If i could gave this place a zero star I would not professional people they don’t know what are they doing they make me wait in the waiting room for more than 35 minutes while they were doing nothing just talking don’t go there. My experience was great, both my mother and I had our eyes checked and needed a pair of glasses.. The experience followed COVID guidelines, my only concern would be my wait to see a doctor (there might have been some confusion with both having the same surname, I am not sure), but that was a minor inconvenience. Overall, I was extremely happy with the optometrist and the trainee. The front desk staff however could be a tidbit more friendly.

They do pretty good with keeping you within your range and making sure your know about your health prior making any decisions.Exceptional customer service!!

Worse experience in years.First the good parts:1. Easy to make an appointment, i called and was able to meet the doctor one day later.2. Easy to comminute to the south loop location, free parking.The bad parts:1. I was planning to reuse my old frame, which is completely legit, however, the salesperson wont accept it because of one small scratch on one the eyeglass temple, until i promised I will be fully responsible for any consequences.2. The store staff immediately handed me a bill of $400 (after insurance deduction) without even asking me if I had any preference. They just made all decisions for me and expected me to pay whatever they choose, and i did not even know what type of lens im getting! I have had eyeglasses and contact lens for more than two decades and i know what i need and dont, in my past experience with 8+ optics stores I never experience something like this. My eyes are not completely blind (sphere -2.5 ) and i dont need the fancy high index glasses, and I dont see great differences between premium anti-scratch & platinum anti-glare coating and the standard versions. It was another hard and unnecessary negotiation with the salesperson before I can choose what I want.3. The store staff talked in a way that was hard for other people to catch, Im not complaining about the accent, but the speed and clarity of her speaking. Im not sure if she did it on purples so people dont understand what exactly they are getting.4. The worse part: the doctor assigned me the wrong contact lens. Just read the picture, For left eye axis 90 on the prescription and 180 on the actual contact lens. I am contacting a malpractice attorney now.Conclusion: if you are not in a hurry to get eye exam and dont mind drive 30 minutes more to other stores, not recommend. Careless doctor, unprofessional and rude sales staff. The visionworks store at south loop is a shame to other stores in this country.

Update: After I posted this, they replied and asked me to send them an email at their customer service email address. I did and they replied, asked for my name and phone number which I gave. After that, nothing. 5 days later still nothing. You have got to be kidding me! Visionworks DOESNT WORK!!!Went in for an eye exam. My appointment was at 4:30, I was seen past 5. And the student doctor did all the explaining, i was seen by the optometrist for like 5 minutes. They prescribed me a glasses, which I was charged very expensively, promised me it will come within 2 weeks. On promised date my glasses were still not ready. The status on their website says my order was on the start stage. Start? Its been 2 weeks!!!! I called customer service (who was so RUDE) but they couldnt even give me a specific status. Who would be happy with maybe it will come tomorrow. Are you kidding me???? And you cant even tell me why its taking so long? You cant call the lab or someone and tell me something better???? I wish I never went to your store!!!!!

The optometrist is very good.The rest of the store resembles a corporate scam that does not care about patients and only cares about maximizing profits. They show no options on costing out products and charge more if you have eye insurance. Purchasing glasses for a family should not cost more because I pay eye insurance every month.Also picking up glasses was terrible experience. They basically tossed them at kids and in very unprofessional way. When my son reported them not fitting the attendant was angry. We walked out with our glasses - the store made over a thousand dollars and we did not even get a thank you.Terrible- horrible- business.Shame on you.

Today, Lawanda assisted me in the arduous task of picking out new glasses. She was tremendously helpful, knowledgeable and friendly! I would recommend this location to anyone.

Was a customer for the last two years. Do not plan on returning to this location. I understand being understaffed. I arrived at my 5:20 appointment at 5:21, was told they were understaffed and to wait to check in. I waited for almost 15 minutes and was told I was “late” for my appointment at the doctor left before 5:15. Very unprofessional, did not receive a call that the doctor was leaving PRIOR to my appointment time...

I have to admit going in after reading the constant bad reviews regarding customer service, I was worried and wanted to cancel my appt to save myself the trouble. However I walked in and theyre was a small error with another customer and although the customer was a bit upset the employee was very accommodating and apologetic.Customer Service was great and kind and of course along with the reviews the Doctor was amazing and informative. So far I will be returning to this location. I will update when I pick up my eye glasses. That seems to be where most of the complaints are coming from. Im hoping for another great experience.

