I had called and spoke to Mike a week prior to my visit about a specific watch I was looking for. When I arrived, he showed me the one I thought I wanted. I asked him if there were any others he thought I should take a look at and he got out an amazing one that looked great on my wrist and also fit all of my must haves. He even showed me how to change out the bracelet/straps, sized it perfectly, and explained all of the features.It was an awesome experience dealing with Mike. When looking for an engagement ring, one of my colleagues recommended I go to New York Jewelers – specifically Ralph as that had been her consultant. I had already been to a few shops and spoken with some “experts” on the ring I had in mind.After 5 minutes sitting with Ralph, you could tell he was in a different league from everyone else I had spoken with. He was more knowledgeable in almost every aspect when it came to talking about diamonds (and I would assume this knowledge translates to other gems as well).Thanks to NYJ’s stock of available gems, we were able to find the perfect diamond within the appointment. However, I was convinced I wouldn’t be buying a diamond that day, and even had a few other appointments to get to. I told Ralph I’d be in touch.I walked out of my next appointment an hour later knowing that there wouldn’t be a better option on the market, especially that I could trust. I called Ralph and purchased the diamond that afternoon.Overall, Ralph was an amazing resource to have access to in my hunt for the perfect engagement ring and my fiancée couldn’t be happier with her ring.

I’ve had mixed experiences here, but in the end I will say that while the prices are high… the quality is not necessarily that high.I purchased two items here — a pair of sapphire studs and a diamond tennis bracelet. They actually gave me a wrong appraisal — lower quality stones and more gold weight. Finally I got the option to take the other bracelet or get the right appraisal.Honestly the jewelry looks great but my other tennis bracelet has better diamond quality for same price and my sapphire studs are matched well for color, but not for cut/symmetry/proportions.Personally I’d shop elsewhere, but I have had WORSE experiences on jewelers row… like how Prudential tried to rip me off by telling me that my 22kt was 21kt, at least NYJ was honest and FAIR with my trade! Plus they have a great selection!Just make sure you shop around! My pieces are still great, I just wish I’d shopped around more!

I have dreamed of a classic 2-carat emerald cut diamond rings for decades. We had a good experience buying watches at New York Jewelers five years ago, so my husband wanted to return. He told them I wanted to look at emerald cutdiamonds. That surprised me!! The greeter put me with Stella. Stella was amazing. She seemed to understand my passion and exactly what I was looking for. NYJ will repair your Rolex in 1/4 to 1/3 the time, and do a much better job polishing it, than the authorized dealer. Their exception service on watch repairs has made them my go-to for all jewelry. Great selection and a friendly, but not pushy, atmosphere.

Like all jewelers worth visiting, you get a personalized experience with a sales rep who can help you look for exactly what it is you want to buy. Don’t be upset if you aren’t helped right away — if you need immediate service, call ahead instead of just walking in.I’ve shopped twice here — once for gemstone earrings and once for a diamond tennis bracelet. I had an issue with my appraisal not matching my bracelet that went unnoticed by me for months, and the customer service I received when they became aware of the issue is definitely worth noting. They offered to exchange the bracelet for the one my appraisal was for (which was still in inventory) or replace the appraisal. In the end, Tim (downstairs w/ the diamonds) was correct that the bracelet I received was the better quality. That’s the type of customer service that will keep me coming back!I know for most people, jewelry isn’t an every-day type of thing to purchase. But I know that when I shop here, I am getting estate pieces that I can pass down to my family. The pieces are simply made to out last us, just take care of it and it will sparkle!I also got some new earring backs here that I love! Nice big backs so my studs won’t fall out.Oh and last thing, their cleaning solution is worlds better than dawn soap! Kabitha has been fantastic for all my needs related to jewelry and Kyle was incredible to work with on a recent watch purchase.NYJ has been around a long time and it is easy to see why. The environment is always comfortable and I have always left the store with a smile on my face. NYJ will always be my jeweler, even after I move out of state I will fly back for all future purchases, but that may not be necessary since they have proven they can facilitate even custom designed pieces over the phone.

