Best chicken food at a great price! Theyve got the full pellets, real oyster shells, nutri corn, and black oil sunflower seeds. My chickens are so glad I shop at Belmont Feed&Seed.

Belmont Feed & Seed has been around for a long time. The store is kept extremely clean. We were greeted by Sam. Sam loaded us up with some quality hay, that is packaged in plastic and has a golden hue to it. He immediately swept up any stray hay that fell on the floor.The owner was sitting at the counter in front of the store and was very pleasant, and knowledgeable, and was easy to talk with. The whole experience was wonderful. Stop in if you are in the market for some baby chicks, ducks, turkeys, straw, feed or just need a little information on how to get started.

This is a jem in the city! I went with the two grandchildren. The owners are the sweetest couple, they talked to the girls and made everyone very comfortable. They have everything that one would need for any kind of bird. My daughter has chickens, we purchased the feed. Highly recommend this store!

Went there for the first time for a bale of straw for the cat colonies I manage and it was $12.95 for a nice tightly blind and wrapped in plastic so the cat doesnt get to sloppy. The straw is great and recommended for bedding inside the cat houses I make for them so they can have a place to get warm over the winter. The guy was so nice and carried it out without asking since and put it right in the truck.

Fantastic owners. Very knowledgeable and kind! Wonderful resource for Birds owners, chicken raisers and bee keepers! Well stocked, supportive of local community efforts, teaching children about bee keeping and birds. Their puppy is adorable and a very friendly little dog that loves to greet guests. Variety of seed, supplies and tools! Highly recommended. Very fair prices, limited parking, street parking is available more across the way and on the side. Some live birds for sale as well.

Worst shop ever the man sell to me one baby chicks for $45 and I got confused when I went back home I called another store( the feed store) they are the best, they sell the same for $5.99, then I called Belmont store again he told me that he sell it for $15, he is a scammer, thieves, I advise people to go to The Feed Store they are straight

In June 2020 purchased 3 healthy chicks and some food from Belmont Feed & Seed. Staff and owners were very knowledgeable and helpful. One of the chicks turned out to be a rooster, which is not allowed in our village. Belmont feed took the rooster back for which I am very grateful. I recommend this store and it is an interesting place to visit with all the live animals Thank you.

We needed hay - they have hay. Wish we could have chickens in our yard. If we ever have room we know where to go. Racing pigeons. Suet. Theyve been there 31 years. The birds looked content, clean.

Love the store and the people that run it. When I need anything for my animals I just call and they have it already up front . I can make the charge over the phone and they bring it out and put it in the back of my car.

These pet ID tags are the best!! The information on the tags does not wear off or get scuffed up. When the dogs play in the mud/dirt and get the tags dirty, they easily clean up with soap and water. I will order again when I want new tags in a different color.

Good products good service and reasonable prices. Have a few hens from here and they are happy and healthy.Raising wildlife like poultry is not clean or easy but this place is super well run. Always clean no nasty smells and the animals appear to be in good health and not in distress. Seen much worse in corporate pet stores. Convenient location always happy to do business with this store.

Great place to get anything for chickens! Organic feed, scratch, feeders and waterers. You can also pick up full grow and baby chickens! I love that its local. Family owned and very friendly staff. Big box stores dont have what you need for chickens but this great local store definitely does.

This is a great local spot for bird seed of all types. The staff is knowledgeable friendly and it is super clean. The prices are very good. I bought a 40 lb bag of backyard bird seed for $18.00 with tax. Its top quality. Stop in! You will not be disappointed. Shout out to Lidia she is amazing. Yes there is parking available.

As a Chicagoland chicken keeper, this place is crucial to my success. From buying my chicks to making sure I have all of the tools and feed that I need in order to raise them up to be great layers and meat birds. Lidia is amazing with customer serivce, and remembers all of her regulars as if shes grown up next door to them. Her husband is just as knowledgeable as Lidia is, while hes manning the register. I love coming here and just looking around, because theres always something that I never knew I needed, but I end up getting and it makes my chicken keeping life easier. I also pick up bales of straw for our urban farm needs, and it helps a ton! The prices are competitive & I love it when chick buying season comes around. Be careful though - chicken math always wins and you end up with more fluffy butts than you thought you ever needed. Spoiler alert: You need them all. You can also buy guineas, pigeons, bee hives and beekeeping accessories as well as feed, bedding and medication. All in all, its a one stop shop for those of us who love birds and bees.

