So far, the market is very beautiful and super friendly! The food is delicious and thats a fact. All co-workers are super respectful and very kind.
The staff here are the sweetest, store is always top knotchgood quality food and beverages, even an assortment of vegan items I haven’t heard of.A bit pricey, but it’s worth it!
Decent selection but prices are usually higher than the Jewel down the street (which has everything). The main reason I stopped shopping here was that there is always someone loitering outside the entrance. Also be sure to check expiration dates on dairy. There have been a few times where the milk and eggs have been past expiration. The meat department is also not that great. Rare to get super fresh ground meat (usually already brown on the inside).
Potash is a Family store. The employees are so sweet and kind. Very clean and easy to find items. I enjoy Potash on Clark. Im there always.
This is the nicest neighborhood grocery store. They have a wide selection of everything.Support your local stores and shop at Potash Market!
I love potash! Its not cheap, but its convenient, has a great selection of groceries and wine and beer, and the staff are always super friendly. What more do you need?
The food and pricing both lean towards the gourmet side; if you want a gallon of milk or equivalent, youll pay a premium for the convenience. But still, the staff are friendly and the location is a real benefit for Sandburg Village North residents. Its also got a decent selection of cards, flowers, and such. The basement hardware store is mostly good for painting and services like key cutting. If you need anything beyond the very basics, youre probably in for a trip to Home Depot.
Almost every time Im here they have a wine tasting. My only suggestion would be to look up the buses that go from here to your house. You know...Just in case.
Potash Markets exists because of convenience services. The location is a real benefit for Potash Markets in Gold Coast Chicago. Its have a decent selection advantage from various department like flowers, cheese, deli, bakery, dairy, butcher, seafood, grocery, produce, beer and wine. All product price is reasonable. The staff is always friendly and helpful and all the cashier is very careful and the employees help all the customers which need the assistance. From GKNInT SECRET SHOPPER.
Potash exists because of convenience. The location is ideal if you live in the neighborhood. Expect to pay a premium for that convenience. The hardware store used to be larger. Now it’s been replaced with a wine section. I guess priorities change and Potash is keeping up with the neighborhood. Though I wish there was a larger decent local hardware option.
I love Potash. They will do anything for you. The owners are just nice people and I enjoy shopping at a neighborhood grocery store. It is like they are my friends. I have shopped there since the early 1980s and when my husband died in December of 2000 they wanted to send over whatever I wanted or needed. 5 stars from me.
I love to shop here, friendly and clean store.
I was reluctant to visit the store as I was told it was expensive. Being lazy I could not resist as its only a block away.Ive found the store well stocked for the size and as a whole reasonably priced. The deli items are delicious and Id have no hesitation catering a small dinner party with their dishes. The staff is very friendly and I love chatting with them in the morning.
Well curated products from many local businesses supplying artisan-made goods. Great selection of beers from local Brewers, Germany and Belgium. Also features a hardware section downstairs next to the wine/beer cellar. At the entrance there is a clothes donation box too. The sales can pleasantly surprise you sometimes.
Make sure you visit the Wine Cellar and spend some time talking to Alan, the manager. Hes knows his wine and hes just a superb gentleman. He poured us a sample of a very good and well priced Bordeaux Blanc (which we bought and immediately consumed when we got home). Alan represents everything this store is about: locally owned and customer first. We dont live near here for everyday shopping but will make this market a regular stop when we walk to the lake.
I love potash! Its not cheap, but its convenient, has a great selection of groceries and wine and beer, and the staff are always super friendly. What more do you need?
Lovely neighborhood market with full service grocery department, wine cellar and a great deli. They have lots of prepared meals so you can grab and go, plus they offer delivery 7 days a week so if you can stock up and theyll deliver to your door. The Potash Ace hardware store just moved from across the street at Germania Place to right below the grocery store (in Oct 2012) so you can knock out food, wine and hardware store supplies with one stop.
Some discounted items actually dont register properly during checkout. I recommend checking the bills to make sure you paid the right price. That being said, I love the place and its offerings.
Nice little boutique grocery store with unique items not found in big box stores. Has a lot of history, been here a long time! Sometimes they wont have a particular item though since its a smaller store.
I love this boutique market because it always has the most unique treasures.
Close by but often out of stock for things I need. One gem in Alan in the downstairs Liquor area. Alan is very knowledgeable and tries hard to stock decent beer and wine!
Great place for a quick lunch or grocery shopping, its small clean and well organized.
This small neighborhood market is clean, well-stocked and has friendly staff. It doesnt have a huge selection, but it has all the staples. It also has short term parking out front (read signs for details) for those not within a short walk. Very happy that the Potash Ace hardware store is still in the neighborhood and is in the basement of the market.
Clean and well stocked small local store, perfect for stopping on the way home from work. Something of an odd variety of goods--many varieties of oranges but no parsley seemed weird--and higher priced than larger chains, though the pricing seems to be somewhat random with some items priced under average and others well above.
The reason I like this place is because the people are so nice and kind and I love to see all the cashier smile and the people the employees help all the customers that need the assistance thats why I like potash on on Clark Street you should come in and check it
Surprisingly good wine cellar, where two gentlemen give excellent advice on their stock to match an occasion and a price. Good deli.
Good spot for a quick lunch! Good soups and solid deli.
Good family run small grocery store. A wide enough selection.
I love this place. Great food for any occasion!
Good local market, its great for grabbing a couple things when in a pinch.
The people over there are very nice and kind they always serviced you with a smile
Small convenience store. You should check out the wine cellar, employees there are knowledgable, and are good at recommending you the good stuff.
Andrea and Jeff are so helpful a willing to answer any questions you need. Recommend!
Small, convenient full-service neighborhood grocery store.
Very nice people. High quality food.
Good place with a decent selection. Very convenient, but overpriced
Knowledgeable sales staff in the liquor room downstairs.
Excellent local market with all the essential grocery needs. There is also a True Value hardware and liquor store on the lower level!
Great selection for a small market, also a hardware store and wine cellar
Overpriced of course but then it is city centre Chicago. Excellent wine and beer section.
Beautiful establishment, rich in selection, great customer service
If you need something in a pinch. Not for primary shopping
Hated it cuz they are out of freakin business!
Quick market, has what I needed. and on SPRING too
The prices here are outrageous. I only stop here when I have no other choice. It’s really small and crammed too.
Good people.
Love potash markets
Good neighborhood store
Its a great store but its expensive
Small cheese section for this type of shop.
Great store!
Good selection
Love this store!
Handy
Good variety but expensive
Good
Basics.
Great marketplace. Quality ingredients. A little pricey for produce and a few items but a convenient location. Wondering what happened to the huge selection of specialty cheeses?
Very good.
Place where we enjoy very rich salads and soups when we visit Chicago.
There is everything you need.
