Here from out of town..Was tired of the Grocery store (Jewels) for Meat. So, I Google Meat market near Me. I decided to go Here. I arrived there & Wasnt Disappointed (Reminded Me of the Meat Market at home). FAST, FRIENDLY, CLEAN,VERY GOOD QUALITY MEAT!!!!

Ive been there many times before they have a great selection of meat but their prices have increased some but its still worth it because of the quality.

Folks well I get my fish,chicken,and some smoked meat there.this time Im making Gumbo and they have the seasoning I need, matter of fact if youre looking for that certain season try this store.very reasonable Prices, also Fresh fruit, good sweet watermelon,they do have meat Packs, all Pork or All Beef, Plus mostly any kind of fresh meat you want .but I dont think they have wild game meat, and other Items almost like a grocery store.real close to where I live.oh they do carry all kinds of cold cuts.well must go now just stop by and see for your self.nice People.your senior citizen shopper.still in tune and here.bless U all.

Just made my first visit. Pretty good meat diversity, quality and prices. It would be nice if they invested in some cleaning of the lot and facade. Only substantive issue is I asked to have a large steak cut in half and was told the butchers don’t cut meat! I guess it’s been a while since I’ve visited a butcher service in Chicago.Update: Based on the reviews, I’m hoping I found a rank “needle in the haystack.” We prepared a $25 corned beef bought at my last visit. When I came home this evening, I was told it is rotten. I won’t even uncover it since I implicitly trust the cook. We will not be patronizing this establishment again. Beware!

Wings too expensive

Some of the employees are rude to me here, and I never did anything to either one of them, but came and shop and bought my food. The cashiers are always friendly, its some of the men in the meat section. Today, one came out laughing at me, I went off because I got tired of them. Talked to the boss, he said he would talk to them, but he also believed that his employees dont act that way. Be aware of some of their behavior towards some of the customers in this store.

I usually like this place, most people that i speak w/ are long time customers. They have told me that the quality of the meat and poultry is pretty good. I have on occasion purchased chicken legs, last summer they had 10/$1. But most times I only purchase chips or sometheing to drink. I been told by a friend who used to work in a meat dept elsewhere how clean this store is, HOWEVER today the smell of rotten meat was very thick, i was shocked. I have never smelled that aroma before. ....hope this was just a bad day....

I visited this place for the 1st time because it was closer to home vs 119th. Let me say, major turn off. 1st, I couldnt see some of the meats because they had stock in front of the windows. (Only in a certain spot to be clear). I asked the 1st gentleman (bald guy) do you have fajitas he said its at the end. I couldnt see it because of the stock in front of the window. I said ok let me get 4lbs. When he showed me 4lbs I will admit it was too much. I apologize and said Im sorry I didnt think it was going to be that much. Can you put half back. His face turned upside down, he huffed, and puff real hard through his nose. Okay, to me that was problem number 2. I get it tho! Because I work face to face customer service too. But he shouldnt show that kind of attitude to the customer. But I was having a good day so I didnt let it bother me. As Im looking for more meat to purchase the gentlemen with the dreads said next a 100times very loud. But the same customers were standing there looking at the inventory. A new customer has not stepped up. So why are you yelling NEXT obnoxiously. Any who, after the 4th, 5th next, I asked the gentlemen with the dreads can I have 3lbs of party wings. He went to get the wings ready and then said 3lbs party wings ready. To me it didnt look like 3lbs. So I asked him thats 3lbs remind you very politely. He shook his head up and down and said yea sarcastically with a DUAHHHH look on his face and then said NEXT. He didnt even ask me would I like anything else. I said okay. I removed my party wings, paid, and left. I will not return because I dont like their customer service. Im all about customer service. If you treat me good I will come back. Never mind how much things cost. I see this store have great reviews thus the reason why I came in. So maybe it was a bad day for them. Eaither way that store will not get none of my money. I will be going back to 119th and Parnell where there nicer to there customers even tho it is further for me. Thanks but no thanks!

Because I just called wright now to ask for something and got hung up and called again thinking maybr got disconnected but same she hung up the phone on me again. What is wrong with that lady answering calls. Maybe you should fire her and let someone nice and polite answer calls.

This store is always stinking the butchers never change their gloves the butchers are rude as ever they let different meat touch the butchers are not courteous they talk to you any type of way they don’t have hair nor beard nets so you don’t know if it’s human hair or animal hair on your meat you try and tell the owners but hey overlook it I bet if the BBB pops up there they’ll get shut down they even sell spoiled and outdated food the health department needs to be called on this store because someone is going to die from eating the meat from this store

I went to Discount Meat Co. Chicago which located on 341 W. 79th in Chicago, Il 60620. Monday June 15, 2015 and bought some bacon with the rind on and 2 bags of chips . The bacon was SPOILED and the CHIPS STEAL!!!!! HOW DARE YOU SELL THIS CRAP TO THE PUBLIC ?!!!!! I AM PUTTING YOU ON BLAST!!!!! THRU ALL MEDIA !!!! STARTING NOW!!!!!!!!!
