In Chicago visiting a friend, 1st time in the store, but I was impressed with Produce! Nice and Neatly displayed, not to mention how Fresh it was. The Bakery Department had a Multitude of Freah made desserts to choose from. This store has something for Everyone. I will most definitely return.

I dont know the name of this manager, but hes on Facebook advertising for Remy Martin. This manager put me put his store, because of me telling his service worker, how he could do a better job with keeping very long lines down, in his store, and better helping the service workers there. Terrible customer service by this manager by this manager. He didnt even have his mask on

Always fresh, select sale items, cafe is a hit, I really like the deli, a variety of deli meats, bakery is nice also., overall everything is good, we really needed this store...

Local market is a wonderful store, hot food/salad bars, bakery, everything I expect in a great grocery store only issue the store smells of rotten meats. I cannot shop here 😫. Clean your store and more shoppers will come.

Today was my 1st time visiting and I was thoroughly underwhelmed. The hot and cold food bars were appallingly neglected. The food was mislabeled, it looked old and the tongs were completely in the food. There was no one there ensuring food safety or that customers were adhering to COVID or regular safety guidelines. The soup was uncovered and had a thick skin, the caramel apple salad looked... off. The boiled eggs that should have been cold in the salad side at in a puddle of hey love gray liquid. It was stomach -churning. The bakery area was dismal. All of the glazed items looked old and dry. The cakes in the case looked frozen, thawed, sliced, refrozen and thawed again. The items looked old, damaged and mishandled. I wont return.

1st time there clean food looks n taste fresh and good will update after more visits didnt give a 5 because some of the staff is kind of iffy

This trip was very disappointing. I purchased the big pack of Strawberries and the prepackaged salad. It looked good on the outside but when I opened it, the Strawberries were molded. And the lettuce was very wilted and molded. Had to throw both away. That was $14 in a garbage. No one has time to waste money like that! Even though EBT made it possible!!!

Such a good store! Produce has always been good (keep in mind they won’t have everything because it has to be local) and the butcher is incredibly helpful! Love to look around at everything they have in stock!

It was my first time shopping here and I was very disappointed. It was overcrowded and they didnt have half of what I wanted and needed.

Dont bother..unless you want to be disrespected, mistreated and not valued. It is Sunday and no one is at the hot bar! I spoke with the manager he tells me to get in the line with 5 registers open and 30 people in each line. I can tell 1000% that this is the hood because they do not value their customers! I will just shop at Marianos .. they value their customers! There were people who walked out...I guess they dont value their money either.

Was my first time there. Hours posted on the store are inaccurate - they close at 9 not 10. On Sundays they close at 8. Seems really early to close. Anyway the store seems cool, ppl seem cool. But not they were eeeeeeager to close up at 9:01. I mean, I get it, and, sheesh. No attitudes just eager. Lots of security...thats fine. Ill be back. When I have time to explore.

They sell old food. Everything I bought from the bakery has been stale. The food from the hot food bar always tastes 3 days old.

I don’t frequent this area quite often however when I am I stop in to get the Caribbean chicken salad which has never disappointed me the store is always clean and organized they really take pride in their displays

Its the closest thing to a food store in South shore besides jewel. Offers a variety of food but some prices are higher than jewel. I try to look for sales as they have them daily. Some cashiers arent customer friendlyMorning butcher in the morning actually knows how to treat customers. The after noon one time didnt know that advertising clearly means its advertised..

Extremely terrible service. I purchased some catfish at $11.59. When I got to the checkout the price tag had somehow fallen off. The fish was taken back to the fresh fish counter and weighed again to create another price tag. When I got home I was shocked to read the new price tag of $17.02 for the same bag of fish. I assumed the price would be the same and got ripped off. Screw them and never going back !!!!!

This place is awesome. A wide variety of food, cleaning supplies, a great Hot, Olive and salad bar at very reasonable prices. Please pay this store a visit. Id give them 10 stars if I could.

Love having a quality grocery store in the community (w-great fresh produce & affordable produce prices)however not giving more stars due to dismissive manager interaction. Regardless of if it’s near closing time or not patrons deserve respect to understand why there is only ONE checkout line while manager & others puts plastic bags in order, etc. it occurred to me that perhaps all the other registers had already been closed out and the manager could have simply explained the reason. I didn’t appreciate him speaking to me very curtly & only addressing my question about opening an additional checkout line with “well get everyone out....” or something like that dismissively. Our community has greater intelligence than that sir. Really??!! The line was 1/2 up the aisle. And if any upper mgmt above this is reading these reviews it was at 8:50pm ish on Mon Oct 5, if you care to take it up with that manager which I hope you do. And BTW tell your cashiers don’t assume everyone has a LINK card pls cause I pay with cash. No shame or shade to those who do use LINK, we all gotta eat.

