My wife and I celebrated our 5-year anniversary October 1st. I was working with a local jeweler to design some a pair earrings, bracelet, and necklace for my wife. The experience was going great until he had to take an unexpected trip to New York. Following my intuition, I decided to go to Kay’s at 101 South State St. and Monroe St. I walked in and was immediately greeted by a young man named Gabriel. This gentleman was pleasant and patient, with unbelievable customer service. I told him I needed a back up plan as the jeweler I was working with had to take a trip to NY and I didn’t know if the items would be complete before our anniversary. Gabriel assured that I’d come to the right store and my wife would be blown away. And…… she was! Because of Gabriel, I’m husband of the year for the next milestone of 10 years. Gabriel, you’re a customer service was above and beyond, sir! My wife and I appreciate you and can’t thank you enough. Now, I’ll have to find a way to top the diamond earrings, diamond necklace, and diamond bracelet. You know what? I shop at the 1010 S Canal Chicago address but since that location does not do upgrades I was sent to the101 S State...I was quoted 250.00 for the total price for everything. I get to the system street location and was told that they could not honor price. I been a Kay customer since 2010 and you would think I would be provided better service. Its sad

South State St. These folks are amazing. Reminds me of the kindness and patience I miss from back home. This was a lifelong decision and it felt good to have them on my side without any pressure and just about any option at my fingertips. Great, wide range of mens rings to select in store and online better than a lot of places I went that day. I felt taken care of, respected, and listened to with my own experience and knowledge coupled with their experience and knowledge and I finally was able to find the ring for me, for a decent price I might add! I gave this place a chance and the atmosphere was far beyond what I expected. Thanks again, Ill be back!

This is a wonderful store. David was amazing. Excellent customer service and extremely helpful. I went in the store on a rainy day without an umbrella. Not only did he find a larger bag to accommodate my other purchases, he was able to change the battery in my significant others fossil watch (special tools are required). The staff was helpful and accommodating and they did not pressure or attempt to make the sale. I would highly recommend this location.

Overall, the store is nice and conveniently located. The salesperson with the low-cut was very helpful, friendly and very personable. My only issue with this location of the lack of stroller/wheelchair access. I had to use the back entrance the last time I went with my toddler. This can actually be a security issue on their part!

Best customer experience Ive ever had! Got a great price which came to $196.50 total. The guy in the store, Dave, recommended a bar down the block for us to have a drink. An hour later he came in and found us at the bar to give me the $3 in change that Id left in the store. Super helpful, friendly and a great experience. Highly recommended.

I had an awesome experience with David. I went into the store Thursday to have a very special cross chain sent out to be fixed. When I arrived the store had a few customers. David stopped what he was doing in the back office to assist me. The most amazing thing happened. He replaced my chain with a brand new one out of the case. On top of that he offered to clean both pairs of my earrings. He went above and beyond what I expected. My customer experience was awesome ☺️☺️

Salespeople at Orland Park Mall location were rude and charged me $16 for a cheap, metal ring guard that broke after a week and half and scratched up my engagement ring. David at the State St. location was extremely kind, very knowledgeable and helpful in providing me with a free replacement. A rare and wonderful customer service experience. Would definitely visit this location again.

They literally treat you like if you are an idiot and you dont know what you are talking about. I purchased a ring from this location and simply wanted to get it resized. When I asked for the ring to be shipped to another location, they immediately asked me to just go to the other location. This was right after both reps looked at each other rolling their eyes. They insisted the other location was nearby, but a 30 minute walk in the cold weather is not something I wanted to do. When I mentioned this to the lady, her comment was thats why they have buses. The experience was honestly one of the worst. 100% will not recommend this location to anyone. And if you are one of the sales ladies reading this, I dare you to contradict my story. I believe their disrespectful behavior was as a result of me turning down their extended warranty offer.

David is great manager! He was extremely helpful with a broken chain on my necklace. After several attempts a soldering a very thin fragile chain, he replaced it for me for a sturdier chain, free of cost. He patiently talked me through all my options and made recommendations. He even threw in a free ring cleaning.David is very good at what he does, genuinely wants to help, and very knowledgeable, I would recommend working directly with him at this store.

My husband got me my engagement here about 2 years ago. Today one of the diamonds fell off the ring. I take very good care of my ring so I know it is the craftsmanship that is the issue.Do not buy anything from kay jewelers unless you dont mind diamonds falling left and right from whatever jewelry youre wearing.

I spontaneously decided I couldnt wait to propose any longer. I had been walking past this Kay Jewelers for months since the Palmer House is my dream wedding location. But I could only propose if I had the rings. My friend and I raced in 30 minutes before closing. I was worried but determined. Once we walked in and had Niani on our side, anything felt possible. She was so gracious to be a part of the photos, told us the history of the building from the columns to the ceiling, and made this spontaneous proposal feel meant to be. She is the definition of top notch customer service, and I cant thank her enough for making the evening a huge success before the, Yes!

