My girlfriend and I were looking for a good spot for lunch, and the Blue Door was perfect. We each got a sandwich/salad combo. It was was the perfect amount of food. The price was affordable and the service was great too. It was quite busy during lunch on Friday, but we were able to get a table rather quickly. I will definitely return for brunch/lunch in the future!

The food was very good, the service not so much. We had to ask repeatedly for items from our server but other servers were willing to help and was very polite. We ordered the Cobb salad, green tea, coffee, two pancakes, carrot cake and the Ava omelette for $76.00. The atmosphere was very clean and welcoming. We would go back again.

I always wanted to go to this place.They were very accommodating and was able to take us prior to our reservation very quaint spot service was good recommend the Crab cakes.

Amazing place for a light weekday lunch! Their sandwiches are extremely yummy. Special shout out to the arugula and fig one! Make sure you don’t miss out on their (gigantic slice of) carrot cake!

Stopped by for a quick lunch on a Tuesday afternoon for the first time, and the Blue Door Farm Stand did not disappoint. Got checked in fairly quickly and ticket time was short. Food was delicious. Two gentlemen were attentive and did not let my water and iced tea run dry.

I always knew this place was popular and now I understand why! Ordered the omelet and the diner breakfast and both were great. Interior is cute and service was good.

Solid 5 stars! A big thank you to the barista - whose name I didnt catch. She must have caught on that we were having a rough day and made us Americanos piping hot on the house. They were delicious and absolutely made my week! Made up for our bad day ten times over! Halloween is dedicated to this lady, bless you, may karma bring you all the treats in the world!!!

It was tasty! I got the farm burger which I liked. The fries were good! My friend got the grilled cheese and tomato soup which enjoyed. They got the sweet potato fries which came with an amazing honey mustard sauce. I read about the kale and Brussel salad in an article online saying this was one of the best salads in Chicago; so I had to try it! It was really good!!! Cute atmosphere inside. Only did take out; but I saw they were taking temperatures for whoever dined in so before careful Covid havers!

They excel at making a simple menu shine. Large portions for a nicer place, and the locally sourced ingredients are able to shine in straightforward dishes. If the weather is nice try and get a table near the open front windows and sip on a cocktail while people watching before you order.

Fabulous dining! Local seasonal menu. Everything was beautifully presented and delicious. Even free samples of squash soup. The desserts were amazing and large enough we had a carrot cake home . 4 of us couldnt finish.

Stopped in for an iced coffee with kahlua which was fantastic. Staff is very friendly, really neat interior, if I wasnt eating dinner somewhere else I would have stayed!!

If I was going for the atmosphere, I would give them 5 stars. It’s a beautiful place to dine but the lunch was average. I was expecting their kitchen to bring more flavor and individuality to their plates for the price.

Great restaurant. Had the cheese curds and salad for lunch, both were excellent. Also hands down may have the best water, it’s cold and refreshing. Its not the type of water that makes you thirstier it actually quenches your thirst, the best.

Pretty unhappy with this one. It took an hour for us to get our meal (2 of us), nothing special just an omelette and breakfast sandwich. When I got it I thought are you kidding? My omelette was $17 (on the menu, just bacon spinach) and it came with ZERO things on the side. For $17 I didnt even get a funky piece of toast or potatoes! And you might be thinking it was mega sized but no, it was sized for one sitting. I know its the city and costs more but this was stupid. My bill for 1 drink and this omelette without anything was $34 plus tax and tip. I dont mind paying that when its unique or epic, this was not that. The only reason it got 2 stars instead of 1 was the yummy fizz cocktail I got and the atmosphere is very pretty. Would not go back.

