They found a bolt was missing.2. They will take photo to generate a complete, user-friendly digital report3. They wrote me hand-written advertisement letters. How rare it is at this time.

My AC wasnt working, and my tire maintenance light was on. John who was at the front desk was very respectful and friendly. About two hours later I received a text as well as an e-mail with all the details about my car inspection, and what was wrong. Included were pictures and names of the men working on my car. I was very impressed. I spoke on the phone with them immediately after and everything was broken down, and clearly explained to me. I was given an estimate and time frame which were both spot on. The service was timely, and my vehicle was back in shape in no time. It wasnt overpriced, and they didnt inflate the labor cost. I highly recommend this place!

I get extremely nervous about taking my car to anywhere new, but my regular shop doesnt do smoke testing for evap leaks and thats beyond the scope of what I feel comfortable doing myself, so I had no choice to look elsewhere. I swear to God, my car is the most temperamental princess youve ever met--it has a mind of its own and gets grumpy when I let anyone touch it but me. I picked this shop for the great reviews and prayed my car would behave.The repair cost a bit more than I expected based on the cost of the part, but I needed it done and didnt want to shop around so gave the green light for the repair and change spark plugs while they were at it (I was feeling lazy).I deleted a whole paragraph on how my car threw a fit, not necessary to review but yes of course it did NOT behave and ended up having to get towed back to the shop the next morning which the owner arranged for me when I called!Ideally I was praying I wouldnt be charged extra since my car clearly was acting up because of the tuneup, but practically I know there was extra time put into the car, plus a tow, and everyone deserves to get paid for their time. To my relief, when I picked up the car for the final time, no extra charge, just apologies for keeping the car overnight and an explanation of what they did to get her to quit having a fit 😂You can tell from interacting with the mechanics, the service advisor and the owner that they genuinely care about their work and are committed to making things right when something goes wrong. Thats a gem these days. Theyre also partnered with RepairPal so if you know what needs to get done, you can get a quote online and request that specific repair through them for a fair price! Will definitely be recommending them to my clients and family!

We have been taking our cars to E&J for years. John and Alex are very professional and good mechanics. They have been able to handle any problem we’ve ever had. Highly recommend them for any service! I pulled in yesterday with a large bolt in my tire at 4:50 pm and Alex advised me of my options. I left car overnight and picked it up today repaired. Alex advised me of other work needed but I had service scheduled with dealer for later this week. I enjoyed talking with Alex about baseball and cooking steaks on the grill. Best auto shop in the neighborhood.

My electric car stopped charging. Brought it in and the staff worked hard to root cause the issue. They even contacted the manufacturer to find out there was a software issue. They worked with the GM technicians to get a firmware upgrade. They made sure my car was able to fully charge afterwards. John was very friendly and professional about the whole process and kept me informed each step of the way.

These guys are great! They are so friendly and helpful. My favorite part about them is how honest they are. I feel I can trust their opinion and they warranty all their work. I also feel they are fairly priced. We drive out of our neighborhood to use them.

I have been in search of a great auto shop that I can make my regular & I have found it! The attention to detail is great, they give an extensive explanation for your understanding, and their customer service is amazing. They gave me a detailed Inspection report about the condition of my vehicle, each section was categorized & Even had PICTURES ! This made it easy for me to understand and see what I needed. It is also a plus because in the future I can refer back to this report to plan what needs to be attended to next!

I will never use another auto shop in Chicago. E&J is just that good. Ive used them for suspension work, tire rotations, wheel alignments and just your general oil change. They are extremely honest, thorough and helpful. Ive never felt pressured to do any work That seemed unecessary. They also back up all their inspections with pictures, which is really great if you dont regularly check your engine or undercarriage for what looks like it might need maintenance.

I took my Acura to E&J several months ago for a major overhaul, Brakes, all belts including timing and general maintenance. The work done was exceptional as well as the price! I now take my car there for everything including oil changes, due to the past oil change company I used ruined my oil plug and pan! I now have a auto service I can trust!

Very busy, the wait was at least 1.5 weeks for an oil change. Their software also doesn’t remind you of your appointment.

One day while driving on the highway, my Infiniti Coupe seemed to start losing power so I immediately got off the highway not knowing how long I would have the car being functional. I am the 3rd generation going to E & J. We have been going there for over 45 years. John has continued and enhanced the service that his father provided. The new facility is awesome. After the car is inspected, I recieve a text with the diagnosis. This is helpful to me because I can see exactly what the problem is. This time I had a cracked motor mount. The picture allowed me to understand the nature of the problem and have the confidence to authorize the work. They have always been honest and do great work. I recommend them highly.

Took my car in for an oil change yesterday. Service was performed quickly. Before returning it to me, everything they touched was wiped down with disinfectant. I trust these guys - they never try to sell me more than the car needs. I highly recommend them.

When you take the car in they do a full check and then text you this check. The check featured pictures of your car with explanations of what the problem is. Hands on for the owner from your phone. Like that.

Very high level of professionalism and integrity.My 2007 Nissan Altima Hybrid had an electrical problem and the first mechanic said the problem was the main Hybrid Batter Pack - which is the most expensive thing on the car to fix. The symptoms did not seem to guarantee that but he was not cooperative and insisted that unless the main battery is replaced the car will never be right.I took the car to E & J.It turned out to be something totally different. They diagnosed it with skill and its now fixed. It was a complex issue to diagnose. Turned out to be ignition coils.And now I have a confession to make. I tested them several years ago (and they passed obviously). I heard a weird rhythmic noise close to the front right wheel and my inspection showed a small piece of molding/plastic was rubbing against the wheel. The sound that it was making caused me to think it was more serious but there it was.E & J had just moved to the new location down the street (about 100 yards from my house) and I said to myself lets give this mechanic a test. I took it down there and he said its just a little piece of plastic rubbing on the tire. I think he even fixed it for free (with scissors right there).I have had them do maybe 5 or 6 repairs since then and they are great.

