A quaint, lovely little bagel stop offering a good selection of sandwich and coffee/warm beverage options. My husband and I both got the Fisherman sandwich, his with the jalapeño cheddar bagel, and mine with the everything bagel. Both were very delicious! Definitely ask for extra capers on this sandwich though. It needs that salty, briny kick to bring that extra level of goodness to the experience, and I found the sandwich a little lacking there, so I asked for extra. And the drink I got was to die for! Definitely consider trying the bourbon vanilla chai latte if you stop in!Be prepared for a decent chunk of a bill though. Our sandwiches were about $12 each, and my drink was $5, plus decent tax, so our total was around $32.All aside, this was a lovely spot! Id definitely give it another try in the future.
Very chill environment, staff is friendly and helpful and bagels are amazing. Coffee is good too! I love this place a lot.
Sandwiches are great if you aren’t in a rush. Lines always out of control and you have to wait awhile. This past time, I waited an additional 45 minutes after waiting 15 minutes because someone accidentally took my order. I understand…it happens…but they should’ve just moved my order to the front and sent me on my way.Just something to be aware of and maybe for management to take a look at
Tried this place for the first time yesterday and I’m sorry I didn’t know about it sooner. The lox bagel absolutely hits the spot! Can’t wait to try more of their menu!
It’s fine if this is your first house made bagel and only have Thomas’s or even Panera to compare it to. Lox spread is off putting, why is there Parmesan and lemon in it? Bagels are fine.
This place is my go to bagel shop in Chicago. Everything is great and the workers are always friendly. I have had every sandwich they make and can recommend every single one of them. Their rewards program is awesome as well.
Excellent service, atmosphere and prices. The vegetarian breakfast bagel was delish!
Seriously the best bagels and coffee Ive ever had, way better than Panera or Starbucks. Youve got to try the Jalapeño Bagel with Smoked Salmon Cream Cheese it is ridiculously good, along with their Brown Sugar Latte.
I love The Bageler and probably order from them once a week as I live and work in the neighborhood! However, the last few times I’ve been incredibly disappointed by the lack of cream cheese on my bagel. It pains me to not give them a full five stars or completely positive review, but look at that bagel!
I LOVE THIS PLACE. Such a hidden gem in Lincoln Park. The bagels are unmatched. I adore the people who work here— they bring such a great energy to the space. Please tip them well! Baristas rely on those tips, and every little bit helps.I had an everything bagel with garlic chive cream cheese, with their genmaicha (my favorite tea of all time). I also had their blueberry muffin, which wasn’t too sweet! It had just the right flavor and a delightful taste.I work very closely, so I love revisiting as much as I can before heading into the office. SUPPORT LOCAL!
So good. Bagels are super tasty, and the house made spreads are to die for. Reasonably priced, and good coffee.Other notes:- Street parking- indoor seating with about 10 tables- printer- free WiFi
Pretty solid. My boyfriend and I both got the bageler. It was overall satisfying. We did find the bacon to be very thin pieces that werent crisp. The chipotle sauce was also a bit more sweet than expected and the bagels didnt taste super fresh. But still overall satisfying.
My favorite restaurant discovery of 2020! The bagel sandwiches are always fresh and delicious—my favorite is the Woodsman—the coffee and chai are excellent, and I love that their delivery materials are all recyclable. Highly recommend!
Wow!! You gotta try this place!! Great coffee and the scones, homemade bagels and croissants are to die for!!! Delicious!!!
It just wasnt that good. Sub par salmon. Ok bagel.
My favorite coffee shop in Lincoln park. Service is always friendly and quick unless they are super busy. Sometimes hard to get a table which really sucks. Always versatile and awesome music. Get the everything bagel wth garlic chive cream cheese. Bageler sandwich is also really good. Yes, Ive tried most of the menu and loved it. Although I havent tried any of their lunches...yet. Delicious selection of tea too.
A little disappointed. The bagels were ok. They were out of everything bagels so I got the poppyseed bagel toasted with butter and my daughter hot cinnamon raisin with plain cream cheese. The texture of the bagels were good but they had funky taste to them. Kinda sweet but not really. Couldnt tell if it was the butter or the bagel on mine. We both had lattes and they were just ok too. Mine tasted like it was made with something other than milk so I didnt really care for it.
Great food and a great environment to relax for a moment!
Just got breakfast delivered from this restaurant. VERY good handmade bagels and breakfast sandwiches, with more flavor than youd expect. Highly recommend.
