If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Worst experience I ever had at an eye doctor!!!This place is full of dishonest crooks who only want to use all you insurance benefits. I came hear for a free LASIK consultation because they were in my insurance network. I called to confirm they offered this service and went in for my appointment I explained to the staff and Dr Olson the purpose of my visit. To my disappointment at the end of my visit Dr Olson took it upon his self to charge my insurance for an exam I never received. When I explained to him his error he pretended like he had no idea what he did. I explained the situation to the front desk and they insisted on keeping the charge on my insurance and not refunding my money.This place lie and deceive BE AWARE!!!

Efficient, friendly, skilled, compassionate staff. Very convenient location. Excellent selection of frames. Super fast turnaround time on glasses and personal attention to proper fit. Yes, you might find a frame a BIT cheaper somewhere else, but that matters very little to me as their staff shines so brightly, compared to the competition. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Horrible experience here, and I wouldnt suggest this office. I saw Dr. Olson, who is wonderful, but my complaints are due to the rest of the staff and the front desk. Before now, my main issue was that whenever I called into the office for questions or to place contact lens orders the front desk staff is SO incredibly rude - once I called in and was hung up on. This was extremely disappointing, but continued to see Dr. Olson because I was happy with the care I received...Most recently, I purchased 1 years worth of contact lenses through the front desk who told me that if I purchased the 1 year supply I would be eligible for a $50 rebate - so obviously that is the best deal after doing the math. I submitted my claim information through Alcon, and was told that my claim was denied because this brand of wasnt covered. I called Dean Optical to explain the situation, and was told that theres nothing they can do (even though they were the ones who assured me the rebate was applicable to my purchase).

The best technology and thorough exam I ever receive. I live over 100 miles away and have been disappointed with local eye exams and services, so I returned to Dean Optical and Dr. DeLee. It is a pleasure to receive excellent, thorough services at a reasonable price.

Dean optical did a great job on my eye exam. They have a very detailed process checking on my eyes, probably 6machines and a few different ways to check my vision degrees.doctor Olson is very experienced and skillful. The contacts he has me to try meet what my eyes need. Staffs are friendly and efficient.

Had a horrible experience. The receptionists always look disinterested and unapproachable to helping. It almost seemed like it was a chore to look up and answer my questions. The one optometrist that was assigned to me was cold and not very friendly.The one person that was nice was the man at the desk at the front who helped show me how to put my contact lenses in.Wouldn’t recommend these optometrists at all.

Extremely unprofessional front desk, very rude, not approachable, doctors are incredible though, only reason for 1 star at all. When you call them, and ask a question they stay quiet, and dont say give me a second, while I search this up. You become curious as to whether they are on the line or not. My prescription had arrived, yet I was not contacted. Everyone at front desk looks like they hate being there, and dont smile to save your life. If you notice, they do not respond to the negative reviews, they are incapable of admitting anything wrong.

Ive seen both Dr. Dennis and Dr. Mike here. Both are extremely thorough and helpful and the care Ive received has been fantastic. Even though my husband and I are located in the north suburbs, more than 30 minutes away, we make the trek out here for our yearly eye exams. Their equipment is far superior compared to other eye doctors Ive been to. My prescriptions have always been spot on and havent had any issue. Though they offer a vast selection of frames, I wish they would offer more of the geek-chic style that I am into...but that has to do with my own personal taste. Generally, wait times arent too bad but my last visit took much longer than expected due to an urgent walk-in who was fit in before me. Understandable, but it would have been nice to have been notified ahead of time when I was checked in.I could choose a more local option for my annual eye exams, but the pros to coming out here outweigh the cons. I will continue to make my way out to go to Dean Optical.

Been going to see Dr. DeLee for over 10 years! Love the practice and recommended a few people here. We commute from the suburbs just to come here. Last time I was here, my contact prescription was not correct so Dr. DeLee was patient and made sure I had the right prescription. He also cares about your overall eye health. Staff is great too especially long time optician Shawn. Would recommend to anyone!

Ordered two pairs of eyeglasses using prescription by Dean Optical. Couldnt see anything through right eye. Turned out prescription was very different from previous years. Went back to Dean Optical and doctor gave me new prescription, similar to the old ones. I have lost time and money. Be careful when you go there, and double check your prescription.

I have been a patient of Dr. Dennis DeLee for many years. He is a consummate professional, conscientious and thorough when it comes to treating his patients. I always feel comfortable when I have my yearly eye check-ups. His staff is likewise professional, caring and responsible. I recommend Dean Optical regularly to my colleagues, friends and family. The company provides excellent care and offers many alternatives to eye wear.

This is my go-to place for a vision screening. Thorough exam, great price even if you dont have insurance that covers it (within reason in Chicago loop), the techs are friendly and helpful. Dr Meifert is very competent and full of great relaxed conversation.

