I took my car for a simple rear brake job and a slight rumble noise from a flex connector. $880 later my car had all (4) new pads & rotors, flex connector, new catalytic converter, check engine light on and a bad alternator. I took it back but my car still has engine light, muffler that rattles worse than before plus I had to replace the alternator myself. All in all I spent over $1200 for something that shouldve been more like $300 (150-brakes; 150-flex connector) plus my car sounds & drives terrible and my check engine light is still on. Nice people and good customer service but bad mechanics & they made unnecessary repairs plus they recycle the old catalytic converters and they keep the money. Where is the core refund? Never going here again. Would not recommend.

This place was awesome. I waited for my car and once they lifted my car up in the air, they showed and explained to me what was wrong. They explained the process and before bringing the car down, they showed me the work they performed. HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!!!

This place is absolutely amazing. I’ve take all my cars there. They’ve fixed my muffler on 2 of them, an alignment on another and soon I’ll be going for an oil change on all of them. Great service, awesome with time management, and amazing with their work. I highly recommend!

This Velazquez location is the most professional location Ive been to. The mechanics and staff are thorough, caring and efficient. I will be returning for any future car repair needs. My car is back to running like new!

I had a really good experience the staff was very friendly and professional. The mechanic explained everything in detail for me. The customer service was 10/10 I had some other things that we later discovered was wrong with the car and the mechanic did an excellent job explaining, showing and repairing the problem for me. I took my truck in to diagnose a noise coming from the undercarriage. They located the issue and didnt charge for their service! Honest guys!

My tires were slashed. I had to get it towed so I called them because they do my regular maintenance. Eloy said they could help so the tow dropped off the car at about 10:05am. Between the diagnostic, the quote, the ordering of the tires and the time my car was given back to me, it was a total of about 3 hours. This definitely puts them at the top of my list. Service is great!

Eloy did everything in his power to get the job done right. Even do there was a 2nd & 3rd time attempt he got the job done because of bad part from manufacture not Velasquez auto shop. That says a lot from this gentleman & the company he represents. Thank you guys at Velasquez auto repair 👍🏼

Great place! They were honest and performed my repair in a jiffy. Highly recommend this automotive shop.

Took my car there because it was leaking antifreeze and overheating. I was told I needed a new thermostat, which they supposedly replaced. A few weeks later, the car was overheating again. I took it back, they checked for leaks, told me everything looked fine but if I had problems, bring it back. Days later, theres a stronger burning smell coming from under the hood and the antifreeze has leaked out again.The inconvenience of traveling back and forth to the shop isnt worth the warranty and ultimately, a loss of $250. Polite service but did not fix the problem.

Eloy is awesome, truly treated me, my truck, and the job with integrity. The job was done correctly, and showed me exactly the issues I had left on the truck with no hassle. I couldnt be any happier 5/5 experience.Ive had bad luck with mechanics in the past, its good to know theres one we as customers can trust. The only caveat is that they need a full time store clerk to run the front because Eloy does it all!EDIT : THEY HIRED A FRONT DESK CLERK HALLELUJAH!

I brought my hummer h3 to Velasquez complete auto care to get my brakes done and vehicle inspected. The mechanic called me and told me I only needed my front brakes and rotors replaced and everything else looked good. They did the brakes and rotors and I picked up my car and went on a trip to South Dakota where it started making a loud noise from the front wheel. I was lucky enough to find an auto repair shop in the middle of nowhere small mountain town USA . The technician here in South Dakota said it was the front wheel bearing and that the person fixing the brakes should have noticed because it was THAT bad. I agreed, in high school auto shop class we were taught that a bearing inspection/repack is a critical part of a brake job. If they missed something that bad I don’t trust them working on my vehicle again. Because of their negligence I had to rent a car on my vacation while my vehicle was being serviced .

Excellent prices and conveniently located next to Midway Airport. They do full synthetic oil changes for as low as $45 and will plug a flat tire for only $15. I highly recommend them, especially to my fellow Chicago Rideshare drivers. Great place!

I am so grateful for this shop! A few months ago, I went to a different shop in the suburbs in regards to loud rattling noises my vehicle was making. I was told my struts needed to be replaced and for a pretty penny. I took a chance and stopped by at Velasquez on Archer and was greeted by a super nice young lady named Yesenia. I explained my situation and how I needed a quote on whatever repairs may be needed to get rid of this annoying, scary noise in my car. She happily informed the mechanics Gerardo & Oscar of my concerns and within 10 minutes (maybe less) he took my car for a spin and returned with a diagnoses. My stabilizers were broken and that was the reason why my car was making all that noise! They were both so kind to show me and educated me on what the stabilizer did for my vehicle. They were patient with me and answered any questions I had, respectfully. Immediately the next day I returned and they ordered my parts and fixed the CORRECT part on my vehicle. The best part ? I dont hear that noise anymore! I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!! THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!! THANKS SO MUCH!! I WILL BE BACK AGAIN!

