We recently had some repair work done on our 2020 Pilot that we got from a different dealership. My service advisor was Milan. The repair work was well done and was finished ahead of schedule. The reason I have such a favorable impression of this service center however was mainly due to Milan. This guy is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I was having a pretty bad day when I dropped of my vehicle and I was struck at how nice and kind this man was to me. Good, professional, timely work is what I expected and what I received. That extra kindness is why I’ll be doing all future service with this dealership, and specifically, Milan. Many thanks.
I had a headlight bulb go out three days before moving out of state, and didn’t have time to fix it myself with all the moving prep I had to do. I called the service center on a Sunday, and was surprised when a rep actually answered and helped me schedule a drop off appointment before my upcoming 10 hour drive.I called the service center when they were open Monday and the person who answered in the department was able to confirm they had a replacement bulb in stock and could do the repair the same day (I know it’s not a difficult repair but given that it was a drop off appointment, I knew they were trying to squeeze me in).The process was easy and everyone I interacted with was very nice and helpful. Yes, it was expensive with labor for a headlight bulb, but I understand I’m paying for labor at a dealership’s service center in downtown Chicago. It was close to my apartment and they fixed my headlight when I was on a time crunch. Definitely a positive experience.
The issue with this dealership is pricing. Out the door price for a new model was quoted $10K higher than MSRP despite being assured that wouldn’t be the case before my test drive. I ended up finding the exact same car (trim, color, everything) for $6K cheaper at another local dealer a week later. A little bit of research and patience can go a long way in saving a nice chunk of change.
Best customer service! Milan was fabulous- I dropped off at 9:45 pm and Milan was there. Opened in the morning and he was there to walk my car through. Checked in first thing with me, then sent a ride for me.Wow!!
Basically had the dealership reach out to me regarding selling my car I did an instant sales offer for through cargurus.. I told the guy I have an offer already at a certain price and he told me to come in and I’ll be given a higher price. When I get to the dealership I find out their department who does this and who I was speaking to was in Miami and pretty much everything mentioned was untrue. Made me an offer several thousand dollars under the instant cash offer from cargurus. Car dealerships will always be one of the most hated institutions in this country. Zero ethics and all lies. Wasted half a day stuck in traffic back and forth. If you have something to sell stay away from Honda of downtown Chicago.Edit: Replying to the dealership: rather than asking me to reach out, have your manager call me. You have my number.
I had a great experience with Honda of Downtown Chicago! I was able to find the car with the color I wanted which is something really hard to do these days due to supply shortage. However, thanks to their inventory and options, that was not a problem. Tracy Holmes was extremely friendly, professional and understanding. The transaction was very smooth and fast. I purchased the car within two days with license plate and stickers all settled and fixed. If you are looking for a Honda and in or nearby the city, you should definitely consider here. Thank you!
My battery went dead and I needed my car for a trip. I was able to contact Honda service and they took me in immediately, with no appointment. They quickly fixed my car and I was on my way. They are so busy at this location, but Eric Whittaker took the time to help me and Im so grateful.
The Downtown Honda Service team always delivers quality customer service and the experience is alway high quality. Fred has helped us for years. Outstanding.
We worked with Lisa Pagan. She was amazing! I came in from out of town to co-sign a lease with my daughter who lives in Chicago. Lisa did a lot of preliminary work up front to help expedite the process once we arrived and made the whole experience easy. Lisa proactively shared info that we needed (but didnt realize) about street parking in Chicago and told us the best place to apply for and get the city sticker. Jonathan (Finance guy) gave us an envelope with all the information we would need to apply for the sticker and fully explained all of the complicated lease info so we could easily make decisions to purchase options that made sense for us. Overall, this was a very good experience and I would recommend Lisa and Jonathan to anyone in need of a new lease.
Awful awful experience. I had remote keys on a 2016 Fit that stopped working after a battery change. I thought they needed to be reprogrammed, which only a Honda dealer can do. Consumer reports says that reprogramming a key should take 15-30 minutes max. I was told it would be a minimum of $200 to even look at the car. When I questioned this price, the service associate (Eric) became macho and belligerent. I took the car to City Tire on 47th street, my usual place for repairs. They figured out in 10 minutes that a fuse had been blown and fixed the keys. No charge. I will never take my car near a dealer to be serviced again.
Quick & excellent service. Plus they offered a discount for the time I came in. Gary was superb!
