Must Be WOKE to Shop Here: my wife, (or maybe I should refer to her as my domestic partner), came into Sprout to purchase an outfit for a friend’s newborn. Upon arriving, she was greeted by the staff and asked if she needed help finding something. My wife mentioned she was looking for an outfit for a friend who recently gave birth to a girl. The staff personnel then suggested a grey outfit. No biggie. My wife then mentions she’d like something more colorful as our friend has a big & bright personality. The staff then suggests a blue outfit. Again, no big deal, but then my wife asks if they have something pink, and the staff replied, “Oh…it sounds like you’re looking for something gender conservative” with a look of judgement on her face. And then points to the corner of the room. Now I didn’t realize that associating girls with pink was gender conservative. Hell, I didn’t even know the term “gender conservative” exists. But now we’ve turned shopping for babies into political activism. Come on. We came in to support a local business and it turned into the staff getting bent over their bias and then trying to “educate” their customer. We’ve spent thousands of dollars here over the years and this was the last time we’ll be coming in.

I love sprout! the girls there are always so sweet and helpful. The store is clean and the inventory stays up to date. I stop in whenever my baby is in need of something. I also bring friends and family by when theyre in town.

Sprout is absolutely amazing. Their customer service is unparalleled. The clothes they have are the highest quality as well as their car seats, strollers etc. This is the place to make the big purchases such as strollers and car seats because how great their customer service is. I have dealt with Nuna customer service and it was a nightmare. Luckily, Sprout was able to turn my horrible experience into a dream. Highly recommend!

Wonderful baby and toddler store. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Has a play area and offers various classes too. Almost all of the goods are healthy and green. For example, clothing made from organic cotton, toys made from recycled materials. And, much is made in the USA.

Nice toys and clothes for kids. Its very expensive but has good sales. Down side is its really a place you go before you have your own children to buy things for a friends baby shower or birthday. I found the store part very unwelcoming and not kid friendly.

Stumbled upon this gem while exploring Chicago with family! Absolutely loved getting to know Liz and hearing all about the business! She was so enthusiastic about her work and the community! It was pretty busy for a Sunday, and she greeted every single customer by name, and remembered special things about each family and child. Woah! Too bad Im a tourist, because I would certainly be a regular!! Its a must-see!!

They sell a few pieces of well designed, non-toxic furniture for babies and moms - no chemical fire retardants and filled with dunlop latex instead of foam. I wish I found this store sooner.
