Such a great store!! Owner super friendly and great selection.

So, I’ve never actually been in the store (yet!) but I recently won a pair of sandals through a giveaway and I love them! I was picked after a virtual yoga class put on by Zen Yoga Garage to win sandals with soles made of yoga mats! They’re cute and comfy, I would recommend for sure but even better was the kindness and dedication to follow through with delivery by City Sole’s Team Leader Scott. We had some hiccups, details are irrelevant to this review but basically he went above and beyond so this place has good quality shoes and quality employees. Give them your business :) vote with your dollar and support local!

Excellent selection of high quality shoes at fair prices. Staff is super friendly and helpful. I bought a pair of sandals for a trip to Italy earlier this year and they did not disappoint - great recommendation by the staff. They even got the velcro strap on the sandals switched out to a buckle for me in time for my trip.

Definitely the kind of place you want to come in to try stuff on, lots of European brands but the sizing can be so variable. Always keeps the selection fresh though. Scott, the owner, is a trip and a half and definitely worth meeting. Hes been a Wicker Park staple forever, and can really give you the run down of the whole neighborhood. Must be cool with dogs, as theres usually 2 huskies hanging out.

Had a lot of fun browsing in this store. I didn’t actually make a purchase but the owner was great. He pointed out what was on sale and clearance and offered red, white, or rosé wine and espresso while we shopped. He was very knowledgeable about the source of the materials and assured us that items in the shop were fair-trade and sustainably sourced. Two huskies were friendly that they softly spoke “Woo-Woooo” to alert you they desired a treat- which was absolutely hilarious.

My favorite shoe store. the employees know the product theyre selling and can speak confidently about the quality. The prices are high, but your purchasing high quality shoes. They also have amazing sales (buy one get one for nickel???!) frequently!

Not good as expected. Not at all a good product. Quality is very bad. Very cheap quality Iam very disappointed. Poor quality. Lost the confidence in trusting this product.

I am addicted to shoes. I only have about 100 pairs but I am always looking for more.This store is a great little boutique. Lots of local designers, which I love.It is pricey. Most shoes are upwards of $150, but super cute and youre supporting local shopping.The staff was super nice, helpful, etc.

A fixture of Wicker Park, it is just as they advertise--you will find shoes which are the envy of your friends at this shop. The salespeople are helpful without being pushy, and will let you know when the next shipment is expected, in case you didnt find anything the day you stopped in. Comfortable, quality brands with a fashionable edge--such as Coclico--are common staples. The store often seeks out and stocks new shoe lines, and adjusts well to customer response.

Awesome designs....!!!!! They have the latest trends are are very conveniently located. The customer service is good and they perfectly know want we want.They have many imported brands that are hard to find elsewhere.

Worst experience with the owner. We found owner is rude and completely biased with the customers. They dont care for customers. On complaining about the same, owner talked to us as if we are asking the product for free. Very unprofessional and for sure I would never ever recommend this place for anyone.

Hoo boy folks. This just happened a couple hours ago. I’m the only customer in here, and I’m browsing the sale section in the back, so you can’t really see me. This big paunchy white guy, maybe late 40s, tinted shades, looks like the encyclopedia illustration for “80s porn director”, comes in, and starts *screaming* at the one salesgirl in the place, this petite young woman. Apparently she’d been a couple hours late coming in and opening up. The guy must’ve been the owner; among other, more obscene things, he was shrieking about how much money he’d lost that morning.I know running a small business is stressful, some employees can be difficult, yada yada, but seriously, you guys weren’t there. Firing someone is one thing, doing it angrily is another thing (and he did both), but this guy sounded really unhinged, yelling really vulgar hateful stuff at the top of his voice. I don’t care if this girl was the worst employee in the history of wage labor (and she wasn’t, for the record, lateness notwithstanding — she’d just been extremely friendly and helpful showing me around the store), you can’t scream at anyone in a way that makes random bystanders fear for their literal safety.So I come out of the back and tell him that he can’t speak to another person like that no matter what, and this guy starts yelling at *me*. So not only is he being an a******, but he’s actually so deranged that he doesn’t have the wherewithal to tone it down when speaking to a customer. At this point I’m seriously freaked out at his behavior, and he’s much bigger than both of us, and I start moving my hand toward the mace in my bag (and I’m using a backup Google account with less identifying info to write this because seriously, what is this guy’s deal). But the girl and I both wisely leave, with him screaming at our backs, and I walk her to her car, her crying and me trying to reassure her that whatever job she gets next can’t possibly be worse than working for that guy.Oh, and the actual shoes were mad overpriced for the quality and like five years out of style to boot, so, y’know, good luck with that.

BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!! WRONG SHOES, BOUNCED REFUND CHECK!ordered shoes online. paid by PayPal. was sent wrong shoes. Sent them back per City Soles instructions. Return was verified and received. 2 weeks went by without replacement or refund. Called store was told they did not know how to do a refund on PayPal and that the owner would send a check. 10 days later a check arrived. The check Bounced. Upon further online investigation City Soles was evicted from their location during this time frame. They now however allegedly maintain an online only retail presence. DONT DO IT!

#chitequilatasting I came here for an event that CheekyChicago was having here recently...It was very expensive here -- but thats not suprising since it is way up North...the staff were friendly and I had questions about one of their products that they had on their shelves, she quickly came to my attention and answered all my questions. I feel paid attention to and didnt feel like i had to wait long for some service. Its a very warehouse feel inside - there is concrete floors and very greyish colors inside. It looked cool with their motorcycle/scooter inside the place. it was an interesting store with shoes, jewelry and womens apparel like purses and scarves.

The first time I set foot in City Soles was when my mom dragged me in. I was 10 years old and still had a few years to grow into those shoes Id never seen anything like before, nor was I aware of the passion, (maybe even addiction) that would develop in the years to come for SHOES. While living in Spain for a few years I learned to appreciate shoes on an entirely different level. The quality, design, and creativity, combined with their attention to comfort when it comes to their shoes is exceptional . After moving back to the United States from Europe I was THRILLED to know that I had City Soles to still keep me connected to the inovative shoe world of Spanish designers like Chie Mihara, Vialis, Neosens, Wonders, Art Shoes, etc. City Soles has always been ahead of its time, and the owner has an uncanny eye for edgy, yet elegant shoes for women as well as men. He travels around the world to countries like Spain and handpicks shoes, (in my opinion pieces of art), that youd never find in the United States. Not to mention just the experience of being at City Soles is another pleasure all together. Everyone who works there is hip, and outgoing, and they know their product as if it were their own. You walk into that store feeling as if youve walked onto a set, and youre the star. They care about their clientele, and want them to look good, so theyre honest. Ill never forget the time I couldnt decide whether or not to get a pair of shoes I adored but thought might be too small, and the person who was helping me told me to wait it out for something else because I wouldnt be happy with them. I ended up going back a month later and getting the coolest pair of Chi Mihara pumps which I wear ALL year round. When you shop at City Soles, you shop QUALITY. In other words, sometimes mothers really do know best.

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE. Returned shoes that didnt fit and OVER ONE YEAR LATER, STILL NO REFUND!!!!!!!! MULTIPLE EMAILS SENT AND STILL NOTHING. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM CITY SOLES AGAIN.
