Came to do an Amazon (online) return. Took 90 seconds! Great! Smiley staff. They did take out their coffee shop though … large electronic/gadget section. I’ve always loved their cover facing book shelves! Also if you’re looking for a deep “deep cut” of a book.. this isn’t it. The store selects top 50 or so from Amazon for each genre. But for casual readers this is it 👌🏼

I want to open with the idea the staff at this store are always very friendly, attentive, and helpful. The store is always tidy, and I have never felt like I would have to look very hard to find someone to assist me. Five stars for the staff. That being said, this could only be loosely described as a bookstore. The stores book selection appears to be stocked based on Amazon online book sales, with reader reviews from the web store under the title displays. A good 30 to 45% of the store is filled with Amazon brand tech, Echo displays, and other assorted items that seem completely unrelated to books. If you are looking for a well-rounded bookstore, go elsewhere. If youre looking for an in person version of the Amazon website with friendly faces attached, this is your spot.

Lost my driver’s license in this store, and luckily Dina was working! After being loads of fun to talk about books with, Dina really went the extra mile. She remembered me when I called the store hours later to see if they had my license. Thank you Dina! Such a friendly staff member!

Came here expecting to quickly drop off an Amazon return but got sucked in and ended up staying an hour!! The store is very clean and well put, so many book options as well a nice Children’s section and many other amazon deals such as cooking items and electronics. Wanted to walk out with so many items I had to stop myself. Will definitely be back!

A really great place to shop for books and electronics. The store is clean, well laid out, and has friendly staff.Youll find interesting technology here like RING, wireless headsets, Bose glasses, tablets, and laptops. The book section has all of the latest books. The book section even makes people that arent interested in books, kind of want to start reading. There are even a few toys in the stores that are popular for the season.The check out experience was quick and easy. The only issue we encountered was 1 product we wanted was priced incorrectly. We thought we were getting a deal, but the price was wrong, so we didnt buy the product.Amazon Prime Members get discounts on many of the products. I saw a discount of 40% on one item.

I like to support local business, and although Amazon is a behemoth of a company, they do fit a need within the community. I like that I can return certain online purchases here (often without needing packaging), and that its easy to know what is there and where. I was skeptical when they initially opened a coffee shop inside as well, but because of the competing businesses in the area I am thankful they closed it and converted the space to more display area.

I got my new kindle there. Will definitely go back for some books for my grandson

Nice store to come to do book watching. I rarely buy books from Amazon, but they have a great selection here so I always leave this store with a new inspiration of what to buy next in my local book store. Its also a pretty nice meeting point and go for dinner from here

This store does not have a lot of books to pick from, I think they have to be a 4.5 or higher on Amazon to even be considered for the store. With that said, I saw a lot of very interesting books that I normally wouldnt see at other book stores and I think this is a great place to browse for books that were already vetted by people that shipped on Amazon.The checkout experience was pretty neat as well, you can scan a QR code while in line and then when you get to the cash register they will scan your phone and you can pay with the payment method already setup with Amazon, this is also how you get Prime pricing.Probably a quarter to a third of the store is taken up by Amazon electronics which can be nice you want to play with the new Kindles or tablets, but may seem a little excessive to some.Overall go here and check it out. There are bookstores with a wider selection but I enjoyed the selection and could have read most of the books there.

Its nice and easy to follow layout. They sell lots of electronics and not all by Amazon. With each book theres a description and the rating from the website. Theres no prices you have to use your phone. If youre a Prime member you get the Prime price. Staff is super friendly

THIS PLACE IS SO COOL. When I went to Chicago a few years ago, me and my mom stopped in here to check it out and we both loved it. It’s filled with so many cool gadgets and books. We both sat down and started reading 😂 Quite a neat store. I hope to visit another one.

I used this store as a package drop off for a return, but the store was beautiful and inviting I couldn’t help but look around. I was impressed by the lighting of each shelf. It also sort of felt like a tech store, with multiple displays of Amazon products.

Great clean place to really spend time to find out what you want to read next. Love how they have many other top selling items and electronics that you can buy along side the books. Also ask if there are ever any store promotions! You can also use this location as a pick-up and online-return spot.

