Walking in it seems like its just a grocery store but as you walk your left about 10 steps there is an actual restaurant on the other side of the grocery store. Id like to add that there is tvs hanging on the wall but the one above us was broken and my wife couldnt see what I was telling her about a video. To me first impressions are everything and a busted TV on a wall was not attractive, nevertheless food is fantastic.This place is a staple to Chicago when it comes to the handmade gorditas. Tacos are fair price since the meat prices change looking at 3.50 for a decent size taco only comes with onion and cilantro any add-ons are extra, chips and salsa here is 2.00 its not included, gorditas a sopes are priced a bit more. The arracherra has a nice char to the meat very enjoyable. The drinks we had was a large freshly squeezed orange juice ask for a cup of ice because it is served with no Ice. And I had a hibiscus drink aka Jamica.We spent about 45 bucks tip is not included for waitstaff and there is no tip option on the card reader. When you are done you get the number for your table and walk up to the register. Waitstaff is attentive and always ask if you need anything that I love because there isnt many places with service like that any more.

Dang this place is definitely not the same place i grew up around. I was so dissapointed.I invited the family, about 8 on a thursday evening, maybe 3 hours before closing. On average we ordered about 2 gorditas each. First the orders were wrong but simple mistakes. Then we recieved our food super fast.We ender up returning 5 gorditas since they were cold. The chicarron was super hot but My mom, trying to be nice, asked her to put those in the microwave.....Food was good but tasted like it had been sitting all day. When we went to pay at the register I looked back and noticed the very young guy trowing away the trash was behind the grill, I noticed all he was doing is putting the dough gorditas in the microwave and filling them with meat that was sitting in a metal bin on the grille. The steak was sitting in a huge one(since its probably popular) everything else in smaller ones. Explaining why the steak was cold.Its sad that this place went down like this. It may be an employee shortage issue, but still sad. I hope the other location isnt going through the same. If anything ill try it on my own.

Food is good but, always charge for an item we havent order.

Barbacoa tacos were definitely not Barbacoa and the al pastor was a total fail. However the Gorditas de Chile Verde were so so good and spicy. Tacos de lengua were very nicely cooked.

I visit this place, to enjoyed but my food wasnt that good l ordered a tampiqueña midium and the cooked my meat over done sorry l will never comeback

Brought entire family of five kids and myself and husband. Food was super fast, reasonable price and plentiful. We were all stuffed and very satisfied. One of my husband’s all time favorites!

Went here today my god !! Best authentic Mexican food here in Chicago! Good service, clean restaurant, and good prices ! Our waitress was really nice and we only had to wait for about 20 min for all of our food. Its attached to a Mexican store. After your meal go check out some nice authentic Mexican snacks and candy.

Food is good but they keep hiking up the prices, I dont think Im going to be visiting again anytime soon. Tampiqueña plate went from $22 a plate to $33 in a few weeks. Thats crazy...I get it...pandemic hurt a lot of businesses but this place has a grocery store which was open as an essential. As always we the people get stuck with the high prices.

This place can highly really need improvements. The fruits at this location are very dirty, and all the fruits just seem to be expired. The vegetables at this location are very dirty, and just makes customers feel to not buy them at all. The workers are just talking to their buddies, and dont assist their customers in a well mannered, and talk with their buddies while they charge their customers. They dont even greet or welcome their customers at all. Their service to customers is just plain horrible. What type of business is this? The workers are very unprofessional, and are not well educated. Finally, I will highly recommend to avoid this place and go to another place and shop.

Although it is a medium sized grocery store, you can find almost everything you want from a large supermarket, and Im happy to support my local small businesses during these difficult times. Plus they are famous for their handmade gorditas, thatll have to wait until my next trip.

This place is the truth! Try the gorditas. Have been coming here since I was a kid. I always got the tacos and a licuado de fresa. Cannot recommend them enough!Ordered for takeout in the restaurant and my order was done super quick too.

The cashier feom store steals your money and pretend she dont know what happens, according to management she been there 45 years yet she dont know how to work the register right she need stop gossiping with her coworkers and pay attention to what she is doing

I travel to Chicago once a year with family and the restaurant we come to eat is this one they have great service though they dont have many options for vegetarians or vegans we still love to come here and enjoy!

Carne asada was tuff...pastor was good and chorizo tacos lacked taste....not good for a restaurant that has been around a long time...hot sauce side are sometimes old you can tell by the top how the cap is oval and not flat...

I just today ordered for delivery. I ordered gorditas 2 de chicharron en salsa roja and 2 de asada plain. Order was all wrong. I got 2 de chicharron en salsa verde and 2 de asada con frijoles queso cebolla y cilantro. I was surprised because in restaurant service is great i love this place pero para delivery no conviene.

I love love the gorditas and the tacos de guisado. Tienen de muchisima varied. Y los precios son reasonable. The store closes at 12 and youll find a little but of everything and lots of varietys of alcohol and liquor.

Amazingly delicious Mexican food. Our first time, had gordita de chicharon with salsa verde, tacos al pastor. Mmmm.The service was excellent. There is side parking lot with attendant. Go for the delicious food not the ambiance.

I had a bad experience tonight I order some enchiladas and taco salad waited close to an hour for my food since it was delivered they charged me $30 dollars when it got here the enchiladas were burnt and ripped an sloppy with a tiny bit of rice and beans and taco salad was drowned in water and soggy just not eatable so I called the restaurant spoke to the owners daughter who had no customer service skills argued with me for a whole 30 min very disrespectful and rude there was no manager or supervisor or owner onsite but she said she was in charge but didn’t know how to take care of the problem I had to go out my way to go in personally with the food and get my money back smh I will never in my life step foot in this place again there is more to this but I just rather not continue how do you run a business and argue with the customer after she saw the food she was even like oh what is this EXACTLY WHAT I SAID nasty!!!!!! I really enjoyed the food there just finished getting out a couple minutes ago. I got the combo plate of 2 tacos 1 gordita. Im not from Chicago i actually live in Texas but i say if youre a tourist like me looking for some good Mexican food this spot is great. My only complaint is that the salsa wasnt spicy enough it was like weak azz mild salsa. Other than though come here for some good food.Edit: i shouldve mentioned this. They gave me my food super quick i only waited about 5-10 minutes after i ordered and the fact that they had a lot of people there. Yo they moving like the Flash there.

Carniceria Aguascalientes, food is delicious, service EXCELLENT, the only upside is when you paid with Credit Card, they CHARGED YOU a 4% for you to pay with CREDIT CARD. Other than that everything is GOOD.

Delicious, authentic, and fast. I have never had problems with the food here and I have been here countless times; the person that said they got food poisoning just had bad luck. Get the coffee with bread in the morning or after your meal. Gordita de champiñones is the best. Go!

Used to love this place especially for the gorditas. I would always take friends and family from out of town here. BUT, the last 3 times my family ate here we got sick. The first 2 times I thought I could have been coming down with something. But, the third time we went I didnt eat just ordered a drink and my daughter ordered Pozole. She didnt finish it so we took it home. She got sick later on at night and I didnt think it was the food until the next day I heated up the pozole and got sick. Sad to say I will never go back and will never recommend this place to anyone ever again.
