I can not speak for everyone who has been serviced here but for me I had a great experience very friendly staff. Upftont, straight to the point and fair price in my eyes. Any future car repairs will definitely be coming back here.

Thalia is very great at providing all information and run down of the procedures when getting your vehicle checked for issues with the transmission and engine she takes the time to listen to every concern and gives you a great time frame of when your vehicle is ready & explains all that is done as well as provide any details of what you may not understand.This place not only provided me with a great experience but reassuring me that I can count on them.I recommend this place not every mechanic shop or transmission place give great service.Thank you Xavier Rodas for checking my vehicle out on 7/20/21 and Thank you Thalia Salmeron for your great customer service.

Very disappointed as I took my car for a fix and pay over $100 for the check and they were NOT able to fix the issue and I lost that amount and they did not pay me back that.Also chasing them for quote and find out that their quote was over the top on price.Wish this local biz was more on top instead had to go to a big corporation where they are quick and more responsive.So bad...

I won’t be going back. Long story short I needed to pass an emissions test by the end of the month. I had a light on and took it here. He changed my oil and told me I need to spend just over $1,500 to fix my catalytic converter and something else (can’t remember). I asked multiple questions and he assured me that the obd test is always accurate and it could not be anything else.. he said my car wouldn’t pass emissions without the repairs.. my car is worth about $1000 and has 190k miles..... two days after leaving with just the oil change, I passed an emissions test. The guy at Gateway was nice but then again.. how can you really know that he’s not a con man....? Also, this was a month ago. My car is still running well with no check engine lights on.

Just called to ask about their availability for a checkup/inspection before going for an emissions test and got an honest walk through of what to try to resolve my dash light maintenance required on my own over the phone. I appreciate the honesty.

Had to get my oil change on my Jeep. I usually do it myself but with no garage and Chicago weather I decided to take it to Gateway! They have great service & were able to fit me into their busy schedule. I will def be back.

Sum: These are great, trust worthy mechanics and I will be returning here for any and all repairs. Fair prices as well, as I had gotten quotes on an alternator rebuild from multiple places. They werent the cheapest, but they werent the most expensive either. Very reasonable prices and quality work from good people.Long-form: I was looking for a new car shop in the city, since my go-to was currently moving locations and not taking appointments but I needed to get the car inspected right away. I came across Gateway online, called and talked about the issues I was having and he could get me in right away to take a look. That never happens in Chicago, so I figured Id at least have them inspect it.I explained the sounds and things I had been noticing and we discussed both of our thoughts on what it could be. An hour after I dropped it off they called and explained that my alternator was going out basically and I have a few bearings that needed to be replaced that were causing noise as well. The alternator was my initial guess, so I trusted their opinion and went ahead with the repair.My car was done by 5pm that same day, picked it up after work and the car ran great. 100% better, all noises and symptoms were resolved.Im leaving this review bc a few days later (today) I got a huge nail in my tire driving home from work on Chicago Ave, drove straight there and arrived at 5:45pm - 15 minutes before they close. Asked if there was anyway they could patch/repair, he took it in right away and patched it, checked all tire pressure and was done with it all without even waiting more than 15 minutes.

Very trustworthy. Very quick. Fixed my rear brakes. Was able to get parts for cheaper to save me $40. I’ve used them a few times and always satisfied with their work.

This has been my second time getting our car fixed at Gateway. It is difficult to find a mechanic who can work on an older model Jaguar, and they are the best. These guys are easonably priced, honest and knowledgeable. I’m glad we found our new mechanic.

Good guys, fair price and good service. Having moved location from my original mechanic, I was concerned about getting scammed. Having previously worked in a garage myself, I can say that Gateway are honest and get to the heart of the problem without inflating your bill. Thanks guys, be using you as my regular now.

Honest and friendly service! Steve was thorough in explaining what was checked and what was needed and not needed at this time. He also kept me informed about the estimated time for the service and then called to let me know thattha vehicle was ready!

I opened a claim with Continental. They referred me to this tire dealer to inspect my tires. Not sure if it’s because I’m a woman or a black Woman who drives a Mercedes Benz. But, the service I received from Jeff wasn’t good. After inspecting my tires he was suppose to call continental so I could possibly get a pair of new tires at a proration rate since I just bought the car from Mercedes dealership 2 months ago. He could have called them while I waited but he didn’t. So two days later I called him for an update. He said he was waiting to hear back from continental. So I called continental and they said he NEVER called them. WHAT A LIAR! I Wouldn’t trust them with my car. Thankfully, Continental refererred me to a better tire dealer. And was able to get 50% off new tires.
