I stopped here to see if they could tighten a pair of sunglasses I bought online at another retailer. Not only did they fix the problem quickly but Cole (the manager) was super friendly and helped answer some other questions I had about eye exams. Great experience overall. Will be back!

This is my second time here and it’s the very first time I met Cole (General Manager) and they were such a very kind and patient person. Very patient and very helpful with excellent customer service. Definitely satisfied customer.

I went to get my contacts fitted today and I struggled for a very long time. Violet was very professional and helped me. I really appreciate her patience and she tried her best to help me with my new contacts. I love the service there and will continue to keep going.

This place has kind of gone down hill. The person who was helping me purchase frames was incredibly rude when I asked about getting contacts refills, she freaked out and said Id need another appointment even though my prescription hadnt changed. I dont think I will come back here the selection wasnt good and the employees seem to be underpaid judging by their attitudes. The doctor is cool though he reminds me of Rick Steves

I was recommended to go here by a neighbor in the community and I am happy I took their advice. The customer service was outstanding. Violeta was able to help me maximize my insurance benefits and also found additional benefits to help me get 2 extra pairs of glasses basically for free. In doing this she ended up having to stay late, after the store had closed, just to make sure we were taken care of. I have gone to multiple eye doctors in the neighborhood and have never had such a good experience. Doctor Miller was also very nice and made my 8 year old feel very comfortable and finally found a pair of contacts comfortable for my wife. I will definitely be back and recommend to Visionworks to my neighbors in the future.

This location was so easy to get to and the staff resolved my issue quickly. As a patient of a different visionworks, they were so quick to help me by supplying me with a seven day sample of contact lenses that matched my prescription. Violet was so sweet and was able to get me my contacts within an hour. Will start visiting this location more often, thank you!

After 2 years of hiding due to the pandemic, I finally came out and got my eyes checked again. Ran out of contacts and needed some ASAP! Everyone here is super friendly and very helpful. Violet took care of me and helped me take full advantage of my insurance benefits for both 2021 and what I didnt use in 2020! She explained all of the costs thoroughly and took the time to help me choose my perfect pair of glasses as well as contacts. I cant wait until my tortoise shell glasses are ready for pick up. I definitely recommend this location!

Had a good experience overall. Cole the GM needs to be less judgey. I somehow lost my mask leaving work, so I just ran in to pick up my new glasses. (I figured they’d have mask) he told me to grab one, and I complied, but it broke. I asked for another, and it broke as well. When I was telling him that they broke and that I needed a garbage, he started rudely telling me that there has been a mandate for two weeks… so I snapped back. Cole as a manager you should never be demeaning towards people. If you’re having a bad day, excuse yourself and get yourself together.

First time at vision works. Large selection of frames, all reasonably priced. They offer the standard high index lenses with various coatings, much like other glasses stores. The price points are similar. Unfortunately, if you have a large corrective index your lenses will be expensive. The staff of the store went above and beyond in helping me find a pair, and in keeping the store open ten minutes late when my transaction ran late. Great experience.

I made an appointment for my 3 year old daughter, my 5 year old son and myself. When I came to my appointment they told me children under 5 can not be seen. I dont understand stand why their staff hasnt been trained properly. Then she tells my son does not have an appointment. The people that make the appointment need to be trained better. And the people working at the front should not be on their phones while customers need to be helped. so unprofessional and poor customer service.

Let me start off by saying it was a waste of time going here because Cole was extremely passive aggressive to my wife and I. You seriously feel like you’re being treated like a child here. I feel obligated to let others know The “customer service” there was completely nonexistent. Cole was unfortunately the one helping us. I came in to get new glasses with insurance. Found two frames and wanted to know what I would end up paying for each individually with lenses. Had my insurance information ready and he starts typing in his computer and tells me it’s one price. I ask for the second pair price then he gives me that. I ask a few questions about lenses and my concern with the price in a very kind manner. Cole’s tone changes into one that is frustrated and tired and tells me “Sir, it is blah blah blah”. We all know when they say Sir or Mam it feels like you are the problem. Well that’s how it felt. His tone changed completely 180 degrees. My wife and I felt extremely uncomfortable and a bit scared when he started talking in that tone. Cole ended up acting like a child when we decided to walk away and kindly excused ourselves to go to Target Optical, he snatched the glasses from the desk area he was helping us at and angrily walks over to the front desk and just throws the glasses down like a child. Like someone before me said, this man is acting like he works at Louis Vuitton or Ferrari dealership or something. I’m very disappointed in my time that was wasted here. THIS REVIEW IS NOT FOR THIS PLACE TO GET BETTER. THIS REVIEW IS FOR PEOPLE TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. I’m not going to say that Visionworks is bad, because I have been to one that is absolutely phenomenal. Go to the South Pulaski one. Yes, it is about 50 minutes from this location but it is worth your time and they will deliver what you need which is glasses not aggressive tones and childish behavior.