Every time I come in they go above and beyond. my chain to my Open heart necklace frequently breaks they know me on a first name basis and have even given me a free chain when Ive been in too many times to get it fixed Im actually crying making this review because I remember all the times they have went above and beyond their customer service experience to make me feel welcomed into continue to let me come back.

Had absolutely wonderful service fr4:40 PM 7/19/2018om Store Manager David B. Naster this afternoon. I brought in a very tarnished brass necklace. Not from Kay. I was a zero revenue opportunity person. He cheerfully placed my necklace into their ultrasonic (?) cleaner and removed years of tarnish. Then he went in the back and polished it until it gleamed like new! And he and his staff were absolutely delightful with me, who represented zero revenue opportunity. And then he cheerfully cleaned my diamond rings. In this day and age of nonexistent and horrible customer service, Kay’s State Street is a breath of fresh air. Highly recommend.

My experience earlier this year at this store was surprisingly disappointing after reading so many positive reviews. I spoke with the manager about an anniversary ring I wanted to have custom made. He was very attentive and kind but seemed a little more rushed towards the end of our conversation as I insisted on simple features and inexpensive materials. He gave me his card and said he would get in touch in the next few days once he had a chance to look for a ring like the one I wanted. After a week passed I reached out to the manager by phone and by email. He never responded. I sent one last email and then moved on to purchase the ring elsewhere. I wonder if my potential purchase just wasn’t worth enough to the manager. I hope that my appearance that day did not have affect his opinion of me. I was wearing sweatpants and had just come from a dance class.

My fiance and I selected our wedding bands from this location and the experience was one of the worst that I have experienced. We had selected bands a week earlier, placed them on hold/layaway (along with a pair of earrings I decided against), and promised our sales associate Maggie that we would return for my twice yearly ring cleaning and inspection.Well today 6/5/15 we were helped by Julie & Lucy and I was seconds away from cancelling the layaway and leaving with nothing. From the beginning of the interaction to the very end we were met with attitude, assumptions about the store credit credit that he was added to as an authorized user. The problems began when I stated to Lucy that I no longer wanted the earrings but wanted to purchase the rings. For whatever reason, my fiancees name was not showing in the system, but instead of the store associates calling the corporate office to verify or assist us in locating the appropriate information, we were met with disdain.At no point in the interaction did the associates attempt to ask the appropriate question to address our reason for the visit. We did receive several annoyed sighs, eye rolls and curt responses from Julie while Lucy was confused and needed assistance with completing our transaction. My fiancee and I each have over 10 years of retail experience and from my perspective there was nothing difficult about what we were requesting! My engagement ring was purchased in December and we were attempting to use as much of the Santa Bucks as we qualified for, close the layaway completely, place the bands onto the Kay store credit and put down a deposit...seems fairly straightforward.After he called and confirmed himself as an authorized user, there were still awkward exchanges (mainly due to Lucys lack of experience it would seem) and Julie wanting to go home (over heard that little nugget of information when she said that to another employee on the sales floor). At the end of the day we were handed our rings and left without an apology for any inconveniences or the rings being cleaned before being placed in boxes.A moment shouldve been a happy memory was ruined by inefficiency and sales associates that were less than enthusiastic and clearly counting the minutes until it was time to go home. I will avoid this location, but obviously have to return to Kay for inspections and cleanings.If you have to shop at this location, stick with Maggie!

For some reason my finger got stuck on my index finger and I wasnt able to take it off. My finger was getting red and it was dumb thicc. I was freaking out cuz i had a ceremony to attend that night. I called Kay since it was the closest one to me. Asking if they got a ring cutter. They said yeah but when i got there they couldnt find it and said their boss took it away. I went from 100-0 real quick. I didnt wanna go to urgent care and spend hella money. and then miss the ceremony. BUT Antoine and David came in clutch asf. LIKE REAL CLUTCH ASF. The homie David said we can do the string trick. Without hesitation i said yeah. Next thing you know bop goes the weasel the ring came out!

10 star recommemdation for David at kay on state street. I Bought a diamond bracelet for my gf for xmas that was too big and had to get links taken out. A very confused woman there took it, charged me another $60 and sent it away for 2 weeks while trying to aggressively sell me other items at the same time. then it came back 2 weeks later exactly the same no links out. I went in there ready for war and david pulled me aside, introduced himself, appoligized, calmed me down and did the job himself in the store. He then took my origial payment to fix it and applied it to a lifetime warranty for my gf. He personally called me to just update me on things and when i go in there now he always remembers my name. I cant remember the last time i saw customer service like that anywhere anymore!!!!! If you need to buy some jewelery make sure you go see DAVID at kay on state. He will give you an honest deal and you will have a jeweler for life.