Agreed with some of the recent reviews that their customer service is getting much worse. I have been a customer at this place for 2 years and i was happy about my experience here before. However I got really offended by their saleswomen 2 weeks ago. The saleswomen basically provided me with wrong information when I bought the glasses. When I returned to pick it up, I realized the lens was much thicker than expected. When I asked her about it, she was very rude and she told me youre showing me attitude and Im not an expert so I dont know how thick the lens could be, you wore glasses before so you should know. Excuse me? Youre the sales here and I should teach you the knowledge about the products that you sell? I feel really disappointed by this experience and for sure I will never come back.

I should read the reviews before returning here to use my insurance before it expiring. I am really not too sure when this store or the company lost its way and I understand that this is a extremely busy time of the year for them but service here is just disgusting now. I came in two months ago for a adjustment even on my glasses and it felt like I was a burden to the staff. And today, I felt compelled to create a Google account only to post this review after my experience yesterday. My experience last year was super nice and the only positive I still see here is Dr. Popovic, sad to learn the GM that worked with her this time last year moved on. But management now really needs work. Come here only for Dr. Popovic!

Just a depressing store to shop in, I was here last year in October to buy contacts and a totally different atmosphere. I came back hoping to find the same energy & same gentleman, especially during these circumstances. Just a sad store now not sure what happened here to the last team but the doctor Angelina is still here, only positive. But not sure you want to go through the retail team for that now.

Terrible service. Going to purposely drive 6 miles further to go to another Visionworks.I understand this is during a pandemic. I haven’t been here beforehand. The workers clearly do not want to be there. I can tell by their tone and body language.I had my prescription sent from another Visionworks location. The other location confirmed with me that it was sent. When I arrived they had no records. I left them the other location’s contact information for them to retrieve it. (Cutting out the middle man). The store called me back and told me they received it and to make an appointment. I made an appointment. Showed up, and they have no records of it. The employee asked me to call the other location again to send it over. That is NOT good customer service. Why not cut me out of the middle and ask me for the store information and retrieve the information instead of breaking the bad news to me and telling me to do it. I then asked to browse the eyewear because I plan on purchasing. Wow, I could see that frown behind the mask. I selected “to make a purchase” as my appointment reasoning. She didn’t even suggest for me to browse. This is a depressing store with depressing employees! I overheard someone asking about a worker insurance coverage, and the worker explained it like the customer just T-boned her car. Just a sad saddddddd vibe.

I have been a customer for years, but over the last 2 years I noticed a steady decline in customer service. The sales staff is consistently openly rude and bothered to help. The Optometrist is very friendly, but not enough for me to wade through the staff to get to her.

I was very disappointed with the quality of customer service that staff at the Canal (Southgate) location provided during my visit. I understand the stress and paranoia that exists in our world due to Covid 19 at this time, however this does not excuse their careless behavior towards customers like myself. The eye exam was quick. I was able to get most of my questions answered. The doctor was great but the staff was terrible. They were very rude for when I scheduled an appointment to pick up my glasses. They interrupted me several times during the call and were dismissive in the scheduling. In the past, I have been asked to try on my glasses before taking them home to ensure that my glasses are in perfect condition. But this time the staff had no hospitality in giving me my glasses. No greeting. No follow up questions. She simply handed the bag with my glasses and said nothing. I asked if I could try them on and she walked away staying that I was not supposed to. This did not make any sense to me as I paid a lot of money.