Cant seem to get anything right. Had to watch them like a hawk to make sure they billed my insurance accurately. Lacked the ability to understand that I have two plans, 1 for contacts and 1 for glasses through two separate companies. They sent my contacts to a stranger, then gave him my address so he could come by my home, without asking me first!!! Excuse me, but that is not ok. When I explained that a new box needs to be sent from the factory, I got the Well... another week like somehow this was all my fault. Took forever to get seen after I arrived despite doing everything online, showing up on time, and the entire office being empty. They have no bedside manner, from the doc down to the staff. Was laughed at and then told Im really really color blind. Ive asked her to confirm my address and she still gets it wrong despite calling me 2 times today. Wouldnt recommend this shop to anyone.

They were able to order a single pair for me in time.Edit: They said they ordered the pair of contacts for me. In reality they never placed this order and I did not get the contacts in time.Edit #2: Removing another star because I just got a call asking for more money from my appointment a year ago.Edit #3: Adding two stars back. They figured out the billing problem and did not charge me.

Clean and friendly place -Im quite picky, since I have bad astigmatism in both eyes, I seek that extra patience from the Doctors, double and triple check my readings and longer time to adjust to the trials or else, like it actually occurred-I had to go follow up twice for a correction, which I was told It was rare to come twice. I still need to go a third time, but already bought the contacts.Was told to wear my glasses for my preliminary exams, but my glasses were bent, scratch and falling off the whole time they said it be fine. I wouldnt trust those reading, but then again it depends on the actual Doctors, which were friendly, respectful and well educated, but did lack that extra care I need.In that respect this place had just average care, and great customer service and clean place.

I can officially be classified as a senior citizen (69 Yr old) and as a result have had numerous eye exams in several places around the world....The exam at Dean Optical by staff and specifically, Dr. Lance Olson was absolutely splendid, the most comprehensive and in depth eye exam that I have ever had! ...Dr. Olson ranks as a genuine professional and a credit to the optical community and Dean Optical...Thanks for the care, and hope to see you again for an annual checkup!

Had a tiny piece of rust shot into my eye from a passing cab. Dr. Olson found it right away and retracted it painlessly. I was so relieved, highly recommend.

Dr. Dennis DeLee has been assisting all of our family members for over 30 years. He is amazing. He is current on all research, and has diagnosed difficult eye related issues for our family members, and his personality is friendly and reassuring when needed. We have followed him throughout the years, and recommend him to anyone. He is SUPERB.

The location is close to my office and both the Optometrist and Optician were great. The exam was very thorough and the fit on my new glasses is the best Ive ever had. They also have very convenient hours.

I had an eye emergency unlike anything I have previously experienced. A sharp never-ending scratching pain in my right eye that would flare up with each blink. After 2 hours of flushing, and examining my own eye I decided I needed to see an eye doc immediately. Conveniently located in the Rookery, I ventured on in to Dean Optical and was in the eye examination chair almost immediately. The doc examined, added a dye for his machine to work properly, and BAM! He pulled a piece of metal out of my eye lid that was doing the damage. What a wonderful experience. These guys should be your go to for eye exams and emergencies alike. Great experience.

Dean Optical is close to the perfect experience you can have in this business. They are accurate, fast and their customer service is such that I can not possibly imagine how it could be improved.The prices of their frames and lenses are probably a little above the less-known stores in the outskirts, but their customer service is so outstanding that you are much better off getting your glasses here than anywhere else.I am unfortunately not as kind to my glasses as I should be, and i cracked my frame *twice* I had the fortune of being assisted twice by them in repairing the frames, absolutely free of charge. If I served myself elsewhere, it would have costed me a lot more.Also, the vision measurement instruments they have on the premises is absolutely 22th century.I recommend them wholeheartedly and without reservations.

This place is AWESOME, top notch service. Price point on the product can be a little steep, but the service out weighs it. You are truly in the CUSTOMER SATISFACTION business and not just customer service.

State of the art exam equipment, great staff, and a diverse selection of frames. And when there is a frame that I am interested in, but they dont stock, they have no problem ordering it for me. I have Rx fashion frames, Rx safety glasses, Rx cycling glasses, and plano sunglasses. And RGP contact lenses! Plus convenient adjustments whenever I need them. Yes, it takes more than an hour to get my glasses, but theyre worth it. Plus my insurance is hassle-free!

Very friendly staff, easy to work with my companys vision insurance, found me a great pair of glasses that I could afford, and even received the new pair within 24 hours.

The doctor himself was extremely personable and friendly, however the rest of the visit and follow up contact orders have been terrible-at best. The receptionists are always hard to speak with and express quite a bit of attitude and its taken over two weeks for my contact order to be filled. When I inquired why its taken so long, they responded that my voicemail was full even though I never even recieved the call. After picking up my prescription I will be taking my business elswhere. If only the doctor would hire people as friendly as him.

Terrible customer service. Doctor tries to sell unnecessary tests and procedures. Never got a call when my contacts came in, so I had to call to ask if they had come in yet. Second set of contacts I ordered they returned without calling to tell me, so when I came in to pick them up (when I was on my last pair) I was screwed. Now I have to book an appointment for a new eye exam, wait to have the exam, order new contacts, and wait for those to come in.