Today on August 31st my daughter bought some of groceries was treated disrespectfully by a cashier. If the local market want to keep it going yall need to do better.

Cashiers pretty cool.. other staff seems they dont talk much when you ask for help they look at you weird as if they dont speak English their kinda rude

I hadn’t been in the city for a minute and thought I knew the store. Wrong!When I walked in the front door I think I heard harps playing as I strolled the aisles with my mouth open seeing.......the GLEAMING clean, wide aisles...those mounds of pristine, plump, FRESH PRODUCE with misters to keep them hydrated,... the stunning fresh meats, the superb hot bar choices that looked like they’d just been put out... the SALAD bar so green and crisp looking and FRESH (yes again!)... all the brands I can hardly ever find plus all my regular brands,...AND A JUICE BAR with lounge chairs and tables to sit and chill!!!!!You guys absolutely crushed it. Good job and great for addressing the food desert in our area.Makes me wish I lived closer

Love the fact that in my neighborhood it is no longer a food dessert. I enjoy the fresh produce that is always maintained and organized. The store is regularly stocked full and kept up. Pricing is fair and they regularly have sales. Staff is always helpful and courteous. I shop here weekly and always enjoy my shopping trips here.

Great market. The space is not as large as traditional supermarkets but they do an excellent job with stocking anything youd probably need. I went in with needing all the ingredients for 3 different recipes and they didnt fail me. And they have a price point I can live with, comparable to other more higher priced markets. An upscale atmosphere with a more comparable traditional cost per item.Its kept immaculate and the staff and management are very helpful, friendly, and without attitude. Ample parking & security. Oh, I almost forgot they sell beer and liquor, and they have a bar inside where you can sit and have a drink 🍸🙃 (with ID of course) and after this Covid crisis.

I go here frequently just because of the location, I step in line. I asked this rude cashier Tenisha, was the line open? She said very rudely, the ones with the lights on yeah. She just standing there hovering over the register, not greeting anyone. I will never go to this location ever again

I shopped there last week and was informed by staff that fresh chicken wasnt so fresh . My adult son went later the same day & returned with chicken that was spoiled . Im in no position to point fingers but as bad as it smelled someone knew it was bad but left it there for customers. We were happy that the market was close but after this we wont be returning.

Over priced items and it always smells like something has gone bad every time I enter the store specially by the meat. Today I bought salmon that had gone bad but was still on the shelf for sell. Will be returning tomorrow for a refund. Store is clean and well organized but I don’t think I’ll be purchasing any meat, fish, or poultry there anymore

I love this store I shop here once a month or if Im in need of some extra things I go there mainly for the non dairy products, like butter, cheese, mayo, sour cream, cream cheese, because I cant eat dairy products its all vegan stuff for me.

Ive shopped at this location a couple times. The store is very organized and service is fast. The restroom is ALWAYS clean. If you need anything, theres a guys always willing to help you . Ive seen him clean a couple times, he is very friendly and provides great customer service. Thanks for serving this community.

Beware of the meat. Any of it! Twice i’ve come home with spoiled meat the day of! Or meat spoiling in a day or two! Before you even ask, yes I’ve checked the dates and the dates indicate the meat should be ok to eat/keep a day or two. I don’t buy meat packaged more than day ago. Meaning if it says “packaged on the 1st and it the 3/4th day, I don’t buy it. Otherwise the store is ok.

This store does not offer some brand names, in addition the trend in groceries, in Black neighborhoods there are no late night hours...The racial divide is extremely clear in Chicago, the jobs are no longer available ( closing 2-4 hours earlier, and the convience of late night shopping is no longer available - real unfair curfew, crazy. I am done with all these Major grocery stores in Black majority neighborhoods makes no sense. Im will shop for groceries at the local mom and pop, grocery owned by the Middle Easterners, better Customer Services, and Brand names, and easier to get to.

