OMG! AMAZING!!! had some squeaky breaks, on my 1995 subaru ( my baby) called for an apt the day before and they said no prob, came in was greeted and taken care of, about 15 min in the guy at the front desk ( cant remember his name) showed me on the car what needed to be replaced and how long, so came back in and he quoted me half the price of what I usually pay for brakes and was amazed. He said the timing should be done around 5ish ( i got there at 230) and asked if I was gonna stick around or if I needed a ride to wherever I was going. WOW! so got a call around 415 that my car was done, came in payed and my car runs better than ever! THESE GUYS KNOW THEIR STUFF! SO SO SO HAPPY! GO HERE FOR ALL YOUR CAR NEEDS!
At A Plus Chicago Auto Repair, the staff are friendly & professional, the mechanics are knowledgeable & they keep my car on the road, their prices are reasonable, I recommend their services to anyone in need of mechanic work
They are the best. Took me w/out appt. Then checked a couple issues I had questions on. Patience gets an A. Price fair B friendliness A+
Love their service. Very reliable and prices just right!
Had a great experience servicing my car. Job was explained fully, affordable and done on the same day. They are always busy, so going in early helped getting car serviced on the be e same day.
Timely and a job well done
I wish I could give this shop a MINUS ZERO. My son took his car to this place because someone referred him to it. He paid this place almost $500 for the repair and you would think they would stand behind their name “A PIus”. It wasn’t riding well so he took it back for them to look at it. They checked EVERYTHING ELSE but what he requested. On top of that they didn’t honor the warranty either. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THESE RIP OFF CLOWNS!!!
Weve been going to A+ Auto with our two cars for years. The service is great and at fair prices. We moved recently and tried a local shop but quickly went back to A+ because we trust the service, could get a free estimate before committing to any work, and the prices were lower. Its a longer drive now, but thats our shop. Highly recommended.
I took my truck to them on June 1st for an oxygen sensor and motor in back window wiper and they told me they can do the job in one day turns out they did not do anything and they had my truck for two days I went to go get it and my truck was sitting out in the parking lot open with keys on the inside guys working on other cars not paying attention to the vehicles now my problem is worse I think they owe me some money.
They are so nice and quick here!I was in the area to wash my car and looked online for an oil change spot. I saw some of the negative reviews, but decided to check it out for myself and form my own opinion, and I’m so glad I did.I had a delightful experience. Jim was friendly and everyone was peaceful and very pleasant. They said I should expect to be there an hour but was done in 30-45 minutes. They made fresh coffee for me. It was only a little more expensive than the shop I usually go to in the suburbs, but it’s Chicago so I understand. So great!
This has and always will be my go to Chicago Auto Shop. Jim and his staff are very knowledgable and always give a fair estimate. They are professional and courteous. I like that they have a restroom for customers that is always clean and smells good. No need to look further, this is the shop you want.
The best auto shop in the area! Jim and his staff are very knowledgeable and always finish the job in a timely manner! They have done work for me that other shops have quoted me double the price to do! A+ is the best!!
They try to rip me off got a cheaper price some were else on Augusta and Kilpatrick
Great service
Excellent Repair Service. Straight Talk. Honest. That sums it up.I originally went in for a quick muffler job, but once I spoke with the owner (Joe) and his team (Paul) and repair technicians (Jesus, etc) it occurred to me that he had a great team of people in place. My car needed some other services (engine & suspension) - and I also had those done at A+.Im tired of people trying to scam me on my car repairs. Im a bit of a home mechanic and I know cars. These guys were right on with there suggestions of what needed to be fixed. They did it well, fast, and cheap.Thanks.
Oil change was really fast and with no issues.
Took in my Jeep that was misfiring. They called me with the estimate and I called 2 other shop for a price comparison and they fixed it for 150 bucks cheaper than the other estimates I got and on the same day.The waiting room and bathroom is very clean, compared to other shops I’ve been to.Will definitely go again.
Every time I go here I always get my money’s worth and the owner Jim is helpful with any questions I had he answered them and he explained what was being done easy for me to understand I’m definitely coming back
Recently had my car fixed there. The exhaust was broken and they fixed it promptly and at a very reasonable price. Would definetely go there again.Jim treated me very professionally
Over priced and they will give you whatever price that comes to there head. The owner has a bad communication problem when talking to customers and he has a short fuse. I will never come back to this place and I will be putting a strike against the business license
Ive always had a pleasant experience with this my local shop that was until today. Usually your able to talk to your mechanic about money issues and they will honestly tell you what they are able to work out with you. But in my case Im struggling and was given the wrong or bypassed information without knowing the knowledge behind it. Rear lights not working after speaking to Mike office manager he informs me that I had an option either he would hook me up $92.00 for the diagnostic and he would throw in the bypass and would get the car out in the about an hour or I could pay $200.00 and could have the work done correctly. After agreeing to pay the $200.00 dollars I receive a call a few hours later informing me that the car is ready. I thought a great job was done my lights were working everything was great. Later that day I find out that he has installed a bypass but had been charged the full $200.00. Mike told me that the additional funds were for the time spent on the car and I was then given the option to have the piece taken off, have the $200.00 returned, and never to come back again.
Great service everything that was wrong with my car was explained very well and will definitely return with any mechanical needs.
For every person who gave this place 5 stars must be related to jim cuz the price gouging and lack of mechanic experience is all you will encounter at this shop. They fix one thing but make sure you return with other mechanical problems that they deliberately do themselves. The work they do is under 1 year warranty that they don’t honor and use every excuse in the book not to honor the warranty. This is the worst place to take your car even for an oil change. I’m giving you a star and not by choice you should be getting 0 stars and get shut down. I’ve reported your establishment to the bbb,the attorney general and the irs.