Im confused as to why this restaurant is so highly rated. A friend and I came here after I had wanted to try this place for a while. I ordered the bell pepper and bacon Benedict. This is a flat out bad dish. It was simple sauteed onions and peppers with a meh hollandaise and undercooked eggs and soggy sourdough. I asked for extra hollandaise for more flavor which didnt work. We shared a cup of tomato cream soup - that was alright. My friend ordered the ava omelette, also alright but a sad order given the price. The service was standard. Our needs were addressed and food came out in good time. Definitely not very friendly. I did not know my servers name. Maybe we chose poorly but even then why are these items on the menu... The interior and plates are very cute and charming. Thats the most redeeming quality.

Our dinner at Blue Door Farm Stand was excellent on so many levels. Our food was delicious as was the service. The ambiance was perfect.. very relaxed and tastefully decorated. It checked all the boxes for our evening out tonight!

I only had a beer and cookie, but the beer and cookie were both very good. In addition, the bartender was awesome and had a good back story. Like Arnold said, I will be back!

Came to Blue Door on Monday for some early dinner after wedding dress shopping! The place was empty at about 4:30/5:00..but was pretty filled by the time we left.We sat by the windows and I love the atmosphere of this place! 😍The real winner is the food though!! I wish I took more pics of the food but it was so yummy and fresh!Sometimes Farm to table restaurants can give you small portions but the portions for each were perfect. I had the Kale salad with bacon 😍😍😍😋😋😋 sooo yummy!!Really good food & service, quality spot for lunch or dinner!

First time here and I am thoroughly impressed by the ambiance, food, and staff. We came here for brunch on a week day early afternoon and there was no wait. I thought we would be seated on the first level and the hostess took us upstairs, I didn’t even think there was an upstairs. It was a pleasant surprise because it was lit by natural light due to their sun roofs and large windows. Ask to sit upstairs if it’s possible. I decided on the diner breakfast and my parter got the veggie burger. The food came prompt and the staff was very attentive and friendly. The food was tasty and hit the right spot. I would definitely recommend this place if you are in the area!

Everything was delicious and I love that they focus on seasonal offerings. I think we met the owner and he was wonderful. I highly recommend.

My husband and I went for my birthday and we absolutely loved our experience. The atmosphere was wonderful, we especially loved the quiet jazz music in the background. Our food was delicious and the service was attentive and incredibly kind.

I loved my brunch here! The atmosphere is absolutely charming and beautiful, and great staff as well. We got the corned beef hash and the bell pepper and bacon Benedict. The presentation of the food may not have been the best, but the food was good!

I ordered carrot cake and late. The coffee wasn’t that good, but the cake is so good and big and little bit sweetie. I like the atmosphere. They take our temperature before we inter they open the windows so the air come In and out with social distancing tables.

Went to Blue Door with my dad who was in town for work on a week night. I should’ve checked out the menu before coming because it was pretty limited and didn’t have a ton of options that I would consider dinner. He got the salmon and I got the burger. Wasn’t super impressed, but I know people swear by their lunch/brunch! Hoping my next visit will be better.

Delightful eatery with tasty dishes. Brunch was a la carte, so toast and fruit must be ordered separately. Menu is a bit pricier than other options in the neighborhood, but its worth it. Service was friendly and good. Upstairs is brighter with sun streaming in. They source their ingredients locally for the most part, and they have their own farm in Indiana.

Delightful food and service. However, when they tell you the carrot cake is really, really, big - Believe them!

Id come here weekly. The food is healthy, fresh & delicious. For lunch I recommend the fig havrati sandwich with a glass of prosecco ;) The manager, Michael was hospitalable and helpful. David was our server, whom was pleasant.

Ive ordered delivery from here before, but this was my first time dining in. As usual, the food was delicious. I had the brussel and kale salad and the AVA. The salad was perfectly dressed, flavorful, and filling. The sandwich was perfectly crispy and balanced.

My family and I went to brunch Saturday for Mother’s Day! The food and service was incredible.I happened to cut my hand after I broke a Mimosa glass. My family and I were so impressed with the response and care! They got me some water, sanitized my cut and bandaged it up. I was a bit shaky and another women got me sugar water. They really made the stressful situation much easier!They are a great team, and we will for sure be back!