This is my favorite place for bagels! Everything is so good
The fisherman was excellent! As well as their coffee. I had the vanilla latte 12oz w/ oat milk. It was creamy and the espresso was very smooth. Highly recommend and will come again.
Super cute place! The decor and the atmosphere is so welcoming. Mostly full of college students so the wifi is excellent and the outlets are plently. However, the turnover rate is pretry low so if you see a table CLAIM IT. They dont have a large area but they do the best with what they got. Every table has beautiful local flowers on them.As for the food, WONDERFUL. I got the everything bagel gardener sandwich and I was a huge fan. It was easily in my top 5 of bagels. Would definitely come here again, but know the line gets pretty long during rush times and you will have a wait (but oh god its worth it). Also their lattes have the cutest art.5/5 will be returning
Great bagels and a wide drink selection! The atmosphere is cozy and above all the staff is really friendly. If you are in the Lincoln Park area its a nice place to make a quick stop at or sit down and work as I like to do.
Great place for breakfast.Everyone there are super friendly.
First off. Great looking place, and great pastries and bagels. But holy cow... possibly the worst coffee I have had in a long time. Tasted like soap almost. Destroyed the entire experience. I drink my coffee black, so the only thing that could have been bad in my drink was the coffee.
The Bagelers Coffeehouse has some of my favorite bagels in the city, and makes good lattes as well. This is three stars because the service is consistently slow. Even when there are few people in line, the wait is painstakingly long for a bagel with cream cheese. I have waited upwards of 20 minutes for a simple order and usually have to ask for an update. With these wait times, especially during COVID, people crowd in front waiting for their order, which feels a bit uneasy. Other takeout restaurants have clear social distancing markers or ask people to wait outside. If they were to improve their service and develop stronger COVID processes, it would be a go-to breakfast spot.
Great bagels and cream cheese selection and coffee drinks. Their in person service is slow, as others have mentioned, and their website does not work for online orders, so youll need to place through a third party.
Amazing little spot. I had their breakfast sandwich and it was very tasty! It had this really good chipotle sauce and the bacon was nice and thick. The caramel latte was to die for. The employees were very nice too. I will be going back soon!
Their veggie bagel sandwich is to die for 😍
This is the best bagel I’ve had in Chicago.
This place is a personal favorite of mine as a Chicago college student who always needs an affordable place to eat. The pretzel bagel is so tasty and their coffees are delicious!
Ordered take out via google which used postmates. The bageler & chai tea latte were delicious. Their website was giving me issues with ordering at first. Friendly staff also
From amazing to terrible in a week. Prices were increased this week which maybe I could understand however the food quality and quantity are also lower. Bring back the good food!
The maple scone was sugary sweet and dense. The chocolate croissant was a crispy brown. The latte was a solidly good one. The atmosphere was very relaxed and the staff were very attentive bidding good bye to everyone as they left. A good place to leisurely talk with friends or to get some computing done. No couches or soft chairs.
Absolutely great. Their bagels are to notch, their croissants are heavenly and fluffy, their spreads are varied and flavorful, and the breakfast sandwiches are some of the best Ive had. If I had any complaint, Im not a fan of their coffee, but since coffee really varies at most places as well as enjoyment varies for people, I dont think hold it against them.
Fantastic bagels, but this place gets backed up with walk in orders on the weekend. Order ahead and once inside, go to the window on the left to pick up your order.
These bagels are delicious! We are bagel connoisseurs and I highly recommend.
Food is so good!! Great hospitality!
I am a frequent customer, but have been repeatedly disappointed by the consistent failure of The Bagelers to maintain adequate health and safety precautions with respect to the COVID-19 pandemic. The employees generally wear masks, but often one or another can be seen with the mask not covering the nose, including while preparing food, and I have also witnessed one employee having a long conversation with her mask off while standing at the food preparation station, immediately above the trays of food! There is no adequate supervision or guidance, and the staff generally disregard what we all know by now to be the minimum basic standards to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. In addition, the tables have been re-opened with no seating restrictions, and while others wait for their food, they are left to stand around looming over the seating areas. If I see these examples of irresponsible disregard for the publlic health crisis again, I will call 311 on the spot.
As far as lox bagels in Chicago go, this one is pretty middle of the road. They got the basics down well and its one of the more fair priced lox bagels in the city, which is something I think you have to take into consideration.
The Bageler had a solid selection of bagels, coffee and tea to choose from at reasonable prices - loved the garlic and chive spread! The atmosphere is really cozy and great for small groups to meet or do work. My order came out quickly despite them being understaffed and the workers were very polite, definitely enjoyed the experience.
