I had breakfast here twice this week. I loved the bagel with tomato and cucumber and onion. They were slightly marinated in a vinaigrette which was so tasty. Good coffee. I also bought such a cute decorated cookie for a coworker. Such a lovely place. The bakery items are so cute and I’d love to try their cakes in the future.
Food is so delicious, fresh, and healthy. I often go there for lunch and get great customer service. Katy was very helpful. Although her colleague was brief and dismissive to my colleague, telling us to go to the front and ask for a to-go box, Katy took the initiative by going to the front and grabbing one for us. Katy handled the request properly and most hospitably. No customer wants to leave their food unattended to get a to-go box. Way-to-go Katy for doing your job well!
Great small place with salads, sandwiches, baked goods, coffee, and other drinks. Food excellent, fresh, homemade with interesting ingredients. Only negative is it can get crowded and can be hard to find seats to dine in. Thats because its so darn good...update..there is bigger location on East Grand with larger seating areas!! Nice
Stayed in Chicago for 4 days and every morning started with a trip to this cafe/bakery. I loved everything that I tried here. Vietnamese cold brew was the best. Other recommendations: Wildflower honey latte, banana walnut cake and garden goddess wrap.P.S. Im a vegetarian
Very good selection of breakfast, dessert, coffee/tea and salad/sandwich. I like their scones (berries, turtle dip) and brownie, and the coffee is also good. If you like matcha, they also offer good matcha (sweetened or non-sweetened). The interior design is great - sitting next to the window is one of my favorite spot to watch the metro going by. Recommend this coffee shop!
The menu looked so awesome and fifnt know what to try. I finally decided chicken club with chips and the cashier suggested a passion lemonade drink and OMG is was not only absolutely beautiful to look at, but tasted jus as good. It definitely started y day off right. I ate out side in the area they had and just loved watching a cook crisp Chicago day get started. Good food, perfect seat, delightful morning. Highly recommend this place if your a first time Chicago visitor like me 😉😉
Rainbow cake, chocolate, coffee, oh my! The cake is amazing and has glitter on it! The latte flavors are unique and they use Monin syrups. You can buy cool Merch here as well. The location is wonderful, right near the heart of downtown and you can walk to so many attractions. If you are a vegetarian, you can find something great to eat such a a Mediterranean bowl or scramble. The sandwiches are fresh and made to order with wonderful croissants!
This place took our orders even though they were just about to close after a long and very busy day serving Chicago Marathon runners and spectators. Very grateful to them for this... And our server was friendly and absolutely gorgeous, to boot! 😉
Enjoyed the cafe vibe! Tried the maple sage latte and it was amazing!
Outdoor seating is nice, and their baked treats and lunch items are amazing! Their coffee drinks are very delicious, and never too sweet or too bitter. The only issue is that their service and food is so good that the place gets pretty crowded at their busy times.
Great food, but overpriced, probably due to it being a great location. Cant go wrong with the food though! Baked goods are top notch as well. Friendly staff.
Best fresh yogurt with fruit and honey I have ever had! My son had a chicken sandwich he said was awesome! Cold brewed coffe was also very good. Polite and organized service and they kept the line moving. Great atmosphere. Worth the short wait.
Breakfast here was delicious! I had the chicken and waffle, so good. Chicken was nice and crispy, yum!Seating inside is kind of tight but service is quick.
Might be a bit of a wait, but highly recommend! Friendly staff and delicious food. Great vibe as well.
Very nice, busy, hip vibe. A bit pricey and a bit chaotic. Food items and coffee items handled independently by different staff without much coordination by waitstaff, so our sandwiches literally came out a full half hour before our coffee drinks. Some staff are experienced, others were new and a bit shell-shocked it seemed (it was busy, so trial-by-fire). All of them were very nice. Again, the big drawback is the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing. As a restaurant manager myself, I was surprised that some obvious kinks arent worked out. Food and coffee are good, but not stellar. I love the location and the rumble of the El going by--very Chicago experience.
