Had them repair a tattered cockpit cover that came with a 1998 Sundancer I bought this year. Super nice people and I love that they haven’t jacked up prices even with demand being so high for any type of boat work right now. Even went the extra mile and replaced snaps that I didn’t realize were missing. They also did a complete camper canvas replacement for my slip neighbor’s early 90’s SR Express Cruiser; turned out flawless and she was very happy with it.
Vince and his team do great work. They reupholstered all of our vinyl boat seats a couple of years ago and just completed an excellent job on a new canvas cover for our cruisers yacht that looks and fits perfectly. Id recommend Vince and his team
Any marine (or even non-marine application) upholstery work or custom cover work, Chicago Marine Canvas is the place to go. Several boat yards utilize their services, and that’s exactly how I was referred to them. Vince is solid, detail oriented, and delivers a superior product. On my new boat, they have completed a custom bow cushion cover, upholstery repair, and will soon be creating a custom helm cover. They even fabricated a porch swing cover for me to protect a new porch swing we installed, for during the winter months. They are very reasonably priced, accurate with what they promise and deliver with respect to cost and time, and I’m certain that they stand by their work.Great to have a high quality company like this in Chicago to take care of boaters!
Vince has been extremely helpful and easy to deal with the entire time. We ordered two different covers for our boat. First a small one and then, after seeing the result, a winter cover. Each time we have been very happy with the result. Vince even went the extra mile (literally) for us when we relocated our boat on the other side of the lake. We highly recommend Chicago Marine Canvas.
Redesigned and fitted new front Strataglass on my 2005 Sea Ray 460. FANTASTIC JOB... Much better design than Sea Ray came up with. Can now unzip and attach entire sections to cabin ceiling. Job was done accurate and on time.
Last year Vince created a really quality mooring cover for my 27 foot center console. They were very thorough in making sure the cover was designed the way I wanted it, and did multiple fittings to make sure it was exact. Over a year later, I had a couple snaps that had broken from heavy use, and Vince fixed them no questions asked. I e-mailed asking for advice on what iI should do to replace them, and literally the day after I reached out he had someone to my boat to fix the snaps that had broken. I would definitely recommend Chicago Marine Canvas for any boat canvas needs.
I contacted Chicago Marine Canvas because we recently had an outdoor kitchen area built in the backyard of our home.Vince quickly returned my call, asking me what I had in mind for it.I needed something that could cover the whole area all year round. He suggested what types of fabric would be good for keeping our new kitchen dry and protected all year round: rain, sleet, or snow.He even came up with an idea of adding zippers where the grill was, so we could access it easily, no matter what the weather was like, keeping everything else protected, if we just wanted to use the grill real quick. He made sure to add the proper hardware, to ensure that the cover wont blow away in the harsh Chicago winds.Overall, Im extremely satisfied with our new custom cover and have referred a few friends to them since. If you are looking for a high quality, custom ANYTHING I believe Vince and the team are the right people to go to!
Ive used this company on three boats in 5 years. I have had nothing but success on all projects. Very small to large.Great work and always timely .Keep up the good work!
Vince at Chicago Marine Canvas provided top notch service through the whole process. In less than 3 hours of my inquiry, I received a follow up phone call obtaining all the necessary information for my budgetary quote. From there, Vince scheduled a time to come out and, using his software based measuring unit, he took measurement from each snap on the boat. This gave him the exact measurements to be able to provide me with a formal quote (which was very close to the budgetary). Once I provided him with the color canvas, thread, and trim we wanted, we had a brand new, custom fit cover in about 1.5 - 2 weeks. Fits like a glove and I decided to go with the higher quality thread to ensure longevity. They will listen to what you want, measure and fit your boat in the harbor and deliver a quality product for about half the price of other upholstery shops. Very satisfied with my interaction and purchase.
I wish my experience was the same as Chris!Vince was hired to do a job. He did visit the boat, but did not complete the task he was hired to do. As a result, an estimated $4500 worth of damage was done. When I asked him if he would help with the repairs, he denied and lied. Then he halted work on another project.I tried to call, left messages and have him complete this and other projects despite my dissatisfaction with his response to a problem, but he has ignored my calls. Typical of many service providers here in Chicago. Extremely undependable.UPDATE: Vince, you did not discuss anything with me, multiple times. Actually, never mentioned it once. More lies and denies. Thanks for demonstrating yet again what type of person potential customers have to deal with.
Quick repair for a reasonable price!