Milan was my advisor. This was my first time at this location and I felt it was a very professional environment and Milan was extremely pleasant and helpful without being pushy. I will be back.
How many appointments do you think it might take to get some windshield molding fixed. You know, just that strip of rubber that runs along the side of the windshield. One? Maybe two? After the service department told me I had to take more time off of work to come back for a FOURTH TIME, I gave up. The first time I came in for an estimate, they found an expensive problem that needed to be fixed immediately (which Im now doubting the sincerity of), so I had that work done instead. When I made a second appointment to actually get the side molding taken care of, I specifically asked if they had the necessary parts in stock. They assured me over the phone that they did. When I came in for the appointment... you guessed it, the parts were not in stock, and were on back-order, so it would be weeks before I could come in for a third appointment. When I came in for the third appointment, I was told we need a windshield specialist to come in to remove the glass, and we dont do that work here ourselves. First of all, how does a Honda dealership not have the expertise to fix a Honda? Secondly, this meant I would have to make a FOURTH appointment for this one issue. When I said I did not wish to be charged for labor costs above and beyond what I had already paid for parts ($366), they said they couldnt do that. Good riddance. I demanded a refund for the parts (so that I could go somewhere else for this work), and they couldnt even handle that properly- I got bounced around between the service and parts departments. So clearly, I dont recommend going here.
Don’t fall for the jacked up diagnostic fee! Charged me $200 for a basically non-refundable brake diagnostics for a $60 repair at other local repair shops. Fluid flush ( $430 here and $250 at local shops. Getting ahold of service rep was a lost cause. Not worth it at all. Find a good mechanic on Yelp or Google and skip this place.
Very Disappointed in this dealership.Trying to buy a new car this sales lady that had contacted me after introductions and telling her my interest is a new HRV. i gave her a offer from another dealership and asked her if she can match it.she said if its reasonable we can match it so i gave her the quote of the other dealershe then replied a new car wont work, WE are working on a used car nowwhen I asked her whos we???she replied we as in the finance team and i that on my previous visit i needed a co-signer and I am placing $0 down. she was also giving me details that I had told them I was open to buy a pre-owned car then suddenly she was saying that the finance team and her had based it off on my information that I had given them.Funny thing is the last time that I was at this dealer was almost 1 1/2 years ago!!! So all the information they were basing it of from the old one!!! so they just assumed that I am still in the same situation! On top of that they were adding a $6,800 market adjustment. of all the dealers i was getting offers from here in chicago and neighboring cities, they were the only ones that added a market adjustment
You DO NOT need to pay 100’s of dollars to get your car checked out. Tell them no, they will try to take advantage of you. Tell them what you think is wrong and only have them look at that, no further diagnostic tests. They tried to get me to pay 600 in diagnostics.
This was my first visit to Chicago Honda. I am extremely satisfied with Gary Wilson customer service and the company overall operation. They communicated effectively with me about my vehicle and made necessary recommendations. Most importantly, I felt they were honest— and not pushy.I will definitely continue to used their service and recommend this location to others.
I had already done some research on what I wanted before I came to this dealership and I’ve been a Honda owner for over 20 years.Everyone I worked with was very friendly and made sure all my questions were answered. This purchase was made in a terrible buyers market but it was still a great experience. The original sales person told me it would take about 2 weeks to a month to get a car in stock in the color I wanted. He managed to find a better car in a week!! I was very happy with what I got and happy with the overall process.
Had a scheduled 8 AM appointment to replace a flat tire. Indicated both online and at check-in that I would sit and wait for the repair. Guidance was the work would take 1.5 - 2 hours. Ended up taking 4.5 hours to complete the work. No extra work needed; no surprises at inspection. Only put a brand new tire on. Unreal it took that long.
Service department is very professional, knowledgeable and personable. Very busy, so appointment times may not be right away. Parts are usually in stock. VERY expensive but coupons are accepted. Very, very accomodating hours!! Great location! I go to Downtown Honda instead of where I purchased my vehicle.
Darrius was very knowledgeable on what my car needed and was very respectful in my decisions on what services I accepted to do. I got the car back in a couple of hours and there was no hassle whatsoever during my time at the dealership. Overall, it was a very pleasant and efficient experience.
Honda personnel were all very friendly and helpful. They were conscientious about not overcharging me for services. It was overall a very easy and stress free experience. Will definitely use them again
I had a great experience, Gary gave me a very helpful and informational experience. I appreciate this type of top notch customer service! All my questions was answered. Thank you again Honda Team.
