Trustworthy and affordable local shop within walking distance in Andersonville and Edgewater.
Well, my hope is that the positive to come out of my bad experience with this shop is that you will avoid the same. I chose to bring my car, a 1969 Porsche to Northside Auto for an oil change due to their self-advertisement as being familiar with Porsches and their generally favorable reviews on Yelp. Well, let me tell you that I made a big mistake. This place is very unprofessional.First, the shop placed oil that was not requested at the time of service into the engine. They did not consult me about the change in oil, nor did they document on the receipt what oil they substituted or in what quantity.Second, I checked the oil level after the oil change and it was several inches above the maximum fill level. This can cause engine problems if the oil bubbles over. Because they did not document how many quarts they put in, I have no idea what they did.Third, the mechanic broke a piece off of my engine release handle. This was not mentioned to me at the time of pick-up.Fourth, items from glove box were strewn about the passenger seat. This included a small box that resembled a jewelry box but which only contained old tire cap covers.Fifth, they charged me $65.00 for the oil change.Sixth, I have emailed and telephoned Northside Auto with no response.I will never go here again, and I will discourage anyone else from going here. Completely unprofessional. I am bringing my car elsewhere to be appropriately serviced. Additionally, I plan to make other appropriate complaints regarding the professionalism of this establishment.Beware.
Very honest, incredibly reliable, fast and charges very reasonable price for their polite and professional services. Dont let the plain exterior fool you. They saved me after my alternator belt broke on the highway, they replaced it within a couple of hours and charged only 1/2 of what others would have charged. We were scheduled to fly out for a family vacation for two weeks, so they said they will park our car in their garage for two weeks if it werent done before we have to leave, no charge. In their location, parking space is prime. I couldnt believe that they would even think of offering this. Fortunately it was repaired in just a couple of hours. I just had my transmission and cooling fluids changed here, they charged me $29 while Toyota quoted $179. I also had a cosmetic issue with a plastic cover in the rear side, instead of ordering a new piece as others suggested, he pointed out that it was just the metal clip that needs to be replaced. I dont understand how would some people find their experience negative here. As far as my experiences goes, they were all very positive. I am always going to bring my car here. Very sweet folks!
Very friendly service, very fair prices, great turnaround time too!!
This place is seriously a godsend. I have never owned a car before and have no idea how to do things. The folks here are helpful and honest, providing you all of the options, even if that means going somewhere else to get your work done. The work is always well done and fast. And its always a fair price, if not cheaper than that. My fiance and I have been here a few times and its always a stress-free situation. As people who dont know about cars, we always get a little stressed out when we think about taking our car in, but its never stressful here. Seriously, take your car here for all of the work you need.
Updated review: after a little over a year and a half and only 15,000 miles, the aftermarket brake pads they installed have already worn down to 3 mm and need replacing again. This coupled with the fact that they did not Close the oil cap or drain plug the last time I had them change the oil means that these guys will never touch my vehicle again. They cannot complete the simplest of maintenance tasks successfully.
Excellent service! Very considerate, timely, and cost efficient. I definitely plan to come back if I need further repairs.
Absolutely a scam. These are the type of places that give mechanics a bad name. My sister took her truck in because it wasnt running right, and instead of diagnosing the problem, they told her that her MUFFLERS need to be replaced for $700! A completely unnecessary repair, that didnt even fix the problem. Her exhaust is in excellent condition. These are the WORST kinds of mechanics; the ones who take advantage of women. For an ACTUALLY honest mechanic, Joes Expert Auto or Auto Repair Plus are the only two shops I trust. Give the good guys the business.
OMG, They did more then they were suppose too, they changed the headlights bulbs and washed my car 5 started and more!!!!!Nadeem Great Job!!!!!
Never ever go there again, They always promise to finish work but they never done on time! 2 on 10 place. Dont waste your time go somewhere else.
Stayed open late as I was being towed in. Fast service. Kept me updated regularly
These are great guys to do business with.
They told me to drop off my car one day at 8am and pick it up at 5pm the same day (for body work) so when i went there the car wasnt ready yet and told me to come back the next day at 10am. The next day i called just to make sure the car was ready and again they told me to wait 2 hours, and when i finally picked up the car they told me that the paint is not shiny because i didnt gave them time to buff the car, PLUS I DIDNT LIKE THE QUALITY OF THE JOB PERFORMED IN MY CAR! Thats unprofessional! No good at all. Thank God i didnt pay anything but the person who hit my car. SO DISAPPOINTED!
First and foremost I had previledge to go here 2 times. I guess the reception is very poor they don’t how to deal with customers they seem to be in their own world