Egg wrap was flavourless, under seasoned and ordinary. Omelette was something we could have made at home ourselves. Sandwiches were ok. Service was attentive but too rushed. Key lime pie had a good crust but not enough key lime. Wish we had spent our $100 elsewhere.

Theres nothing wrong with the food or ambiance at Blue Door, just the service. My chicken sliders were delicious and fresh tasting, although they would have tasted better with a side dipping sauce, like honey Dijon mustard. Also, they were a little on the pricey side, $15.00 for 3 miniature sized portions which I thought was too much to be charging since they didnt come with anything. The only thing I didnt like was that my server wasnt available most of the time and did his best to ignore my table. The only saving grace was his backup, who did the majority of the work, so in the end I gave him the tip instead.

This friendly, beautiful place has a country farmhouse feel, and a focus on the vegetables sides. There is lots of seating, and the night we were there the upstairs was almost empty. We were in and out relatively quickly, and the atmosphere is relaxed. Kale salad, smashbuger, and hummus appetizer were all great.

Such a cute, quaint restaurant with great food. I like the fact that you can get breakfast items all day. Also the grilled cheese with tomato soup is really good! They have indoor seating and during the summer, the doors fully open for almost outdoor seating. Service is friendly and efficient. Id recommend this place!

We had really great service here. Came in at the very end of the night so the kitchen was closed but we were only there for drinks anyways. We didnt feel rushed at all and the manager that night, Allison, was very attentive and kind, as well as our server! Well definitely be going back.

I cant wait to go back.My boyfriend and I stopped by late for a little snack and just hoped the kitchen was still open. Their menu looked so good that we ended up ordering more than a snack.We had the shrimp & scallop ceviche and the tomato & cream soup for appetizers. Both were fantastic. The scallops in the ceviche were so tender and not overly acidic. It was really well balanced. The tomato & cream soup was beautifully presented in a pretty blue cup.The Seared Tuna was much heartier than I expected the plate to be at just $19. They didnt skimp on the tuna, but also there were huge handfuls of peas, beans, greens, olives, and good stuff to accompany it.Im not usually much of a lamb fan, but thats what my boyfriend ordered. The Lamb T-bone was excellent. It must have been the strawberry glaze. I politely tried the bite my boyfriend offered. Then, I asked him for two more :)We couldnt finish our meals, so we passed on the dessert offerings.The service was perfect. Our server even ran into the street to catch us when my boyfriend left his phone at the table.

Cute and lovely place with ample space for large group as well. Love the Burleigh pottery/plates, and the lentil vegetable soup, french tuna salad sandwich, ava sandwich was all very tasty and satisfying.

I ordered a combination meal that included a half sandwich and a half salad. The half sandwich portion was as expected, and the half salad was very generous! I loved everything about my visit to blue door farm stand - the ambience, decor and the food!

First I will say the wait staff is sensational. Attentive, thoughtful. Maybe I ordered wrong and should have gotten something else. I got the veggie burger. It wasnt warm when I got it and there was not much taste to it. The spicy aoli sauce was outstanding. The salad was too oily and not spiced enough for me. The double chocolate brownie delivered on being double chocolate. It was a little bit dry. The iced tea was a 10! I love the physical space.

I honestly do not know why this place is so highly rated. The one star is for the ambiance. It took over 5 minutes for a hostess to bring us to our table and even longer before we were greeted by a server to take our order. The service was brutal and everyone around us was talking about it. A group next to us likened the restaurant to an episode of Gordon Ramsey’s “Kitchen Nightmares”. The couple next to us said that the service was below the basic level of service you would and should expect at a nice restaurant. Beyond the service, the food was subpar. Somehow the tomato soup was sour and lukewarm. The burger had a soggy bun. I ordered the bell pepper and bacon eggs Benedict and 60% of my meal was tasteless and inedible (pictured below). I do not recommend this place at all. They should highly consider hiring more or better front of house staff.