What more can I say about my experience with Kyle Familara from NYCJ. From start to finish, he was attentive and caring. Asked him to help create a custom piece for myself. He went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and aware of everything going on throughout the entire process. I would give additional stars if I could. I learned about New York Jewelers when I started my journey in to collecting timepieces some two years ago. I went in the store that first time, and Store Manager Mike greeted me and showed me a few pieces. On top of that, he also provided insights around the materials used by a couple of brands. I appreciated the education. However, I didnt buy anything then.I kept going back to see if anything would grab my attention, or to see if the store had anything I was looking for in particular. I would always have a timepiece in mind I wanted to get. I did this for over two years or so, visiting New York Jewelers, and every single time, Mike would say hello, and would show me a few pieces. He was good at that, and I appreciated the no-pressure sales approach. He allowed me to look through the inventory hassle-free.A couple of weeks ago, I came in, the same as always, having a timepiece in mind. Like the wonderful salesperson that Mike was, he came up to me to check on me. He showed me a timepiece I was looking for but the store didnt have the model year I was after.We got to talking about the other timepieces he had, and he showed me a few. I told him no on those pieces, as if I were to make an impulse buy, the timepiece would have to Wow me to which he said he wanted to show me one more before I left. When he told me the brand I said it would be way over my budget -- I am not a big-time collector.I followed Mike, and when he showed me the Patek Philippe Calatrava I knew then that I was done! I told Mike I really liked the timepiece but I would have to think about it. My experience with Harris was like no other experience I have had in retail. Thats right. His name is Harris. There is no pressure and no sales tactics to speak of. They truly care about finding the right piece for you and if the timing is right and you love it......GET it! We are in the experience economy and I rule out all options and prices before moving. BUT dont be a miser. After shopping at 6 other stores over 2 days I decided Harris earned my business and I wanted pay for and reward those who take the time and who know the business of patronage. The people were extremely friendly when I went in asking about whether they could place holes a leather band for my watch ( that I didnt purchase here ) they were nice enough to not even charge me, I enjoyed my experience up until the holes were actually punched, unfortunately one hole was punch very out of line with the others, I didnt really say anything and I wish I had. 3 stars because I understand mistakes happen and the service was really great, I just wish Id done it myself or ordered the shorter strap

2 years ago I inherited a ring from my grandmother. For insurance purposes I wanted to have it appraised. New York Jewlers apprised it within 20 minutes as a 1.5 carat Garnet surrounded by 12 (.75 carat) diamonds.Last week I finally went into Windy City Diamonds to have the stones reset into another setting. They sent it out to have a GIA appraisal, turns out its a 1.8 carat Pigeon Blood Ruby surrounded by 12 (1 carat) diamonds. and worth way more than the original appraisal.If youve had something apprised here, please have it verified by another source. I believed New York Jewlers until I had it sent out recently (I also had another jewelers other than Windy City also verify). Its worth knowing what your stuff is worth, if for no other reason that you should know if youre walking around with the cost of a Tesla on your finger!!

The first watch I purchased was a Tag over 10 years ago. I recently had an issue with the watch after (10 years) I called Jimmy one of the owners, he put me in contact with the service department. I sent them the watch they called me back a few days later with a price and what was wrong with it. I gave them permission to fix it a couple weeks later they called me for payment and shipped the watch back to me. The process was very easy and they kept me informed every step of the way. After finding something we liked, we decided to shop around more at competing retailers. Darryl in repairs and the rest of the New York Jewelers are true superstars. The repair department fixed my wifes eternity band in quick turnaround returning it looking better than before I dropped it off. In the past I have had watches and jewelry repaired at New York Jewelers always 100% satisfied. Look no further when looking for the best jewelry, watches, service, repairs, free valet parking, etc...

Horrible experience designing a ring. After spending money there I ended up having to have a new ring designed elsewhere. Complete waste of time and money. Seems very cheap like they cut corners. Not happy at all.