The absolute worse service I have ever experienced … they have had my car for an entire week and I have called everyday 2-3 times a day … left multiple messages to no avail … not one person has returned a call yet …. Every time I call they say they are passing the number to a service representative and they will return the call … NOT ONCE … I have never been so disappointed in the level of service received from a supposedly professional establishment… how do you keep my car for seven days for a regular service visit and a power motor to the window and never give me an update and never return my call … this is disgusting and I will never visit or shop at this Honda again.Furthermore they advertise that they offer Lyft service to and from the dealership to drop off and pickup your vehicle for service and in reality it’s very limited … I live 12 miles from the dealership and was ineligible for this service as they only offer a 5 mile ride which wouldn’t get me even halfway home … I very unsatisfied with what this dealership offers in its entirety.Lastly … I still don’t have my car or an update on when it will be ready for pickup … DAY 8
I was treated like a good, and faithful customer and my service attender was kind, mindful and truthful.Hope to gain him as often as possible and keep up your good work ethics, they Matter……
Very customer oriented with a full explanation of work requested and needed on my car.
I have been here before and it’s been fine service. I went to get my oil changed and tires rotated and it took 4 hours. It took over 15 minutes to get seen by a representative, and they didn’t even do all that I asked. I will be looking for other dealerships.
This place is Amazing! Fred and Erik are so great to work with. we have a fleet of cars that get serviced with them and have no had any issues with any repairs and they are always communicating with us with updates. Definitely recommend this dealer to anyone looking for a place to service their car.
This is such an amazing place to take my car! Everyone es super nice and they know what they are doing, Gabriella was so nice and explanatory of everything my car need it! I’ll be back for sure!
They were so helpful and professional. My car was making a loud buzzing sound after hitting a huge pothole.. They got the work done quicker than I expected and my car is driving fine again without that annoying buzzing. Everyone was so helpful. Thank you to the staff. I will definitely be bringing all of my Hondas there forever.
Eric in the service department was great! He got my problem taken care of quickly and efficiently. Pleasant to work with. Highly recommend!
I usually go to the Honda dealership on the NW side of the city, but the appointments they offer have recently been 1+ months out. Doing walk-ins have also been a bust, as I am usually sent back home. Not at this Honda dealership! I am always able to get an appointment within a few days, am always offered a ride home/back, and have had pleasant interactions with all the team members. This is definitely my new go-to for service appointments!
The good:-easy to make an appointment-professional check in-good communication while your car is in serviceThe bad:-while professional and respectful, I have never felt that the service advisors were on my side. They charged me for a service that was covered under warranty and later I had to figure out how to get reimbursed for this on my own (a process that apparently will take months)-they charge a hefty $200 fee to check anything beyond their multi point inspection-a recommendation for new breaks was made for my vehicle and marked as essential and necessary when neither of those things are true. It was simply a bit of rust on the breaks from cold winters and salt.My first experience at a couple of Hyundai dealerships was similar. This is why I believe independent/local mechanics are better than dealers. I just don’t feel like I can fully trust the dealer’s service staff.
Whatever Eric Whittaker is paid, it isnt enough. That guy took care of me like no one I met. He was amazing. he found my phone. He negotiated for payment. He upsold $200 of services. He was a pleasure. I would do whatever he suggested.
Eric was great!! And so was Joel the manager!! Got me in and out really quickly! Super nice super great guys! AMAZING experience! Thank you!!
My service advisor Darrius Dorsey was wonderful. I felt he really cared about me and my car. He communicated with me on my car progress which I really appreciate. My experience with Honda of Downtown was Excellent.
Service was great, specially the service consultants Mr. Darius and Mr. Gary.. They both were professional and courteous. Explained the service requirements etc in deatail. answered my question to my satisfaction.
Been coming here a long time. Quality of the actual service and maintenance is excellent. Customer service has been very bad the last two times. Left car yesterday; told we could get it today. Called at 11:30; were told the service rep would get back to us. Nothing. Called again at 12:30. Nothing. Called again at 3:00. Nothing. Eventually someone figured out that the rep was out today and let us know that the car was ready.
Great experience overall!! From entering the facility to driving away with my new/used car. Lisa Pagan was very helpful with the sales process! She was very friendly and professional. I havent purchased that many cars in my life, but this was probably the smoothest transaction Ive ever experienced. If you are looking for a Honda and in or nearby the city, stop by and check this place out! Ill be coming back when the time comes. Thank you again!!
