Lee was very helpful when I came in for an oil change and Oil Pan Gasket Repair which other shops had told me I needed replaced. He raised the car up and showed me where it was leaking from before, explained the benefits of repairing where the leak was coming from. I left to get the car replaced and he called to update me the Valve Cover Gasket was needing replaced. When he discussed the costs he explained how paying in cash does provide a discount. The total cost went from $640 down to $500.

Just really want to say a big thanks to the manager Lee. Came in thinking I had a problem with the brakes but it turned out to be my front bearings. He really went out of his way to explain the problem, the severity and the best solution for it. Not the best news but he was more then fair with getting the work done and not ripping me off as a authorized car dealer service shop would. Thanks again Lee and will keep this place in mind for any future car repairs.

I took my Chevy Avalanche here after going to a few other places to try to have the alignment corrected.Eddie was great, not only was the customer service exceptional they also got the alignment perfect. This is my second review. They somehow deleted my 1st review. The front desk mechanic was nice. But when I saw the estimate i asked for a discount. The owner who was sitting behind the mechanic heard me ask and rushed over to me and started explaining to me very rudely and disrespectful why they wont give a discount. Afterwards I was afraid that he might order his mechanics to intentionally break something in my car. If they delete this review. I will post another one. Im sure they have enough fake reviews already.

Eddie and the guys are Awesome. The owner Gene also made sure I was taken care of. They prepped my Porsche for the track including brake rotors and pads, fluid flush, oil change, new wheels and tire mounting, and it performed flawlessly...

Called and they left me on hold for half an hour

I had my car break down right at the interstate near this Midas. I lost power to the wheels. I do a lot of my own car repairs and could tell it was a transmission or axle problem. My initial reaction was to have it towed to my house or a shop local to my house. I randomly noticed the Midas a block away while working the phone to get a tow truck. I went in and they sent someone out to look at the car. He crawled underneath and was able to diagnose that it was a axle break, the better outcome of my suspected problems. The guys from the shop helped me push it into the shop (rather than needing to wait for an expensive tow) and had the car repaired quickly and under the quoted budget. I would recommend using them.

The crew here do an amazing job. The midas corporation should be proud to have such great staff. these are workers who will not give you the run around and whos main focus is to get the job done well. I wouldnt trust any other place. Lee is great, and the manager and other members are sociable and knowledgeable. You truly feel like your taking your car to that awesome uncle who happens to love fixing cars. If you have have a bad experience with mechanics come here they will definitely change your mind.

Fine work. but they will fix on your car what they think they should, not what you tell them.9/3 Midas had their employee call to rectify the situation? In turn he made it worse. I called this place to make an appointment for a wheel alignment, and an oil change. I only got the wheel alignment due to their attention to my tires. I know the issue, and had appointments elsewhere to have them changed. I went in to drop my car off for this appointment, and they claim I never said anything about the oil change. In person, maybe not - but why make an appointment? Plus, this is disputed heavily, as I am pretty certain that it was the first thing I mentioned over the phone when I was checking to see if my groupon would work. I also checked when I could take it in, and how much all of that would cost. This fool better not call my phone again to argue. This could have been left at that. Not using this business again.

Eddy and Co. at Midas on Irving Park were professional and courteous. I showed up without an appointment and they took care of my needs for my car and had me back rolling with little wait time. The shop is clean and super professional and all the staff were really easy to work with and it was actually kind of fun hanging out there. I recommend this shop to anyone especially if your in doubt about taking your car to a new shop. If you have a big job or routine job, make an appointment you wont be disappointed.

I have to take a minute to commend these guys. The staff is the highest level of professional and kind. They took my car right away, had the patience to hear out all my questions and concerns and got back to me surprisingly fast to let me know the prognosis. What really impressed me though was Eddie, who I believe is the manager, offered options in different price ranges without any pressure to spend outside my comfort zone. Theyre an honest efficient crew and clearly care about their customers. The stress of having to get my car repaired was significantly alleviated because of Eddie and the staff. This is my 3rd time going to this location for an oil change and have always been told I needed extra work. Ive never thought anything of it..... I want a safe car. Today I was observing and realized everyone who was leaving before me was being told their repair cost was in the $400 range. Sure enough my vehicle also need that much worth of repairs. I probably would have done it had the service rep not said my wipers were fine. My wipers have needed to be replaced since last year. He said my lights all were fine....one of my tail lights is out. He also said my tires were almost at the end of their life....I just bought those brand new 2 years ago and I travel 10 miles to and from work. He didnt even notice the banging noise by the right front tire. That was hard to believe.Instead of making money on honest repairs they want to make their money on fluid changes.NOT TRUST WORTHY!On a personal note. Regardless of the business, a manager should always look presentable not looking like he steppes out of the Jersey Shore MTV show.