This place is bad, the workers dont respect you, they rude and in my opinion dont need to be working in there, only if the owner would hold them accountable and fire there behinds, I get upset Everytime I go there, but Im just going to jewel theyre better than them anyway.

The food is good quality especially the steaks but they never have enough lines open so the check out process is dreadful. They have cooked food buffet so a great place to shop but also grab a hot meal

I love the variety of foods! The only reason I didnt give a 5 star rating is because at least on two separate occasions, Ive purchased dairy products that were past the best by date. Please (please!) pay attention to the dates. Other than that I have no issues with this store, and I am happy to continue shopping there.

This was a terrible shopping experience and I will never be back. First of all the lines were all very long and then a clerk named Nancy opened a lined and waited on 3 people and told me that she was not going to help me after I waited in line. So after a few words back and forth with the clerk I just jumped into the next line and the Nancy (clerk) had the nerve to come the clerk in the next line and talked to her for 10 minutes while I was waiting in line. Then from there she reopened her line to help more people just not me lol. I guess I wasn’t worthy of paying for my items in her line. That was the most petty and immature actions that I’ve ever seen in a grocery store. This was my first and last visit. I will never be back. Just because the store is in the hood doesn’t mean that I’m going to accept unprofessional treatment. This whole interaction should not have taken place.

I was very impressed by the variety and produce selection! Really good to see a store like this in the area! I did not see many employees physically in the produce area, but everything was clean and stocked good! All the cashiers were mostly available so I appreciate that. It was a good first experience. I hope management is treating the staff well, cause it seems like a good store so I’ll be back to support.

The CASHIER DIDNT HAVE ON THERE MASKS PROPERLY AND I DIDNT FEEL SAFE BEING IN THE STORE THERE WAS NO MANAGEMENT PRESENT TO INFORM THE CASHIERS ON REGISTER 5 & 6 TIME WAS ABOUT 5:30PM TO WEAR THE MASK PROPERLY OR GO HOME .I AM HAPPY THE STORE IS IN THE COMMUNITY BUT I EXPECTED MORE .IF THE STORE IS GOING TO BE SUCCESSFUL THERE TEAM SHOULD REPRESENT THE COMPANY MORE PROFESSIONAL. I REALLY COULDNT BELIEVE THE STAFF DIDNT UNDERSTAND THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO COVER THEMSELVES. I JUST DIDNT FEEL SAFE WITH THE SURROUNDING OF THE STORE NOT TRYING TO PROTECT THE PEOPLE WHO SHOP THERE. PEOPLE ARE WATCHING THAT COULD HURT YOUR BUSINESS. PLEASE INFORM YOUR STAFF TO WEAR THERE MASK PROPERLY.

Cashier place my bread in the bag kind of rough.

Nice store for the most part. I come here if I need to grab a couple of missing items that I forgot when shopping at other stores.This place reminds me of an more upscale corner store. The prices of some items are a little higher compared to other stores but I understand that this place is independent. Only thing I dont like is the creepy tall guy that works behind the meat counter sometimes. I recognized him from jewel on 75Th. He use to always try to shoot his shot when I shopped there now he is at this store and always makes sure to make it a point that I notice him. I dont come here that often because of this.

Good selections on most meats and some produce but milk and butter are extremely high.Stood in checkout line over 35-40 mins. Way to long....hey gave this place 3 stars taking back 2 brought 50.00 worth of Skirt Steak was awful texture wad stringy and no flavor could only feed 5 had a terrible taco night..

Good selection, even during COVID. But, got a salad and they didnt have dressing packets. Im not buying a whole bottle for a carry out salad.

2nd time in the store. Very clean and food stocked neatly on the shelves. However, please be aware of the manager in alcohol beverages. While shopping, the managers approach and professionalism was undesirable. Apparently, you cant take your shopping cart into the alcohol beverage department. His tone of voice definitely let me know I was violating store rules. ( who knew)?🤷‍♀️. He instructed me to look at the small sign posted which is not larger enough for anyone to see while shopping. Im rating this store with three stars instead of 5 due to the managers lack of professionalism.

Store cleaned and well stocked. Good variery of name brand and value brand items. Most employees friendly and helpful. Only issue was a few employees without masks on, interacting with customers.

Im happy to see that they include healthier options on their shelves as well as produce..looking for non-gmo and grassfed meats. People who live in the highlands will spend their money. They are a diverse group of people. Nongmo/ grassfed and humane conditions. No pesticides..