I arrived at their shop at 3:00 p.m I took a look in the shop and I saw the guys were eating at 3:00 I thought to myself its pretty late to be taking the lunch considering that they close at 4:00. I waited 20 minutes and I have not been acknowledge yet I took a look into the shop again and the guys were still sitting I noticed two cars in the shop and two customers waiting. Call the shop while I was in the lobby so I can talk to someone. Someone finally came up to me and asked whatdwhat you need? I told him that my exhaust hanger broke off (They worked on it 3 months ago) the gentleman mentioned that they take the last car in at 3:00 and I responded I was here at 3:00. He then told me that he has two cars he needs to finish up Thats a little bit hard to believe when they were sitting down for 20 minutes. never coming back here again They are not professional and do not care about the customers time.

The staff and mechanics are awesome! I came to Velasquez to get my repairs done for my failed emissions test. Juan is such an awesome mechanic. He showed my the work that needs to be done, and after the required repairs were fixed, he explained that I still need to do a few things to get my car in the best shape. Even with a few repairs still needed, my car is running so much better.

I came for an oil change and left with a damaged Oil pan. The manager said it was normal wear and tare once I brought it to another mechanic and told me Velasquez shop messed it up, I went back and they said it was not them. At first they said one thing then when I took it for a second opinion they changed their diagnosis. So now I have a bigger bill.

Took awhile to actually find a shop in the Chicagoland area that carries the specific exhaust system I was looking for, but then Velasquez Complete Auto Care came along. They were able to find and receive the specific corsa performance exhaust I wanted, all within 4 business days and have it installed all within 2 hours.The whole team was great and delivered great customer service.

Fast, affordable service

Had a slight emergency on the way back to my office with breakfast and was driving with a flat. Luckily this place was close and decided to give them a try. The young lady in the office, I believe her name was Marili, I apologize if I misspelled that, but she was very professional and friendly and answered all my questions with no problems. Service was good and very affordable, just $15 to fix the flat. Highly recommend this place.

I went to Velasquez at Archer&Knox knowing that my truck had an exhaust leak due to a failed flange. Omar the Manager took my truck right away even though they seemed busy. He had a mechanic put it on a lift and they showed me what they found wrong and it was exactly what I knew was the issue. No games were played or attempts at upselling. About 25 minutes later I was all taken care of for a reasonable price. Highly recommend this location.

This place seems to be pretty reliable. Have not had the work done yet, but was very impressed with the service this far.

I had the pleasure of meeting Gerardo today and Im so thankful that he was able to fix my van and Im back to driving quietly again. Close to home and affordable too!!

Arrived at the shop and within 10 minutes my car was on the rack. The manager look at the vehicle, explained what was wrong (the source of the exhaust noise), and proceeded to give me a fair price on a replacement muffler. He also offered to repair another portion of the exhaust with the purchase of the muffler at no charge. Great service, good price, completely hassle free.

Went in for a oil change on a lexus.After the oil change the computer still said it needed an oil change and filter. Right after the visit the parking sensors were not working.

The work is not inspected, also work needs to go through manager inspection and tion before car gets released, mechanics need to work more professionally and assume or under mind cleint... pls be honest and loyal to all work performed....

You know what? when your car breaks down, you feel that nothing works for you, 20 degrees, cold and snowing, but none of that matters, Velasquez sent people to pick up my car, they repaired me quickly and at a good price! Thank you very much guys of Archer street workshop!

DO NOT GO HERE. This place charges whatever they want. Way over priced. Took a bolt on exhaust that I wanted welded on and the guy told be the exhaust was not for my truck. I ordered this exact fit exhaust that I paid over $400 for and the guy said he wa S going to charge $170 for the welding (which is about $50 more then average for this kind of job). I figured since I was here Ill just do it. He said this exhaust did not fit and charged me an extra $30 to add a 6 pipe. I just went to a different muffler shop and they pointed out everything he did wrong. I am going to take off my system and pay another $600+ to get it installed again. Horrible job from this place. Do NoT go here trust me you will regret it. My exhaust 6 back then what it should of been. I hate it. So embarrassed to drive my truck like this. Next week is coming off. I just lost $600.