Have had several terrific experiences with this Midas. At this point, I wont take my vehicle anywhere else for major repairs. Gene and his crew are extremely responsive, honest, knowledgeable, do quality work, have fair pricing, all with quick turnaround.

I live in suburb but always make time to go to that place if car needs any kind of repair. Very impresses with their customer dealing, friendly/courteous staff. Lee is master technician, always does awesome job.

First time Ive been to a repair shop near my place that didnt try to swindle me for other things when I was getting a simple oil change. Eddie and staff were super friendly. While they did make some recommendations for other maintenance, I didnt feel badgered or pressured to do so. Its gonna be my new go to in the city.

Fast and friendly service. Had the brakes replaced on both my cars here and both on the same day I brought the car in to be inspected. Eddie and Jay are friendly and honest.

I got a groupon to try this place out and its alright. Eddy was very pleasant, the wait wasnt to long considering I didnt have an appointment. The washroom was amazing for a mechanic shop. And they have a keurig. But its kinda far from my house so is not worth the drive for me to go back.

I got my windshield replaced here (first time its ever needed it), and when I picked up my repaired car the rearview was locked in a weird position and five months later, the windshield is completely cracked from dashboard to rearview + radiating out from the sides. I had a mechanic look at it who said it was because of a bad install. $400 down the drain.

Pretty happy with this place. Got an alignment and they figured out what was making the funny noise in my car and fixed it for a reasonable price.

My sons car began to overheat on his way home from Skokie to KY on New Years Day. He had it towed to Sears Automotive. When he went to Sears, they told him they wont touch it since it wont start (whats up with that?). He is currently having it towed to this location. He was told they will get it right in for repairs. Thank you. Ive had my car to Midas in Bowling Green, Ky and now will keep going there.

They said three hours for a wheel alignment. It was actually three hours and 42 minutes. And I even made an appointment(should of taken an hour and a half max). When i questioned the manager, he turned belligerent. Go to any other place or you will regret it.

Worst experience I have ever had while dealing with a car place. I went in to get my oil changed and windshield wipers replaced. They double checked and told me they had replaced my wipers when in fact they had not. They also told me that I needed a new carburetor and that my battery was going to die any day and I needed a new one immediately. When I went to get a second opinion I found out my battery was just fine and instead of a new carburetor which would have cost me $700 all that was wrong was a loose valve. They lie to try to take your money by making up problems that dont exist and dont perform the services you pay for!

Bad service my car was throwing smoke and came in there thinking they know what they were doing but for what so at the end they can tell me they didn’t know what was going on with the car but yet they charge me $2,000 for my bmw is still throwing smoke so I recommend you guys not to go here now if you want to throw your money like that I recommend you go somewhere else and not here

Got sold on an engine flush for my high milage car. After researching engine flushes online, it became immediately apparent that they are a rip-off at best and a procedure that can total cars (particularly high milage cars like mine) at worst. How this place can recommend and perform maintenance on a car that every auto manufacturer and most mechanics expressly recommend against is truly beyond me. Thus far the corporate office has been unresponsive to my complaints, but Ill give them time to rectify the situation before commenting. But as for the shop itself, stay far away if you care about your car or your money.

I had to find a midas in the area because I got mufflers at a midas 5 years ago and they have the lifetime warranty. So, these guys special ordered and installed dual exhaust mufflers, had to fix some rusty exhaust pipe stuff, gave me a free oil change, and charged me a total of 36 bucks. Granted the warranty paid for the mufflers themselves but i was expecting they would charge at least a few hundred for labor and other parts. They were really nice and down to earth - I would give 10 stars if I could and recommend to anyone.

For real...don’t respond.I am not surprised that this business has some positive reviews. I doubt they are genuine reviews anyways. Given the equipment and the technicians/employees this business has, of course they CAN provide all kinds of auto services. What’s surprising is that there are only a few negative reviews. I guess it’s just a matter of time before the negative reviews add up.I am no expert, but I am well aware of the prices for parts and services at different auto locations because of the repairs I got done on my cars over the past 10 years. The two times I was there, I have seen multiple people getting ripped off. I can’t stress this enough: When I say ripped off, I really mean it. Them being lied to about the repairs necessary and the prices, then being cornered and then ripped off. Though it was only $3 in my case, I saw other being lied to and ripped off for significant amount of money, while waiting for the oil change done on my car.My problem is more with the psychotic owner Gene Taylor, than it is with the business.