Um a kid that pays 4 pounds of bird food or 8 pound and its always o good deal not like other pet stores and my 3 parakeets love the food and the bird nest perches water bottles nesting material food millet are really good quality and have a lots of vitamins.

Our go to store for peanuts, in 50lb bags, as we feed them to the wild birds. The chickadees and the woodpeckers love the peanuts that we get here. The owners are very helpful and friendly. Theres a parking space in front of the store for quick purchases.

Great owners and staff will help you with anything you need and find it for you in their huge inventory. They know everything about everything. Someone will even help get it to your car if you need. Stop in and see their cute little dog, their parrots, chicks, macaws, pigeons, and more if youre just looking.

Very nice people and helpful. Im from Rockford IL But if I know Im going into Chicago or close to this store I buy pigeon feed and other odds and ends from them. I try to buy enough to last till the next trip. Its hard to find good food at a good price.

Belmont Feed and Seed is the real deal. The right products, good advice and nice down-home folks that run the joint. We go there a few times per year to get supplies for our small apiary and they never disappoint with the right products, fair price and good advice.

I go to the store to get bales of straw for my muddy backyard that my two dogs crack into the house. There is a couple who seem to run the place so nice so helpful good people with a little dog that says hello to everyone theres live birds theres beekeeping tools dares how to raise chickens and I never have actually gone to the back of the store tell theres way more than even I know...

Charming and full of birds! Highly recommend towards bird and even fish/reptile owners to look into for quality products that are in a great price range, unlike what what most commercial petshops offer.

The couple that runs this store is a blessing to our entire comunity of back yard chicken keepers.

I have to edit my review and its sad that I do, my intentions were to buy some more chickens among other things but, unfortunately the owners wife was upset and rude because I returned chicken feed that had some webbing in it with dead moths, of course things like this happened and I completely understand which is why I went back about a week later to buy more feed from this business, but there she was again with a horrible attitude because I wanted fresh food, Needless to say I wont be going back. I am the type of person that I like to take of my chickens and try to give them the best. I usually spend a good chunk of cash there and honestly with her attitude Ill just go elsewhere.Best of luck for anyone who has to deal with this.

I am in retail and know how much reviews help. I was told by a friend to come here for chicken feed. Pricing was great and service even better. My 50lb bag of feed was carried out to the car for me. When I arrived home, I discovered a small issue that was resolved without any questions asked in a very professional manner. Will definately refer to others.

Was appalled to learn this feed store also sells baby animals such as baby chicks and goslings. This is unnecessary and shows they have no problem profiting off innocent animals as if they were mere property and not a living being.

I have been coming here for all my chicken needs. They have all sorts of feed, grains and supplements for whatever situation. The owners are knowledgable and have been so much help when I first started raising backyard chickens in Chicago . I still shop here and will continue to do so

Very good service, they were really nice and took care of me quickly. I purchased straw for cat shelters and received farm sized bales, not those tiny things at Wal-Mart, pricing was excellent and the straw was in plastic. They do offer online ordering and in store pick-up. Definitely both returning and recommending.

I was a very loyal customer and never left without buying 50 lb bags of chicken feed on numerous occasions including silkie chicks and they would always rush me you dont rush someone thats picking out chicks when theres a bunch of them all huddled together and theyre different you got to make sure youre getting the right kind. I would always ask them if they had bearded silkies and they were befuddled because they dont even know what that is when they have chickens they dont even know what kind they are they do not know how to run a business and on top of that they had some beautiful silkie chicks in the back out in the hot sun with absolutely no water and no food and they look so dehydrated I felt so bad for them and asked her if I could buy them I really wanted to save them from those evil people turns out they passed and I told her what she was doing was evil she got so offended honestly I wish I would have called animal control on them and we bought a rooster that we noticed was in a cardboard box in the hot sun with no food or water. Im so glad I got him he has gained weight and gotten bigger since weve got him and hes big beautiful and is now a father