Every stereotype about sleazy car salesmen rings true here.My 2021 Honda Odyssey started pouring water through the dash onto the passenger floor. After assuring me the repair would be covered under warranty they called back and said it wasnt covered and would cost me $3,700 to fix. They cant even tell why the water was pouring in but they know for sure its not covered by warranty. Then took 45 minutes to get my car when I came to pick it up.Dont buy Honda and dont trust a word these people tell you
I was looking for a place to bring my Honda to and luckily came across this shop in google. Gabriella and her team were professional friendly and I will definitely return. From when I dropped the car off and when I picked it up everyone was attentive. Thanks!👍
Had my Accord in for 60K standard service which was fine. But when I returned home my passenger side window would not roll up. When I called to have it looked at they could not fit me in so now I have to leave my car on the street with the window open all weekend with the potential of rain and people passing by. This is not good service for a short in the electrical system that may be coincidental but most likely is caused by the service they performed. Either way, I’m not happy.
Despite scheduling an appointment, I waited more than 30 mins for a service consultant to ask me why I came in for service. Apparently, the guy who was scheduled to help me was “delayed” by the customer before me. I was also informed that they were “very busy”.The dealership called me earlier that week to invite me to come in for service. I’d rather they called me back that morning to reschedule!I had problems with the car computer just conking out intermittently. They said, we didn’t see anything. Of course it happened as soon as I drove away.I asked if there were any coupons, nothing was offered up front. Overall, I was seriously underwhelmed. Sigh.
Been here numerous times and service has been great. (Not always cheap, but great nonetheless.)Be sure to ask for Gary Wilson when arriving for a service appointment. He’s always extremely courteous and helpful.
Kevin and Thomas were so amazing to work with, they were patient with me since I was an out of state buyer and ended up giving me a better interest rate than when I walked in with private financing. I drove over two hours to look at this certain Honda CR-V I saw on Car Gurus and was a little hesitant since it’s a ways away, but the car was in amazing condition. I ended up walking away with the exact model, mileage, and year I wanted. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the market for a car, new or used!
All of the men that were helping me buy a new car after having my car totalled in an accident were so helpful and patient. Truly great customer service. Didnt feel like I was getting pushed around like you sometimes feel at other dealer ships. They really accommodated what I wanted and needed for the price point I was at! Totally recommend this location if you are looking for a new Honda!
Go somewhere else.Im a college student and less than 2 weeks ago I bought a used car from this place to use for work. It was a decent price and everything went relatively smoothly. 4 days after I had purchased the car I started to hear a sound so I brought it in and explained the issue. They proceeded to charge me an additional $200 to look at the car as well as $1200 for the repairs they needed to make (there was a lot wrong). They also tried to sell additional repair services that they said were necessary which wouldve come out to $3k. They didnt ever acknowledge their problem for selling me this car and didnt offer any form of discount (I did ask). I am extremely disappointed with them and will never be returning here for anything (Ive already found myself a new place to go for any issues). They are some of the most selfish and dishonest people I have ever met despite them appearing as really nice sales people. I regret the fact that I was ever willing to trust them.
I have been getting my car serviced at Downtown Honda of Chicago for many years. This is my second Honda vehicle they service. For the past few years, i have worked with Fred Borek. Fred is attentive, clearly explains the service my car needs, and is quick to respond to my questions. I always treated well with the best customer service.
Love my 2017 Honda Civic!!!! Thanks Fred for all your help and making the car buying process smooth and quick! Very friendly and honest guy who definitely made this experience amazing!
This was a wonderful experience the staff is so knowledgeable and helpful. Our repair was a huge safety issue that we did not know about. My advisor pointed this out to us. They were able to fix it immediately and we were done in less than 3 hours. We are so happy. There is no other dealership that we would have service done. We are customers for life.
Poor communication skills from all five different sales persons who continue to attempt to contact me even though they sold the car I was interested in two days prior to myself coming in to look at it yet did not tell me.
Fred Borek was very helpful. Not only did I not have an appointment but he got my car in and had it back to me in a hurry.I’ve been to other Honda dealerships but none are as helpful as this location.
Had great service from Darius at Honda Downtown! The Lyft rides home while I waited were really nice. They even washed my car!