I was disappointed in the staff that operate there. They endure a lack of professionalism and customer service. The mechanic that I attempted to explain the problem with my a/c suffered inferiority issues. I still dont know how well it will operate with my replacement of my compressor unit and dryer unit installed. My automobile has a vibration while turning my a/c. Hope they honor my warranty if anything falls out with the system.

I dont know if they dont know what they are doing or just ripping people off. Went there with ac blowing warm told me compressor and lines leaking and also that my truck had an electrical issue and just like the rest of the reviews they called me every time they found something wrong with my car so i can supposedly see for myself making them look real honest. They tried charging me close to a 1,000 bucks but told me they couldn’t repair the electrical issue so i asked them to put my car back together and i took it to another shop. I explaind to them what this shop had found and after them looking at it my car only needed 89 dollar a/c charge and it has been working fine! Dont get ripped off by this place!

Have used them in the past without any problems and they had fair price. Due to this I recently went to them to see how much they will charge to change out my stock exhaust for an aftermarket exhaust. The job would be easy as its literally take off and put on, with no welding required.They quoted me 3 different prices on the same day, the most ridiculous being when i was in person and they saw the car. (not an expensive car by any means). 250?! for a bolt on job? this is when i started looking around and saw that most of the recent reviews are true, they dont post any prices and they charge you what they feel like at the moment, very unprofessional. I walk right out the door and i suggest you stay away.

Brought my sons car in at Rcher and Knox for exhaust work....I was expecting to replace the whole system. Once they inspected it, they calle me to look at it. All it needed was the muffler pipe welded and a clamp...in and out quick and very reasonable. My goto exhaust shop from now on.

Rushed $25 oil changed, did not accept debit card at first, gotta check if they really filled it... estimate for other work, highway robbery...never again, best to go to Jiffy Lube, will pay extra for good oil change.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO VELASQUEZ ON ARCHER & CICERO. I took my car there in November to get my knock sensor replaced. They tried charging me for four hours of work when in reality it only took them a little over two. My dad eventually got them to charge me fairly. Then about a month and a half ago or so, I needed to get some work done on my brakes- had to replace the rotors, a caliper, and the pads. The other mechanic that I like I was fully booked, so we took my car back to Velasquez since theyre known for brakes and mufflers. Everything seemed fine until I went back to Missouri. Then I started having a scraping noise in my rear. I had a mechanic in Columbia look at my car and he said that my caliper in the right rear was bent. This was something that Velasquez had put on. On my way home for spring break, my check engine light turned back on. So we took my car back to Velasquez since the scraping noise was their problem and they needed to take care of it, and they said that the check engine light came back on because I needed to replace the knock sensor. I told them I had them replace it in November and they pulled up my receipt and told me that the part is not under warranty because they adjusted the price, when the reason why they adjusted the price was because they were trying to charge me unfairly. And they told me that the scraping noise was because of my wheelbearings and said that both sides need to be replaced, $220 each side- $440 in total, plus $320 to replace the knock sensor AGAIN. I told them that I wanted my key and that I wasnt going to have my car worked on there. I took my car to Teds Auto Repair next to Racine Bakery and he looked at it and told me that the wheel bearings were completely fine, my car was safe to drive after he replaced the knock sensor. Velasquez was just trying to get me to pay them more money for things that I didnt need to work on. Ive almost spent $1k at Velasquez between November and January and will not be spending another penny there ever again.

Worst place Ive ever been got charged $86 for just a diagnosis just to tell the same thing auto zone told me . They tried to charge me $700 just for a Throttle body change bought the part at Autozone for $165 and installed for $57 at iafterhours auto repair .Scams I dont doubt if the only good reviews are there own.

Ive been going to Velasquez and sons shops for at least 6 years, mostly the Belmont and Mannheim ones so when i saw one nearby my new job, i didnt even think about it, i went. the first two times i came, they closed about an hour before their posted hours so i went out of my way both times to see the open sign turned on but no service. finally when my car was checked out, i was quoted for two prices $140 to exchange a flex pipe and the other one being with the guys saying my catalytic converter was no good, $330. I waited over 1.5 hours just for them to take 3 min to check this but w/e. When i had time, i went to their shop on Mannheim and turned out i was completely lied to. The pipe that needed fixing cost about 15$ which the guys gave me for free and the work took no more than 10 min. They charged me $10 and gave me a free burrito. Went to take my emission test today.. Passed with flying colors #unbelievable.