Its a beautiful space and they also have a coffee bar selling stumptown roasters and a neat selection of teas from rishi. You will also find some gadgets, stationaries, gifts and more along with their fire, echo and Kindle brands

Everyones really helpful and friendly. Easily made a return of items I purchased online within only a few minutes. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. Parking can be a hassel. Otherwise, it was great! 👍🏾

Beautiful store that is well taken care of. They have a great childrens section and a wide range of subjects. However, there really isnt a huge selection on any particular subject. They carry a bit of everything. i honestly wish they would take down some of the Amazon electronics and make room for more books.

The store is cool but for all that Amazon has to offer on the technical side it gets a huge fail when it comes to common sense and decency. You cant pay with cash! I find this unacceptable because although Im blessed enough to have a credit card some people arent and this practice prevents the less fortunate from buying BOOKS of all things. I cant support this.

Excellent! I needed to make a return. It was painless and very quick. I had gone online and gotten a QR code and showed it to the associate. Done and done.I also was able to get two books for my daughter with a same day discount coupon.

Amazon bookstore serves its purpose but its too integrated and the reps are too aggressive. I prefer something less corporate strategy minded. But its great for dropping off returns.

Extremely clean, welcomed as we entered and got the full dissertation about the store the sale and the social distancing. 4 or 5 on the floor but 1 at the register with a line of 5 people waiting...seemed unequal. Also would suggest stop the sales and upsell pitches when slammed and just get through the lines....we almost left with buying because it took so long.

There was also a very good childrens section which, as a teacher, I found a good selection of literature to use for school.

Amazons customer service is only surpassed by the historical Marshall Fields customer service.They are human and sometimes get it wrong, however they generally more than make up for it.This is a good place to go for a last minute gift shopping stop.

A real find to locate a Amazon brick-and-mortar store. Recently expanded with the elimination of a coffee shop, the store carries more merchandise than ever. A very large electronics section that offers a hands-on experience to try before you buy. Restrooms located in the back are clean and modern. There is a very large staff that is friendly and anxious to assist. The location right near the Brown line in the very desirable Southport shopping area.

I loved this place!! Especially the stump town coffee roasters inside the store.. The book store is good with some best sellers.. but they need to stock up with more science and technology books.. Staff in the store as well as the coffeeshop are really friendly. You can come here to study.. grad a cup of coffee or tea and spend some time. Peaceful place. 5* for coffeeshop though.

This store used to be something special. A place for families and book enthusiasts to go to have a wonderful experience.It has since been remodeled and all of the character and charm went out the door. It’s clear that the Amazon corporation is not interested in their customers or the neighborhoods they set their stores. They’ve trade in a warm, inclusive atmosphere for a cold and off-putting staff.

I came here to return a damaged book from Amazon, but stayed to browse the books they had for sale. The store was very clean, well stocked, and not too crowded on a Sunday afternoon. The line to check-out moved fast, and the staff was very friendly. The price of the books drops instantly if you have a prime membership, so these new books were extremely affordable.

On the plus side, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful, the store is spotlessly clean, and the coffee shop is a great addition to the neighborhood (which, to be fair, already has a large number of coffee shops).On the down side, the selection of books is really limited. Its basically an airport bookstore, focusing on bestsellers with very little depth. The hardware (Kindles, Alexa devices, fire sticks) takes up a disproportionately large amount of the store.But, if Im looking for a popular book, Ill pop in and always enjoy a quick browse.

Not the best in terms of book selection, there is a lack of variety in some sections, but fairly good bookstore overall. Best benefits those, who have Prime membership - there are some reasonable discounts available on most of the books. Great customer service 👍

Dec 14, 2019 I went to this location to return 8 items, which were from 3 orders I purchased online. All 8 items fit neatly in one box. I asked for a receipt but was told none was needed. Only 2 items, which were 2 of the orders, were registered as returned. 6 items, which were in one order, were not registered as returned. I was charged for them despite returning them.

