I cant express how amazing this place is. My girlfriend and I were starting to look at engagement rings and everyone at this store was beyond friendly and helpful. The two people helping us were Samantha and Ava and they truly made this process fun and easy. My girlfriend was unsure exactly what she wanted, and Sam and Ava spent many nights helping us look for rings and figure out the perfect one!

Sam and Ava have been the best help we could have ever hoped for. I have learned throughout this process that I am extremely indecisive but Sam and Ava always did everything they could to make sure I would love the final product with all of my heart. My experience was awesome! Steve was super nice and professional. We got engaged on Xmas eve and brought the ring in on Saturday and they were able to get it sized by Sunday!!! My daughter received a ring from her grandmother when she turned 13. She loved it and wore it all the time. It was a simple ring, silver with an abalone setting. After 10 years of almost constant wear it was damaged during a move from Austin to Chicago. The ring had been badly misshapen and the pretty abalone shell had broken off. I found it by accident and remembered how important it was then, and more so now since her grandmother passed away. I decided to repair the ring in time for my daughters birthday, and googled around for jewelers. Based on their reviews and the quick and thoughtful responses via email, I decided to go with James & Sons Fine Jewelers on Halsted. And I honestly couldnt have made a better choice. Since abalone was not available, I opted to use the birthstone instead. Jimmy took the time needed to source the right stone that would complement the ring and be cost effective. The ring was repaired, cleaned and polished that it was almost unrecognizable. I was floored! The attention to detail, genuine care and appreciation for a ring whose value was rich more in sentiment than monetary, was pretty amazing. Stopped in to James & Sons on Halsted to inquire about service on a Tissot. Samantha and Kelsey were most friendly and helpful. Even though it is a very modest timepiece, the staff at James & Sons treated me and my watch with every bit of respect and care as if I had come into buy a Rolex. After the piece returned from the Tissot Service Center (about 3 weeks), Kelsey carefully explained all of the work that was done and insisted that she set the proper date and time for me. Needed to get my wedding ring resized and am new to the Chicagoland area. We have a family jeweler back in our home town and I don’t have access to their services. I called around to a number of big box jeweler and a handful of privately owned and operate (I prefer to patronize small businesses but I didn’t know where to look initially). Anyway, James and Sons had the best pricing and the turn around wasn’t even a week. All services are done in house, which is ideal. My ring fits perfectly and shines like the day I got it. The staff is knowledgeable and very hospitality/customer service minded. Coming from the hospitality industry myself, one of the things that I always stressed to ng staff was the importance of answering the phones before three rings and to smile while they answer. Samantha did just that. I could hear it in her voice. I will be returning to James and Sons for any and all jewelry and watch repairs while we live here. Period

Oh my, where do I begin?! Since early May 2018 I have been working with Cara to help me design and decide on how to re-configure my great grandmothers wedding band for it to sit well with my engagement ring. It is a gorgeous ring and I was very hesitant on altering it, very hesitant! I also know absolutely NOTHING about jewelry in general, but Cara and the rest of the staff helped me learn, which I am also thankful for. I changed my ideas, DRASTICALLY 3 different times, and each and every time, Cara was so patient and helped me start all over. In the end, I never altered my great grandmothers ring, but instead added a new band that was customized to sit in between the two rings and it looks stunning! I could not have done this at all without the help from Cara and her team....Tina has also helped me in the past and at one point, I had every staff member helping me! It was a big deal to me and they made me feel so comfortable and truly wanted to make sure I was 100% happy and comfortable with my decision. I would never go to another jewelry store, every single staff member is incredibly helpful, energetic, and they genuinely care. Its something you do not see as much anymore, and I sure hope their staff gets recognition for their outstanding service. I was in Chicago for the week on a business trip and went to the recent event this weekend at James at sons in Lincoln park. As someone who owns and has purchased multiple rolexes from other AD’s I have an expectation to be treated with respect. I have never been treated so poorly in my life. I was dealing directly with the manager she was extremely rude and unprofessional. Even if you are purchasing a Casio you should not be treated this way let alone a Rolex that cost over 10k. Take your business elsewhere and be treated with the white glove service you deserve. I am appalled by the service I received here and I would never recommend them to anyone.

I went to this store because I saw the reviews in google and they are absolutely true . I went without an appointment and I met Steve he was really good with my and had the patience to show me and explain me everything about my engagement ring . One thing that I loved is that they are not pushy sometimes you go to a jewelry store and they want you to buy right away it wasn’t the case and I’m really happy with my decision.

Sam was awesome, she helped us get our wedding bands and then helped us for almost 2 hours while we looked for gifts for people in our wedding. She kept a good attitude the whole time and pulled at least 30 items out of the case to show to us. She was extremely helpful.
