We needed to have our basement walkout door replaced. The old door was aging and starting to leak water under the door frame. I actually called two other door installation vendors before Home Build. One of them never returned my call. The other told me he was too busy and turned down my business. Weird.Then I called Home Build. And OMG Im glad I did! Nick was out to the house to quote out the job within a couple days. After I pulled the trigger with Nick, the owner Steve needed to come out and take a final look-see. I thought this wouldnt happen for another few days, but Steve was able to come out the same day!Once we got everything ordered, Steve explained that it would take several weeks to get the door ordered. We eventually scheduled the install for a date far in the future, but lo and behold, Steve called me again to say that the door arrived early and that his team could come out to do the install early too!The guys just wrapped up. He provided a lot of information -- at that point I was still finding all of the different options somewhat overwhelming and confusing -- and his company offers a lot of different options. I felt no pressure from him, which was refreshing, and he also pointed out where we could save money (e.g., vinyl in the unfinished part of the basement, with the same exterior color so it looked the same from the outside), which I appreciated He also worked up bids for a few different approaches. For example, another company had recommended we use sash replacement kits, which Steve recommended against, but he priced those for us too. HomeBuild Windows bid was the lowest we received (even the one for the sash replacement kits, which we ended up not doing after talking to Steve and a couple of contractor friends) and we purchased great quality, name brand windows. Their bid was about 20% less than the next lowest bid.The windows came about a month or so after we ordered and installation was a breeze. They did almost all the inside work in one day (we bought 28 windows) and spent most of day 2 on the outside. The guys cleaned up after themselves -- we could not even tell they had been there when we got home from work -- and were very nice. The windows look FANTASTIC.