I love this place! I only buy books off Amazon but I babysit twin girls and when the weather is not playground friendly we come here to read. They love it and so do I. The kids section is friendly and comfy so the girls can pick a book and hang out while I can do the same in the adults section. The staff is always friendly

If you want to go to a brick and mortar book store, this is it. They only sell 4-5 Star books at very low prices. Otherwise, buy on line save have shipped to your house, or just download to your Kindle.I go there at least 4-6 times a year, and walk put with a lot of paperbacks.

Nothing, NOTHING beats actually holding a book in your hand. This is my second time in an Amazon brick and mortar shop and its a well-organized book feast filled with bestsellers and unique offerings. I feel the same about BN and indie shops. Theres room for all of them. A well read society is a smart one.

I went to get a Kindle for my fiance because we didnt have time to wait for shipping. Its very strange to me that they do not allow you to buy online and pick up in the store but they do allow you to check out using your Prime account. That said the store was clean and they had plenty of Kindles in stock which I appreciated

Really neat concept! Reminds me of an airport bookstore in terms of book selection. Good kids books section, with everything visible. Have neat high tech gadgets and plenty of Kindle-related goodies. Just seems like a casual drop-in place more than somewhere to go if you are looking for a specific book. (Go online for that!)

Always a great place to find something new and under the radar to read. I never leave disappointed. make sure to get a coffee from the cafe and if youre local, they offer a punch card for a free drink.

My dad recently suffered a stroke. I needed some advice on how to turn his tablet into a text to speech device as his speech was impaired. I was shown the way to turn my dads tablet into a device to help him communicate, and for that I am insanely grateful. Thank you a million times for your understanding and knowledge.

We love having a local Amazon store. We visit the Seattle (University Village) store every time we are in town and were so happy to hear that Amazon decided to set up shop in Chicago as well. Not a huge selection, but ample kids books and more than sufficient opportunities to entertain the kids on a rainy day. If you’re a Prime member (do it!), you pay the online price in store, which is convenient if you or your clan find a book you’d like to take home.

As an avid reader and fan of Amazon, this store is fantastic. I am somebody that still prefers to read an actual book with pages va an e-reader. I grew up visiting bookstores and there is a something about them that feels nostalgic. As an amazon prime member I buy almost all books online and this store is a great middle ground. You can verify if a book is in stock online or go in and browse through the shelves. They match all amazon prime prices and stock the highest rated books online. Will be spending a lot more time here!

Heartless and soulless it may be but the staff are helpful, the stock popular and up-to-date, and the store clean, bright, convenient, and well-stocked. I have no complaints--it was easy to make a return and buy a book I wanted quickly and with little effort and sometimes that is exactly what I need.

Theres a place in my life for both Amazon and my local book store and Amazon knows and understands that. The selection is limited in books, but the if you like ____, youll like ____ is actually pretty good. You cant beat paying Prime prices with the immediacy of buying something in store - just make sure you NEED an amazon fire 7 and not just, you know, like to have one. Coffee shop here is top notch and baristas and Amazon employees are helpful and kind.

A great looking shop with all of amazons gadgets available for you to look at and even touch.As an avid amazon shopper never have I been more eager to be in a store. Not only could I get hands on with the Alexa family of devices from amazon, I could see and touch their tablets and even a few choice computers they had on their show floor. There was even a small section of amazon basics, a line of products that I often order and find functional.The store is small and instead of having a huge selection the store seemed to favor having one or two books for most topics and presented in an appealing way on the shelves besides cramming their shelves full. I wish I had one of these book stores in my home town.

Fairly convenient place to return items even though there is no parking and they need some.

I wanted to hate this place so badly but I actually did like it. It wont ever have the most extensive book selection but it will probably have what most people are looking for right now. It has an odd assortment of books, gadgets, games, etc but nothing felt out of place or cluttered. Overall the store experience was very positive. Just make sure to go visit an independent bookstore once in a while too :)

Really like the vibe of this store. You wonder still how Amazon killed regular local retail companies and now they are doing that themselves. Not fair in many ways but it shows what capitalism can do. For now, I like the idea to be able to touch and look at a product before I buy it. You know Ill go online to see if I can find better prices, though. Lol!