Great service! Didn’t feel like I was being pushed into unnecessary fixes but was simply shown what should be done sooner than later. Was provided pictures of everything. Will definitely return.
Time after time Darius continues to exceed our expectations. Amazing customer service and overall services with our car maintenance. I appreciate this location so much and we are definitely here to stay. ♥️#HONDAFAMILY
Got me in for service same day. Fast and helpful service. Identified items that were getting close to needing to be replaced so that I could plan for the next service.
Two appointments and very different experiences. For the first, I was told I would be able to wait for my car while I had a recalled air bag replaced. Told person scheduling the appointment I would wait for the car. No problem, she told me. Would take an hour and a half.Arrive to drop off the car and told it would be ready 6 hours later. “We don’t have people wait anymore.”Okay, can it be done sooner than 4:00 pm, I asked. Not sure. I explained I would not have brought it today if this would have been told to me. “Oh, we wouldn’t let you wait on another day either” was the response. I responded I knew that but I would have planned my day and service differently.I asked if there was any way that they could get the car done sooner than four. The person there told me he would try. Technically I guess he was honest because he called me at 3:58 to pick up the car.I also was frustrated because there is now a charge for running a diagnostic check of I think $180 (might be wrong but it was a lot).Second appointment was yesterday and today. Great experience with Alex. Very helpful to repair / replace an issue with the seatbelt. Great communication and Alex was very proactive in ordering the part so I could have the repair made the next day.I think my major issue with the first visit was the communication issue from the dealer and that the car was not finished early. But, very positive experience today and less angry about the last appointment now that some time has passed.
Changed it to one star. STILL A MONTH LATER HAVING ISSUES! spoke to Nick who is a manager? Couldnt help us. Told the out of state title guy would call back in a minute once we hang up the phone. 1 hour later, still nothing. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS DEALERSHIP! I wish there was Some kind of accountability. They do not care and I cannot even believe this this is acceptable.Inconsistent answers, works dont communicate with each other and seem to have no idea what is going on, wrong information given to us, no call back or email back after multiple attempts when trying to follow up about missing paperwork that was supposed to have been mailed. RUDE and unhelpful customer service workers. Quote well! I dont know soo...? Dont know how to help you maybe trying to find out would be my recommendation for the next customer who has a question that is time sensitive. Cash your check and then are done with you. Not worth the time, energy or stress to buy a car here.
The salesman and finance person was great and patient. Unfortunately the car wasn’t very clean after detailing it. As we all know the demand for used cars are high and the car was a bit over priced, being leery of the way the car industry has been impacted by the pandemic the price was doable.
Hit a pothole, low tire pressure light came on. Fred was very helpful, as always. They checked everything and recalibrated the sensor. In and out very quickly.
Great experience with Alex! Very happy with the work done on my CR-V. Really appreciated the complimentary Lyft rides home and back to the dealership.
Walking into this Honda site was a pleasure. All the Associates were very friendly. Lisa Pagan and Thomas were very thorough explaining everything. All our questions were answered.
The customer service i experience by the providers is always great. However, my biggest concern is the wait time that I have to experience just for an oil change. This is definitely something that is recurring. Even with an appointment I still had to wait 4 and 1/2 hours for an oil change. This is always the least rewarding experience. While Dave was communicative and patience, I find it hard to believe why an oil change would take this long.
Do not purchase from here! My sibling purchased a used 03 Honda Accord yesterday. The salesman Erik Bowman had lied regarding the vehicle and said the vehicle was good. However, when my sibling drove the vehicle back home- the brake light turned on and it was taken immediately to a mechanic. It turned out that the vehicle had issues with the brakes as well as the lower and upper control arms. He tried to return the vehicle, and the employees refused and instead shifted the blame towards my sibling. If you are a college student and have zero knowledge of cars, do not turn to Erik Bowman as your car salesman, he will take advantage of you and sell you a car with issues. I recommend bringing a mechanic with you. I would give 0 stars if possible.
Lisa Pagan and Thomas Rose were so friendly and gregarious during our experience at Honda of Downtown Chicago. They treated us as if we had been friends for a very long time. It was a good feeling to purchase a Honda from them. We will continue to return for future business. Thank you Honda of Downtown Chicago! And, by the way, we love our new Honda!
Service advisors and technicians working on your vehicle are excellent. Any issues with yout vehicle are promptly addressed and immediately ready for maintenance.