Store closes at 7pm. Showed up 6:30. The door said be right back sign. Half the lights were shut off. The lady with purple hair was the very rude. Told her I have valid Rx and need to pick out my glasses. She refused stating that she will have to clean all the glasses I touched and they close at 7pm and she still has to count the money. WHAT!? Yes you close at 7pm. It’s way before it, you have to serve your costumer! Did I mention she was extremely rude through out this whole experience ?!!!!Been here before, have tried on glasses. It wouldn’t have taken me long to try on my favorite two and order one.Very poop customer service! Make sure you all go there when it’s convenient for them!!

This was the WORST experience I have ever had stepping into an establishment, at that - a corporate establishment. Cole (the general manager that has a million terrible reviews on here) was extremely passive aggressive, rude, and even yelled the F word at me when I told him that I did not appreciate the way he spoke to me. Absolutely incompetent. After they puffed and flashed and poked my eyes, which is all very uncomfortable, they then realized to ask if I had contacts in and informed me I would have to take them out and do the puffing, flashing, poking again. Very unprofessional.

I was there today for my yearly vision exam. The gentleman who performed the exam was extremely impatient with me. When I asked to please repeat the switch of the lense he would reply that I wasnt to make out the letters but clarity. He didnt try to hide his frustration in his tone. He got impatient because the lense would fog with my breathing due to the mask. I honestly felt like a child who was in trouble for not getting it right. I was in the exam room for probably a total of 10 minuted if that. I really hope my prescription is correct. I will call my insurance company first thing Monday morning to file a report just in case I have trouble with my prescription. Otherwise the floor staff was excellent. They were all very polite.

We went in got the eye test chose frames, the rep didn’t know how to process the insurance, said the manager would do it Thursday, Thursday came no manager, Friday no manager, they never called called them back to check status the girl that took our order no longer worked there, chose frames again,Saturday went for my frames since I got message they were ready, they couldn’t find my husbands, finally they checked they were in shipping, called today for his glasses they are there but arrived with no nose pads so they are not ready, they use to be so good with their service, their reps seem not to care

I found Dr. Miller to be rather rude and impersonal. He seemed impatient and rushed and entirely uninterested in what I had to say, interrupting me at points to hurry through the eye exam and get me on my way. I just hope the prescription he ultimately gave me is even correct. Rest of the staff were fine.

I got the best service from Violet. She was very energetic and a real delight. I saved a bunch and had a great experience the Doc was really nice and very informative as well. Definitely 5 stars.

Hi. This Vision-works Branch on Ellston Avenue is a true gem. My eyeglass frame was a problem from Day 1. And yet from Day 1 the kind people at Vision-Works tried to repair my frame each time I came in. Finally, the frame broke. The lovely ladies their immediately switched my frame with another one that was in stock on the wall. They transferred lenses into the new frame. This process took over an hour to complete but they were so patient and got the job done. Informing me every step of the way. They even waived my deductible as a customer courtesy for my lost time.This is the location that you need to visit if you need new glasses. And do buy the optional warranty. It is worth every dime.Thank you Elston Vision-Works Ladies again!!

Went there for my spouses eye exam and glasses. First we were pushed into buying some sort of extra retina exam which our insurance didnt cover fully and we kept refusing for. The staff was quite unprofessional including the doctor. Lastly, after you have paid, they will treat you with least care. We bought a Calvin Klein frame and at the time of delivery were given a cheap plastic case from visionworks which was too tight for the frame and obviously not a good fit for that frame. We asked for the original calvin klein case so that it keeps the frame safe and were denied outright! When we pushed their staff was rude. They eventually gave the original frame case however they were rude! Dont go here and save yourself the embarrassment.