Freshest bagels in town. The garlic and chive cream cheese is amazing. It gets pretty busy on weekends and during the summer but its well worth the wait.
The bagelerss food are very good but way too expensive.. Also the people working there are not nice at all, they do not even smile. An other problem, the door does not close and its freezing inside by the door, it was already like this last winter so it should have been fix since a while.
The best coffee Ive had in this city
The bagels are good especially if you like terrible service and waiting forever. This place has the worst service in all of Chicago. We placed an order 45 minutes before pick up (since we’ve been here before and know they take forever to toast and smear cream cheese on a bagel). We arrive and there is 15 people also waiting for pickup with no one ordering from the cashier and waited another 20 minutes. Once we finally got the attention of an employee who was extremely rude, they gave us the wrong order. On top of that, you cannot call and let them know that they gave us the wrong order.
This coffeehouse is great. It can get pretty busy on the weekends, but well worth the wait. The service is great too and they always are smiling and happy. I recommend their breakfast bagel sandwiches!!
Get the hot giardiniera cream cheese and the jalapeño cheddar bagel!!!
Overpriced for terrible food.I guess five star rating is fake.
The Farmer bagel sandwich is amazing. Great food. Kitschy atmosphere. Staff was super friendly.
I have something for bagels, but theyre not easy to come by back home. The bagelers serves an amazing selection of bagels, with solid options for the vegetarians and vegans among us. Special shout-out to the latte and croissant, better than they make them in Paris. Five stars baby.
The Bagelers Coffeehouse serves tons of bagels, coffee, and breakfast eats. Everything there is quite cheap as well! I got a bagel sandwich and a latte for under $10. It was delicious and very enjoyable. The cozy atmosphere is very welcoming and the seating is arranged quite well. Free water cups and great music top it all off. I love this place and recommend it to any bagel or coffee lovers!
Nice place to sit and get some work done
Great bagels and the woman behind the counter, Mia, is super nice.
Over $8 (w tax) for a bacon egg and cheese on a bagel, ridiculous
This is by far my favorite bagel coffee shop. Pretty upscale and classy with very good quality everything. The sandwiches are good, the pastries are good, the drinks are good, but the smoked salmon cream cheese is not to be missed! :) They have a tiny space to sit outdoors on the sidewalk when the weather permits if youre lucky enough to get there first. The staff is really cool too!
Best place for bagels, croissants and pastries in Chicago! They are made fresh every night and their spreads are house-made. I cant get enough of the coffee shop. I highly recommend it!
This is a great place for some fresh bagels. We typically go here every weekend for our bagel fix. They have a great selection and theyre bagel sandwiches are awesome too. Coffee and tea are also good here.
Best bagels Ive ever had! Fresh made bagels and spreads. Casual coffee shop atmosphere with a friendly staff. We regularly make the 20+ minute trek to come here on weekends.
If youre an east coast transplant like me looking for a bagel shop that reminds you of home, this is it. The bagels are good, the spreads are delicious, and its not overpriced. The cafe itself is cozy and perfect for getting some work done.
I love the bagels they serve, and they have an awesome lox bagel sandwich. The bagels are just the perfect size and texture and have a great chew
Been a regular here for years since college! Cant go wrong by any of their bagels and spreads- chewy, filling bagels and everything is freah and house made. They are run by a super nice couple- happy to see their business thriving and expanding to other locations!
Pretty small coffee shop, not a lot of seating but they have great coffee and really good breakfast food. I travel here just for “The Bageler” on a croissant, fried egg, bacon, Muenster cheese and chipotle mayo — YUM!
Great stuff here! Nice people, good food. The coffee is medium dark roast, just at the point of chocolate notes. Very good.
Great place.... I was brain dead on my first visit here and they were genuinely patient and helpful. Bagels and coffee are equally good. Definitely worth a visit.
17 Jun 2018Bageler’s Coffee HouseVery nice breakfast/lunch sandwich place. All three of our sandwiches were well balanced. I had a butcher special which was very nice and balanced. My wife had a very buttery almond croissant. My daughter had a bagel with cream cheese and lox (smoked salmon). The only down side was that the AC was broken or not sufficient. They had fans blowing the hot air around (90F plus degrees weekend).