Worst customer service I’ve come across. I was scheduled for my car appraisal and this lady named Daniella confirmed the time as well as the person who was supposed to take care of my case. I show up at the dealership and was asked to sit at the waiting area mentioning that someone would take care of me. No one showed up for 45 mins. I walk back to the guy who asked me to wait and he mentioned that he would go talk to Nick Neessen who was supposed to work on the appraisal only to return back saying Nick cannot leave his desk right now and asked me to come the next day. This is the worst customer service i’ve come across it is just unprofessional and ridiculous!!. I would have given then 0 stars if there was a choice to do so.
Very bad experiences on multiple occasions. They nickel and dime you like crazy. We have been told everything showed up fine on the report when our specific issue had yet to be addressed. We were told our car was in safe condition to drive when it wasnt and then overcharged for additional diagnostic fees when we had to come back in. The service advisors are especially clueless and will talk themselves in circles without understanding any of the mechanics. They pretend to have good service but if you actually have a real issue with your car outside of an oil change, you will have way more success with a repair shop that is fairly priced and has knowledgeable staff. We literally paid $700 for what ended up being just an oil change.
DO NOT GO HERE. PLEASE, DO NOT GO HERE. This place is a scam as they will try to bait you in with low internet price and then mark up thousands of dollars when you get there for packages and market adjustment. They will not tell you about this over the phone, which is ridiculous and straight up lying to the customer. What a waste of my time.
Took my car in for service, was upsold some services that likely werent necessary, and paid far too much for them. Thats my own fault! When I finally got my car back, however, I noticed a noise on my drive home. Thats when I realized the panel on the bottom wasnt screwed in properly. Id driven 6 miles down the highway like that (because Fiona Apples new album slaps! - but heres a reminder to listen to your car after you pick it up). I put myself AND others in total jeopardy because of shoddy service. Utterly disgraceful, and instills no confidence in me that any of these services I paid out the a** for were actually performed. Instead of contacting me directly, the manager chose to communicate with me through my customer service rep (who was nice, by the way, I hope you find a better job,) which just speaks volumes about this operation and how they handle accountability. They offered to reimburse the cost of me having my neighborhood mechanic reattach the panel, but my neighborhood guy isnt a crook like this dealership is, and he fixed it in 20 minutes and charged me nothing. (Dont worry I am taking him some treats later.) This is a reminder to support your neighborhood mechanics and leave the dealerships alone. Ill never make this mistake again.
Not an honest business.Eg, raised the mark up price out of no where and then cut it down. Also, they said the car had less 10 miles on it, but in fact 30+ miles.I will never buy cars from them ever.
My husband and I were sold a 2018 CRV last Monday. It had only been leased before we got it and according to the CarFax was in great shape. Literally 4 days later - and only one drive our to our home later (which is about 20 miles away) - the battery on the car DIED. We had to get the car towed from our house. The Honda Service Center agreed with us that that was insane and told us to ask the dealership to pay for it because they obviously sold us a bad battery. They didnt even try to help us and basically told us to F off. Just terrible service. We will probably never buy Honda again because there is no trust there anymore.
These 5 stars are given specifically to Fred, who is the best. Obviously dealerships are somewhat of a nightmare and have a terrible cliched reputation for a reason, HOWEVER- we had a great experience with Fred, he was incredibly knowledgable and helpful, really gave us the impression that we mattered, and was incredibly thorough in all of the follow-ups. We hit a snag in the process, but he kept working with us until we got our ideal car and the deal closed. Truly a wonderful salesperson, but never made us feel a way. Worth mentioning, that while my husband and I originally test-drove the car, Fred was dealing primarily with myself (a young woman) throughout the deal, and I was treated with the upmost respect (unfortunately this was not the case, however cliched, everywhere else). At several points throughout the process we could have gone elsewhere or closed a deal with someone else, but we chose not to because we appreciated Freds time and character so much. Additionally, Thomas in finance was also very helpful, clear, and easy to work with, and we appreciated him as well. Cant speak to the rest of the dealership, but heres hoping well have only good experiences with our new car in the future!
Good people to work with. Took a little longer than I thought was necessary for a cash sale but all in all a good experience. If and when I’m in the market again I will visit again.
This is the fourth car Ive purchased from Downtown Honda (2011 CR-V and todays 2021 CR-V), and its predecessor Fletcher-Jones (a Civic in 2006 and an Audi A4 sometime in the 90s). You must be doing something right since I keep coming back. After some dickering (it is, after all, a car purchase) working with Amir was great, and he was most helpful in showing us all the bells and whistles of our new car. Ive already called him with a question, and Im sure therell be more calls from me in his future.
