fresh bread, cold cuts and ready to eat meals.

Staff always pleasant and helpful. Large produce selection. Deli tends to take the longest time so plan off peak hours if needing stuff from the deli counter.

I always find great deals on meat. Lovely produce section and a deli thats like going on an adventure w/o the high cost. Hot food is 1 meat, 2 sides $5.99. w large portions. Great selection on hot buffet. Good, hearty soups. Small area up front to eat & watch TV. Handicap spots and plenty of parking. Private one person bathrooms are usually clean and well-stocked. Cute little activity area for small children. Each business is usually only as good as its Employees/Representatives. So far...its good.

We primarily get our produce, seafood and meat from here - - they are fresh and reasonably priced. They also have a good selection of ethnic products, as well as cheeses and sausages.

Excellent grocery selection with a spectacular store layout.

Good selection. They have Amys frozen, pasture raised eggs, and ezekiel bread for the health-conscious consumer. Also, gelato! The prepared food (i.e. soups, Mac and cheese, salads, pizza) arent too fantastic. The soups are tasty, but have rice and noodles as filler. The macaroni and cheese taste like it was made with a mix of velveeta and a tiny bit of mozzarella and very watery. Definitely not worth 6.99 per lb.

I understand lines are longer but the one cashier boy is the slowest cashier in the city. The woman in front of me had a cart overflowing and it was only this slow cashier to scan and bag...how did no other employee help the slowest cashier on the team bag this giant order? It took 20 minutes for me to check out. I then went to customer service to see they are not offering returns at all...alright, theyre not the only retailer doing that...then I asked for a roll of quarters and was told, No! Unreal...I died to go out of my way to this Shop n Save...now I will be avoiding it.

The most amazing produce department Ive seen. The Deli and fish counters looked great. I have yet to do a full shop there but this is my new grocery store and Im very pleased about it.

Wonderfully diverse foods made hot to take out. Old world favorites, Briscuit, speghetti, pork roast, salmon, broasted potatoes, gravy, vegetables all for reasonal price! Love this place for occasional splurge! Delicious, homey, easy!!

As little as 6 months ago, this place had great metal music playing over the speakers. I wish theyd bring it back. I like shopping here anyway.

Don’t even bother. I was being charged $30 for a 12 pack of smart water. The issue was poorly handled by the cashier and management. The cashier threatened me after I mentioned she shouldn’t be rolling her eyes and huffing at us like we were the problem. The management didn’t even apologize for the altercation. I also was bothered to begin with with the cashier... she initially threw our gallon bottles over and decided to bag everything separately, essentially wasting bags. This store needs to teach proper etiquette and to be nice and not have attitude with their customers.

The wearing of masks is not taken seriously here. Ive limited my visits here as a result. Each visit I encountered multiple people not wearing a mask properly or not wearing a mask at all...pointed it out to a manager who acted with indifference. I feel sorry for the employees, as they potentially are exposed to Covid on a daily basis.