Never write reviews but this time I feel compelled. First off let me say if you’re looking to have a good experience, do NOT come here. Terrible customer service from the employees all the way to the manger. As soon as you walk through the door they have an attitude. Made an appointment for a child to get his glasses repaired (which were purchased through here) and to get contacts. When the “manager” came over, she said verbatim “I don’t why they didn’t tell you his prescription requires plastic frames that’s why they keep tilting. They can’t be metal.” Okay, cool. Then it gets better. Spent 5 minutes arguing with the Manager because after she repaired the glasses I then brought up doing the contacts. She proceeded to tell me I needed an appointment. Okay. So that’s why I’m here, because I have an appointment. After back and fourth.. I asked her to look into it. She goes to the computer and see’s the notes that it’s in there. She continued to tell me I still needed an appointment. Well, that’s exactly why I’m here.. because I have an appointment. She said I booked online. I showed her my call log and said I called and spoke to someone on the phone 2 days prior. Just because whoever booked the appointment put it in wrong, she wanted me to make another appointment. Perhaps she needed me to provide some clarity per our conversation because that was not happening. After going back and fourth she finally said okay we can do it. However, it shouldn’t even be that. Why am I arguing with you when I did nothing wrong. All for us to be with the doctor for FIVE minutes.

Dr. Angelina Popovic is a consummate professional! She is personable and from start to finish my exam was comprehensive and thorough. She is patient when answering questions and is tremendously knowledgeable. I appreciated the way she went the extra mile explaining things from a medical perspective to breaking down which contact lenses and drops would be most helpful. The location is convenient with easy parking. Highly recommend!

Great customer service! When they say If youre glasses arent perfect, well fix them they mean it. When I got home I noticed my frames didnt fit they way I wanted. As it was not correctable they let me pick out another pair of frames and cut a new pair of lenses for them. No hassle whatsoever. I would highly recommend this retailer!

I had a very nice experience there. Staff were helpful, courteous, and quite professional. When my glasses arrived, the technician noted a very minor error, and as they sent them back for adjustment, Don called me to inform me of the issue and to keep me updated, which I find highly commendable.

Basically ruined my glasses... had my lenses replaced on my favorite frames and they became extremely stretched out and the glare is horrendous. It was so bad I had to just buy new glasses because I can’t even use these. Completely ruined my frames.

**EDIT** I was on the phone for OVER AN HOUR Thursday trying to call again thinking maybe I just wasn’t waiting long enough for someone to answer. After 30 minutes someone answered, asked me what location I was trying to reach, then put me back on hold for an additional 35 minutes before I finally hung up. I have screenshots to prove it. I also messaged customer service on the visionworks website and was told I’d be contacted within 48 hours. It’s been over 48 hours and still nothing. I cannot believe businesses like this are allowed to exist.Don’t come here unless you have no other choice. Trying to get ahold of someone on the phone is like winning the lottery. The doctor was great but the store workers were rude and incompetent every time I’ve dealt with them. They act like you are burdening them for simply arriving to your appointment. I ordered a pair of glasses almost two months ago to be sent to the store and picked up, but I still have yet to be notified whether or not they have arrived and since no one ever answers the phone I can’t even ask someone. I’m sure they are just sitting there at the store and someone is too lazy to call.

I enjoy going to this location for all of my glasses. While I have worked with other staffers, I mainly work with Danish. It is a pleasure to work with him and he always wants to make sure I am happy with my purchase. If there is a problem, Danish ALWAYS makes sure you are satisfied. When I ask for his opinion of how my selection of glasses look as I try them on, and he gives me an honest opinion -- he might say, no, not that one or yes, that one looks good, and I appreciate that. I have found Danish to be pleasant, patient and very considerate. Also Dr. Popovic performs my eye exams, and I have only had great experiences with her. I recommend everyone to give this location a try!

I came in with my mother to grab a pair of reading glasses for her and ended up getting amazed by the level of customer service provided! The General Manager, Danish, so kindly explained that they do not have cheaters, but can definitely get some quality readers made. The service that my mother and I received was outstanding. I needed to acquire some reading glasses as I broke my old one and I was told to go to this location. I went in and my expectations were blown away. The store looked clean and amazing. The staff was very courteous and patient with me. Their general manager, Danish, helped me immensely and showed me a variety of glasses to choose from. He was truly one of the nicest managers I’ve met. Overall, going there was a great experience. I look forward to going there again and recommend others to go there.