I cant say enough about the service I received at Honda Downtown. I had a car with catastrophic electrical problems and was dropped off a block away from the service entrance by a tow truck in a tow zone. It was 15 minutes before closing time. Technician Wade was unflappable, went through numerous different attempts just to get it off the street, and ended up pushing the car a full city block with the help of a porter to the service doors. All after-hours mind you. I was amazed by this above-and-beyond demonstration of service (he even had enough left in the tank to say he felt sorry for *me* for my lousy day - whoa). Wade earned super-hero status in my book. The next morning Luke jumped in, found a fix for a pretty complicated problem, and I had my car back within 48 hours. The whole team was so remarkably good when Im so used to bad service. GREAT JOB to all.
I was treated with the utmost professional care. This is a very stressful situation for me. They were very helpful, and walked me through the process. I hope all goes well.
I am much impressed by the customer service…they give very detail information of my car and the guy seems really friendly and helpful.
My experience went beyond my expectations. Darrius Dorsey provided me with great customer service. I really appreciated the fact that after my services were done he arranged for my vehicle to be dropped off at my home. I will always choose Honda because of the professionalism.
Although I have had great service from dealers since owning my car Honda of Downtown is by far the best Ive experienced to date. I really appreciate the use of technology to keep me abreast of needed repairs and the staff namely Alexander created a very comfortable, yet professional experience. To be honest I didnt get this caliber of service when I owned a BMW. Kudos to Alexander and the folks at Honda of Nashville
Not a big reviews guy but just sharing my experience that I was lied to and tricked into coming into the dealership. After seeing the car I was interested in listed online, as well as speaking with an Alain to confirm the price and set up an appointment to drive and see the car, I drove downtown only to find that they did not have the car that they list on their website, or tell you over the phone they have. One would think if the car was not available, it would not be listed on the website. Or, if talking with someone down at the dealership to talk about the price of a specific car, they would be able to tell if it was in stock before driving down.If there was a reasonable explanation for all this, you wouldnt get to hear it until they lured you in to the dealership.
This business grabs every opportunity to rob you. I was charged $200 per hour labor cost for a regular service. I cannot believe this bill comes from a Honda dealer.
Gary Wilson was great, he was transparent in every conversation about the progress on the vehicle. Whenever he said we would get a call, we did, and I will happily use this Honda location and work with Gary in the future.
Very helpful sales staff. Got us in a car and home within a few hours. Answered all of our questions candidly.
Eric was our sales person! He was patient, kind and knowledgeable. Ben the sales manager helped us out as well. Finance manager Thomas was great! They all helped us out and even stayed late ! Great dealership, highly recommend !!!
My service adviser Gary was extremely helpful helping resolve my issue. He gave a ton of great information and was extremely responsive. I highly recommend
Had a lousy experience, very disappointed in the downton honda service, I do not recommend it at all.I took my car because it had a sound apparently of a bearing from one of the tires. They did the inspection and deduced that it was the left forward, they told me that they did not have the part, that it would arrive in two days, it did not arrive until the third day because they had a logistics problem, which is not understood as a big deal.I went to pick up my car, it had the same sound, I contacted the advisor who attended me (Alexander) and told him, he told me to take my car again, the next day I took it they made me a new inspection. Now they told me that one of the tires was making the sound on the front passenger side, that I had to change it, I was left with doubts and I told him that in my opinion it was another bearing or that maybe they changed the wrong one.Replace the tire and the noise continued. At this point I was beginning to be annoyed, I asked to speak to the manager who attended me, he personally drove my car with me and heard the noise of the tires, he told me to leave it for his best mechanics to inspect it.The next day her Advisor Gabriela called me telling me that now she came out in the report that she had to change the 4 tires, I said is it a joke? My tires are semi new they have 75% life, but according to their mechanics all my tires have deformed, and they have to be replaced, which I said I would not do because it seems to me that they are guessing and that I would not buy the tires since they are pre-owned. Gabriela told me that I had to pay 200 dollars for the inspection (haha, I literally started to laugh) I told her that they are charging me for an inspection that they are guessing, I told her that I would not pay anything because it is the third time I have taken my car and they have not been able to fix.Do not do any work, but be convinced never to return, in this dealer I bought my car less than a year ago which the tires were damaged in less than a year, the question then was that they sold me? Please stay away from this dealer, they do not answer for the bad work done.