Delightful little coffee and bakery stop. Sat on the patio in front and watched people and trains pass by. I had a lovely cookie and iced tea on a hot day. Wait staff was efficient, but not necessarily friendly.
The Vietnamese cold brew was amazing. Very rich and smooth flavor. They had gluten free and vegetarian options too.
You can totally skip the line and just sit and order from their app. That was a lifesaver and time-saver. Thank you for the great breakfast 😀
Such a cute place in the city! They have such tasty dishes and unique coffees!
A bit of a hype amongst some of the people I know back in Toronto. Told me if I ever visit Chi town I gotta go to Goddess and the Baker. Great and delicious experience. Client service was great and friendly. Although a bit on the expensive side, but I dont blame that because the food and beverages were well worth the $$. I tried the avocado toast with extra egg and smoked salmon. Muy delicious. And the wildflower honey latte (had to order another one (to-go). Great experience and if youre a creative bug like myself, theres good attention to detail looking around the restaurant; from their shelves, decor, typography in the menu and choice of cups they serve your beverages in. I hardly do a 5/5 but this one was well worth it.
Delicious spot to grab brunch. Huge pastry selection and great ambience!
The place is really nice, everything looks delicious, customer service is great!I tried the rainbow cake, which -in my own opinion- was very plain and the frosting way too sweet.I also tried the carrot cake, it was delicious and moist.I tried the Mayan mocha, It was SO GOOD! Perfect balance of sweetness and spiciness.Would definitely visit again for more of that coffee if I’m ever in town!
Nice little busy spot with delicious food
Such a cute place. Great service and good vibe/food. Highly recommend!
Great food, friendly service and vegan and gluten-free options (but get there early!) - limited indoor and outdoor seating, as well as pickup to go. Ordering and checkout lines are still a bit of a mess, but youll get used to it...
Unique place for tasty sandwiches and fancy pastries. Upbeat and courteous servers. The very artistic latte with gold glitter sprinkles was delish, plus it can make an impressive lip gloss.
Amazing breakfast/brunch spot in downtown Chicago. Delicious menu and drinks with cozy seating indoor and outdoor.
This seemed like a good quick breakfast place downtown-my husband and I both got acai bowls and a drink each. The experience was quite chaotic, and very confusing. Seem to not really be set up for take-out. We took it back to our hotel and while the drinks were very good, we both agreed the acai bowl tasted odd, almost chemical-y. Not good at all. And for the two drinks and a bad acai bowl it was over $40...which hurt a little considering how disappointed we were with the main part of our breakfast.
Fun designs on their sweets and a huge selection! But their staff seem uncoordinated. The cashier gave us a bag which the woman giving us our sweets then needed from us; and the cashier forgot to add on multiple items which we then had to pay for separately, twice. So 3 total purchases. Some of the cookies (like the chocolate chip) are rock hard and tasteless while some (the funfetti) are soft and yummy. The cake was very moist and fluffy but lacked flavor, which I kind of liked because it wasnt overwhelmingly sweet.
I had the iced chai latte, and my girlfriend got a special, Nutella cold brew. We split the bagel smear. The bagel was fresh, dense and had a great bite to it, but it was under-toasted for our taste. They had fresh toppings that had an awesome dressing of some sort. We noticed that the chai tea was more flavorful than others Ive bought. If Im ever in Chicago I could see myself coming here again. Cool and patient staff as well.
The latte was good, the ambience was cute, the cashier was sweet and so helpful with explaining certain unknown products to me, however, the dark haired girl who tried getting my attention through the window and then proceeded to bang on the window to let me know my latte was ready.. then had an attitude when I came in and just pointed. I get if youre busy, BUT literally not even 5 minutes later another girl comes out with coffee on a tray for another couple.. why couldnt someone have just come out and said, maam your coffee is ready? It was so rude and so off-putting. Not to mention the food was NOT at all that appetizing. I had the turkey bacon and egg sandwich and my husband had the morning sandwich. We both agreed it tasted like gas station food. We should have gone to Starbucks to get our drinks and got a sandwich from there. Oh well it was an experience, unfortunately not Im willing to experience again. Especially not for the money I spent!