My dad and I brought a outside prescription with Rosin Optical, their pricing was just very unreasonable. I came to Visionworks with the hopes of finding something more cost suitable. A very nice gentleman, Danish brought it to my attention that I had vision insurance and very thoughtfully explained to me how I can get the best bet for my money. My father was very pleased with Karina and I was very surprised to learn I had vision insurance. Ive been going to one eye doctor since I was an infant. Nearly forty years. He retired a few years ago, and Ive been without ever since. I went, sort of randomly to a few different places, saw a few different doctors, and never had a particularly bad experience with any of them. But no one quite measured up to what I had known. Old story, right?One day, a few months ago, a co-worker asked me if I had settled on a new eye doctor yet. My heroic search for a replacement for a life-long relationship was quite common knowledge. I informed her with a smile that I had not, and she casually suggested Angelina Popovic at Visionworks Southport. Last week, I scheduled an appointment, and yesterday I met my new forever eye doctor.Angelina is everything I loved about my old eye doctor. Shes warm, engaging, knowledgeable, and genuinely interested in her patients, their concerns and, as in my case, their inane questions. I havent felt so comfortable with a doctor - eye or otherwise - since forever. Thanks!

Dr. Angelina Popovic is very knowledgeable and answers questions. This is not a review of her.After my appointment I was told to browse glasses which I did until I realized no one was available to help me decide on a pair or order them so I put them back and went to the cashier to pay for my appointment and leave. They had the glasses lab tech, who did not have knowledge of insurance billing or what my appointment even included (toric contacts fitting, retinal photography etc) ring me up for a standard eye exam. My insurance information was never entered by the appointment setter so after the third time of giving my billing address etc for another wrong total the process was taken over by a salesperson who said she could help me with product purchasing as well.She didnt bother listening to my confusion over the insurance coverage of frames vs contacts and which one would be in my budget at the time. She asked which glasses I liked, I found the pair thinking she would price them out for me but she proceeded to ring them up with every premium lens and coating cost available as well as a year of contacts and pushed the grand total of $550 to the card reader for payment.I extracted the information on how much one box of each prescriptions contacts would be, did the math and told her how many I wanted. The new amount was sent to the card reader and I paid. It was once I was given the receipt I finally had the itemized breakdown. And they over charged me for my appointment. The manager, who is kind and patient and actually helpful, straightened that out for me that evening and refunded me.My contacts were due to arrive in two weeks, as I was in the middle of a move they said it was no problem to send it to the store in my new town. A month passed with no word from anyone. The new store didnt receive anything and in calling the Canal store no one was there who could look into an order so they took my name and number. 24 hours later I called multiple times until someone picked up the phone and they recognized my name. Since I had a small portion of a service refunded, they never ordered my contacts which were fully paid for. They put the order in a few hours ago but never bothered contacting me.They will however be contacting me in an undisclosed amount of time when they arrive in Chicago so I can give them the address of the only vision works in my new town. They cant look it up themselves or take care of it now when they are already on the phone. Cant wait to jump through all those hoops so maybe I can get the product I paid for a month ago and can finally see.If you value your own time and money, customer service and clear communication this isnt the place for you.

I ordered contacts from vision works located by south cancel in January didn’t get them until March. This was my first time waiting a month for a pair of contacts. The receptionist were tired of me calling every other week asking if they were in until my sixth time calling to find out they were in and never receiving a notification that they were delivered. The staff here is amazing. I had a problem with another eye glass and Danish Qadri the GM and her staff bent over backwards to help me. I am old fashion and like good customer service, Danish is the most pleasant person I have ever met in retail. This store is has a great selection and isnt in a rush to get to the next person, your concerns actually matter. Danish and Vision-works at Canal St have a customer for life with me.

I just left and Its a Great day in America for me. I was able to get an examination and my New glasses in less then two hours. Appointment at 11:45am and pick up my New glasses by 1:15pm no lie. Other my say they had a bad day here but Now Its the best place I KNOW

Ive been coming to this location for eye exams for several years and have always been pleased with the service. Dr. Popovic is the best! Kind, friendly, knowledgeable, and very thorough. Went in a few days ago, and the young man at the front desk quickly & efficiently checked me in & looked up my insurance. The woman who did my tests before seeing the dr. was also very friendly, as was the woman who processed my payment afterwards. I was in & out in 30min with a fresh supply of contacts.

I love this place! It has been very hard for me to find good customer service when it came time to purchase my glasses. Other places were either unprofessional or would take forever to ship my glasses. Will definitely be coming back! Their staff, especially Cynthia was friendly and very professional.