Update: So here is the full story on New York Jewelers. My husband purchased my engagement ring and wedding band in May of 2016. Within a year my ring began literally falling apart, we brought it in to be fixed because it basically bent in half and a diamond on the side fell off. At that time we also paid to have my band and engagement ring fused together, as a suggestion from New York Jewelers themselves in order to strengthen the ring. We PAID for the rings to be fused together AS WELL AS the repairs. Not long after that I noticed the ring had shifted and the halo looked like it was bent, and yet another diamond on the band had falling off. So we came back again to address the issue, this time we were told there’s no problem with the ring, and it was handed back to us all shined up. As time went on I noticed this more and more and decided to get another opinion from a reputable jeweler, who looked at the ring and told me not to wear the ring because I was close to losing my diamond. After hearing this alarming information, I then proceeded to bring the ring to THREE other jewelers who ALL told me the same exact thing. Two different jewelers even told me how they’ve had OTHER customers from New York Jewelers with similar issues, they also explained to me how New York Jewelers has their rings made in China, and they also sell used items, they suggested I bring my ring back to New York Jewelers and speak to them because they sold my husband a faulty ring. So that’s what we did. That’s when the nightmare began starting with the run around by Darryl the “manufacturing manager” who again tried saying nothing was wrong with the ring (until we literally had to show him ourselves), to him lying and saying he was going to “help us” with the ring problem, to not calling me when he said he would, to the salesman going through our information on file and CALLING the person who recommended us to New York Jewelers to gain information on my husband and I, to Steve another “store manager” calling me up today, accusing me of having work done at other places besides New York jewelers ( even though I have ALL the documentation of every bit of work done at NYJ, including photos of my ring each instance) to telling me he wants no relationship with me because we haven’t purchased any other jewelers from them in the last 3 years— basically saying since we only bought one item they could care less about us as customers. These people literally ripped my husband off, lied, screamed at me, and took our money and refused to fix or replace the ring. Do yourselves a favor and avoid this place at all costs. There are so many other reputable jewelers out there who actually care about their customers and quality of jewelry. Maybe if New York jewelers sold us quality jewelry and had decent customer service we would have purchased more items from them, but since we didn’t, that’s their reasoning for not taking care of the mess they created.Do not trust this company. Deceitful liars, taking advantage of others— selling extremely poor quality jewelry at designer prices. I have quite the story to tell. Dealing with the manufacturing manager Darryl has been a nightmare in its own. He’s lied from the beginning from telling me nothing was wrong with my jewelry, to saying he’s going to talk to the owner of the company on a specific day and call me with a resolution, to then saying it’s not the owner he has to talk to, it’s the GM, but he’s been “too busy” so I’ll have to wait even longer, to snooping through our purchase file and pulling information on people who recommended us to the company. This is the most upsetting and shady thing I’ve ever had to deal with in retail. I’ll just share this for now as a warning for others, you won’t even believe the rest of my story which I’ll share later.

After going to a few other jewelry stores my brother took me to see Ralph at New York. He just did a phenomenal job. I just bought a Breitling pre-owned Aerospace wrist watch from New York Jewelers. Breitling discontinued the model in 2012 and although its nearly 10 years old this remarkable example remains in like new condition. I dealt with Mike who manages the business and made the entire sales process worry free. You’re always concerned when buying online. Is it a great web site, but in reality you’re dealing with someone selling watches and rugs from the trunk of their car off route 80. They’re in Chicago today and Peoria tomorrow. New York Jewelers has been in business since 1890. That’s 30 years before the Chicago Bears hit the gridiron and 10 years before the White Sox started playing baseball at Comiskey Park. Benjamin Harrison was President. They’re online and brick and motor and that’s what I look for when making a purchase. They’re now on my favorites list and I’ll be back to buy more.

I recently bought a gold chain and I love the quality. I also purchased a set of fangs for my teeth and the quality is great. I will be getting more jewelry from here.

Everything Ive ever bought there independently appraised for an amount at or above the appraisal NYJ provided after the sale. The staff has always been friendly, professional and patient. I never felt rushed and I always walked away feeling like I got a fair deal. I purchased an engagement ring through NYJ. My fiancé and I are very happy with both the diamond and custom ring we had designed. It was a successful buying experience and I will be returning to NYJ for our wedding bands and other future jewelry purchases. They accommodate customers by validating your valet ticket, so make sure you pull right up in front of the store so you don’t have to waste time/money parking elsewhere.Marc was extremely helpful and in the search for the right diamond. When you are in his office, 100% of his time is dedicated to you and finding the right diamond, no matter how many you need to look at or how long it takes. I was very particular and specific about choosing which diamond was perfect for us. He never gave up and never made me feel like I was wasting any of his or my time. He gave helpful pointers on what should be most important to ‘him AND her’ when deciding on the “perfect” diamond.Scott, the sales manager, was very helpful as well. He made sure to step in when necessary and get me the information I needed when Marc wasn’t scheduled to be at the office that day.Simon, was another key piece to my successful buying experience. He took the initiative to reach out to me via email and schedule a time for me to pick up the engagement ring.