Went to see options for a new car on a late Friday afternoon. Julian provided us sales service. He was friendly, personable, and answered all our questions. He accommodated us by having a car brought to the site for us to view without us having to drive out to the car location (we had another car appointment that evening). We contacted him the next day with interest in the car. Arriving there, we saw that it was a busy Saturday morning, but he made himself available to meet us that morning. We did not feel rushed or aggressively pushed during the “back-and-forth” process. He remained thorough and helpful.
Very good and efficient! This was my first time there for service.Dave my service guy was very nice and professional!!They communicate very well with txt. And by personal calls.I will be back for sure! Thanks 😊
The electronic communication system leaves much to be desired. Our car was to be finished by 5pm. By 6pm no notice. The Lyft service never arrived so I could pick up the car. I received an email later that the car was finished however I was already home with our car!
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to your employee, Mr. Gary Wilson, for saving the day throughout my experience in your estblishement, Honda of downtown Chicago. I was treated with the utmost respect, care, kindness and professionalism. He exhibited outstanding customer service skills, and impeccable performance as a team player. Had it not been for him redirecting an extremely unpleasant situation, I would never come back.Let me explain myself. Upon arrival at the Honda dealership I had the unpleasant experience of being greeted by Mr. Eric Whittaker. I asked if my car could be serviced due to a mechanical indicator light on for an oil change. He told me no I wait until next week, or the week after to schedule an appointment, but his tone was said with such anger, hostility, and he was extremely loud. I then asked to speak to the manager, and he told me no, the manager was not here. I was shocked by his rude behavior and immediately asked his counterpart, Gary, for assistance. He immediately took over my account and he handled it with exemplary service. Thank you Gary!As a customer, I should have never experienced this situation from Honda from your employee, Mr. Whittaker. All too often, we as African Americans, are treated with such disrespect and unfairness that it has sparked a social movement. Eric needs to be retrained and reprimanded so this will not happen again.I want to express my sincere gratitude and warm regards to Gary for changing changing the climate of this situation and for taking the time to assist with excellence. Thank you Gary for your help. Kudos to him!Sincerely,Angela Young
All my cars including non Honda cars get services at this dealership except manufacture specific maintenances. The staff is super friendly and they communicate well about the issue. One of the best thing is that they price match with other Chicago dealers service coupons. Highly recommended and few of my friends also service their cars here upon my recommendation.
Fred B. was great, he got me in and out with a smile on his face! Any questions I had he was knowledgeable and very easy to talk to.
I was thinking about purchasing a used car from here, despite previous experiences that can be generously described as awful, and im glad i checked here first. the long wait times that are at best a guess, the inconsistent and often conflicting communication, the surprise findings of things that are wrong and then being told they cant actually fix it - all of these problems existed back when it was fletcher jones, but are all turned up to 11 now. last time i was there i dropped a car off at 7:30a and was told it would be ready by lunchtime; then after lunch; then early evening; service dept closes at 7, i showed up at 6:45 and waited until after 9. no apology, no attempt to make it right, and as a result no more business from me.if you dont value your time, and enjoy getting multiple lines of BS from people, this is the place for you. its like Ed Debevics, but for cars, and no food. no thank you.
My experience was heightened by the courtesy presented by the staff there when I arrived, paperwork was also quite expedient to complete and my overall stay was delightful, walked away with 2012 Honda Civic...73000 miles...I highly recommend that you yourself undergo the warm receptive highlights!!!
I have not seen worst service center than this one. They kept lying about wait time and I end up waiting for my own car for 5 hours. on top of that they said your car needs so many emergency changes and I believed them and end up paying more then $1600. After asking other local maintenance guys I came to know they swindled me. Dont go to this center if you value your time and money. I wish google had 0 star.
Darrius was super attentive and didn’t push a lot of “extras” when I had my vehicle serviced. He was excellent.
Most of the service advisors are terrible at customer service, specially Fred Borek, he is a special kind of jerk.Prices are really high, they charge you for everything you ask, no matter how small. Also, if you dont accept all the services they suggest for your car they treat you even worse.
Customer service by Alex Reyes is always great at Honda. He is prompt, efficient and cares about customer’s needs. The downside is the long wait for just an oil change it can take from 2 to 3 hours. 😳😳
