Ken has a wide variety of Voluspa candles which I love buying and giving as gifts. I also love how he wraps up the candles in a nice cute bag. He also sells great kitchenware and furniture. I would definitely recommend checking his store out. Everyone that works there is super nice and friendly and is quick to help. Their customer service is top-notch. A little designer tip for holiday gift buying for all you Chicago folks - stopped by Ken Ludwig’s design shop today in Roscoe Village, and it is not only a veritable Christmas miracle of the grandest kind (he killed it this year with his holiday merchandising), he’s stocked the store with the most fantastic gift ideas for the holidays - from glam barware and a plethora of scented candles to gorgeous Christmas Tree ornaments and textured throws. Stop by soon for a little heart-warming treat (materially and otherwise). It definitely made this ol’ Scrooge smile.

When we moved last year from our condo to a single family home, I was very intimidated by the prospect of the massive decorating and furnishing project. Picking out paint colors was intimidating, I had no idea how pieces from our old place would fit into our new place, I needed to buy a lot of new things but didnt know where to start... I was super stressed out and overwhelmed by the whole process. Thats when I met Ken. I happened to stumble across his showroom when I was out for a jog and I am beyond grateful that I did! I never really considered hiring a decorator as it sounded super expensive and something that fancy people did.Ken was super down to earth and listened to my needs and budget needs. We sat down with him for an initial consult... he went through our old place and our new place and made recommendations as to what pieces would go where, what to get rid of, and what new pieces we would need to purchase. He also picked out paint colors for our new place which we love! So far, he has picked out dining chairs, a sectional sofa, bedroom furniture, throw pillows, a loveseat, and barstools... all of which we are very happy with. He gave us great advice about the importance of stain resistant fabric given our young kids.In addition to purchasing new pieces, we had a few family heirlooms in need of refinishing and upholstering to make them fit in our new home. Kens selection of fabrics is like nothing I have ever seen.... and he was able to recommend people to do the work for me. He even followed up with them and facilitated the work. Ken also came over after we moved in and arranged two large bookcases in a way that I never could! When people walk into our house, the first comment is always how nice the bookshelves look!Perhaps the best thing about working with Ken is his delightful and kind personality. When he first came to our new house after we moved in, he brought me tulips :) I was really NOT looking forward to decorating our place, and Ken surprisingly made it fun and stress-free.