Great ambience and they open the windows in the summer! The entire menu looked fresh and unique. I loved my sandwich. I usually dont like kale but the chips covered with Parmesan were delicious as a side.

The food was fabulous and employees were very attentive. Lots of space between tables complying with the pandemic regulations so go and enjoy a great meal!

Food is typically good. Online says curbside pick-up but they require you to come into restaurant to get your food. This is fine, but don’t state that you offer curbside pickup. Covid sucks.

Good was okay but over priced. Had to wait for service to make the initial order and to get the check.

The server was not attentive and the food was okay.

Quarantine phase 3 review: I walked in as a party of 2 on a Sunday without a reservation and was able to be seated immediately (though the server did tell us that we had an hour until it table was booked for another party). They did a really good job spacing everyone out. Food was on point of course. I had the corn beef hash and it was really delicious. I would definitely go again, and I imagine it will be even better after the Covid restrictions are gone.

The decor is fantastic in my opinion...light, airy, and sunlit...very relaxed vibe. The brunch menu seems a bit limited in my opinion, but I did enjoy the croissant americana sandwich and was told that the purple line wrap was solid. Unfortunately, I didnt have any cocktails that morning, but they are available.

Amazing kale salad, really good fried chicken sliders. But the best dish was the empanadas, and I generally despise empanadas.Don’t be fooled by the single $ categorization however. Entrees range from $22 to $34 and a cocktail is right around $13

The profiteroles are to die for! And the Brussels and kale salad made me like kale for the first time.

A nice, healthy, quick and casual place. A strong emphasis on seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. Friendly staff, open space with high ceilings that receive lots of natural light from the east. Childrens menu with quality offerings; the chicken tenders were very tasty. Definitely worth the visit.

Very cute and pretty! Went for dinner. The food was very good, but just didnt blow me away as much as I wanted it to. The drinks were very good - highly recommend the cucumber/mint cocktail. Eager to try their brunch.

When during restaurant opening in July. Staff were polite and courteous, wearing masks and gloves. Bottled water was offered instead of from a pitcher. I felt safe and comfortable while dining.

Great decor and a nice atmosphere. Prices were surprisingly reasonable given the location and ingredients. Wait staff were very helpful. Be prepared for a trek if you’re driving in. Parking is a bear.Dishes: we had the simple stack of pancakes, kale and sprouts salad, and the chilaquiles. The three pancakes were an 3.5/5 (rather bland), the salad was stunning and delicious (5/5), and the chilaquiles were a poor approximation of the original Mexican dish (3/5). It seemed like the fried corn tortillas were really just fried corn tortilla chips that had been repurposed the next day. The proportions were also off, given the scale of the dish. Overall, the dishes were good but could, with the exception of the salad, be improved.

Just had lunch delivered from here - AMAZING. Going to check them out in person when I can.

It was our first time there last night, me and my girlfriend wanted to have a coffee & dessert date. The place is pretty cute, the girlfriend loved the table spread.Though the service is not so good. Right from when we walked in the host had the most “I don’t want to be here” greeting. She gave bad first impression of the place at first, we shrugged it off. We sat down upstairs (very dim then downstairs). We ordered the blueberry coffee cake & carrot cake. So delicious.We were there almost an hour, the waiter only checked on us once. That was only when we ordered our coffee and desserts. Felt a little ignored. It might have been he was just too busy since he was waiting on the whole floor by himself. Tho I shouldn’t have to try hard to get the waiters attention when wanting the check and giving it back to pay & leave.Honestly we would come back again for real food, the desserts and coffee was so tasty. We would recommend to our friends and family about the place, just give a heads up about the bad service.

Great carrot cake

We ordered a chai latte and americano tonight and the barista made the drinks piping hot- I asked for another cup to insulate because it was too hot and the flimsy cup broke when I was putting it inside the other one. The barista did not apologize, and the chai spilt all over me causing severe burns. No assistance was provided. I would like someone to reach out to reimburse me for our drinks. I was in so much pain and so angry I had to leave.