I called these guys and told them about my brake issue. I knew I needed new rear rotors and was unsure about the fronts. Going into this knowing I needed ALL NEW brake pads and was unsure of the rest of what was going on.I wanted all of my suspension checked while they were under the vehicle thinking FOR SURE that theyd try to hit me up with some form of charge to fix SOMETHING. They didnt. These guys were awesome and I didnt feel like they were acting like the stereotypical auto shop scumbags looking to take me to the cleaners.Super reasonable, super responsive, and a feel good atmosphere.Ill be going back when necessary.
Worse place to take your car. I went there a few years back my visit was pleasant unfortunately this time around it was the worse possible experience anyone could ever have first the customer service is bad and their way of fixing a problem is by using electric tape. I was not aware that tapping wires cost $200. To keep things short the cars wires were stripped and instead of replacing them they just tapped it up and if that isnt enough now when I turn on my heater it smells like if something is burning. By the way I am a mother of two and my husband is legally blind and now dont feel safe driving in the car because of what they did. BEWARE OFF THIS PLACE AND DONT TAKE ANY CHANCES CAR WILL BE WORSE THEN WHAT IT WAS
Be careful with this shop, Jim the manager did not want to be held accountable for his worker at this place. There is no integrity and they do not work with honesty. I tried resolving this issue appropriately but he kept excusing himself and the shop due to the fact he was not involved in the interaction that took place. They replaced parts on my car which did not resolve the only reason for my visit in the first place. They charged me 500 for repairs and failed to mention that those repairs were not going to fully fix my problem. I only found out after driving the car home that the steering wheel began to shake and move all the way to the side. He honestly told me to take the car to another shop and bring it back if the problem continued. To ANOTHER SHOP! Wow
This place is full of con artists. I brought in my daughters 2002 Toyota Corolla cuz it was making a clucking sound on the front wheel of the pasenger side plus the car was wobbly on sept 18.Jr the mechanic said it was a bad wheel bearing. It cost me 250.00. 45.35 for the part and 200 for 40 minutes of labor. They include the waiting time of a part that is delivered to them for my car to their labor work and that’s not fair to anyone. After I paid like a week later my car started to have the same problem. I had no off days until today oct 9 2018 so I took the car back. Now jr tells me it’s a transmission problem. I did a diagnostic test on 9/18/18 before I took it to this shop and the test didn’t indicate transmission failure. Under warranty I had jr check the car today and waited 3 hours for the new wheel bearing to arrive. Why did he order another bearing for my car if he just put a new bearing 3 weeks back. So I take the car for a test run and my car still sounds the same. So I go back to the shop to request the old bearing. Keep in mind that jr put a new bearing 3 weeks back. So the bearing should still look new. Jr picked whatever pieces he found on the shop floor and put it in the box that the new bearing came in and passed it off as the bearing he replaced. I have phone videos of sept18 as I have phone videos of 8/9/18. A plus auto repairs needs to be investigated and shutdown. We don’t need business like yours in our community. Jim you should be ashamed. Overcharging on labor and not repairing what needs repaired in the first place just to keep ripping us customers off. DO NOT GO TO A PLUS ON NORTH ave and HAMLIN. Your car troubles will get worse doing so. This place is the worst. Ohh and Jim all your replies really just say I screwed you out your money please come again,NOT!!!!
To be a neighborhood mechanic shop uuummm THEIR PRICES FOR PARTS AND LABOR COSTS WAYYY MORE THAN THE ACTUAL DEALERS WOW... GUYS BE REASONABLE... PRICES OUR RIDICULOUS..IJS!!
This place provides an amazing service and would not only recommend them to everyone but also use them again. I call them today to fix a catalytic converter, unexpectedly stolen the night before by some punks. They were the first our of 3 places I called prior to give me exactly the answers I needed. Such as: can they do the job, can they work on my vehicle, do they have clearance (10.6 feet), availability to take it, amount of time, price, SPOT ON got all the answers. When I arrived at the location, before I even packed, a guy who later I understood was the owner, greeted me and took the truck which they send straight to the lift gate. One of the things that impressed me alot, everything was clean in the shop and had free coffee, not many auto places do that, unless it is outrageously expensive dealer. The work was done the same day, the owner Jim was sympathetic of the issue, and hopefully will use my business so I can recup my loses. Thanks A+!
AMAZING, WordGirl APPROVED! Ive been going to Chicago APlus for a year now, and have always had a great experience. The front runners, Jim and Paul provide fantastic customer service, with fair prices and explain everything clearly. These are very honest and trustworthy mechanics with zesty personalities! The times I went in they took the time to listen to me, do a thorough inspection and when they described the job they invited me to the work area, showed me the problem and explained what and why some parts needed to be replaced. Never once I felt like I was stripped, drawn, and cheated like a lot of scummy repair shops made me feel in the past. Its uplifting to go to a shop I can trust and where I am treated with respect and they make me feel like family.*WordGirl has yet another vocabulary to describe this shop: Remarkable!!!*
Dont trust this shop!
Never take your car here!!!! They will rip you off! They charge wayyy too much for labor and their warranty is bull! They will keep saying its another issue just to get more money off you.
The mechanic stripped the hose for my power steering when I bought a new one from the parts store when I came to get my car the next morning the hose was still leaking and I had to pay $250 to get my car back with the police because he wanted the money but my car was still leaking
Bad attitude prices are high and he forgot to put my oil cap and brake cap back on such caused me more problems!!!
Prices too high n they dont even do there job right i wen to change alternator n my car broke down a week after i went they suck at there job