The associate took time out to explain all the different aspects of my prescription which helped me to decide on the right frames for me. She laid out all the pricing options, with and without add-ons, and made it very easy to pick the right option for my needs given my budget. He has to be the best seller I ever encounter. Doctors visit was extremely impersonal. I requested to have my contacts & glasses shipped to my address. I had to contact the store 3 different times to check on my items. On the third call when both of my items were there they let me know they didnt ship them because they didnt have the address on both items. This leaves me questioning when I wouldve received my items if I had never followed up? To top it all off there was no option for expedited shipping once this mistake was discovered. Overall a mediocre experience and I will NOT be returning to this location.

This is the best experience I have ever had with a vision provider. The doctor I had seen was very friendly and super down to earth. The staff is completely welcoming. The prices are also reasonable. I highly recommend Visionworks. I will be a returning customer!

The optometrist I saw was friendly and did a great job explaining the problems with my vision. It is very rare for me to understand what a medical profession is talking about, but when he explained it actually made sense to me :) I used a coupon for a $29 exam, which was accepted. I am the type who prefers to order custom frames online. My experience was easy and efficient, just what I hoped it would be!

I set up my appointment on line. When I arrived I was greeted and helped right away. The general manager, Cole Jobe, was able to determine what my insurance would cover in no time. He encouraged me to look at frames and offered to help. After a short time I was called in to see Dr. Patel, a very pleasant and competent doctor. I have had many years of eye exams and eye doctors on the east coast and in the Midwest, including specialists at Northwestern. The doctors knowledge and the tests performed matched what I was used to...she was thorough and interested. The atmosphere was very pleasant with some other clients browsing for glasses, not getting rushed by staff. I discovered Visionworks a few years ago, then, later, accidentally went to their competitor. I made sure I would not make that mistake again. Visionworks, thank you all!

Went in on Saturday for my eye exam. First guy that greeted me was nice. And the doctor was too and he was also very patient but the girls in the store were really rude to me. I called and Cancelled my order due to unforeseen circumstances. And was told to go to the store, went and was greeted nicely until I told them I was there for a refund. Whoever the Asian girl was that helped me wanted to know why I needed a refund and then told me that card refunds don’t refund right away in a very rude manner. (Even though I know how cards work and refunds are processed because I too work in retail) anyways I won’t be coming back to this location due to rudeness from the girls even if the doctor was super polite.

I have had several very positive experiences at this location, the doctors are great and the staff (especially Kayleen) are very knowledgable and friendly, and take the time to explain all of recommended options for my vision. It’s always a quick, easy visit and I always leave happy.

Just flew in to Chicago for a Cubs game and left my glasses in Austin. This Visionworks location worked miracles - giving me an eye exam, prescription and glasses out the door in less than an hour. Great staff, very friendly and really went the extra mile. The Best!!!

Visionworks like it competitor draw you in with that 2 glasses for $69 lie. It is usually around 2 to 3 hundreds dollars for 2 glasses which is still cheap compares to 1 glasses for the same price like the other eye stores. The place is clean and organized and my Doctor have great manners. My problem was with them and my insurance. I think there is some underhanded stuff going on with them and customers insurance.

I live in Skokie and I go all the way there to get my eye exam, get contacts and glasses because they have excellent customer service, especially Jocelyn so knowledgeable.

Very fast eye exam and helped me pick out some awesome glasses and sunglasses. Provided an incorrect ETA on when my classes would be in. Was told they were part of a shipment that was supposed to arrive 4 days after i ordered them. Called 5 days later to get an update and was told it was going to be another 3-4 days, being Wednesday, that means i wont be seeing them until Saturday- Sunday, which is 8-9 days later. I will not be returning or buying glasses from here again. I also disagree with the company asking you to fill out a review on the day you purchase your glasses. Your review will change by the time you get them so i feel as if they need to ask people when they pick their purchase up. Dont try to get a review before you have completed your end and done your due diligence

The online appointment process is easy and the staff are patient kind and knowledgeable - I took a long time finding the right frames and never once did I feel rushed. The exam itself was done by Dr. Actipes. He clearly knows his stuff and more than that he truly cares about doing his very best for his patients.- Highly recommended.