Just steps from the Palmer House Hotel. Loved the atmosphere. Beautiful baked goods. Wonderful customer service. I had breakfast that was delivered to the table in good time and with beautiful presentation. I also got some pastries to go. Great service and amazing food. Considering moving to Chicago so I can have breakfast here every day.
Accidentally run into this spot and will permanently return. Great little shop to grab coffee and food before heading out. 👍
Very tasty food for a decent price (around $10-$12 for a sandwich or salad, about $4-$5 for a prepared coffee) but the quality is really good (way better than Starbucks). Even better that their food is their customer service, really friendly people. The place gets really busy so sometimes it might be hard to seat if you go during the rush hour.
I’d recommend this place for good coffee and vibes. I had an ice vanilla latte, almond cake and chocolate chip cookie. They were excellent. Definitely not your place to study or get work done but I don’t think they market themselves as such.Pros:Quick serviceGreat coffeeGreat sweetsCute interiorNice staffCons:The train makes it very hard to have a convo outsideIt’s hard to get seatingAlso loud indoors
This is the place for excellent food, drinks, coffee, and more! Everything I have ever had here has always been excellent and staff always are lovely and care about all their customers. The atmosphere is great and really cute and always has good vibes. I would absolutely recommend this place to everyone!
I have seen this place quite a bit of times but never went inside. I finally did. My initial response as I walked it was wow, I like the vibe of this place. Its bustling with a lot of movement happening, people of all ages visited while I was there and it really has that lift-me up vibe which I like. If you are having a rough day, I think walking in here will pep you up. So thumbs up for the atmosphere. Though Goddess offers a variety of food options for breakfast, lunch and early dinner; we only stopped in for coffee since it was late afternoon. Sad to say that the coffee was just average, nothing special in terms of coffee flavor but their variety of options is awesome. I did not like the Vietnamese iced coffee I ordered because its consistency was extremely thin and it felt like they made it with cold brew instead of French press as it is traditionally made. The Latte was okay - plain and simple. I didnt enjoy my iced coffee so I ordered a hot mocha and that was decent, comparatively.People around me where ordering so many bakery items and food, not going to lie but it looked really good.I think I would visit Goddess and the Baker again and try different menu items just to be sure before I make up my mind completely. The service is good and simple which I appreciate. I am going with a 4 because it really is that kind of place that will make your day better.
Mint cream lemonade is a must try. Bakery and breakfast items are also delicious.
This is a nice place when you need good coffee with a great almond croissant (or other bakery item). Conveniently located in the heart of the Loop.
Right across the street from our hotel we came here everyday. My bf loves their coffee. They also have fresh juice, breakfast sandwiches, and baked goods. Their baked goods looked awesome! We got the breakfast sandwich every day. The one with ham and or bacon is good. Packed in the morning. Outdoor seating available, pretty cool hip place.
Generous portions and delicious food! we went for breakfast one sunday morning and it was packed! the service was good, they messed up my order but fixed it immediately. our coffee was also late but they gave us two coffee cards to use on our next order to make up for it. despite all the mishaps, we enjoyed our breakfast and that’s what matters! we will be back.
Good vibes only. Delicious matcha drink for me and a sweet treat for my little dude
The Morning Sandwich took a long time to make, and looked like it was made by a 12 year old. It had soggy bacon and was not tasty. The nitro cold brew coffee was very acidic and bitter. Black nitro cold brew coffee should taste like chocolate milk. All in all, an overpriced, underwhelming experience.
Yum yum yum. Go here!
The worker at the register was able to awnser most of my questions on the menu. I ordered the glitter gold latte, it was very pretty to take a picture of, but it didnt taste good. My moms apple butter oat latte tasted much better, but it did have a gritty texture at the end of apple peelings and cinnamon twigs. I got 2 chocolate truffles, peach and chocolate covered strawberry and they were both good. I also got 1 mango macaroon, which was also good. My mom got the almond croissant and she was very happy with it.
