I had been looking for a GTI for a quite some time and when I visited City VW of Chicago last month, they didn’t have any. My sales rep Alex Rocha told me that due to the chip shortage, most dealerships were getting some difficulties to get new units and in case they were going to receive one, he would reserve it for me. I had a good surprise three weeks later, when he called me, telling me that they had received one. I went to see it, had my test drive and took it home. Bought the ID.4 here and Alex was great. We talked a lot about cars and he is a car guy. Be surprised that most car salesmen are not car guys. Everything was smooth and fairly quick. Back in July 3rd I went in for a simple patch service on my tire because most tire shops were busy. It was a simple job that probably took them 20 mins. Unfortunately when I picked up my vehicle the front right rim was scratched. Which wasn’t the tire they serviced. I called them and told them that they had scratched my rim on the sidewalk. They replied with it’s a holiday weekend so we’ll be open until next week I said ok. I went in week after because I wanted them to look at the cameras and see who drove my vehicle and scratched my rim. I went in and spoke to John, I believe he is in charge of service department. He said we’ll have to see the cameras to see if we were at fault. I left him my number and name but never got a reply. It’s been over a month and still no reply. This is the second vehicle I purchased from the same company. And I can’t believe they wouldn’t acknowledge me or bother to say anything. But to buy a vehicle they are persisting with calls. I wouldn’t trust my vehicle at this location anymore. Also if you ever take your vehicle here make sure you check everything before you leave. I don’t know what porter or mechanic drove my vehicle that was in a rush to leave work. This location is not trustworthy.

I went to City Volkswagen of Chicago on 7/20/21 hoping to purchase a new vehicle. When I walked through the door I was greeted by Edgar, one of the salesmen. Edgar immediately made me feel at ease. He never pushed me or rushed me, he let me take my time to make sure I was comfortable driving (Im a suburban girl who usually avoids city driving at all costs) so I could get a true feel for the car. Then I met with sales manager Erick and he was just as friendly and helpful as Edgar. Erick made sure I knew all of my options and made it all work for me and my budget. Again, he was very transparent and did not try to rush me into a plan that I felt uncomfortable with. Finally I met with Ernie in finance. Usually a very stressful and confusing time for me, Ernie was very patient and walked me through every step. As a bonus, I had more laughs with these guys throughout the day and have never felt more at home with a group of strangers (AND I found my dream car). They definitely have a customer for life!

Just another customer thats how I felt here...I should know by now how dealerships operate.Eddy is a great guy, respectful nice to talk to but his well trained in sales, hell know what to say for every comment you have to say.When Eddy brought a different guy I think his manager, (I cant remember his name ) he is the one that makes a deal with you to bring down a Inspection fee for $809 dollars that was not disclose anywhere in the website or mentioned by them until you are ready to talk about monthly payments. QUICK TIP!! DO NOT EVER FOCUS ON MONTHLY PAYMENTS FIRST. Set the price FIRST and then ask for taxes and title handling amount and then decide if you want to finance the hole amount or just the final price. Well I asked to be removed and the guy said No. So I gree to bring it down to certain amount.. NOT HAPPT ABOUT THAT. By the way we were the last ones there on a Monday night 8:00 pm ..At the end this guy Manager walked out of the building looking straight ahead.. No congratulations, no.. Have a nice night, NOTHING!!! LAST TIP Dont buy cars at night youll be missing a lot of inperctions in your car that are cleared at sun light.

My partner and I bought a 2020 GLI from here, and our sales associate was Enrique Garibay. We popped in without a scheduled test drive just because we happened to be in the area (and we also happened to have our small dog with us). Enrique was amazing!! He was kind to us and our little ankle-biter. He made the trade-in and purchase SO easy and we feel very confident about our purchase and the service. The car we liked had a crack in the windshield, and Enrique made sure that that would be fixed and that the numbers would match our budget. We are a pretty young couple (or at least we *look* awfully young), and sometimes being young can lead to dismissive service, but Enrique never made us feel that way at all. He was upfront about costs and concerns. We also ended up getting the 4-year maintenance package partly because this dealership was so great. We plan to keep this car for a long while, but if the need arises to trade in or purchase another car, we will definitely come here first. Someone give Enrique a raise!!
