I never considered myself a coffee person until I was told about Cafe Jumping Bean. I highly recommend the Thai iced coffee and focaccia pizza; you won’t regret it! I make it a point to stop by almost every week and pick up that combo specifically. To top it all off, it’s always nice seeing the new artwork on the walls while you wait!

Not a coffee fan so my review is strictly reviewing the aesthetic and the desserts. Both are great. This is the kind of spot that you find being the location of a independent film where boy meets girl who is the waitress and they fall in love, some tragedy occurs, but in the end it doesnt matter because they still have each other ha!

An amazing community cafe with great coffee and food. They get it right every time and create a wonderful atmosphere, centering Chicago and Pilsen artists and ingredients. The employees are kind and patient- they have become a central part of our daily lives. We LOVE Cafe Jumping Bean and so do our guests- it is a destination every time somebody comes into town. Can’t go wrong with anything there but highly recommend the veggie sandwich.

My favorite spot for great coffee in Chicago!! Is not only good in coffee making matters but the place and the team are totally aware and involved in the community as well as in trying to honor the Mexican roots of the place and, of course, the neighborhood. The coffee is good--my fave is the Thai coffee! The molletes are my fave because they can be veganized--just ask for no cheese and add avocado. What really makes Jumping Bean stand out, though, is the staff. Theyre genuinely nice people who seem to be on a first name basis with all the neighborhood locals. Also, they support local artists which speaks to my soul! Go give them your dollars and keep the big chains out of El Barrio!

Super great local business! I got a chai and a snack and it got me hooked. As a Indian Im always trying to find any place that can replicate the Chai from my childhood. This place is the closest Ive gotten outside of Devon and Ive tried a lot (!) of places. They also have a lot of other drinks including tradition Mexican chocolate and sodas. I want able to try any of their sandwiches but they give a huge portion of food along with either chips or pasta side.As for the atmosphere, I love it. Its clear that this place has had loved poured into it. The walls are covered with local stickers and newspapers. The tables are covered in art and is so welcoming (especially with the stained glass). This is just a place where the environment is so friendly and ~good vibes only~ as soon as you walk in.Only downside is that they have a interesting wifi schedule (cant get it on weekend or lunch hours?). I do understand this to an extent because the place is more on the cramped side and people cant linger for too long. Also not too many outlets but the music is perfection.Definitely will be returning again for more Chai & a black bean burger.

Cozy place for a drink or two. Tables are funny since they resemble the country side of Mexico (funny how whats consider Naco in México is trendy/cool here in Chicago). Chocolate is sweet. Super cute place - some simple breakfast staples and great coffee and lattes. Way more ambiance than a Starbucks! So happy this neighborhood has its own local coffee shop that reflects the community and people who live there! Pretty diverse crowd - seemed like mostly locals. I liked the volume level too in that my husband and I could easily talk to each other and enjoy our breakfast and the cool art on the walls. Great place!

I love this coffee shop! The only downfall I can say is that every time I want to order the frozen coffee with caramel, they say they can’t do that. But I used to always always come in here and get that same order. I’m not sure if they don’t like to make it or what but what have it on the menu if you don’t make it. Please consider this!

This café has been here for a very long time. I recently went to meet a friend for coffee and I’m so glad we did. It’s been forever. Went in to buy a sandwich and some pastries, but as I was told that there were no more pastries for purchase since they went bad, I noticed the workers putting them in their pocket. Im a little concerned and confused that you are eating bad desserts instead of throwing them away. Sandwiches were good though. Would have loved a scone though.

This would be my favorite coffee shop in the city if it werent already so well-loved- it can be hard to find a seat sometimes. But its worth it when you can.The coffee is good. If you order the bottomless cup with cream they give you a little saucer with real, cold dairy to add while sitting. This is a simple touch, but well-appreciated. They do iced coffee very well also. The environment is bright and cheerful, with some interesting art work on display. I especially appreciate the customer service. The young employees manage to be very courteous while also keeping things moving quickly.

Café Jumping Bean is a small business whose owners have created a cafe that honors Pilsens rich history while also celebrating the barrios incoming evolution of hipsters and young, urban professionals. The menu at Café Jumping Bean was thoughtfully designed to appeal to the polar opposite, yet intertwined cultures, tastes and lifestyles of the locals. Call it what you want...café con leche with a concha or cappuccino with a croissant...they have it. To each his (or her) own!The prices at Café Jumping Bean are affordable. I was excited to see that they were offering goods of comparable quality to that of Starbucks, at a fraction of the prices charged by many corporate coffee house chains. On this particular visit, my clients, Pastor Nelson & Principal Irma of NewLife Christian School (NLCS), and I made this our pitstop for coffee & dessert after lunch at a nearby location. As we left, I couldnt help but notice how the time had flown as we enjoyed the ambient life in the room that led to a productive meeting & time of fellowship. In the end, the Bean is a quaint and charming, street corner cove that most of us, including budget-minded students, can afford to visit a bit more regularly than the next place. The complimentary WiFi, eclectic energy of the atmosphere and accessibility to binge portions of caffeine and sweets lends itself to endless reading, creative writing and thought-provoking conversation. Consider Café Jumping Bean next time you too need some time away to think outside of the box.For the love of food, wine & service,Antonio Quintana (@AntonioQ312)@IgniteHospitalityChicago- - - - -FREELANCE HOSPITALITY SUPPORT:Social Media Campaigns | Digital Marketing | Online Guest Review Correspondence | On-Site F&B Service, Training & Management | Event Planning, Staffing & Execution#AntonioQ312 #LocalGuides #OnGoogleMaps#IgniteHospitalityChicago