A super cute spot for pastries and baked goods, light food, coffee and cocktails. The whole spot is wheelchair accessible and the bathrooms are gender inclusive as well. Conveniently located to Michigan Avenue shopping, its a great spot for running in and out of or stopping to stay for a meal.
Me and my husband recently visited Goddess and the Baker, totally loved the ambience and cozy atmosphere the place had to offer. We ordered cappuccino, Avocado toast and a slice of rainbow cake. Loved all three. Coffee was rich and full of flavor, toast was well made. Cake was a bit on the sweeter side for me, but overall liked the whole experience.
Great ambiance. Goddess and the baker was recommended to me by a local and they were not kidding. Their egg and bacon sandwich was amazing, I cant recall the name of it, but I ordered it twice and 3 days. The shot of chocolate with whipped cream is a decadent little dessert as well. Service was was friendly.
The food like great, but I can at least vouch for the cold brew coffee which was great. Trends to have lives of people out the door, so it must be great
Cute coffee shop. Drinks were pretty good and would be a great place for a few pics.
Passed by yesterday got my attention with aesthetics looks can be very deceiving.. Aesthetically place was cozy and well designed. Saw beautiful sweet treats and pastries which I had craving for that certain day.. Service wasn’t the best staff needs to pay more attention and actives listening to customer’s needs. It’s overrated pastry/coffee place the cupcakes are too much and too sweet for me almost $5 a piece and vegan cupcake was ok. Another inconvenient side of this shop is it’s cashless pay basis so no cash means no service. I don’t get it as I was to pay cash and got pointed to a sign “cashless” and i have to go in my backpack and get my card.. I’m not confident in recommending the place. Cupcakes have an after taste after keeping it in fridge overnight..
Another great spot. Was here on vacay and found this gem near the hotel. Awesome atmosphere, staff and food.
Delicious breakfast and a wide assortment of coffees, including cold brew on tap. The huevos rancheros tostadas were great!
Good coffee, kind of crowded, outdoor seating.
I loved it when I stumbled across it a few years ago and love it still after a recent visit. Vibrant space, super friendly staff, fresh colorful, generously portioned food. The vietnamese salad was amazing and the six layer rainbow cake delicious without being dense.
What a bummer...was looking forward to trying. Ordered an avocado salad... theyre out of avocado. Ok fine, please give me a price adjustment since my avocado salad will not have avocado...no can do. Very unapologetic cashier.
Really cute. Friendly staff. Pricey but otherwise a great experience. Seltzer water on tap was a nice touch.
If I could give this restaurant more than 5 stars, I would. This place is incredible. Servers are friendly, place is clean, and the pastries are to die for. I came here 4 times over a 4 day trip. The liquid chocolate is creamy and sweet. The smores frappe was delicious, as was the almond joy frappe. My cranberry scone was served warm. They let you hang out all day as long as you buy something. Wonderful place.
Took my wife here for her Birthday dessert. The customer service was great. They were patient in answering all her questions about their yummy desserts. Cant wait to back.
Great atmosphere, delicious food, and caffeinated coffee. Well be back for sure!
Awesome desserts and cappuccino. Good selection of salads, sandwiches etc. Trendy, hip place for lunch or dessert.Friendly staff, clean facility!
Everyone needs to experience this delightful shop. The baked goods were 5 star! The energy of the staff was so inviting. Best stop on our weekend trip in Chicago.
Pro Tip....when staying at The Palmer House....get your coffee here.99% locals and the lone tourist...meGreat coffee and baked goodsFriendly staff and ample seating.
Great drinks, fast service and it was busy today . The muffins were big and really good ! I’m excited to go back to try other things
Good food, I ordered the Huevos Rancheros, Tomato Bisque and Iced Mocha. All were great, probably Mocha best and Bisque last (but still good). Chicago seems a little quiet on a Friday morning, but things should be picking up once Lolla comes around next week.
Amazing place. I visited Chicago and came here every day! Creative coffee drinks and great food!