Worked there for a few weeks and when it came time to get paid, I was denied a paycheck. When asked about it, I could not get a solid answer. The manager told me she could not get a hold of the general manager at the time because her phone was off. And then I got an answer saying I think the boss is trying to figure out how to write the check. Then she tries to leave for the day without resolving my issue. When I asked again about payment, she says maybe Friday I am not sure. So yes, I walked out. I do not work for free. I got an email today saying my check will be mailed out to me on Friday and not to worry about coming in as I am not employed there anymore. When I asked about the policy and that I was not notified of how I would be getting paid, the general manager of the store told me to have a nice day and that I will get paid. I really enjoyed my time working there and put in a lot of hard work, but I truly feel the management needs more training. They are very young after all. I was the oldest person employed there.
This place has great food and the staff is always friendly. Normally dont like weird hippie cafes, but I enjoy this one. Solid food and great people, and try the salt bagel!!
Awesome local bagel place. Breakfast sandwich was incredible. Free WiFi and a relaxed atmosphere. Plenty of outlets. Coffee was excellent too.
Nothing to remember. Regular bagels not worth the price ($9 for a Just-okay-bagel). The coffee was not good. The place was very cold.
Excellent stuff and very good service all of them.
Definitely the spot to get a great lox bagel (farmers bagel).
Easily the best bagel in Chicago, and this is coming from a native New Yorker/ bagel fanatic. So happy I discovered this place!! Tip- DePaul students get a 10% discount. The only other Chicago area bagel place on par with this one (to save you time searching) is Bagel Art in Evanston. Nothing else will beat Bageler’s
So many options, walk away with a full tummy every time. Really enjoy the coffee, tea, the service, the food and the atmosphere.
Great fresh coffee, great fresh homemade bagels, Lox sandwich is outstanding. Neighborhood joint with 90s alternative on the airwaves, DePaul kids beavering away behind the counter. What else could you need to start your morning?
I stopped in for breakfast and got a bagel and an almond croissant to go. The place is maintained well and not over crowded. However, I was hoping for more food options. Right now for food, you can only get bagels/cream cheese/jams or croissants. I guess I was also hoping they would be serving breakfast sandwiches or crepes...maybe once theyve been open for longer the food menu will expand.
Ordered the white chocolate mocha and it was great! Not too sweet and good flavor!
I LOVE The Bagelers! Service is quick and friendly, food is always great, and the coffee is good! Highly recommend!
Impressive coffee and lets talk about the bagels for a quick second. When I say bagels dont think hard crust or tasteless cream cheese, these guys earn the name bagelers because the bagels are anything but cold, hard or tasteless, they are in fact quite the opposite...one of the best bagels Ive had!
Excellent bagels, coffee, spreads, and lattes. Wish I lived closer so I could try more of their menu, though Ill still find an excuse to go again. The fact that they make their own bagels and spreads really makes a difference.
Best bagels in town. Line fluctuates a lot on weekends.
The salmon cream cheese has actual salmon in it and it’s delicious. I also has the salted Carmel latte that was amazing
I did not like their coffee. Nor did I care for bagel with egg. I asked for salt for my egg and they did not have any. I wish they had utensils in plain view. Also, let the customer know where they can locate the creamer for example.
The bagels are just OK. What is very strange is that you cannot customize breakfast sandwiches and options like you can at most bagel places. They have 2 options for breakfast to choose from: a lox option and a BEC with muenster and chipotle mayo. Even so, it took about 20 minutes to get our order after waiting in a very long line. Just wouldn’t recommend for people looking for an NYC bagel type experience.
Great bagels and fun cream cheese cheese selections. The bourbon vanilla chai was delicious!
Good selection of bagel and good coffee!:)
Super friendly staff, great bagels and coffee! It was a very good vibe there, and I will be going back.
Iced coffee is great
Neither the cashier nor the barista was wearing a mask. We left.
Delicious bagels and cute local plants, but they dont have any vegan cream cheese 👎🏼
I loved discovering this place on a Sunday afternoon. Their coffee is great, good music, and nice relaxed vibe. I was warmly greeted right when I walked in. Thanks!
Great atmosphere, tasty bagels. The bagelers breakfast sandwich is great! Good place to hangout and do some work
Bagelers is one of my favorite places for a good bagel! They have good coffee AND good bagels, which is a win in my book. (Im a big fan of the garlic bagels.) Bagelers bagels and coffee are all affordable, and there is a printer available in the cafe. However, beware, they are so popular at certain times of the day there are no seats left, and there is often a decently long line! A hit or miss if you are intending to sit and study. In addition, there is often moderately loud pop music playing in the background, so it may not be the best choice for studying if you dont have headphones or have the ability to tune it out.
Great food and a good environment to study or have a conversation.