Summer of 2019 Problem - Motor blower- AC/Heat needed to be completely replaced and my oil tank needed to be fixed/replaced due to a crack in the oil tank/tray. So I researched to find a mechanic close to home that is also family owned x 2 weeks before picking. As polite and amazing as the staff are. My oil tank was properly fixed but my AC/Heat were not resolved. I ended up with only heat functioning after day 1 of the motor blower being replaced. AC was blowing the temp of the air outside. Also the settings only work on high. The mechanic asked me why the AC/Heat only works on the high setting. I thought that was odd. After spending almost a grand for this to be fixed onwon topstop of a very busy work schedule. I lost Complete trust in the company even though they encouraged me to bring my car back on my next day off so they can recheck to resolve the issue. If someone spends almost $1k and the issue was not resolved the first time. Why would I want to return? The staff are very professional and very polite but my car should have been fixed the first time. They even sent a courtesy email with pictures on what needs to also be fixed and the maintenance needed to be done on my car. In retrospect I could have given them a second chance to fix the issue but with my schedule. I didnt want to take away one of my free days to drop my car off at a mechanic to risk yet another disappointing experience. I regret to inform the company with a written review versus further DM communication however sometimes which is very rare for me. I have to write a review. God Bless everyone and hopefully you all have better experiences than myself with E&J Auto Service company. They are a great team regardless of my experience. ✌🏽

E & J has always been my go to service center. I recently purchased tires using another source. They advised me that my alignment was a little off. I thanked them for bringing this to my attention and told them I have a mechanic I trust and will take this information to them. When I went in for my oil change this past week I told them about the alignment. Since E & J had just done an alignment in recent months, they rechecked my alignment and adjusted what was needed. No additional charge! E & J always stands behind any service they perform. No questions asked! Just great honest service! I will always trust them with all of my mechanical needs. I have been going to them for years even before they moved to this location. A must place to go to for all your service needs!

I moved to the area and when needing auto repair gave E&J a try. Well I definitely found a gem! John and team are fantastic and extremely customer focused. Their repairs are done professionally and on time. In one case, John really got me out of a jam and got 4 tires replaced for an emergent trip I had next day and even at a great price! I have used them on a number of occasions now and wouldnt even consider taking my cars anywhere else!

Had to get my car fixed for a trip I was taking so i needed the car back as soon as possible. They fixed my car, took payment and left the keys in a lock box by the entrance so I could pick up my car after hours. The whole process was painless. Highly recommended

Service was prompt, and very complete. I asked for and got a complete exam for my old car that Id like to hang onto for a few more years. They found a problem that most places dont look for. I always prefer to have a problem fixed if possible before having a breakdown on the road. Their prices are reasonable compared to other service stations and way less than dealerships.

Per reference from CarMax where we purchased our Subaru, we took our Outback to E & J Auto for a tricky repair on defective sunroof. The guys at E & J were extremely helpful and thorough; in addition to courtesy overall check of vehicle, they performed the repair with no problem. I have been going to this location before E and J bought them out. I am very happy with the honest service they provide and the price they provide it at. I most recently went there to get a starter replaced due to an oil leak after having it replaced 6 months earlier. They were able to get it replaced under warranty. A few days later I started having a problem due to the repair and they were able to get me in and fix it right away with no problems. I like the text message notifications as well as the report online that shows everything they inspected and fixed along with pictures of everything. I have an older car and Im happy they didnt try to sell me things I didnt have to get taken care of right away. Theyre also open early, making it easy to schedule things around getting my car there. I will continue to come here for any future repairs.

I blew out a tire on my way to work and was towed to the closest tire shop since my regular shop was too far. I was expecting the worst due to my situation and because I’ve used the same shop for 15 years. The service here far exceeded my expectations! The pricing was fair and exactly what they said it’d be. They were also upfront about how long everything would take and were spot on. The service was exemplary and they have texts that keep you updated every step in the process. I would definitely return and recommend to others.

Took my vehicle here for an oil change in late-October of 2018. Alex, the service advisor, was very courteous and professional. They did a complimentary multi-point inspection and provided a comprehensive report (which was emailed to me) of anything I should get further checked out on my vehicle (replace air filters, tire rotation, etc.). The price of the oil change was a bit higher than Id like to pay, but overall the experience was a good one. I would recommend E&J Auto Service to anyone who needs their vehicle to be serviced.

I will admit I had my doubts about this place. I have been taken advantage by Mobility Works both in Niles and Villa Park. Every time I go there its at least a $1000 to fix whatever is wrong with our 2012 Dodge caravan. It is wheelchair accessible so its basically the only place that knows about wheelchair vans. I had already taken it to 2 places and had them charge the air. The 2nd time was at mobility works where they charged me $400. They told me they charged it and put the die in it. In a few weeks the air was go e again. I decided to go to E&J because I didnt want to have to drive an hour to get it fixed and be inconvenienced once again by Mobility works. The had quoted me $2000 to fix the air conditioning and I would have to wait 3 weeks for a part .E& J charged me basically half the price and had it ready the same day. I only had to wall a couple of blocks to get it and it has a 24 month warranty.They also called me a week later to ask how things were going. Thats customer service!.Thank you E&J! You have made my son and I very happy and comfortable again.😘
